First of all the price increased once as we’ve all seen from the original prices. There’s no guarantee that it’s going to increase a second time this year let alone next year. Why make people worry about something that hasn’t happened yet? You just become part of the problem when you speculate needlessly.
If Disney wanted to minimize crowd levels, they could, they choose not to…iger or not, they will choose to make ridiculous amounts of money and they should BUT not at the expense of “herding cattle” and out of that cattle- every 6 out 10 have a bad experience. Sooner than later the good % of your visitors will be the local “nitwits” that cut lines, fight and cause disruptions but attend because they take advantage of the price of tickets afforded to them.
Do away with it and bring back the fast pass. Genie + is another way to increase $$$$ for Disney,
Disney is making it impossible for a lot of families to enjoy now because of the cost.
Disney is very fast becoming a place that the average family can not afford. When their guest numbers and their $$$$ go down things will change. Unfortunately Disney has forgot that for every negative comment or every negative experience their customers experience it will cost them. People do reach their limit and they will start to experience customer lost. A lot of those individuals will never come back. People are getting over Disney
Hated fast pass. You don’t need to be on your phone all day. Very little actually. Those people choose to be on their phones and most likely usually are anyway
Universal ‘s system is totally different. You can go up to any ride at any time and get right on. The expresses are expensive so not many people buy them. As a result, most people are in standby and the standby lines moves very quickly. It’s a great system. The existence of Express doesn’t penalize people without it. People without Genie+ stand in lines that barely move.
Just came back from Disney and had not intended on buying Genie+ but ended up doing it for $189 for our family with tax. When fast passes were free, we tried to maximize getting as many as we could by snagging another one as soon as our window opened. We tried to do the same with Genie+, however, the rides that we wanted to fastpass were “sold out”. Spent 5 hours in line for Tower of Terror only to get to the elevator and have it shut down for technical difficulties. We were escorted out a side exit and given two free Genie+ passes, however the rides worth using them on had no more availability. And, since spending that long in a line, we ran out of time to wait in line for other rides prior to a dinner reservation. If we hadn’t been 20+ year Disney fans with DVC, and this was our first experience at the parks, it would definitely be our last.
We recently returned from Disneyland and utilized Genie+ everyday for our family of 4. We did not buy any lightening lane passes because on both passes you use the same line to enter the ride. Chatting with people in line that had bought the lightening lane pass felt they still waited in line as long as when they before would have just gotten a fast pass. I’m disappointed in how the disney parks have become so expensive. I think Walt would be very disappointed in how the parks are becoming less about the experience and more about money. That was not his vision ever
It’s hit a new level.. I would rather go into Virtual Disney on the MetaQuest 2 and experience my entire day.. Yea go all the way from the rides to waiting in line for the bathroom to picking food. Its only fitting for the ultimate game. “You’re doing it Peter” reference Peter Pan pretending to eat dinner with imaginary food in movie Hook staring Robin Williams. Thinking.. Then again think fast new and old attractions would appear almost instantly.
Go back to fast pass system. It is sad to see people walking around constantly looking at their phones with Disney’s Genie. It has taken away from the enjoyment of visiting the Happiest Place on Earth. I
know that Walt would not have be happy with not making this affordable for families to enjoy.

This is disgusting.
It’s as if they want to turn WDW into a “lifestyles of the rich and famous”-only place.
Rather than the most magical place in the world.

We stopped going once priced went triple digits. Between the high prices and extreme crowds, the park experience just isn’t worth it.

Not going to happen. If it keeps the trash out Im all for it!
D
Hasn’t kept you out yet, what a trashy comment to make.

@D Agreed!!

Give back people the fast pass. I really dislike genie +, you see people staring at their phones all day. Takes away from living in the moment.

Still cheaper than universal! They charge $110 per person on a slow day. And $329 the week of Christmas and that does NOT include park admission
JoannA
Exactly. Somehow noone talks about how expensive Universal is.

I have, with my family, been to WDW several time since 1995. I would like to see the Fast Passes return.
