You know where the Disney photographers are, if you do not want to be in the photos then pay attention to where you are walking and stay out of the photos. Have seen many times people almost walk into the people or between people and the camera’s, or even almost right into the camera, because they are rude or not paying attention.
It is also different for someone to get photos as a memory with the whole family and/or friends, than it is for a vlogger or influencer who is there just to post thier opinions, and In some cases make money from thier posts.
People that outright that are rude with thier cameras or whatever need to stop period. Disney has already banned sticks and other extensions for safety reasons.
I am at DisneyWorld right now. I saw 3 selfie sticks yesterday in animal kingdom. I saw they were banned as well. 2 of the 3 people did not have them telescoping out they were just holding them by the handle. The third person had it all the way out and this by far was the most annoying thing. He was in front of me going onto flight of passage. We passed several cast members and not a single one said anything as we walked by. I’m not sure why this rule isn’t being enforced. I personally have never encountered a vlogger at any parks.
Sheryl, handles are not selfie sticks. As long as they can fit in a backpack and don’t extend more than 6 inches, they are allowed. Learn the rules before you complain.

The occasional
use to capture a memory is fine. It’s the general invasiveness that devices with screens have on others trying to enjoy the parks that has gotten out of hand. When we used real cameras and handheld video devices it didn’t seem as annoying. We’ve stopped caring about how we are affecting others. Blame social media where everyone thinks they deserve to be seen and heard.

No it isn’t. Photography is photography. If Disney is allowed to film people without getting proper written consent, then I should also be allowed to take a photograph of my family. Banning all cameras is fascism.
The rules set by private property owners say otherwise. It’s not your call whether you are allowed to take photos if park staff can. And imagine thinking that Disneyland rules are fascism. It’s not the law. Don’t like it, don’t go there.

Dan, Disney is a private company. Nothing they require can legitimately be called “fascism.” Secondly, when your family pictures get in the way of my faimiy’s experience. It isn’t unreasonable to ask you to stop.
My family has had enough of jackasses who think they have the right to photograph us. We stop them and make them erase any pics of us. We have had to stop people from photographing our grandsons playing. Who do people think they are? We hate rude people. If we ever catch our photos on line without our permission we will sue!!
You have no right to privacy when in a public space. Your lawsuit would need a lawsuit, because it would get thrown out of court so fast… you’d end up with whiplash.
It is different when a person posts their own pics than when some ass posts pics of others. If my family chooses to take pictures of each other then fine but no one has any reason to take pictures of our family. This violates our rights.

100% agree with you on this…what is wrong with these 50year old guys…I reported a video from best life. They filed my daughter the whole time they were walking and making money. Didn’t bother blurring the face of my child…they vlogers have no respect…
iove the vlogs. for thise who cant go often, it is like being there experiencing the magic, the food the rides, etc. most are discreet and do not seem to interfere with guests.
People just don’t understand or get it there’s no such thing as privacy in public. If you want privacy stay at home behind closed doors and make sure you keep your curtains closed as well.
Hey Mick,
You’re an idiot and should really think it through.
The set up of pictures the theme parks have in place already for decades are not in the way of people enjoying the ride, the spectacle or in your face.
Obviously you’re one of them who vlog and should find better things to do with your time at a theme park, like I don’t know, enjoy the ride or your family and friends that your with!!!!
Mick – You are being short sighted and crazy! As a long time Disney fan. I ALWAYS consider how my actions of taking pictures or recording my family experience might impact others. But it has gotten to where the JERKS of the world don’t care. And as long as a visitor can use the same descression as Disney cast members then photography should continue. But Influencers , Vloggers & of course Chapek are ruining disney and its time to take a stand. Now spout mindless drivel as you just did.
I think that your going to far. If you choreograph all your pics, okay. Not everyone does that. I take at the moment pics. Not trying to take illegal pics of anyone purposely but are you going to edit every single pic you take in a crowded WDW park. I think not.
Couldn’t agree more!!! They make cash off of filming everyone and they feel they should have a red carpet for them when they arrive. Can’t stand them in the parks.
Especially the IG and Tok influencers with their fashion photoshoots, like who cares what you are wearing at the parks in 100+humidity temperatures. Then you got those influencers that are doing stupid stunts or trending dance moves just for clout
On one aspect, I get it. Sometimes vloggers get in the way when they are not paying attention while walking. Maybe ban that, and on rides. But another aspect it is helpful to watch a few of the famous vloggers like Tim Tracker and WDW Couple. They give good honest reviews and also show what is new and what to plan for in the parks to make vacation planning much easier.
Yes. I agree. Tim Tracker and others like him are very considerate of when and how they are filming. It’s been a few years since my last visit, so things may have changed, but people in general, whether they have a camera in their face or not can be annoying if they are not paying attention to where they are walking or when they stop abruptly.
Vloggers are totally helpful. I see the new merch, food, and what’s going on. I was ready to plan a trip to some of the other Disney’s, but if I don’t know what’s going on screw them. They overcharge as it is. We need all the previews, tips, and help we can get to plan a better day. I see vloggers at Disneyland and they do nothing to bother anyone. There not filming people. That’s just in people’s minds because they think they are something special.
I enjoy many vloggers , and they all appear very intuned to not showing people without permission. Thank God for those that are showing how to use genie +. They work hard , and getting paid is part of being a freelancer. I often hear them complain also of people on rides using flash and generally disrupting others enjoyment , and educating the public.
Vloggers and influencers are filming areas and people for profit, which tells me they need permission from all people they’re filming in writing. Eventually I see lawsuits starting up, personally, if someone is making money on my actions, I definitely want my share.
BAN THEM ALL.
Incorrect. If the vlogger has over 1 million views on said video then you could figure out how much they made from that video. Then possibly if they were to get more subscribers or followers after that video, then future profits could be shared as well. And I could argue that it was due to the actors involved who were not compensated for their efforts. I’m not a lawyer btw. 🤣
I see no issues. I have a few people on my tiktok who go live at Disney world and Disney land. It’s great to see everything especially if you can’t afford to go
I was there yesterday for the not so spooky party and I recorded tons of video. Not one cast member said anything to me. This was all on a phone but I question what the real story and policy is here vs fear mongering. Universal hosts special events so vloggers can get their content because they know it drives more business at their parks… I’m a passholder, been to Disney a lot and no one taking photos or videos has never ruined my experience. Big cameras and all, I just don’t care, it’s not in the way because Disney is massive, just move if you don’t like it.
You’re in a PUBLIC space… you basically have no rights when in regards to privacy (unless you’re in the bathroom). I could legally follow you around and take pics and video all day and nothing you could do about it, aside from complain to someone within the Disney Staff which could get me in trouble… like being told to stop it or leave the park. But no court in the U.S. is going to do anything other than toss the case out.
Actually Disney parks are PRIVATE parks. Therefore the rules they set for their parks supersede any “public space” rules. In your example, if Disney sets a rule that says you are not to follow, interfere or harass any guest with pictures or video – you would be required to follow it or risk ejection from the park. Any court would agree since it was on private land and the rules were stated before you entered and agreed to such rules by buying a ticket.
Actually you are partially correct. It is Private Property and therefore courts will hardly ever get involved. If you have an accident in the parking lot of a privately owned business, police will tell you to settle it between yourselves as it is private property. Having typed this, Disney could certainly evict anyone for whatever reason they see fit.
I see no problem with the respectful vloggers. Just like any other guest, they should follow all guidelines. Disney has a set of rules for a reason. Petitions, people spouting off is unnecessary. Breathe. Smile.
No, because the regular guests take pictures, videos etc. I sometimes do a FB live when I enter Disneyland or riding on the top level of the Omnibus for my family and friends. I am not an influencer or vlogger. Perhaps some guidelines for vloggers.
everyone always has to take things too far. do you all really think it would be practical to ban all filming and photo taking? i just like taking pictures of things to remember, and my husband enjoys filming on rides with the flash OFF. i feel like this isn’t a matter of what rules disney has in place, but rather a matter of people being considerate of others. i wish people knew how to just be considerate and enjoy the park for what it is instead of trying to use it to make money. you can really smell the privilege on those types of people, taking up reservation spots to go to the park for an hour just to film themselves eating a new disneyland snack.
These are some super serious First World problems going on in this comment section. Oh my word, cry me a river. I guarantee that if you ask any of your children if their Disney vacation got “ruined” because of a vlogger or a random iPad they wouldn’t have a clue what you’re talking about. What you mean to say is, YOU — the adult — were simply annoyed. What we have here is adults mad at other adults that their expensive experience isn’t as perfect as they dreamed it would be. Add that to the list with things like 2 hour ride lines, yearly fee hikes, outrageous food pricing, reservation restrictions, capacity limits, etc.
Cherish the memories you had with your family. You think years down the road your kids are going to remember that random vlogger, or will they remember the amazing few days they had at a magical place with the people they love most.
It is just the typical adult Disney fan Karens that think people with 3 million subscribers got that because they were in the background of a video for 10 seconds.
I’d like to keep respectful vloggers. Not all of us can afford to go to Disney often, but we still like to “visit” the parks virtually for some Disney magic. Also, when you only get to go once every few years, it’s VERY helpful to watch these videos to come up with a plan for your days (what to eat, what to ride, how to do things, etc…) Trying to block others from having these helpful videos because you’re slightly annoyed is super privileged and makes me sad to think of having to plan my trips without their help.
Seems to me the solution isn’t to ban, but perhaps to “vet” or have “approved” vloggers (like the examples mentioned). Give them a unique lanyard so CMs know they’re allowed to be filming a bit more “professionally”. Have them do an online induction of do’s and don’ts to get said lanyard and periodically review their content.
Filming with a professional set up and no lanyard? Cast can tell them to pack it up and move along.
I do NOT think it should be banned. I learned my best info about the parks from vloggers! I also turn to these channels as a time of happiness and celebration with my family. Thousands upon thousands deoend on these good people. Resort1 TV and Tim and many others are kind and respectful. Keep the vlogs going!
It’s a typo. They happen all the time when typing on electronic devices. I’m sad that people need to be so hypercritical and judgemental. I hope you’re having a better day today. ❤️
The only advantage with vloggers, influences and such is to them only. The more folllowers, the more money they make. I would be fine with them and selfie sticks going away in every park!
Pro: My wife was once preyed on during a LIVE vlog cast by another elder Vlogger that hunts married women that Vlog in the Parks. This new change would have prevented that.

Yeah, even the 7 eleven where you bought gas is filming you without your permission. Get a life. Congrats though — Your level of entitlement should appear in the next issue of the Guinness Book of World Records.
I don’t think it’s a good idea to ban all vlogging and livestreaming from all the parks given that not all vloggers are disrespectful. There are plenty of Disney YouTubers we always appreciate including AdamTheWoo and Marky Mouse for example.
And Time Tracker, these guys will show off the new stuff and updates for these parks. So not ALL of these vloggers (I can’t believe I just added that to my browsers dictionary) are rude or inconsiderate, they follow the park rules especially Adam the Woo who DID get a life time ban to Disney overturned after awhile
Than God Disney! Please keep all vloguers and so called influencers and streaming banned! Not only society parasites and the worst use of technology avances, but also they ruin the experience and the magic and the opportunity for the rest of the people !! We don’t want and don’t need their opinions.
I can understand not letting the ride and inconsiderate ones do so, but Tim Tracker and his family for for an example are always kind and considerate at the parks. Taking away letting them and the ones who make videos for others that aren’t causing problems is ridiculous!
I think there’s a downside to this. While I haven’t been to a Disney park since before the bloggers really got going, I can’t say that I know what it’s like to have one of them around me. But the other side of it is that they provide very nice YouTube videos that many Disney fans like to watch. I even think it’s helped Disney by providing free infomercials and advertising, as it were, on youtube, and has very likely contributed to the crowds at Disney has been enjoying.
The Disney company is not stupid. The reason why they’ve been allowing it is probably because they realize that it was helping their attendance. I’m not sure why I took you at Disney has discontinued allowing it though. It could be that it’s just considered anathema in the polite Japanese culture. We’ll see if that policy carries over to America, we’re polite society was abandoned decades ago.
I understand se people may hate them but as a person who has never gone to Disney world or land. And not having enough money to go it’s expensive and this way was a way to actually see what is in these disney rides or whatever it’s just helps me to know if I do get enough money what to and where to go. Which might never happen but maybe it will. As disney is my fav. So I saddened tht this is happening but somethings become too much when u are just doing it for the whole ride like half of or start or the ending is fine bur the whole ride maybe it’s rude for some never have had experience tht though.
I enjoy looking at the pictures and lights and everything ,its for all the people who can’t afford to go there ,I also like to see people enjoying themselves and having fun and dreaming about someday just maybe I will have enough money to take my family so we just watch it on cable
Not all vloggers due it for profit. I have a full-time job, and living far away from Disney, I don’t get to get there much. I vlog but also, respectful. I only vlog certain things. Plus, anytime you go to a public outing, usually there are signs that say you may be filmed without compensation.
U know I like the vlogging I’m not rich enough to afford the prices to take my children and my parents couldn’t afford to take me so I like being able to see places I otherwise wouldn’t be able to see
I agree if a kid is in a stroller he’s too young to go anyways. Yeah I seen like 9 or 10 year olds and strollers which is kind of ridiculous because you’re just thinking why are they in a straw or they should be walking.
I think that it should be on a case by case basis. I know that there are some vloggers like Carrie Hope Fletcher who I watch who are completely respectful. She dosn’t do anything to upset other guests, and she doesn’t film on rides that are dark. She’s just a huge Disney fan enjoying the parks and documenting it not only for her fans but also to look back on in years to come.
I think there should be a etiquette rule book on the subject if they’re going to be allowed to film. But I don’t think they should ban it completely.
A place centered around young vulnerable aged children that doesn’t properly vet employees for charges of crimes against children not allowing cameras is a child trafficking trap. #boycottdisney #saveourchildren
PC DEV & MICHAEL KAY & ADDICTED TO THE MOUSE do great jobs at vlogging. EXCELLENT work and are not intrusive at all. Banning them is like taking away their livelihood and that’s not fair.
I think banning cameras is a bit harsh but i like the idea of banning like full on filming equipment and enforcing the no flash photography or video lighting. Vloggers and social media influencers get their money from filming and posting on their accounts such as TikTok, Instagram, FB, etc… And the vloggers give people a chance to see other parks and things if they’re unable to visit.
I think filming in Disney Parks are ok but like most of us in Europe, UK, Asia, Australia and New Zealand can’t always go to the park and Streaming and Recording should be allowed to show the experience to other countries oh can’t make it
Had some influencer ruin the new Rise of the Resistance ride because she decided to physically push past every to make sure she was at the front of the line so she could sit in the pilot seat with her phone out and record the entire ride with her phone up in the air instead of participating in the slightest with the interaction. So, not only did we crash into everything (because it’s a teamwork based attraction) due to her REFUSING to even lift a finger if it wasn’t to hit the record button, but our experience was cut short after our hour long wait because the ride had nothing additional to offer us because all we did was crash. Her poor boyfriend even begged her to at least try and he was trying his damndest to reach over and pilot both sides when he could. It was just sad and annoying to know that people like her exist.
WALT DISNEY loved taking pictures and videos with guest. He also loved seeing how much fun people had on the rides, when he watched their videos with them. He said these FACTS in the documentary that I watched a few years back. I believe WALT DISNEY would want us to keep those memories alive. By the way, you could end up in anyone’s photo/video, by just stepping out of your house!!! Everyone uses their cameras for everything, nowadays!!!
Maybe they can get real jobs. The idiots who support them and make them well of for filming basic crap with their low emd gear is annoying. Magic Journeys is the only YouTube channel that films using quality gear and a professionally edited crisp 4k video. Tim Tracker uses a garbage point and shoot. I thought he was rich from vlogging but can’t afford to upgrade his video camera.
For many viewers it’s not about professionally edit videos and 4K viewing. It’s about content and people relating to the Trackers, their family, and their experiences. They come off as genuine and relatable. They would not have so many loyal viewers otherwise. You can have the best picture quality in the world, but it’s nothing without great content.
That’s the problem doesn’t doesn’t want people bringing in all their high end gear. That’s why they film the way they do. Also anything that makes you money is a job. You cant say one job isn’t a real job just because they don’t work from 9 to 5.
Actually vlogging and filming for a YouTube channel is I think harder work then a regular 9 to 5 job because you basically are always working and never get a break because you have to shoot the video, edit it post it and add titles and make a thumbnail promot and can burn you out real quick. I know from personal experience but yeah people should never be disrespectful. It’s those people that ruin it for everyone else.
This is ridiculous. Filming ANYTHING and ANYONE in public space is protected under the first amendment. I get that Disney is private property, but it’s a tourist attraction open to the public and they should honor this. If you don’t accept the risk of being in someone’s picture or video, then DON’T GO TO A THEME PARK!
Vloggers are trash. They are useless parasites. Maybe at one time they served a purpose. But now they are corporate sellouts like the rest. Do you think they give honest “reviews” when Disney is fronting the bill? They are useless, lazy people who don’t want a real job. The vloggers all film the same crap. How much is different from one Halloween party video from the 280th? Get a life people
Disney doesn’t front me the bill and I’m completely honest with my opinions. I mean there is a difference from being honest to just being rude and disrespecting the park yes Disney doesn’t want that.
Disney LOVES these influencers!! I’ve seen them get tons of free things, and once even saw a family get free lodging in one of the Polynesian cottages on the water! They get invited to many Disney special events. Free lightning lanes, too! All because they have a lot of followers. Don’t think that they will get banned because it’s free advertising for the company.
Did anyone read the article? This applies to Tokyo Disney Parks. Since the US and Europe Parks make so much off the free advertising from these people you won’t see that outside of Asia. They reward the vloggers that are favorable to Disney with free things that at the end of the day doesn’t cost Disney hardly anything.
Thrilled about this. Most of these ‘vloggers’ spend 90% of their time moaning and bashing Disney, yet happy to take the ad gifted trips and make their coin. The vlogs most of the time offer anything interesting, entertaining or informative. You see more of their faces zoomed into the lense than you do the parks!
I don’t mind the vloggers – the ones I follow have been doing it for years, have credibility, and are very conscious of not ruining other people’s experiences. Plus, they act like reporters, bringing me news and updates and tips and tricks. They are the ones who helped me figure out Genie+ and maximize my experiences in the parks. Plus, it is clear that Disney regards them as “media” since many of them get invited to press events. And I don’t understand why people are in an uproar over Disney adults, since I am one of them.
The article fails to point out that the Tokyo parks are not run by the Walt disney company in any capacity. The oriental land company runs the operations of tge parks. This policy just affects those parks only cause it’s their own decision. The Walt disney company has no say in it. Will it be considered for the other parks, it’s hard to say but for right now it could be.
You don’t want to be photographed, then don’t go and just stay home. You go to any city and there are security cameras everywhere. They are in stores, the steps of people’s homes, traffic lights, buildings, literally everywhere. So inother words you want the whole world to stop videoing because you exist? Hahaha. Ok.
Vloggers @ Disney totally annoying especially those 50 year olds. Should be banned altogether, also sort of creepy and keeping others from enjoying the parks
I don’t think it should be banned for family related events, but there should be rules for influencers and they should need to pay a licence fee (as it is for making money and not for personal events) and sign a waiver to respect others and all rules from the parks.
I love the Tokyo parks and think this might be a good policy but they do take things to the extreme. We had a group visiting for the 25th anniversary and had gotten approval to do a group shot in front of the castle but apparently it hadn’t been communicated to park security so they wouldn’t let us do it. Big time annoyed as we wouldn’t even need approval for a pic at another park
Not happy about this! Sure, there may be a few annoying people, look past the screen. There’s plenty to look at on rides. Channels like DFB and Mammoth Club are a part of the magic too. They help us plan, stay in the loop, and stay excited. Disney is banning free advertising here too.
Just wanted to say, as a person with Illness and housebound, I miss Disney dearly! Vloggers who are respectful, like The Trackers or Ordinary Adventures give me so much joy. I might never be able to go to the parks again. Some days those video keep me from being depressed.

Mike
Mick – You are being short sighted and crazy! As a long time Disney fan. I ALWAYS consider how my actions of taking pictures or recording my family experience might impact others. But it has gotten to where the JERKS of the world don’t care. And as long as a visitor can use the same descression as Disney cast members then photography should continue. But Influencers , Vloggers & of course Chapek are ruining disney and its time to take a stand. Now spout mindless drivel as you just did.
Marie
Very true
Sarah
Lmao. Mick thinks vloggers is the same as someone taking a casual photo.
Gene
I think that your going to far. If you choreograph all your pics, okay. Not everyone does that. I take at the moment pics. Not trying to take illegal pics of anyone purposely but are you going to edit every single pic you take in a crowded WDW park. I think not.
Gus
Thank God. Get rid of all of them from all Disneylands. These Vloggers and Disney “Influencers” are a parasite.
Esther
Totally agree
Jamie
Couldn’t agree more!!! They make cash off of filming everyone and they feel they should have a red carpet for them when they arrive. Can’t stand them in the parks.
Chris
Especially the IG and Tok influencers with their fashion photoshoots, like who cares what you are wearing at the parks in 100+humidity temperatures. Then you got those influencers that are doing stupid stunts or trending dance moves just for clout
Ian Loeb
I agree with you there these Zoomers are so stupid and entitled it’s insane
Scubasteve089
On one aspect, I get it. Sometimes vloggers get in the way when they are not paying attention while walking. Maybe ban that, and on rides. But another aspect it is helpful to watch a few of the famous vloggers like Tim Tracker and WDW Couple. They give good honest reviews and also show what is new and what to plan for in the parks to make vacation planning much easier.
Ziva G
Yes. I agree. Tim Tracker and others like him are very considerate of when and how they are filming. It’s been a few years since my last visit, so things may have changed, but people in general, whether they have a camera in their face or not can be annoying if they are not paying attention to where they are walking or when they stop abruptly.
Tina
Totally agree with you
Truffle15
Vloggers are totally helpful. I see the new merch, food, and what’s going on. I was ready to plan a trip to some of the other Disney’s, but if I don’t know what’s going on screw them. They overcharge as it is. We need all the previews, tips, and help we can get to plan a better day. I see vloggers at Disneyland and they do nothing to bother anyone. There not filming people. That’s just in people’s minds because they think they are something special.
Bobby
Physically I can no longer to the parks. My day at the parks is now lived through the vloggers. They just need to learn to be more discreet.
Nancy
I enjoy many vloggers , and they all appear very intuned to not showing people without permission. Thank God for those that are showing how to use genie +. They work hard , and getting paid is part of being a freelancer. I often hear them complain also of people on rides using flash and generally disrupting others enjoyment , and educating the public.
Cam
Agree, The Trackers give good tips on Disney and he’s also not live streaming. I think the live streaming is what people have issues with.
Les
Vloggers and influencers are filming areas and people for profit, which tells me they need permission from all people they’re filming in writing. Eventually I see lawsuits starting up, personally, if someone is making money on my actions, I definitely want my share.
BAN THEM ALL.
Steve
Get ready to be laughed out of court and made to pay costs.
Duan
Steve
It shows that you aren’t a lawyer. You are completely clueless.
Jbird
I see no issues. I have a few people on my tiktok who go live at Disney world and Disney land. It’s great to see everything especially if you can’t afford to go
Kaypro
I was there yesterday for the not so spooky party and I recorded tons of video. Not one cast member said anything to me. This was all on a phone but I question what the real story and policy is here vs fear mongering. Universal hosts special events so vloggers can get their content because they know it drives more business at their parks… I’m a passholder, been to Disney a lot and no one taking photos or videos has never ruined my experience. Big cameras and all, I just don’t care, it’s not in the way because Disney is massive, just move if you don’t like it.
Kaypro
Sorry should have re-read before posting… no one has ever ruined my experience…
M0710NM4N
You’re in a PUBLIC space… you basically have no rights when in regards to privacy (unless you’re in the bathroom). I could legally follow you around and take pics and video all day and nothing you could do about it, aside from complain to someone within the Disney Staff which could get me in trouble… like being told to stop it or leave the park. But no court in the U.S. is going to do anything other than toss the case out.
Mark
Actually Disney parks are PRIVATE parks. Therefore the rules they set for their parks supersede any “public space” rules. In your example, if Disney sets a rule that says you are not to follow, interfere or harass any guest with pictures or video – you would be required to follow it or risk ejection from the park. Any court would agree since it was on private land and the rules were stated before you entered and agreed to such rules by buying a ticket.
Ricky
Actually you are partially correct. It is Private Property and therefore courts will hardly ever get involved. If you have an accident in the parking lot of a privately owned business, police will tell you to settle it between yourselves as it is private property. Having typed this, Disney could certainly evict anyone for whatever reason they see fit.
Aaron
I see no problem with the respectful vloggers. Just like any other guest, they should follow all guidelines. Disney has a set of rules for a reason. Petitions, people spouting off is unnecessary. Breathe. Smile.
Steve
I am sure their competitors will love the free advertising. Most streamers are abandoning Disney parks here in the US.
Meanwhile, Disney records everything going on 24/7 and uses that footage for anything they like.
kokomo
Im fine with a casual video filmed on a cellphone or ipad, out of the way. But a full on camera setup? Why?
Xander Cornelius Moy
Yes. Ban filming. It’s the worst when you try to enjoy something and get distracted by a phone/iPad.
Elizabeth W
No, because the regular guests take pictures, videos etc. I sometimes do a FB live when I enter Disneyland or riding on the top level of the Omnibus for my family and friends. I am not an influencer or vlogger. Perhaps some guidelines for vloggers.
pearl (she/her)
everyone always has to take things too far. do you all really think it would be practical to ban all filming and photo taking? i just like taking pictures of things to remember, and my husband enjoys filming on rides with the flash OFF. i feel like this isn’t a matter of what rules disney has in place, but rather a matter of people being considerate of others. i wish people knew how to just be considerate and enjoy the park for what it is instead of trying to use it to make money. you can really smell the privilege on those types of people, taking up reservation spots to go to the park for an hour just to film themselves eating a new disneyland snack.
Josh
John Brown
Probably the vlogger.
Esp if it was Mr. Beast. Lmao
Mrs. Palmer's 5th grade class
So true Josh!! I agree 100! I use these vloggers in my own classroom! It’s a great resource and people honestly are complaining about peanuts!
Chris
Josh, are you one of the these vloggers/streamers? lol
Steve
It is just the typical adult Disney fan Karens that think people with 3 million subscribers got that because they were in the background of a video for 10 seconds.
Ian Loeb
THANK YOU!!!! Someone finally said it
Erin
Nailed it, Josh!
Robin
I’d like to keep respectful vloggers. Not all of us can afford to go to Disney often, but we still like to “visit” the parks virtually for some Disney magic. Also, when you only get to go once every few years, it’s VERY helpful to watch these videos to come up with a plan for your days (what to eat, what to ride, how to do things, etc…) Trying to block others from having these helpful videos because you’re slightly annoyed is super privileged and makes me sad to think of having to plan my trips without their help.
Mrs. Palmer's 5th grade class
I agree!
DisneyTraveller
Seems to me the solution isn’t to ban, but perhaps to “vet” or have “approved” vloggers (like the examples mentioned). Give them a unique lanyard so CMs know they’re allowed to be filming a bit more “professionally”. Have them do an online induction of do’s and don’ts to get said lanyard and periodically review their content.
Filming with a professional set up and no lanyard? Cast can tell them to pack it up and move along.
Steve
So control the media allowed to report on the company. Wonderful. Then we can have everyone be Bob Paycheck yes-men.
Mrs. Palmer's 5th grade class
Jarlia Arnga
Mrs. Palmer, what does “deoend” mean?
Your class must be on some next level vocabulary!
Mrs. Palmer's 5th grade class
Well, they’re obviously more mature than you! 😆 🤣 😂. What a ridiculous thing to be petty about.
PeachyHealer
It’s a typo. They happen all the time when typing on electronic devices. I’m sad that people need to be so hypercritical and judgemental. I hope you’re having a better day today. ❤️
david chinery
The only advantage with vloggers, influences and such is to them only. The more folllowers, the more money they make. I would be fine with them and selfie sticks going away in every park!
Matty Slockbower
There are Pro’s and Con’s to this news.
Pro: My wife was once preyed on during a LIVE vlog cast by another elder Vlogger that hunts married women that Vlog in the Parks. This new change would have prevented that.
Con: My wife was once preyed on during a LIVE vlog cast by another elder Vlogger that hunts married women that Vlog in the Parks. This new change would have prevented that. *LAUGH EMOJI* #BestThingToEverHappenToMe
Jen
I’d personally like to see them gone from all parks. When I go, I sign away my likeness to Disney Parks only and not to stupid vloggers.
Steve
No one cares about your likeness, Karen.
Dan
Yeah, even the 7 eleven where you bought gas is filming you without your permission. Get a life. Congrats though — Your level of entitlement should appear in the next issue of the Guinness Book of World Records.
Bradley Monroe
I don’t think it’s a good idea to ban all vlogging and livestreaming from all the parks given that not all vloggers are disrespectful. There are plenty of Disney YouTubers we always appreciate including AdamTheWoo and Marky Mouse for example.
rteker
And Time Tracker, these guys will show off the new stuff and updates for these parks. So not ALL of these vloggers (I can’t believe I just added that to my browsers dictionary) are rude or inconsiderate, they follow the park rules especially Adam the Woo who DID get a life time ban to Disney overturned after awhile
Vince
Yet, he DID originally get banned.. obviously for a reason. Of course you’re both defending someone like him.
Ana
Than God Disney! Please keep all vloguers and so called influencers and streaming banned! Not only society parasites and the worst use of technology avances, but also they ruin the experience and the magic and the opportunity for the rest of the people !! We don’t want and don’t need their opinions.
Steve
Your post drips with jealously.
Nadine S Harris
I8seriously? How? You are projecting something we don’t se
Natalie
I can understand not letting the ride and inconsiderate ones do so, but Tim Tracker and his family for for an example are always kind and considerate at the parks. Taking away letting them and the ones who make videos for others that aren’t causing problems is ridiculous!
Steve
Disney doesn’t like people reporting on the horrible state of their parks.
Diane
ABSOLUTELY! Especially on the dark rides.
Jack4567
Water
I understand se people may hate them but as a person who has never gone to Disney world or land. And not having enough money to go it’s expensive and this way was a way to actually see what is in these disney rides or whatever it’s just helps me to know if I do get enough money what to and where to go. Which might never happen but maybe it will. As disney is my fav. So I saddened tht this is happening but somethings become too much when u are just doing it for the whole ride like half of or start or the ending is fine bur the whole ride maybe it’s rude for some never have had experience tht though.
Christine
I enjoy looking at the pictures and lights and everything ,its for all the people who can’t afford to go there ,I also like to see people enjoying themselves and having fun and dreaming about someday just maybe I will have enough money to take my family so we just watch it on cable
Mike
Not all vloggers due it for profit. I have a full-time job, and living far away from Disney, I don’t get to get there much. I vlog but also, respectful. I only vlog certain things. Plus, anytime you go to a public outing, usually there are signs that say you may be filmed without compensation.
R
I wish Disney would enforce sitting during fireworks and parades at all parks so us short people can actually.get a full view. 🙁
Nichole
U know I like the vlogging I’m not rich enough to afford the prices to take my children and my parents couldn’t afford to take me so I like being able to see places I otherwise wouldn’t be able to see
Drake
Whoop-de-doo. Ban strollers! And make Disneyland adults only.
Spencer
I agree if a kid is in a stroller he’s too young to go anyways. Yeah I seen like 9 or 10 year olds and strollers which is kind of ridiculous because you’re just thinking why are they in a straw or they should be walking.
Kimberly Michelle
I think that it should be on a case by case basis. I know that there are some vloggers like Carrie Hope Fletcher who I watch who are completely respectful. She dosn’t do anything to upset other guests, and she doesn’t film on rides that are dark. She’s just a huge Disney fan enjoying the parks and documenting it not only for her fans but also to look back on in years to come.
I think there should be a etiquette rule book on the subject if they’re going to be allowed to film. But I don’t think they should ban it completely.
Jeannette74white
A place centered around young vulnerable aged children that doesn’t properly vet employees for charges of crimes against children not allowing cameras is a child trafficking trap. #boycottdisney #saveourchildren
Kim
PC DEV & MICHAEL KAY & ADDICTED TO THE MOUSE do great jobs at vlogging. EXCELLENT work and are not intrusive at all. Banning them is like taking away their livelihood and that’s not fair.
John Fazio
They need to stop referring to everyone as “influencer”. These people aren’t “influencing” anything or anyone.
Britt
I think banning cameras is a bit harsh but i like the idea of banning like full on filming equipment and enforcing the no flash photography or video lighting. Vloggers and social media influencers get their money from filming and posting on their accounts such as TikTok, Instagram, FB, etc… And the vloggers give people a chance to see other parks and things if they’re unable to visit.
George T
I think filming in Disney Parks are ok but like most of us in Europe, UK, Asia, Australia and New Zealand can’t always go to the park and Streaming and Recording should be allowed to show the experience to other countries oh can’t make it
EJ
Disney_Fam_4
WALT DISNEY loved taking pictures and videos with guest. He also loved seeing how much fun people had on the rides, when he watched their videos with them. He said these FACTS in the documentary that I watched a few years back. I believe WALT DISNEY would want us to keep those memories alive. By the way, you could end up in anyone’s photo/video, by just stepping out of your house!!! Everyone uses their cameras for everything, nowadays!!!
VloggersRaPlague
Maybe they can get real jobs. The idiots who support them and make them well of for filming basic crap with their low emd gear is annoying. Magic Journeys is the only YouTube channel that films using quality gear and a professionally edited crisp 4k video. Tim Tracker uses a garbage point and shoot. I thought he was rich from vlogging but can’t afford to upgrade his video camera.
PeachyHealer
For many viewers it’s not about professionally edit videos and 4K viewing. It’s about content and people relating to the Trackers, their family, and their experiences. They come off as genuine and relatable. They would not have so many loyal viewers otherwise. You can have the best picture quality in the world, but it’s nothing without great content.
Spencer
C
If they film then jail them.
JR
Yes. Ban them!!
Adam
This is ridiculous. Filming ANYTHING and ANYONE in public space is protected under the first amendment. I get that Disney is private property, but it’s a tourist attraction open to the public and they should honor this. If you don’t accept the risk of being in someone’s picture or video, then DON’T GO TO A THEME PARK!
FloridaRN
Vloggers are trash. They are useless parasites. Maybe at one time they served a purpose. But now they are corporate sellouts like the rest. Do you think they give honest “reviews” when Disney is fronting the bill? They are useless, lazy people who don’t want a real job. The vloggers all film the same crap. How much is different from one Halloween party video from the 280th? Get a life people
Spencer
Disney doesn’t front me the bill and I’m completely honest with my opinions. I mean there is a difference from being honest to just being rude and disrespecting the park yes Disney doesn’t want that.
Tim
People whine about anything these days
Kevin W
Disney LOVES these influencers!! I’ve seen them get tons of free things, and once even saw a family get free lodging in one of the Polynesian cottages on the water! They get invited to many Disney special events. Free lightning lanes, too! All because they have a lot of followers. Don’t think that they will get banned because it’s free advertising for the company.
Tim
Did anyone read the article? This applies to Tokyo Disney Parks. Since the US and Europe Parks make so much off the free advertising from these people you won’t see that outside of Asia. They reward the vloggers that are favorable to Disney with free things that at the end of the day doesn’t cost Disney hardly anything.
Erin
Nope, they just want to whine – like you said above 🙂
Lauren
Thrilled about this. Most of these ‘vloggers’ spend 90% of their time moaning and bashing Disney, yet happy to take the ad gifted trips and make their coin. The vlogs most of the time offer anything interesting, entertaining or informative. You see more of their faces zoomed into the lense than you do the parks!
Linda
I don’t mind the vloggers – the ones I follow have been doing it for years, have credibility, and are very conscious of not ruining other people’s experiences. Plus, they act like reporters, bringing me news and updates and tips and tricks. They are the ones who helped me figure out Genie+ and maximize my experiences in the parks. Plus, it is clear that Disney regards them as “media” since many of them get invited to press events. And I don’t understand why people are in an uproar over Disney adults, since I am one of them.
Joxua
It’s about time.
And there should be a class action lawsuit against any profits those vultures already made.
David
The article fails to point out that the Tokyo parks are not run by the Walt disney company in any capacity. The oriental land company runs the operations of tge parks. This policy just affects those parks only cause it’s their own decision. The Walt disney company has no say in it. Will it be considered for the other parks, it’s hard to say but for right now it could be.
Chris
You don’t want to be photographed, then don’t go and just stay home. You go to any city and there are security cameras everywhere. They are in stores, the steps of people’s homes, traffic lights, buildings, literally everywhere. So inother words you want the whole world to stop videoing because you exist? Hahaha. Ok.
John
Vloggers @ Disney totally annoying especially those 50 year olds. Should be banned altogether, also sort of creepy and keeping others from enjoying the parks
James
Disney Vloggers should not be monetizing their streaming videos
Serge
I don’t think it should be banned for family related events, but there should be rules for influencers and they should need to pay a licence fee (as it is for making money and not for personal events) and sign a waiver to respect others and all rules from the parks.
LouiB
I love the Tokyo parks and think this might be a good policy but they do take things to the extreme. We had a group visiting for the 25th anniversary and had gotten approval to do a group shot in front of the castle but apparently it hadn’t been communicated to park security so they wouldn’t let us do it. Big time annoyed as we wouldn’t even need approval for a pic at another park
Kaitie
Not happy about this! Sure, there may be a few annoying people, look past the screen. There’s plenty to look at on rides. Channels like DFB and Mammoth Club are a part of the magic too. They help us plan, stay in the loop, and stay excited. Disney is banning free advertising here too.
Zan
Just wanted to say, as a person with Illness and housebound, I miss Disney dearly! Vloggers who are respectful, like The Trackers or Ordinary Adventures give me so much joy. I might never be able to go to the parks again. Some days those video keep me from being depressed.
