This line happens every year. But it’s nothing compared to the days before covid crowd control when I made the silly mistake of trying to visit during Christmas week. The line just to PASS THROUGH the arch from fantasyland to Adventureland extended halfway down Main Streer! There was literally a big wall of people blocking the wide entrance.
We were there a couple weeks ago and the lightning lane extended to the bridge into critter country. I thought that was bad but this is just ridiculous. I know that fastpass will never come back in its previous form but we never had to wait in a line like that in order to use it.
As someone who used to be an AP holder, and because I have a school aged child and a teacher myself, we always went during high peak times when schools were closed, and I have never experienced this type of crowding, and we typically go during the week of Thanksgiving and Christimas Eve. And we certainly never experienced the long lines for Fast Pass as we have seen with those that purchased the genie plus. We went with the expectation of, it’s the holidays, expect crowds, and whatever we get to experience is a bonus. However, the new system is supposed to make the overall experience better and in my opinion it has gotten worse.
This is just the regular crowds for the Jack Skellington overlay. When the Christmas Tour comes back, we did that one year and got front of the line to Haunted Mansion and It’s A Small World, seats for the parade with a big gingerperson cookie and cocoa in a souvenir mug, not to mention an informative tour.

It’s NOT Christas week!
The park reservation system exists to prevent overcrowding. Wristbands and Genie+ were to manage overcrowding too!

But now you have Chapek insisting that park reservations prevent things like this and give guests the ultimate guest experience…

Yes. And I see you aren’t the only one who doesn’t buy that garbage.

I was there the other day. The overcrowding situation was obscene and, I believe, potentially dangerous.

At this point, it’s no longer an enjoyable experience and I’ll stay home with my memories from the ’60s to 2015.
