Disney has a bunch of drainage ditches built to carry standing water away and prevent mosquitos. Hurricane downpours of course dump much more water than they were intended to carry away but it’s still much better than most areas that have nothing. And the water will go away quicker from Disney than most places.
I was in Orlando during Ian on Wednesday Night it was so bad, my child was so scared….. it was truly insane. We will return back on 10/09.
My prayers to everyone in SWFL right now 🥺
I worked the day after. Unpleasant to say the least. It is not enjoyable to be told we ruined your vacation because of a hurricane. Or to be told we had better be open cause your sick of sitting in your hotel room. I was yelled at several times during the day. So we’re many others. Bottom line, Be kind to cast members. It’s not our fault. Don’t take your frustrations out on us. If you don’t want to deal with a natural disaster, plan your vacation at a different time of year. Many are trapped inside their homes or have lost their homes, but they did all they could to come in to make your day magical. It costs nothing to be kind.
I’m sorry you even have to deal with this crap!! People are SO petty and it makes me sad! We had to leave early a few years ago during hurricane 🌀 Matthew. It sucked, but guess what we were fine!! I really think that Disney would bend over backwards to make things right on getting you back in the parks for your next visit. Keep doing a great job and try your best to discount the idiots!
I’m local, and heading to Disneyworld today. Originally we were ro be at Wilderness in our RV. Got a call yesterday afternoon and was told they are still assessing damage there. Our choice was to receive a full refund of everything or be assigned another resort, not of our choosing. I’m a gambler, so I told them as long as it wasn’t any POP, I’m game. An hour later, they put us in a Riverview Room at Port Orleans. Won’t know what room number/building until later today. So, I’ll put the RV back into storage this morning. Not the end of the world. I’m just glad everyone stayed safe and our Cast Memeber who called was very apologetic and sweet.
God bless everybody stay strong and be safe i can’t make up what are wrongs i did but i’m glad she found her place my son will be okay that’s what matters to me the family will always be loved that’s very happy

Seems like a lot of damage at Disney and still in Florida. Perhaps Disney needs to stay closed through the weekend.

You’re probably right
