That is exactly why they are deceiving us into thinking they are keeping capacity numbers low. What are the numbers Bob? Why are you not releasing how many people you actually let in per day? Why, I will tell you, by keeping that number secret, you have the ammunition to say, “See! We told you we have to raise prices again to keep the numbers and wait times lower. Basic economics, supply and demand..bla bla bla” So tired of hearing the same thing from him every time he speaks. Lower capacity limits bob. Its not rocket science. You are the one artificially increasing demand by letting in more folks than the park can comfortably hold. Paying your employees a livable wage would also bring in more staff, so stop blaming everyone but yourself. I just solved both of your major problems in one paragraph. You want to keep your precious park pass reservation system and genie+? Then prove to us it works.
What I heard from Chapek is, “blah blah, if you’re not rich, blah blah, then you don’t need to come to a Disney park. If you can, blah blah, afford my prices, then come”.
I have to admit, I’m going to Disneyland in early December, and at this rate, it will be the last time I go. Between wait times and price increases, it’s just no longer feasible to go to Disney anymore.
Oddly Universal’s Annual pass seems to just let you go, pretty much any day you want. I miss when my Disney AP would allow that.
Disney’s motto… because there was a nickel to be had.
What’s crazy to me is that people are paying these insane prices just to get in and then waiting hours for rides like Haunted Mansion and Radiator Springs Racers.
I call BS. That happens when it is down for a while and people rush to it when it comes back up. I had friends that were there and they had no issues riding everything they wanted (including RotR, twice) that day. The crowds were not out of control by any stretch.
