Disney COULD stop them if they wanted to, but they know they bring people to the parks. All Disney would have to do is throttle the wi-fi speed down. You don’t need fast internet for anything in the park, just to check websites and wait times. Even MagicBands + don’t need high speed access. They could also just block upload access to the various streamers, calling it a safety hazard to be streaming from the park.
But Disney wants it, it’s like free commercials, if not they wouldn’t give them free early access to rides and attractions. Think about how many streamers posted stuff about the Disney Star Cruiser.
If Disney really wanted to stop it, they would just throw out copyright flags to anything shown in the park. The NFL does this right now.
The YouTube groups I watch are very respectful and everyone knows them. They even fans that come to the parks and support them wearing t-shirts, many said thanks to them, they got inspired and their Disney trips were much more better.
Once in a live stream, a Son thank the streamer because his sick mother in the hospital was able to watch Disney Parks live and felt more happier.
These older streamers mute copyright music, they know the rules and never film in popular rides. They will just tell you when they get out.
The streamers make my day and cheer me up.
I don’t understand the meanness. Who cares what other people are doing. Just enjoy your visit. I finally went to Disneyland because I’d watched so many streamers showing really cool and interesting things. Before that I thought it would be boring.
It’s due to the fact that these nerds keep speaking loud interrupting guests from enjoying the ride. Example: GREETINGS MY FELLOW TIK TOKERS, TODAY WE’RE-” And so on and so on. Do you see the issue? We don’t need some goofy nerd narrating the ride.
Considering that live streamers are *generally* far quieter and more respectful to the ride than your average Joe Jerkwad there for the once-in-a-lifetime trip with the kids AND the livestreamers *tend*not to do things like use a flash or recording light, which the average Joe Jerkwad does… No, I still don’t see the problem. As a former cast member, former AP and frequent visitor to the park: it is the entitled jerks there for the rare Disney trip who tend to be the biggest problem, whilst the regulars (including vloggers) tend to be polite and respectful
I don’t watch the ones who are stupid, act stupid loud or film others on purpose. I usually just watch Mr Morrow or Adam the Woo. They are nothing like those you described
Yes there are a few vloggers and live streamers who are very respectful. Adam the Woo, Tim Tracker, Resorttv1, Ordinary Adventures. Please don’t take them away. I live vicariously thru watching their content.
Exactly Brad. Some of them ARE really ANNOYING! But I love Adam and Nate… And Tim Tracker. I feel like they are just having a good time, but not at other people’s expense. I appreciate what they do and HOW they do it!
It’s called common courtesy; this is just a modern loud telephone conversation, which everyone knows is disruptive and annoying. Plus, these people will hold up others behind them, are absolutely oblivious to those around them, and disregard the actual rules and regulations of the park at times. Just because it’s a public space, doesn’t mean few rein to do whatever you want for you. Decency is still a thing, people.
Because they are using lights and talking thru a ride. I don’t want any one taking video or pictures with a light if it’s a dark ride. It ruins it for other people. I have done WDW before and each time it’s bothers the Magic of what I want to enjoy.
I went to opening night at Knott’s Scary farm the other night. About 1/3 where YouTube pages. They never caused a problem. In fact, thanks to them I have been reliving that night. Streamers are not the issue. 🤷♀️
You are speaking in anecdotal evidence and about a few, select streamers. Restrictions are needed for those who AREN’T polite and DON’T have common decency. That’s the point here.
Social media influencer marketing has become the issue because it does generate tractions. There are firms which basically handle these influencers like pimps. If it generates buzz and money it will not go away like the pop up ad.
Disney even sits down and takes meetings with these people to further enhance their access depending on their follower numbers.
Personally I think the anger stems from the revenue the person makes and envy on the part of some who use “their experience being ruined” as a cover for said envy.
I find paid line cutting to be even more egregious but you do not see people taking action against that.
It is definite jealousy. I hear on here all the time from entitled tourists upset about locals getting discounts, just imagine the impotent rage about people whose job is going to Disney.
There are a few who are worth the effort, and who are respectful of other guests. Dave, aka Fresh Baked Disney puts out good content. When he’s in the park, the streaming he does is while walking around, never while in line or on an attraction. And while he’s walking around, his voice is at a conversational level, never loud. He never inconveniences other guests the way some “influencers” have done. People like him are certainly not the problem.
And I second your comment about paid line cutting. Have we all decided that we’re ok with charging those who can afford the extra cost while treating the rest of us like gatecrashers?
I just talk loudly about my dog taking a dump and dragging his butt across the carpet. Also about how he has explosive diarrhea. My poor dog always willing to take one for the team. 🤣🤣
Live streaming your interests and likes, your job if its allowed your, your daily routine, is fine. When it is disruptive to others personal space and privacy it’s not. This I believe is the issue and the backlash live streamers are facing. I like my own space, I like my personal time away from daily stress and this is what a day at Disney Magical Day is for me. But again it’s also an amusement park and what amuses me does not amuses someone else. That being said it’s a public place and in public we must accept social, mass gathering, and media to influence our day. Even though I dont want to be around or involved in anyone’s elses live stream, it’s part of the new web and internet we so heavily rely on. I do believe its here to stay and the worries I have are the mental health effects of social media and the time wasted on this issue when issues of physical health should be addressed.
Smoking in amusement parks in Florida should be banned.
Public space doesn’t = say and do whatever you want, however you want, whenever you want. 🙄🙄 Public space just means no one has the expectation of privacy.
Streamers are bad. I have full legal custody of my kids but when I took my kids to Disney their dad stalked us on all the live streams he could find, and he did to the point that he started harassing the kids via text when he finally found us in the background of one. It is one thing to be posted in a vlog, another entirely for the world to see us live. I cannot imagine how bad it would be for someone who had threats against them.
Excellent work as always Jess!
This article reminds me of something that happened at Disneyland USA involving a YouTube Vlogger/live streamer. Katie Slockbower from the vlogging duo, Best Life and Beyond. While on the Sailing Ship Columbia, Katie was doing a live stream, talking loudly while walking around the deck of the ship. She was live streaming to announce that she had t-shirts for sale. She was filming what is essentially a commercial. Filming for commercial purposes is restricted and against park rules. She caught the attention of one of the park guests, a gentleman on the ride with his child. This gentleman was not only upset that this woman (Katie) was unlawfully selling merchandise, but she was also filming children without notice or approval. He approached Katie and said something on her live stream to the effect like, “don’t send these grifters any money”. She instantly became unhinged and began accusing the man of being a stalker and serial killer. After the ride was over she ran to the security and police to report the man for, I don’t know what, saying something on her live stream? I am not sure what happened after that. The man reported the video to YouTube because she had filmed children and published the video on YouTube without the parents’ permission. Disneyland, please do something about these vloggers and live streamers. They are ruining the magic you create.
I remember hearing about that. Is Best Life & Beyond the same people that allegedly went to Disneyland while infected with covid back in June? I think there is an article about it on this site.
Katie and Spencer are what give live streamers and vloggers a bad name. They are super obnoxious. Adam the Woo used to be friends with them and is no longer. Adam does a respectful vlog and I enjoy his videos. And there are several others who do videos often. Resort tv1, Ordinary Adventures, Tim Tracker And Adam the Woo are my favorites.
The main problem with having people stream and record is that children’s faces can be seen. You don’t know what kid is being recorded and that is a MAJOR problem. I work with kids and some kids can’t have their images online because of an abusive parent that doesn’t have custody or visitation trying to find them. Also creepy adults are all over the web and sometimes watching little kids in this streams and videos is what gets them off. It’s not about if influencers are distracting it’s about safety.
There could be creepy adults sitting on the benches inside and outside the parks watching the little kids. Disney is a very crowded place whether portrayed on YouTube video or in person. Many YouTube vloggers live streamers are very respectful. But yes they do walk around filming and a child’s face or other can make it onto the video. But that parent would have to just sit and watch you tube videos all day looking for their child. Not likely.
The streaming platforms are to blame.
YouTube profits millions of views by vultures stealing.
These scumbag streamers aren’t creating anything, just ripping off intellectual property and featuring innocent people on the screen without their consent and without sharing any of the YouTube money.
They should be banned from the parks and sued by each face they show on the screen.
How can the streamers and the streaming companies make money off of other people without cutting them in???
Sorry. I appreciate the respectful live streamers. I can’t make it to the parks right now. When I was going thru cancer treatments I especially appreciated their videos. As I have said many live streamers vloggers are very respectful. And they are making money YES but they are bringing entertainment to me.
If someone wants to live stream, take videos or photos or even talk on their phone while at WDW that’s all fine, that’s what our phones do and sharing all their happy thoughts is a great service for Disney too. Let the Pixie Dust fly …
Looks like some commenters don’t understand the difference between vlogging and live streaming. I don’t mind vloggers–most are actually working on their craft and take pride in the work they turn out. But live streamers tend to be obnoxious, look-at-me types who need to be the loudest in the room. I especially abhor the ones who have “superchats” turned on. A pox upon them!
The YouTube groups I watch are very respectful and everyone knows them. They even have fans that come to the parks and support them wearing t-shirts, many say thanks to them, they got inspired and their Disney trips were much more better.

So please don’t be trolls and if you see some, say Hi and Gello to family and friends.
You just got filmed for You Tube History.
I think they should be able to stream as long as they dont’ disrupt the rides or shows. A good streamer is Theme park Steve.watching the stream is wonderful and majes people want to visit themselves. HATERS GONA HATE!
I can’t, can’t stand these vloggers. When I’m in line or at a store I dont want a camera shoved in my face and listen to their annoying voices commenting on everything. I wish they would ban them. They make a career out of this now? Going to theme parks everyday while others have to slave away at real work. I really do hope they ban them. It would make me sooooo happy.
I love the ones that are good at what they do, they give me the magic at home while I’m missing the parks, they keep me updated, informed, and prepared, for things that have changed and what to expect with those changes without them I would literally b lost when changes happen, and not know whats going on and how to do it.
This is soon to be prosecuted.

Disney is being sued for similar reasons and I’m pretty sure they are going to pass the buck to the streamers for liability

Such a simple fix.
