I hope so , cast members are the heart and souls of Disney.
So many go above and beyond . They can make your visit magical just by their kindness and smile .

I hope so! My daughter was the CP Jan to March 15 2020. Waited months to get rehired. Found a job over at sea world water park as a lifeguard. Then she was asked back and went. But it was a totally different atmosphere Not a good working conditions as before they had. I will say the best dorm apartments that she got was gorgeous!
But working in the park was much harder this time. She was a lifeguard but asked for mousekeeping which she got transferred too
People were treating cm terribly! They were angry! Took it out on the CN. And they don’t get paid enough. Especially the CP kids! There is tears by so many. Long hours! Overworked!
I say get rid of the Genue + and LL that Iger “started!” People forget that he started that program!

He wasn’t the best, but Chapek was worse.

CEO’s have to remember, it’s the cast membe who are the first line of contact for the Disney companies. Mr Iger should remember that also and not be self centered

Walt Disneys parks are no longer his.
We spend ALOT A money to go.
So we can’t sit on phones family time at parks are lost. Unless you can buy VIP IM LUCKY I can go yearly last Few.
My biggest charging for 3-4 yr old and they can’t ride..cast members this year were all AWESOME Epcot great.. Hollywood over crowded parking is a rip.
Souvenir alone they making it so why so expensive maybe A CEO NEED. A pay cut prices keep going up we going never return.
        Bring Walt’s Disney Back.

I’m a retired cast member and was at Disney Springs on Wednesday and Friday. I asked several cast members how they felt about the weekends event and they, like we are trained to do, pretty much “no comment” UNTIL I showed them I was a cast member then the smiles came out with many saying “Christmas came early”. I still have numerous friends at WD travel company who have been disgusted with the politics thrown into the workplace and we were Facebook cheering when the news hit!

Politics in the workplace. Not sure what you mean but Iger is the author and creator of sticking his nose into politics. So son of satan is gone but the original satan is back. I never thought I’d say it but Eisner was better than both – but I am not only looking for a high stock price and over saturating the marketplace (oh wait the stock has sucked for years)

I cant help but think this was all planned in the first place. As Chapek was brought in to be a “hired gun” to make all these changes and cuts and then removed and Igar put back in place. We will see if things change back for the better and those that lost jobs are brought back but have a bad feeling they will take the “well we can’t change things back” approach and let Chapek be the scapegoat. End the end its a business and I can see them doing this at the employees and theme park enthusiasts expense just so they can make more money when the company is sold to Apple. Again, I hope this isn’t thw case and I’m conspiracy chasing.

This would never have even occured to me two+ years ago, but I have to admit that NOW: I thought of that very possibility.

        2. Steve

It was definitely planned. Iger never left, Disney admitted they were paying him the whole time. Chapek was brought in to take the hit for bad PR moves they wanted to make.

Don’t expect anything Chapek did to be meaningfully reversed.

      2. Doug

I’m a former CM during the Eisner era. I am afraid to admit but Eisner was better. I simply think Disney is a sinking ship

    2. Buck Fiden

The easiest solution is for the Board to disregard any CEO candidate who has EVER donated funds to the DNC.

Just keep the family-hating woketards out.

I’d basically say that you’re the one who should stay away and make the experience better for everyone.

        1. Steve

No, it’s you. No one wants your degenerate politics.

      2. S Nogg

Seems like you’re the one who should stay away and make the experience more pleasant for everyone.

        Sheesh.

I am from the UK and returned here last week. So many of us couldn’t wait to get back to see you all and i have to same it wasn’t the same… it terrible but different. I hated being on my phone trying to book rides even with a DAS pass it was just time consuming unsociable with my grandchildren and down and out a pain in the neck. I so wanted to come back and have that experience of magical life but it wasn’t so much. The highlight Chew Bacca in Star Wars land was magical ..he sat with my son in his wheelchair for 10 mins hugged me made me cry he/she was amazing and truly a credit to Hollywood studios. I hope to come back but with all this booking it was a lot of money per park to just be on my phone. The cast members 90% were great but a few very miserable and blunt…..come on Mr Iger make the magic happen again 🙏

If you are looking fr salvation from Iger don’t expect it. Chapek was just continuing what Iger started – he is not a good human being – but then I don’t measure a persons value by if he raises stock prices. Plus I am still connected with cast members and I have not hear the “Huzzah’s” others have. Out of the frying pan into the fire was one comment. The rot in Disney is not top management deep

    1. Minnie

You sound like a fun guy to be around. 🙄

      1. Steve

Oh I guess he needs to get the smoke blown up his ass like everyone else?

        Iger destroyed Disney. Fact.

  7. Gary

We shall see what he does or does not do so he might get the heave ho too!

  8. Mickeymouse3

Not an Iger fan. Never was. Never will be, but, anyone is better than penny-pinching bob paycheck. Iger’s reinstatement remains to be seen if he is the savior Disney needs. We all hope Iger brings back some of the lost perks, but remember, he initiated a lot of them. Paycheck just executed them.

  9. Joe H

At least Iger is linking Disney with storytelling. That combined with his statement about losing the “soul” makes me think that things will be moving in the right direction.

    1. Michelle

Having worked fr WDW during both the Eisner and Iger regimes, I have to say that Eisner was the best of the lot. I loved working during his leadership. Once Iger came in, we were treated as if we were replaceable. It was no longer about the magic, but about the money… Chapek just continued what Iger started and when it all started going sour Chapek took the blame. Iger will not be the savior people wish for…. he will just pacify from the beginning and then I foresee him selling out to the highest bidder.

    2. Steve

Too bad storytelling is a euphemism for agenda pushing.

      1. Me

You seem like a wonderful person to be around…

        1. Steve

Truth hurts if you are delusional.

  10. Joy

It’s a simplie solution, yet one that will take work, effort and time to resolve.
Get back to Disney founding principals, starting with Mr. Iger himself leading by example. Arm your cast members with the tools & resources to make the magic happen! The rest will fall into place, happy cast members equal happy guests. Happy Guests equal lifelong relationships with Mickey & all his friends, leading to magic happening. The magic of Hope, always believing and returning to where your Hope & Dreams are anchored, even if it is anchored with Pixie Dust!
