Yes! Disney, Fairs, Concerts, Horse Shows ,Theaters, all are guilty of not having 2x-4x sizes. Big people want to enjoy a shirt with where they have been or what they enjoyed as much as the next person. So disappointing when you see a shirt you love and it’s only S, M, L, XL that is it! We are always left out! Sad.
I bought a beautiful yellow top a couple weeks ago and was so excited to wear it , I tried it on, seemed fine, washed it and put it on to wear a couple days later ( tank top) and the arm holes were down about 4 inches lower than I like, (somehow I missed that when I tried it on) very dissapointed. Its hit and miss with size, some are way to big and some too small in my size and I am not a plus size. I cannot imagine trying to find other sizes. The new ears have a softer material on them but the ears part are a cheap plastic in my opinion. We just dont usually buy there any more because I dont want to have to return things. That is why I was so dissappointed about the really pretty yellow top I got. I will have to wear another top under it.
Companies, corporations exist for one reason, to make a profit for the owners, stockholders & board of directors. They are under no obligation to cater to the whims of all people. Manufacturing equipment, staff, materials, overhead costs all go into making decisions on what product to carry. If larger sizes were profitable, they’d exist. Workers in any factory anywhere have zero decision making abilities. They do as they’re told to the best of their abilities or they won’t have the job they desparately need. I’d really like decaf ice tea in restaurants. Doesn’t exist because not enough people want it for it to be profitable. You may feel like there’s enough larger size people to demand the manufacture of those garments but obviously there is not anyone interested in going to the effort & expense of providing them.
I am extra tall. Sleeve length and body length is always an issue. It would be nice if Disney added a tall section to their clothing options. I’m guessing the location of their factories doesn’t have many tall people in the “work” force that would even consider the taller sizes.
I will also say, this article and the comments just show how diverse we all are.
I agree being a tall and “plus” size. BUT next people will whine that they cost more becuase of the extra yardage to make them (just a fact) so they’ll raise the prices on everyone so everyone pays more (thereby eliminating “discrimination”) – see how this all works. I would be happy to pay more to get something that fits decent BUT am willing to pay more becuase I have not taken care of myself on a PERSONAL level. Working on that. AND please don’t say some people have a glandular problem – that is an micro amount in the case of obesity. Calories in Calories out!
I’m not proud of it, but as a woman who has to shop mens big and tall, I’m a size 6X (no teasing please, as it is a medical issue). There is nowhere I can find ANY Disney clothing at all! Even these off site places. I’m a t-shirt girl. I like to collect them. My “normal” size was a XL and even that was a disaster in the making. I used to $$ a lot buying stuff from regular visits as I’m a FL resident. I eventually let my resident passes expire and haven’t been in years despite so much I want to see, especially Animal Kingdom. It’s sad really! It’s so sad that folks like me are not included and just don’t bother anymore!!!
Yes. Yes. And yes. I’ve requested that and big and tall for men. My son is 6’4” and Disney shirts are too short for him. I’m 5’11” tall and most times I have the same issues. The other point is – please measure the sizes by true US or European sizes. Sometimes plus size clothing is based on the Asian size measurements. That is veeeery different than US measurements. It would be a nice idea, if Disney is finally willing to do that.
I totally agree!! I wear plus size (3x or 4x) and they are nearly impossible to find at WDW. Fortunately I’ve found a couple of places I can get them, but it would be great to actually buy during my trip!! Please, Disney, think about adding some extended sizes – especially for “special occasion” merchandise.
Why not get in shape so you can wear a size that is appropriate for a healthy body? Just because a company makes or can make HUGE sized clothes doesn’t mean it is normal or acceptable. Get in shape and feel healthier. The problem with the world these days is everyone has to be so sensitive with other people’s feelings. A real friend doesn’t tell you what you want to hear, but what you need to hear.
From a practical aspect, it’s Disney missing sales. Have you looked at the people at Disney parks? There are a lot of “healthy” people walking around. If you put it on the shelf they will buy it. Often they have some larger sizes, but they go fast. Much faster than small or mediums.

If something shrinks due to washing, you can usually carefully stretch it back to the original size.

Snow Wide, Gluto, Maxi Mouse aren’t needed.

Uncool man. I may be large but your an idiot, and I can lose weight, to paraphrase Winston Churchill.
