This is probably an unpopular opinion (bracing for backlash, lol) But we actually weren’t fans of MNSSHP. We went Sept 9th. The year prior, my daughter and I went to Boo To You due to Covid restrictions. Granted, the parks were less crowded in general last year. But we liked Boo To You soooo much more! It felt more intimate and laid back. All the stuff we saw in the MNSSHP parade this year were also at Boo, but as small cavalcades throughout the evening. I know people complained about that, but I liked it that way! No crowds stepping on your toes and pushing in front of you for the best spot like they did at MNSSHP parade. No matter where you were, you got a view of the cavalcades as they came by. Lines for treats and drinks at Boo weren’t long. We got free bottled water, popcorn and ice cream. None of that at MNSSHP, unless you wanted to stand in long lines for a bit of candy they were giving to kids trick or treating, lol! The ghosts were out on the lawn in front of Haunted Mansion at Boo instead of near the entrance like they were at MNSSHP, so you could actually get pictures with them and the mansion in the background. All rides were walk on at Boo except Mine Train, but even that was only 15-20 minutes. MNSSHP was chaos! You could barely walk around unless you were in Frontier Land. Lines were insane. Pirates had a 45 minute wait! I feel like you’re basically paying all that extra money for Halloween fireworks and a parade with MNSSHP. It’s not worth the insane crowds. If we ever go in the fall again, we’ll skip that party. As the article says, you still have all the decorations and seasonal treats/drinks on regular days, so it feels very festive. I’ve heard if you go to WDW in October, Grand Floridian has chocolate haunted mansion carriage and decorations! It’s free to see that, lol
