Ryan Johnson is clearly delusional l

      So true.

Why is Ryan saying he’s proud of the movie even a thing? No film maker is going to say the truth about their movie. Were people expecting him to say “I know my movie was garbage and it ruined the fanbase to a point that it has never recovered to this day” no film making is going to say that he/she knows their movie sucked. To this day TLJ is just a huge dumpster fire and the only thing that really surprises me is that no matter how awful that movie is JJ Abrams somehow managed to make an even worst piece of garbage with Rise of Skywalker.

Ryan can say whatever he wants. He’s a great filmmaker but sadly he made a horrible Star Wars movie. This is just the way he’s owning to the fact that he messed up. He knows that, he’s not an idiot.

Embraced Luke with a horribly written movie to tear down his past. Johnson is recently on some kind of mission to try and rewrite history. He nearly killed off the franchise and Disney has had to struggle with and react to that fact ever since.

The arrogance of the man is honestly why he should never be allowed to touch a Star Wars movie ever ever ever EVER again. House of Knives was fantastic, clearly he can direct. I just don’t understand why he felt the need to unilaterally rewrite an established universe with zero consultation on any current writers or film makers who could have helped him understand the source material. He clearly didn’t.

Just like the saying, the cold embrace of death.

Embraced him so much that Mark Hamill had to think of the character as “Jake Skywalker” in order to get through his performance.

The entire point of RotJ was Sidious setting up a scenario where Luke’s refusal to draw on the Darkside is the very thing that is leading to the deaths of his friends and the destruction of the Rebel Alliance as the leaking of the second Death Star’s location was done intentionally. The entire final battle was set up to turn Luke so that Sidious could gain a more powerful apprentice.

Vader’s role is to deny Luke any form of aid or succor to show him that his faith in his father’s ability to be redeemed was misplaced. Every second Vader gets in the way of Luke striking down the Emperor he is responsible for the death of more of his allies and the increasing likelihood of Han and Leia’s death on Endor.

After struggling with this dilemma and ultimately managing to reign in his emotions, the final gut punch from Vader is that Luke failed to hide Leia’s identity and has put her at risk through his own inaction as Vader threatens to kill him and force Leia to join the Darkside instead. Luke gives in for a brief moment as he does in TLJ but ultimately realizes that acting on his rage and anger to strike down his father and the Emperor will only continue the cycle and throws down his weapon.

It’s the core of Star Wars and the Saga as a whole. And Johnson has Luke repeat that mistake as if he’d never gone through such a crucible and come out the other side singed by his brush with the Darkside but stronger and more certain for it.
