I must assume the Disney board knew what it was doing in promoting Chapek. But maybe not. And many of the price increases occurred before he was promoted. But the fact of price increases, not tied to specific supervisors, has indeed reduced the magic. In addition to not-free examples, room prices and food prices have increased beyond inflationary bounds. It’s a fun place to visit and work, but maybe not so much anymore.

Don’t forget the little bottles of shampoo, shower gel and ect. Dang it, if I’m paying $600-$700 a night you BETTER be giving me bottles to take home!

I’m a Disney vacation club member and I’m sick and tired of trying to get the resort I want and the time that I want only to be told there are no reservations left please stop selling vacation club until you can accommodate your people that I’ve had it for 20 years

    1. Thats so true! Same here, dvc for about 16 years and have decided to move on from dvc, rising yearly dues, as well as every possible way to be nickle and dime every time i go there…was at DL late july, WDW in February….pretty sure those were the last times for me..btw- never used anything but stood in line for a ride and got on everything we wanted. Wasnt going to pay any extra for something that should be included in the $120 per person to enter the park…now that is the ripoff and so disappointing! Stop going and prices will eventually drop!!

  4. I’m a Disney stock holder, although little but still, and a DVC. I’m border line wether I should divest myself of anything Disney. Nothing but a money grab anymore

Former cast member, stock holder (hoping it comes back in order to dump it) and “too many times to count” been in the parks.

This is NOT ONLY Chapek it IS also Iger. It is unattainable for the avg family to visit and this is exactly NOT why it was built. These CEO’s are paid bajoillions of dollars raked off the company for what? NOTHING! I am tired of the people say they are worth it – NO ONE is worth what Iger got and chapek is not worth the gum on the bottom of my show I would now pick up on Mainstreet.

This is PURE AND SIMPLE GREED – EXACLT what is wrong with our world. They should enjoy their earthly rewards while they have them.

Not a freebie, but the loss of the meal plan puts a big dent in my motivation to go back.

Seems to be the new economics. Nickel and dime the customer to until they quit showing up. Budget airlines do it, Vegas does it, The difference with Disney is they don’t even give you a budget price to get in. They have raised resorts and tickets, then got rid of the add ons that were included with those price making you pay for what was always part of the experience. It is a money grab. It is far and away above average cost of doing business increases. Also the way you have to spend all of your time on the app takes most of the Magic away. Pretty crappy way to treat the people that make your paycheck possible.

We have been going multiple times per year since 2008, taking the kids any chance we had. We decided after the last trip that it has indeed lost the magic it once had. We may not by big money to Disney, so maybe they won’t miss it. But maybe if enough small spenders don’t come back, they will reverse course on some of these decisions.

How about a two-day boycott of all of the Disney parks? Might that send a message?

Genie + totally breaks the concept of genies because genies give you free stuff.

The renewal price increase from the gold pass (required for DVC members) to sorcerer was over 25%, so I dropped the AP after almost thirty years. I have also set a maximum amount that I will spend each year on the park pass. No park hopper, one park per day. No more souvenirs or merchandise. As the price goes up, the number of days spent in the parks (and the amount of money spent) will go down accordingly. My Disney Experience is, quite simply, not worth the price. My only reason to go now is an annual reunion with friends that I don’t see during the rest of the year.

Stop complaining if you’re not willing to do something about it. Boycott ALL things Disney until real changes are made and the greedy money grab ends. No Disney+, no Disney movies or toys. Send a message or continue to be fleeced and unappreciated. You have the power to make changes.
