I feel so envious of her experience. Last time I was there the ride was so crowded and broke down at least twice, but for her to have a virtual walk-on had to be so lucky
I was at Disney on Thanksgiving this year, visited 2 parks. Matter of fact I was in the attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance when it broke down Thursday evening. We got in line with less than 5 minutes to closing time, the que was about 10 to 15 minutes to the pre-show. We got to just before you line up on the different colors for the transport (the ride). Yes the attraction had a malfunction. Damn thing is all computer generated, some thing is going to break. But some Disney magic made it right, by giving EVERYONE in the line a lightning pass for the next day, any attraction, any park. with the exception of Guardians of the Galaxy. And yes we rode the Guardians of the Galaxy twice while we were there by using the virtual que that you have to do @ 7am. Don’t know what the problem is or was. We went back to Hollywood studios the next day and with back to Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance with the lightning lane that they issued us with no problem.
My daughter, son in law and 2 children (ages 6&9) wer at Disney World’s Animal Kingdom and Epcot on Thanksgiving. They didn’t have too many issues with crowds there! They had a great time!!!
Imagine giving up your Thanksgiving to not have to wait in line…I went to Epcot and they did not let you ride Guardians after making you work for a lottery. I think they give it to the celebrities
Disney in the US used to be sort of affordable, a big splurge you saved up for. Now, it’s far more expensive than that, only viable if you have piles of cash to spend to get in, to get into rides, to eat, to get from the airport – every step of the way is expensive. And I’m constantly hearing reports of rides breaking down, of rides that are huge favorites being torn down or abandoned, and the lack of improvement in the internal transportation system, excluding DW from Brightline. I’m a very disappointed former guest and at the moment, still a long time stockholder. I hope Iger can turn around, but I’m not holding my breath.
Me 69 male and my 2 daughters were there 11/11 – 11/21 including 2 days at Universal. I was pleasantly surprised at the crowd, I was expecting it to be much worse. Walked up to Rise of the Resistance without any special pass or tickets. Had to wait about 15 minutes for it to get going. Other than that we had no issues.

I’m not a celebrity and I rode Guardians of the Galaxy yesterday!

Given your multiple negative posts, you must be a miserable person.
