Wakanda isn’t going to do much better. Shuri shouldn’t be Black Panther. The female switch for Indiana Jones is a huge mistake too. Disney is ruining all their popular franchises one movie at a time.

    1. DeLaunhardt

COMPLETELY AGREED!! No wonder their stock is crashing!!

      1. Stacey

I think there’s more going on than what they are really telling us. As in maybe some requests that are being made isn’t making a good movie and it may not be Disney making the requests. This is Disney and not game of thrones we want a happy ending or don’t do it. Do not do this movie with different people either or start over on the story if so please. I’d say not only ask the audience if they liked it but what it was they would rather see might help bring new ideas to an ending

        1. Dan

The problem is Harrison Ford. He’s the type of actor who wants his characters killed off, and he has the clout to get what he wants or we won’t bother reprising the role. He tried, and tried, and tried to get Lucas to kill off Han Solo, but he never would. That was basically his stipulation for being in The Force Awakens was to have some dramatic, shocking death. I’m afraid he’s going to get his way in this Indy movie as well.

          1. LQJonas

All we want from a movie is escapist entertainment. Not political preaching on the climate and “equity.”
I have not seen the movie, but knowing Disney, they couldn’t help polluting the script.

          2. William

            Get woke go broke!

          3. Stinky

Get woke and broke over a change in genders of the character? You know you can just say you’ve never touched push right? 😂

          4. JMarshall

            LQJonas I totally agree!

          5. VOZ

Boy, you’re not real bright are you??
The movie hasn’t even been made yet. You’re crying over something that doesn’t even exist.
Next time, READ the article. That way you won’t come across as a shaved mongoloids

          6. smarter than you

You’re the only shaved mongoloid here. It is very logical to deduce that wokeness influenced the ending given what the article states about a potential female lead taking over Harrison Ford’s role. This is a terrible decision on every level and in every reality, however, wokeness creates significant delusion with the primary belief that such decisions create some type of altruism, when in fact, it does exactly the opposite, moreover, nobody wants it and has not been successful in any market.

          7. TJT

Quit crying Karen.EVERYONE with a brain is tired of you jer&offs!
            Liberalism is a mental

“I haven’t seen the movie, but I already have strenuous objections to the things that I imagine are in it.”

          9. CFG

            Psst…he’s an Incel.

          10. pmcsmurf

            Disney just sucks, period

          11. Dan

            Very true bud

          12. HAROLD S

HAVE HARRISON FORD RETIRE and LET HIS SON OR A FAMILY MEMBER TAKE OVER –

          13. So, as a Indina Jones fan,
I’m nit sure it is a flop.I see people every Halloween dressing up as Indy.I have a hat whip, and side piece. Look it’s not a flop until you put it out. You invested this much in it have faith and “wish upon a star” as Disney does. Watch ,imagine, rewrite or recurring and add.
Nothing is successful if work is not done. ” a spoonful of sugar” and a spell on you” should work. Get on the steamboat snd make it work Mickey.

          14. Zanshin

The problem is Harrison Ford is old enough that he doesn’t want to keep playing Indiana Jones. They had some good concepts for Crystal Skull and some bad ones, which added up bring not a great movie. Studios want to push out new movies, to make money, whether they have a good ideas or not.

          15. Notyourbusiness

That was for the effect. Not because Ford is a character serial killer. They don’t even need to kill Indy to pass the torch. They shouldn’t even pass the torch. Do something new for once Disney!

          16. Pam

Do not kill off Indy…you will kill the series…retire him and find a male replacement that is worthy of the part…we want to see Indy enjoying his golden years and look forward to the series continueing…”this is Disney” and should be a happy ending!!
Disney is going to lose their base if they don’t get this one right.

          17. Tim

Most of this is not try and simply blown up. He didn’t beg and plead. He brought up once. Lucas said no. They moved on.

        2. G

Even Ray Charles could see that Kathleen Kenndy is destroy all the male characters from the franchises we loved growing up!! But, Disney will never get rid of her because they have turned into a pandering piece of garbage. They will continue to have flop after flop and I can’t wait to watch them fail continually. #cancelkathleenkennedy

          1. Shan

Cancel Disney period! It’s not about entertainment anymore but pandering to any which way the wind blows. I had fun years ago. It’s not the same anymore and I will not go to any parks or watch any of their movies.

          2. Stephen S. Chinitz

Basically, everything Bob Chapek has his fingerprints on turns to mud for the fans and the Disney-going public. I have always considered myself a certified “Disneyholic” since Chapek has taken over I am more of a “Disneyapoligist” wake up Disney before the Brand sinks altogether.

          3. Stinky

Destroying all the male characters because the actors don’t want to play them anymore? Have some sense brother

        3. Lloyd

Where’s indy’s son ? Why not have him take over , which Harrison making guest appearances or cameos. Listen, you’ve make female heroes in marvel universe. Leave Indiana Jones alone.

          1. PamPam

            Yes…totally agree!!👏

        4. Dawn

I always thought his son was going to take over after the last movie. Not a someone else. And if they plan to kill him off that isn’t the way it should go he should be in retirement.

          1. Melissa

The same people complaining about what they imagine this movie is going to be would complain just as much about that. I don’t know if you were online after the last movie came out, but it was another big blowup of toxic fandom, and I don’t blame the studio for being afraid to go forward with it.

        5. Art

I do not understand your comparison between Disney and Game of Thrones. WB is owns HBO who produced Games of Thrones and WB does a better job with their sequels than Disney.

      2. Hartley

More woke nonsense. How in the hell can you ruin an iconic Franchise like Indiana Jones.
        Unbelievable.

      3. Ronald W.

Every movie franchise Disney touches turns ash. Do they have their own Infinity Gauntlet that has a 100% kill rate.

      4. Elizabeth Lynn

I think Disney is just in “Fell on all front ” mode. The parks are losing, and the films are just not there. Time to change their leadership.

    2. Peg

Indiana Jones movies were great so stop making anymore with Harrison Ford he is too old now. Don’t ruin his other movies. Make some new movies with new actors. How about Aaron Paul he is a great actor.

      1. Danielle

@ Pat Chris Pratt would make a great younger Indy IMHO

        1. Yan

I second that. There’s already a picture floating around with him dressed up like Indy. Looks identical as Harrison Ford

        2. Chris

Really? Did you watch the Jurassic park tragedies he was in. He has become the default actor in Hollywood. All ten thousand of his movies/shows lately have been forgettable. Like Tomorrow war and Terminal list. He has just been over used

          1. Tyler

I have the answer for continuing the Indiana Jones franchise into the future that actually honors the lore, while also checking off the “diversity” requirement that Disney seems to have….Indy passes the figurative torch to Short Round (from Temple of Doom). The character is Chinese (✔️diversity) and it utilizes a character that was introduced in the second movie of the franchise, instead of shoe-horning in whoever Phoebe Waller Bridge is supposed to be! Plus, he’s young enough that he could carry the franchise long into the future. AAAAND it will also play well to the MASSIVE Chinese market.

So, there ya go, franchise saved, where’s my check?!?

          2. Stinky

You’re damn smart. That’s better than erasing the lore while also having a good female character. The gay faggots that like only watching male leads in movies have no common sense.

          3. GOB

Tyler, the woke crowd doesn’t care about Asian people. Nope, it’ll be a gay woman, prepping for reassignment surgery

        3. Tim

I want a Short Round spin-off series on Disney +.

      2. Ward Dorrity

What a surprise! Most folks don’t seem to care for woke hot garbage.

        1. Don

I couldn’t agree more. I’m all for filmmakers making their movies and if they want to tell women-centric stories by all means, knock yourselves out. But don’t take our stories and destroy much loved characters by shoe horning women into them. Lucasfilm destroyed Han Solo and Luke Skywalker in order to make a young girl the hero of the 9 movies and that’s an unforgivable assault on the fans, the franchise and George Lucas especially.

          1. Curtis Sterling

Hey, I happen to think that Rea was a great addition to the franchise. She is and makes a great Jedi! Not to mention that she is HOT!

          2. TtTim

            Make Short Round force sensitive.

          3. smarter than you

            🤣🤘🏻

        2. BD

Hahahah. It’s a movie. These are a dime a dozen. Don’t like it; don’t watch it.
I’ve got bigger problems to worry about than if a fictional character is still around or not.

          1. Chris

Uhhhh, you’re on here commenting. It appears you don’t have better things to due with your time.

    3. Looey

Shuri literally becomes the black panther in my the comics u asshat incel

      1. Steve

        Try harder in school.

      2. PJ

True, she did become Black Panther in the comics……TEMPORARILY!!!!!!!! T’Challa regained the mantle soon after. The issue was never fully about her doing the same in the movies. It’s about them killing off T’Challa in the movies just to make way for Shuri. It has “agenda” written all over it!

        1. Kat

They can’t bring T’Challa back. Chadwick Boseman died, and he can’t be replaced. It wouldn’t be the same.

          1. Don

Sire you can, multiverse remember? They did times 3 with Spider Man -Toby, Andrew, and Tom – so they can do it with BP.

        2. DrD

          Simple Fix:
          Fire Kathleen Kennedy.

When is Disney going to realize that in the last 10 years, she has ruined everything she touched. I have always felt that Indiana Jones was an homage to the early Hollywood serials. They were fun. She is determined to make every male hero into a mindless emasculated “also ran” while a female takes over the hero role.

Remember Star Wars – Episode IX? Such a debacle that JJ Abrams vowed never to work for Disney again. Translation: Never work with Kathleen Kennedy again. She needs to be “retired” (along with Bob Chapek)

          1. ML

This…KK has got to be shown the door.

And this not so secret agenda.

Well…the fact it’s even referred to that demonstrates that Disney’s core has rotted out.

C’mon folks….we want to recognize and appreciate each other, and respect each other. But don’t kid yourselves that the way you towards recognition is through co-opting things the way they are.

Sure, this comment will get haters….but that just means that folks c’mon take a dose of counter-argument.

A 5th Indy was just a stupid idea from the start.

It should’ve been left as is.

        3. CFG

It’s not an “agenda”, the cast decided not to recast him. I wouldn’t have killed him off, but would’ve made him disappear or whatever (it’s comics/SciFi) and bring a new actor in later in down the line. For now, Shuri is fine and it’s in step with the source material.

      3. Redleg17

You could have stated you point without the childish name calling.

        1. Mr E

What word would you change? Stay your opinion and have it compared to others.

      4. I’m tired

And how did the books sell? I’m gest not too well

      5. Backcountry164

How can you tell someone is 12 years old?? They’re still calling people incels…

        1. Jordan

Incel isn’t even a good insult either as most people who hear it isn’t one infact most incels are emasculated male feminist who will most likely never get out of the “friend zone”

      6. Chris

        In English please.

    4. Shawn

Shuri also took on the mantle of the black panther in the comics… Doom tried to kill T”challa, get your Facts straight.

      1. CFG

        Incels don’t do research.

    5. Mr E

Time for “ New” non PC movies!! Reruns lose every time!!

      1. Jordan

Make a list of all the race/gender/sexuality swaps and you will laugh this is nothing but pandering to manipulated liberal minds who don’t have a thought of their own …I’m not a conservative minded person just a liberal who is capable of managing my mybias unlike most small/weak minded idividuals who are unfortunately the majority of 2 types of people …people who naturally use different parts of the brain to make choices turned against each other by mass media and politicians who desire no accountability from those that give them power .uhhh other side bad duhhhh I’m a simpleton

    6. The Dude

      Spot on!

    7. Andrew

Shuri was black panther in the comics for a while so her becoming it isn’t a new concept and it does make for an interesting premise till his son can take the role.

    8. Karl

Well disney is pretty horrible people?

    9. EZD

She becomes the Black Panther in the comics so that makes sense as far as BP 2 goes… But we don’t need another Lara Croft

    10. Willie B. Hardigan

If no one likes IJ5, that has seen it, it’s probably best just to scrap the whole project, get rid of movie 4 and leave movies 1, 2 and 3 as cannon.

As far as making a female Indiana Jones, bad idea and there is no point to it, because we already have one. Lara Croft.

    11. Your dad

Why not? Shush was BP in the comics, as was storm for a bit

    12. Just Dont

      Fkn spoilers dude

    13. Tiffany

While I agree with most of this, the case with Black Panther is different. Chadwick Boseman passed away in real life. Sure, they could have hired another actor and pretended, “this has been T’Challa the entire time” but face it, it still would not have been as well received. In this case, it makes perfect sense for Shuri to take up the Black Panther mantle in order to honor her brother and protect her country.

    14. P. LePew

Wrong!!! Wakanda Forever is awesome! Everyone in the theater clapped and gave it a standing ovation… Not sure what you expected? MCU’s on-point almost every time they put out a movie.

    15. Jack

We said this 6 years ago now and continue to. We don’t want n1ggers or women in movies.

    16. Phoenix

No Shuri was going to end up the Black Panther at some point. I know you don’t anything about the source material since reading comic books is beneath you.

    17. Jason

You do realize shuri became the black panther in the comics right?

      1. CFG

They don’t seem to understand that because they don’t use the whole computer in the palm of their hands before opening their mouths.

    18. bbt

Hate to tell you Wakanda Forever broke box office records this weekend. I kind of hoped they would recast T’Challa, but after seeing the movie Shuri as Black Panther story was very well written human story and I would see it again.

Maybe good movies make money, and maybe go see them before deciding based on where they fall in your world view.

Movies are much more entertaining that way, and a great immersive story can be enjoyable even if it’s different from what you expect or you don’t agree with all the choices.

    19. Phillip

Ha ha ha you guys are only movie people and don’t read the actual comics since they do the dam comic book storylines in the movies.

      1. Winger

Dude, Stan Lee said it best in. An interview. In the comics it’s up to the writer and and their imagination to write what they want and any outcome. More people go to the movies than pick up any single issue of a comic book. If I was a writer in a comic book I could have my own ulta version of Superman and call him Armageddon Superman and have him vs Dr Manhattan. It would be an epic battle and The outcome would be whatever I want- because I was the writer 🫤

    20. Winger

Yeah, you hit the nail on the.head- Disney is slowly but surely screwing a few things up. Turning Hulk & Thor into lame comedy, overkilling Star Wars, etc. Just hoping they stay away from DC. Smart thing to do would have placed George Lucas on the payroll to run Star wars without any of their Mickey mouse influence, and Marvel studios take care of their own business with again, no Mickey mouse influence- Thor Love and thunder was a joke after a gem like Ragnarok.

    21. Roman

Why did you have to ruin it for people that wasn’t able to see the black panther movie yet?

    22. RD

They are going by the Black Panther comics. In the comics Shuri became Black Panther temporarily. It fits the Canon and I think was the obvious choice.

    23. TJ Spyke

Wow, your prediction couldn’t have been more wrong. It broke box office records, making $180 million domestically and $150 million internationally on opening weekend.

    24. FR

Shuri is black panther in the comics, it worked in the movie and it works in the comics. It’s obvious you don’t read the comics these movies are based on for you to have an L take like that. If indy gets replaced by a woman then who cares? As long as it’s written and portrayed well that’s what matters. Plus the MCU has tons of female heroes that are finally being placed in the front rather than to the side as love interests or the sidekick type roles. Stay mad that super hero teams and globe trotting explorers aren’t all brodudes with 5 o’clock shadows. Go watch a Dwayne Johnson movie instead.

    25. MarkD

Shuri becoming Black Panther is canon. …and that’s a lot of words for “I can’t get a date”.

    26. CFG

And for the record, champ…Wakanda has made $330 Million in 5 days. You feel stupid yet? Well, you should.

    27. Daniel

Guess you are 100 percent wrong about your prediction

    28. Apples in the Forest

Yeah, that prediction didn’t work out for you.

  2. Jerry

Disney is a total joke now. The woke nonsense is bad enough. But the stories are just absolute garbage. I’m a huge Indy fan. I grew up with those movies. And have absolutely zero motivation or intention to see this new one.

They are also dead set determined to make Indiana Jones a girl. However, there is nothing innovative about that change. So Disney wants a Tomb Raider franchise? They realize that was already done in the 90s, right?

This company has beyond lost its way. Walt would be ashamed.

    1. Chris

      Totally agree

    2. Steve

They don’t want Indy to be a girl… they want Indy to be either a feminist or a “girl”.

    3. Totally agree.

    4. Mr E

YES!! Disney is taken over by PC/ woke mob!!

  3. I think Disney underestimates the number of Harrison Ford fans and his portrayal of his Indiana Jones role. I will be sorely disappointed if it’s not shown in the theaters. Give his fans the opportunity to say good bye to this great actor in one of his fans favorite character portrayal.

    1. John Pope

Well, Ford was getting too old to play Indiana anyway. I don’t know who this Phoebe-Waller Bridge person is, but jeez, she’s kinda homely isn’t she? I can’t see any reason for replacing Indy with an ugly girl. I wouldn’t want to see it, and it sounds like the test audiences didn’t either. Shelve it! Burn the master! There are some things so terrible you can’t unsee them. Please don’t make my last memory of Indiana Jones – Phoebe-Waller Bridge

      1. LM

Could you BE any more of a douche?
        No. That’s the answer.

        1. Dog

Jesus of Christ is the one and only true Savior of man, not Indiana Jones.

          1. Rachel Winiecki

Just here for the comments lolololol

          2. Steve-O

Right? Angry old people and woke nerds yelling at each other is the best. Over the 5th entry in a movie series. The internet is a wild and wonderful place haha

          3. VOZ

That would be “Jesus of Nazareth” or “Jesus the Christ”.
If you’re going to bring Jesus into this conversation, at least learn how to properly write his name.

    2. Matthew

Changing so many male leads to make way for a female lead of the same role us lazy and and tiresome.

  4. YouKnowIt

Go woke, go broke. Nobody wants to see a woman take over an iconic male role, whether it’s Jones, Bond, or any others. Can’t women create their own stars with their own talent? It’s not feminism to ride the coattails of an established male icon.

    1. James

I agree. Create fresh female characters. Unless the next black panther is a straight white guy ( it’ll never happen) stop trying to insert woke characters into already established ones

      1. Joe

We already have a female Indiana Jones. Her name is Laura Croft. They better come up with a good ending.

        1. Sean

They had better come up with a new ending to this last Indy movie. Disney has been going down in flames for the past several years. RIP Walt

        2. Mr

The God sakes? Fire Kathleen Kennedy and put Jon Farvo in charge.

    2. MechDad

Everything that Kennedy has touched. She has ruined.

Disney, what’s the definition of insanity.

    3. Dog

Disney needs to be more Christ-centered.

      1. Bert

        HELL no!!

        1. Tim

I want a Short Round spin-off series on Disney +.

      2. Passing Through

Dude, leave it in the church. Disney is an international company and has more religions than yours to think about (or to not think about, since we’re talkin’ entertainment here and not your eternal soul).

    4. Steve

Feminism is all about stealing from men.

      1. Bert

So insecure. Another man-boy afraid of a strong woman.

  5. Curt

It’s not like they can kill off Indy since the Young Indiana Chronicles (as they aired on TV, not as they were later re-edited), showed that Indy was still alive in the 1990s. That does not, of course, preclude Disney from ignoring that and doing as they want, but I wouldn’t consider it canon if Disney decided to go down that route

    1. Kathleen Kennedy is involved?

      Well… ’nuff said.

    2. Movie Man Dan

I’ll just wait, and see what goes down.

    3. Zarathos2099

I agree with you Young Indy is canon and even referenced in Crystal skull , ao I’m fine ignoring Indy 5 since Lucas isn’t involved

  6. Chonky

    Part time.

  7. Jon

I am so sick of Disney feeling that every male lead hero has to be replaced by a woman! Enough already!

    1. Pat

I’m surprised Harrison allowed the change to a woman Indiana. He himself said, He was Indiana Jones, the only one. If they did this he should sue this Kennedy person for ruining his trademark. He would always be Indiana Jones, named after his dog.

  8. JCro

Love Harrison Ford, and love the Indy movies. But I think people need to understand that Harrison Ford is aging, and he is COOL enough to want a dramatic finale for himself. There may be other things in the movie that are legit weak, but I want to cry seeing my hunkie hero depart to the celestial archeological sites of the unknown.

    1. Harrison Ford is aging as was Sean Connery when he was entered into the series… Should not forget that Indy is a professor….why not have his character be more the mentor to his son (who also was already brought to the movies) ?!?! This way Indy is still on adventures but not needing to be the one running ridiculous amounts of time….but even old timers can have a great hit or a great shot and then use the brain instead of jumping across a bridge (some might use a zip line!)

The point is be realistic on the story line which does exist…. Indy does not have to be female unless there was another child he did not know he had… But, keep the story line or come up with another name for a movie…

Gee…Lara TC was an adventurous female character!!

  9. Jd

Not surprising in the least considering Kathleen Kennedy is involved. After how Disney destroyed Star Wars beyond repair, this was to be expected.

I love Indy / Harrison Ford! And I do not want a women or anyone else to take over the role! Mr. Ford and Mr. Ford alone will always be Indy! Period

    1. Michelle Slaughter

I agree with this. I don’t think the problem is so much that it’s a woman “taking over” the role, it’s the idea that ANYONE is taking it over. First of all, Indy is an icon and Disney should have the balls to give him a big send off and make it FINAL. Secondly, Indy’s style of archeology has gone the way of the dodo, so if they stick to him still being alive in the 90’s and later, then no one should be picking up his whip and hat and going forward with the story. We should see them hanging on a wall maybe with someone musing that “Grandad had some crazy adventures when he was younger.” But leave it there.

      1. Pam

        I agree

      2. Will

        That would be perfect
        I love that idea.

  11. Bryan

Kathleen wants to replace every male lead in a series with a woman. This hasn’t been working for her and she just needs to stop. If you want a female lead, then create a new show with a female lead. But stop taking well established characters and their roles and trying to make them female. Why does this woman still have a job?

  12. Matt Brewster

Diz should bring George Lucas back. After all, Indy s his creation! Plus, GL is a terrific editor. If anyone can fix this mess, it’s him!

    1. Al Roberts

He’s a terrible editor actually his ex-wife fixed the original star wars and helped throughout the early part of his career.

  13. Stan

The best they can do is convert the movie they just filmed into a video game and film another one. Sometimes you should not force things.

    1. Fran

Love Ford and the Indie movies. He is the one and only Indiana Joned and shouldn’t be replaced by any one especially that ugly woman. I hope Disney doesn’t blow it let it play in the movies and stop with all the BS. Maybe you should let Ford decide the ending.

  14. Chad Kennedy :P

Bring out the parade of male replacement conspiracy theorists to get their schadenfreude dopamine hit. 😛

  15. John Stark

I don’t care how bad the test audience reviews have been – I want to see it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. Walt Disney

Like many of the antiquities Dr Jones brought to us it is now time for Dr Jones to be in a museum.

    1. Parks

I total agree. The Woke “Crap” has kill Disney for me. Lost my trust in them for my kids to see any of there movies now.

  17. Shelley

I think everyone will love to see Indy, especially if it’s something their children can see. Having Indy have an unknown child or grandchild would be a nice way to extend the franchise.

Too bad he has to die. What about having him retire, and using him at distances where a stunt double could work thereafter? Perhaps advise the new Indy by phone? Have Ford do some future clips now and save them for later use?

And perhaps later he could be so old that another actor could portray him as an old man.

    1. Denim

      He’s already an old man.

    2. Casra

He’s not going to “die” and have a grand child replace, she is, through time travel, going to REPLACE him like completely across time, in Indy Cannon, she will actually BE Indy.

  18. Ernest Block

Damn… it’s like people are rooting for total failure about Indi. It is, after all, just another chapter in a movie franchise – nothing more. But rather than being even remotely open to the idea of prospectively enjoying whatever creativity may come with the final installment, it’s far better for all the fans to set expectations so unrealistically high that the final project can’t help but be a major disappointment. Real cool. People just need to chill…

    1. DeLaunhardt

Replacement is NOT creativity! Besides there IS female Indy…

      Her name is LARA CROFT……

and look how well that franchise is doing…

  19. Screw u pinko johns

Cry babies need there diaper changed.

  20. Use the FORK , Luke! Bcuz the fork in the set is free! Use the Fork, then the spoon and the knife! May the Fork be with you! George you are a Lucky Ass!

  21. All are used cars are just $99.00 down at “ Harrison Ford!”

  22. DeLaunhardt

Actually there HAVE BEEN 6 test screenings with this VERY plot of replacing Indy with a girl who picks up the whip and hat….the best screening only got a 35% positive score…..

NO ONE wants any more KK “kill the patriarchy” crap!

  23. Happy Thanksgiving’22!

    1. Silp

      No …Yodahotbed!
“I’m the hotb?” No …Yoda hotb!

  24. Linda

If Disney wants a truly good ending, then he should live and end with him and his wife sitting back and remembering the good time. To kill him off is terrible. To put a women in his place is terrible.
    Just have a happy ending.

    1. Cj

Best ending would be Indy killing of KK!

      1. Steve

Indy crashing a plane into Disney HQ to rescue Walt’s frozen head from the clutches of KK and the Two Bobs.

        Now THAT is a film.

  25. Randi B

Fans have become fed up with Disney killing off characters as in the Marvel franchise, and replacing existing characters with women. Why can’t they create new characters for the women rather than putting them into rolls that have always been for men? And why do they have to kill them off? People are also tired of all the virtue signaling in the movies too. When I go to a movie I want to be told a story and be entertained. I don’t want some director or writer forcing their politics on me. This is why the movies are not doing well anymore. This is why we rarely go anymore even though we used to go 4 or 5 times a month. We look up movies now before we go and if they are going to be politically correct or virtue signaling, we just don’t go anymore.

  26. Edward

For me it isn’t a favorite character dying or passing the torch. Its more the way. Disney gave Han a wasteful death. They made him naive which Han never was. At the very least Chewie could have got the body and they send him off. Disney just craps on beloved characters. I’m sure lots will go see this film. But I won’t.

  27. Jordan

Not all change is for the better sir.

  28. Walter

Harrison Ford is 80 years old, so naturally his time on this Earth is drawing to a close. The Indiana Jones franchise will come to a close one way or another once HF dies.

The problem is that must people get used to one person playing a character that they cannot let go of.

That’s why a lot a remakes (not all) fail.

  29. Paul

Flop? Put the movie in a
theatres for everyone to see before we decide if it is a flop. Until then you are just discussing a corporate theory…..

  30. Tobalaz

    Hmm.
Hollywood was done wonders for my wallet with a plethora of uninteresting movies I wouldn’t pirate much less go to a theater for.
Looks John Wick 4 is the only thing I might be going to a theater to see. I did go see Black Adam, not the best plot but pretty much nonstop action and fun to watch.

  31. Goose

“There was also an Indiana Jones game developed.”

An understatement, to say the least…

  32. Derek

I saw Mutt Jones the other day on the Joe Rogan podcast talking about alien skulls and swinging with monkeys in the Jungle. Personally, I think that whole family is bunch of conspiracy theorists.

  33. K Parker

The franchise should have stopped at the The Last Crusade.

    1. Will

Agreed isn’t that why they called it “the last crusade “?

  34. Jake

I think it’s more that they are tired of being told that things HAVE to change and they HAVE TO ACCEPT IT.

  35. Mason

A female Indiana Jones? I wish they just ended with Kingdom of the crystal skull. Disney is committing suicide.

  36. Dman

Really bad choice. I smell a big bomb coming. They should have just had Harrison do a brief introduction like in the Young Indy series like he is telling a story from his youth and recast a Young Indiana Jones and maybe younger versions of the other characters from the earlier films. Maybe in his 20s. When will Disney finally say it’s OK to have a regular male, macho hero?

  37. Shane

Are we really surprised after the destruction they call star wars.

  38. Pheo smith

Changing areil did it for us tired them changing our movies stop

  39. Silp

    No …Yodahotbed!
“I’m the hotb?” No …Yoda hotb!

  40. Roberto

The Indiana Jones movies are not relevant to the “woke” crowd. Indiana Jones represents the guy who has pursued the ultimate goal in his chosen profession for his whole life. This is something the woke people will never understand and that is why this movie won’t do well in a theaters. Plus with all the allegations about Disney and company, who knows what’s going to happen. I myself love The Indiana Jones franchise but just like him. I’m an old-timer longing for the good old days. Go Indy!

  41. Okay Disney, you need to stop trying to recreate the magic that George Lucas created with Star Wars. (Because you’ve milked that for all it’s worth) And stop trying to recreated the magic of Spielberg and Lucas together.

  42. If we change Black Panther and Zorro to white dudes and Laura Croft to a man and people complain, does that make them toxic fans too for complaining? All things being equal and all.

  43. Simon

They should have ended it with The Last Crusade as in the Final Crusade. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was okay but not as good.as the first Three movies.

  44. Terry Rosario Jr

Kathleen Kennedy is. A train wreck and I am being nice. Calling Kathleen Kennedy is a compliment. This lady is a villain . She is a straight up villain.

  45. Brian

Just do the movie. I’m a huge fan of Harrison Ford so it dont matter. It’s for the people and fans, all that Disney wants is money. All them major studios are only out for money. Indiana Jones for life.

  46. Jeff

These are complete rumors as it was confirmed multiple times that no test screenings have been shown at all.

  47. Dover

Ok. I didn’t read everyone’s response but I don’t understand why it has to be so complicated. We have a father (Connery) and a son (Harrison Ford/Indie) in the third installment. We have another father (Ford) and son ( Shia LaBeouf) on the fourth installment. Why can’t there be a fifth with father (Ford) and son (LaBeouf), if LaBeouf is interested in the role, to take up the reins just like Connery and Ford. I have to say , I did not care for episode 2 but loved the rest. Leave Indy alive to help LaBeouf assume the role of Indy(Ill). If there is a sixth installment just write the role as Ford died and have actors/actresses offer condolences to LaBeouf on the death of this father. Duh!

  48. Ion

It was gonna be a dumpster fire regardless. Crystal skull was the stupidest movie I’ve ever seen. I refuse to watch the non Canon absolute heretical kk star wars woke bs movies cause they’re so bad. Firing Gina Carano and killing pirates of the the caribbean is the final nail. So many great franchises ruined because off Disney kk and the lot can all go f themselves

  49. Why not just have Indiana retire with his wife Marion, and have his son take over and go on adventures have Indiana pass his HAT to his son as passing on the torch to his son.

  50. ChudII

Quit replacing males characters in movies with females. Go woke go broke. You think Disney would get that by now. Blind by ideology. Kinda gross and you can see Disney why Disney’s stock has pooped the bed.

  51. Steve

Maybe Disney should stop putting the same people who destroyed numerous other franchises in charge of new ones yet to be destroyed?

  52. Steve

    How cute, you are triggered.

  53. Terry Daniel

James Mangold has refuted all of these rumors. In fact, they haven’t had one screening of the movie.

  54. Whaddup

You’re going to quote Overlord DVD? Why not quote his hours of vitriol were he openly despises the “woke feminist agenda” at work to “destroy our childhoods”? Because it makes him, and his collaborative gang of incel YouTube friends, look like the maniacs they are.

  55. Jarrad

I don’t understand…same thing with Star wars. You have something that is true tried and tested..and works beautifully to the point it impacts and profits beyond belief..why mess with it?? To show that u too can be creative? Stop trying to change the formula around so much…stop trying to mess around with perfection. Either stick with the original “themes”..or the original feel of the the project…or leave it alone. I do believe Kathleen Kennedy may be a problem in this equation…I can’t be sure of that tho…what I do know is I haven’t been very impressed with any of the new Star wars projects aside from maybe the mandolorian…I grew up with Star wars..it was a big big part of my child hood…and still is. It just doesn’t feel authentic anymore. Something is missing. His name is George. Still..I would think with all the lives these movies have touched they could find someone who would honor and do any further projects correctly. Here’s a start…if you weren’t born yet when the original movies were made and released ..you prob shouldn’t be working on the script for a new one. I’m a no one..and creatively I could easily make a Star wars movie that the fans would love. I’ve been a huge fan since day one..and those are the kind of creative influences you need for success with these movies. Just saying

  56. Indyfan

The problem is all the pandering. The first step to making a good Indiana Jones movie is to first put yourself in a 1980’s movie makers mentality. Then once you have that mentality you have to now make a 1930’s style action/adventure movie. If you fail to do either of those things then your Indiana Jones is going to suck. Just like the TV series and the fourth film did. The ending where he marries Marianne being the only exception. I liked that personally. To recap, you need a 1980’s brain and a 1930’s movie or bust!

  57. Charlie the tower

Well… Enough has been said about swapping male characters with female ones and shoving it down to everyone’s throats like it’s progress and a better thing for all of us. Look at the most successful movie of the year. They did not try to swap Tom Cruise in Maverick; they just introduced new characters and focused on him.
These new waves of Disney going woke or super Pride has cost them much, and they have started to suffer the consequences. I love Indi and all their sequels. They should, as mentioned, hang Indi’s hat and whip and not touch the character any longer. Keep us with a great memory.

  58. Ryan

The quest to kill off every white male character continues. No real news here.

  59. Mickey Mouse

Why do they continue to let Kathleen Kennedy ruin everything she touches? Why wasn’t she fired a long time ago? What dirt does she have on the company that they keep her?

  60. Heather

    1. Quit pandering Disney! As a woman and someone who grew up watching the Indiana Jones movies I want you to stay true to the movies. It won’t hurt my feelings to see a man continue the role. On the flip side, put a woman in the role and I won’t bother to even watch it on Disney+.
    2. Why do a retirement movie? Nobody wants to see that unless you are truly never going to do another Indiana Jones movie ever! End the movie in true Indie fashion and move on.
    3. If you do plan on continuing the Indi movies, choose an up and coming actor. With an already established actor, they have already cemented their spot and could take it or leave it in the next movie. Choose an actor who has some recognition but not much. That is the kind of actor who would be willing to continue the roll and be appreciative of it. The idea is to get the current generation to remember the Indiana Jones movies fondly like my generation does. Can’t do that if you have to change actors for every movie.
    4. Lastly, remember this is a beloved set of movies. Stay true to the formula that has been set up. Don’t put anyone who wants to deviate to make the movie their own. It’s not about them. It’s about us, the viewers, and giving us what we want to see.

  61. Vicki

At some point in time every character ages out of the franchise. At this time Harrison Ford has become his father. Sean Connery aged put of the 007 franchise and with no more popular male action figure actors to take on the role it became necessary to “kill off” the male role model. Disney would be more successful with the Indiana Jones franchise if they turned Harrison Ford into the scholarly Dr. Ford with the tweed jacket and bi-focals, and allow his eminently qualified and Doctor of Archeology Son, to pursue the Lost tomb of Cleopatra, or some other fantastical find, with his father there to advise rather than shooting the guns and weilding the whip. Disney may find such a storyline more palatable to the audience which would also introduce their new “hero”. Indie’s backstory doesn’t support him having a daughter unless Disney wants to go the Laura Croft route and come up with a back story. That’s my thoughts as an avid reader and a fan of the franchise. I’m also old enough to know that every body ages and should be allowed to age gracefully and eventually die. Whether it be in a bed in their sleep or by a bullet received in true heroic fashion.

  62. Eric

Hollywood needs to grow a pair. Make the best version you can, make it make sense and honor the source material…quit asking the public..” Is this ok?” Even a lot of “flops” havegone on to finanicial success…or at least recoupe it’s investment with profits. That’s what’s wrong with things today..afraid of unapologetically realizing your vision.

  63. Yan

I just don’t understand why they can’t get Chris Pratt to take over, his the right fit and is perfect for the role. Who do I have to contact to make this happen?

  64. Wiggz

Panicked maybe, but they shouldn’t be surprised. They keep putting out woke garbage that no one is asking for and it keeps bombing. Only so many times you can crap on an audience/fanbase before they start to get the message.

  65. Raya

I grew up with Indiana Jones and had the poster on my wall. It was one of my favorite films. I have no desire to see women taking over roles that were played by men. It makes no sense. We do have a female Indy with the Tomb Raider franchise. I don’t care to see a female James bond. I know there
Is a similar character that exists. If they are going to replace Indy, it should be with another male character, or not at all.

  66. Greg

Disney should give the majority of fans what they want to see instead of replacing legacy characters with woke substitutes. Pandering to a loud minority is bad business and so cringe. None of these studios get it. Dr. Who, Ghost Busters, LOTR, Marvel, Star Wars, and now Indiana Jones all ruined in an effort to make “the story more equitable” or some BS, and then they wonder why it flops.

  67. Braegon

An Indy movie doesn’t have to be woke to be hot garbage, see Indy 4. Likely it’s a problem with knowing the vision of where this is going. There are plenty of dangerous secrets to uncover in the world–stick with that and you’ll be fine.

  68. Anti Woke

Just another example of forced diversity, killing off a major male character and replacing him with a female character.

  69. Robert

Oh boy! Indiana Jane I can hardly wait. Said nobody.

  70. Mr Pee Mack

    GO WOKE GO BROKE.
NO ONE WANTS A FEMALE INDIANA JONES, FEMALE BLACK PANTHER…woke culture is a joke

  71. Mr Pee Mack

Kennedy destroyed Star Wars and now this. She should have been fired long ago

  72. Barry Allen

Can he die in a plane crash?

  73. Bad Kitty No Milk Tonight

So suddenly Young Indiana Jones means nothing? Sick and tired of studios making movies that ignore the very history of the characters.

  74. Dodo

    Disney is the dark lord..
    Social engineering is the mission.

  75. Dan C

For a franchise like Disney with such creative resources to be pushing a 5th sequel of an old story boggles the mind. What a waste of time and money.

  76. Mark

    Don’t know, don’t care.
    Motion pictures are dead.
    Long live streaming.

  77. Jason

The Indiana Jones series should have ended after the 3rd film. Not only was it a fun movie… it had a great ending and it was called The Last Crusade. The 4th shouldn’t have been made, let alone this 5th film…

  78. Jkellz

Hollywoods become a wasteland of virtue signaling writers, directors, actors etc pushing woke BS that avg person can’t stand, Tyey sees enough of it online & in politics. They don’t want woke garbage shoved down throats 24/7. We all know woke when we see it. It includes gender & race swapping, changing sexual orientation of a known character. Destroying a classic story/character just to score some pts w/far left extremists & media. Virtue signaling. Trashing straights, white or both for really no reason other than, left pandering to identity politics crowd. Then when no1 wants to see the movie they ruined, they hurl an “ism” at people who don’t go, and if it’s a remake cuz Hollywood just loves redoing movies & to giving them woke makeovers, theyll label fans as some kind of “x’ist”.

They clearly tone-deaf & lose all credibility when they do that. Cuz Alien, Terminator, and name a horror movie with a final girl. Hardpressed to find a Denzel movie that most guys don’t like. Boyz in the Hood, New Jack City, Menace II Society. People don’t care bout race or gender when it comes to movies. They just don’t. Well, most don’t anyways. Media & woke Hollywood need to turn mirror on themselves & ask who are the real people obsessed bout these race/gender etc. Just make a good movie void of anything political-unless politics is essential to plot or hell even a character. But don’t just force it in there just cuz u wanna score pts with mob or narcissistically virtue signal from high horse. Obv they can do what they want, but keep expecting flops & bad receptions. Little Mermaid got a lot of pushback, but little had to do with actor. It had to do with trend of woke makeovers & constant need to change iconic characters & completely disregard lore, or what made those movies special. It’s all gay this, strong women that shoved down throat. I’m all for bad ass girl character, but it’s complete overkill now, and they also need to find the absolute most beta males to play every guy character now in half these movies. The commentary is so pathetic & loaded with pointless lines to explain how strong/independent women are. Or they’ll throw in line how in this “patriarchy” a women is paid so much less than a man, or how the can’t walk down the street without a cat call. It happens but gimme a break, way they paint it & while guys might do it more, it’s hardly a 1 way street there. See CatWomen, She-Hulk for just some examples of the cringe. Hollywood & media continue to believe one of two fallacies. Either that the loud mob on Twitter is a majority which it is so clearly not. Don’t care bout recent questionable election. Just travel country, go outside & talk to people in the flesh. Even Dems don’t like woke gabrage or censorship. It’s just too bad those things aren’t enough to turn em away until party gains sanity again & maybe I’ll go back then. Either they mistakenly believe mob is majority of the actually think they can just beat us ova the head with this woke nonsense til peeps start buying in. For those who believe in the latter, they got a rude awakening, cuz all they doing is making agenda more obv, and pushing more & more people away to other side, and making those who already departed or who were already on other side, just dig in more & willing to speak up more. It’s emboldening more & more peeps to speak up & is def backfiring. And it’s def not making any financial sense. Even social media where peeps should feel more comfortable to push extreme woke garbage, u see every woke movie, show, comment ratio’d. Yet the myth that most people want & agree with censorship & woke BS continues. But media playing a dangerous game pushing it. They gonna have to keep getting more extreme cuz that’s what happens with polarization when allow mobs to run amuck with extremism. But polls show what Americans think of media. It’s cuz of the lies yes, but also it’s the woke virtue signaling & being mothpieces & running cover for elites-including Hollywood. We might see NYT, WAPO, MSNBC & rest of em follow down same road we seeing CNJ travel down. They’d be smart to take the first exit they see, and head back other way. Don’t have to go all the way to right. Just get back to sanity & commonsense.

  79. Mrs A

    Isn’t Harrison Ford like 80?

Plus he’s young enough that he could carry the franchise long into the future. AAAAND it will also play well to the MASSIVE Chinese market.

So, there ya go, franchise saved, where’s my check?!?

  81. Tien Lee

    Dear Disney and Ms.Kennedy…
I don’t know what is wrong with Indy5’s various endings you guys have already shot, but I DO know this:

Indiana Jones would wind up in Heaven if he were a real person.
So please give him a chariot of fire, like Elijahbgot in the Bible, or something.

  82. Jono

Should have ended after Last Crusade. They rode off into the sunset and all were thoroughly entertaining.

    1. Sean

Agreed, plus lost the best person to continue the Indy series – River Phoenix

  83. There was a FIVE. How did I not know this!!!!

    1. Dana

It has not been released yet

  84. Martijn

None of this is true. It’s been confirmed multiple times there have been no test screenings. Overlord is a notorious anti-Kennedy wishful thinker and in no way, shape ir form a “source” (just someone with an opinion and a YouTube channel), and Disney is not in a panic (although I wouldn’t blame them for starting to get annoyed with every self-proclaimed Nostradamus who thinks ‘I dunno nothing but I no like anyway’ is the same as ‘woke’).

  85. Grey

What if they stopped doing remakes, officially kicked Kathleen off the shio entirely and tried making original content?

At the very least why not have people actually passionate about these franchises be at the helm. Mandalorian was decent for a reason. Andor is decent for a reason. The people running them *actually like the franchise.*

Witcher author hated his own books and is using the media spawned from them to whitewash the original work, and that show has its lead ditching.

  86. Bryan

They completely destroy it if they make it a series

  87. Mark

They should play Chris Prat as his son and then star him in future franchises.

  88. Jgee

    Karma.

  89. E

    Get woke go broke.

  90. Trajk Logik

Stop making movies that swap out the white male/female character with a female or minority (Karate Kid, Ghostbusters, Annie, etc.). They are trying to use big name movies to promote their woke agenda. It’s why the movies flop because the story is lame with no energy devoted to making a goid story because they think everyone will want to see a Indiana Jones, Ghostbusters and Karate Kid movie with main characters srx and race are switched. Just make movie about a black kid that learns karate and isn’t called Karate Kid. All they end up showng is their lack of creativity and political agenda.

  91. Disney should stick to cartoons.
They’ve cancelled their best cartoons to the woke mob.
Ol’ Walt is rolling in his grave right now.

  92. Jess

Maybe the test audiences suck? Lol idk. I for one want to see an Indy 5 movie. If Ford want to kill off his character, he should be able to. We all know Indy has had plenty of close calls.. it would make sense. But the part of me that loves him doesn’t want him to go!! Just retire in Egypt or something man, idk. But Disney, please put this out and oh short round as new Indy.. is perfect! Or Indy’s son!!

  93. DB

Her’s a novel concept for Disney – how about coming up with something new instead of reruns and sequels?

  94. jack

why does he have to be replaced? just end it on a good note, and kill the franchise off. they should have never resurrected star wars either. the people who work at Disney are complete and utter failures.

  95. As soon as I saw that Kathleen Kennedy was involved, I knew it would be a disaster.

  96. Dana

Been saying for years, fans want to see an Indiana Jones in his prime with another actor. Not as an 80 year old man or a woman. Fans love the character, so the right actor could absolutely re-boot the Franchise. THAT IS WHAT FANS REALLY WANT!!!!

  97. Doug

It’s real simple. Disney chose to support the Woke crowd and alienate the rest of us. Now they’re finding out that the woke crowd wasn’t the people spending on Disneys empire. The Conservative side is more than willing to spend their money elsewhere.

  98. Cees

Instead of the Indiana Jones role being taken over by a woman, how about if he actually BECOMES a woman? He could have the surgery and everything.

    1. Jimbi baggins

      This is the way.

  99. Scott

Stop changing the gender of great characters. We already have Tomb Raider which sucked. Isnt that enough Kathleen? Kathleen should be removed from the company imho as her leadership is questionable at best. She has no vision and thinks wokifying all the characters will lead to more views? More than Half the country says otherwise. I still havent watched she hulk nor captain marvel, nor any other marvel shows that you have decided to change the origin stories for. Leave the damn canon alone Kennedy. You do not represent what i see as the proper direction for super hero franchise nor iconic characters. Why dont you just make Mickey Mouse A drug addicted sexual deviant at this point. Im sure some intersectional group would approve. Stop the madness Disney.

I refuse to watch anything from Woke disney. No descriptive pronouns…etc. Also how many cartoon like superhero movies can anyone watch?

  101. Robert Johnson

Let Musk buy Disney and maybe they will start making good shows again.

I grew up watching Indiana Jones traveling the world having adventures in ancient run civilizations. But I have to say that the kingdom of the Skull want to appealing to me. I wonder what time period they’re exploring now, the 70s?

  103. Jimbi baggins

I watched one of the test movies and Indiana Jones touches an idolat the same time as the Tomb Raider woman. Like the movie Big or Freaky Friday they switch bodies. Indiana is now a tight shorts wearing woman and Tomb Raider is now a 80 year old man. There’s nothing Woke about it, just good family entertainment. LOL if you read this far.

  104. Anthony

reimagining Raiders with a female lead? oh…Lara Croft…Shuri inheriting the Black Panther mantle? why not? it is a family thing after all.

  105. Notyourbusiness

This is such a stupid premise. The 4th movie was the death of this series. Disney is a failed cash grab that doesn’t even qualify to be the shadow of it’s former self. I hope they go bankrupt and disappear. The series doesn’t deserve this much noise anymore. Enjoy the classics and figure out your own closure. Because anything this Disney does will just ruin what you love all the more.

Disney panics after movie that hasn’t released yet flops, following the successful release of critically acclaimed and box office success Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Anti-WOKE activists rejoice.

The can’t kill Indy, that would 1. Be stupid and 2. Ruin any continuity with Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.

Old Indy is shown with an eyepatch. Why not have him badly injured and he quietly rides off into the sunset. Only Sahla knows where he went. If I remember the intro of Old Indy from the YIJC, the person who met him never heard of him. This would keep keep the stories together.

I’m afraid of what they will do to Indy after Crystal Skull. Have him run over by a steam roller then inflate like a cartoon character?? It would be on par with surviving a nuclear blast in a fridge.

Can’t really speculate. I’d rather read “true film critics” review before I can comment. However, Indiana Jones should pass the torch, but here nothing can be set in stone. It all depends on the story and the actors and a great director. I’ve enjoyed all the previous IJ films, so I’ll just wait and see.

  109. Douglas

Don’t let this distract you from the fact that in 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn’t commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade, into the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, and if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team.

  110. Pete

How can they call it a flop when it doesn’t even come out until june 2023? Too many times critics see and hate movies before they general public who then love it when it finally releases.

  111. Bob

Hahahahaha Disney can fall into the ocean. Used to be the place to go, now it’s the place to avoid and watch crumble

  112. We named the dog Indiana

Indiana Jones is meant to be stay alive, telling his stories with an eye patch and cane. THAT is canon. It was in the TV show. No one ever replaced him. We never saw him killed off. It’s set in a past time, not having anything relating to modern audiences. Anything forced outside of the mythology of Indiana Jones WILL FAIL.
We saw it with Star Wars. They need to stick to the myth, character and lean into it. Let it be like the end of each movie, it just ends the story of the film. We dont need to know what is next or coming. We dont need a female version, or a new male version. It isn’t James Bond.
