Unfortunately, this doesn’t surprise me. We just returned from a trip and stayed at the All Star Movies resort. After four days without any housekeeping service (no trash removal), we called the front desk to ask if our overflowing garbage cans could be emptied. We were told to put them outside the door and they would send someone. 24 hours later, they were still sitting outside the door full of garbage. My husband went down and spoke to someone at the front desk and they promised to send someone. 24 hours later it was finally emptied. We stayed 9 nights and they finally swept once after having to ask repeatedly. I offered to do it myself if they would just lend me a broom. If guests are eating fruit and other items for breakfast/meals in their rooms and it is sitting for days at a time and rooms are not being swept of whatever is tracked in after golfing,, swimming, and walking through all manner of weather in the parks, then bugs are going to happen. I’m sure more guests will find this the norm. Such a shame. Disney resorts used to have a higher standard.

5 star prices, 1 star effort.

We have stayed there 3 times and have never had aproblem. After covid no one wants to work, but nothing messes with my happy place

The overall quality and cleanliness of Disney has shifted dramatically. You would never see a bug anywhere on a 10 day trip, never a piece of garbage anywhere and impeccable standards. They are not maintaining things and there is always overflowing garbage and garbage around attractions. We’re running in to rude snippy castmembers.

    3. I agree that Disney is not what it used to be. But we just left the All Star Movies resort and it was fine. We called for more coffee and wash clothes and they got them to us pretty quickly. I think the parking charge is rediculous and didn’t tell us when we checked in. Disney is not very good with the disabled anywhere in their parks and hotels. I think that is sad.

    4. Disney properties went woke and now totally suck in every way possible. I have infant grandchildren now, but when they old enough to enjoy a theme park I certainly will not be spending money on Disney owned anything.

        @mark

Yes agreed. Their are so many better parks. Better everything really, the whole Disney thing is dead. It had its time and Leftists killed it. Time to move on to better family friendly customer orientated trips.

Wow! We were there at the All Stars Movie resort in June for a wedding for a week. First thing, my mom and I came in late. They didnt give us a luggage rack for the luggage. They put us in the farthest wing away ( The Mighty Ducks) from the lobby, food, pool and everything. My mom is handicapped/disabled. Do you think they would help us with the luggage and my mom just getting to the room. NOPE! It probably took us like 45 minutes to just get into our room. My mom had to stop numerous times and rest. So, basically my mom stayed in the room the whole time because she couldn’t walk anywhere. They
wouldn’t even do a wheelchair for her. They said they couldn’t wheel her. I even asked about a golf cart ride and they said they don’t do that. And that they didnt have any. Which the very next day, to my surprise, I saw some workers driving them everywhere. No bugs, but we did have blood on our sheets which I have a picture of. On the wedding day, we had to walk in heels all the way to the lobby for our driver to pick us up. That was a real inconvenience with my mom disabled and hot and out of breath. Oh wait, they did on the last day, my mom was able to get a ride to the lobby. But, someone from the resort went and picked her up in a car. Disney has really went down hill! I expected so much better from Disney especially since this was my first time being there. We ended up going to another and better hotel.

  2. Bob Cheapskate is at it again! Doesn’t want to invest in attraction maintainance, so I suppose he doesn’t want to have a proper housekeeping staff. He’d have to pay them.

  3. Bill

Disney needs to return to what use to be the practice… cleaning the rooms every day and making the beds. This is a time when it really needs to be done. There is NO EXCUSE for not providing this service, especially with what we pay each night to stay there! Room rates increased and service decreased.

    1. DK

Laughing at this post. It’s Floruda and if you call those pictures an infestation then I’d hate to see what you would do when you saw a real one. Those are LOVE BUGS. And exterminators probably just sprayed the room for insects and the verynfew love bugs you see are what happens after.

      1. Mary

Thank you!..It sounds like they had a good outcome..that’s good!..
I think there are a lot of staffing issues all over the “World”..Yes…infestation is a pretty strong word!..

      2. EMaza

I lived in Florida for about 10 years. First in an apt, then a house. I noted evidence of critters right away. Before I unpacked or filled closets/chests..I went to work using the pest control skills taught me by my parents. For the rest of my stay in either place…No More Critters. The only thing tht would try once in a blue moon would be a silverfish. And it died right where it tried to enter. I have no patience for critters..period. Florida, Ca, NJ, NY, Ga., even Guantanamo Bay-Cuba…No dang critters. I would lose my mind!😆

      3. Dawn

Those are not love bugs. I’m from Florida too, so I agree that yes, bugs do get in. Just report and tell them to clean it up.

      4. Michele

Exactly but based on some of the other posts they are the result of wokeness. I hate woke lovebugs.

    2. Phyllis

your right for the price we pay, if you don’t get housekeeping then the rate should be less

      1. Joe

It will only change when people stop going

        1. J

Or when we get a new president who doesn’t pay for people not to work, and doesn’t support unions like truck drivers who refuse deliver items to stores, and doesn’t cause double-digit inflation so that EVERYTHING COSTS MORE!
We have over employment and no one has to do a good job bc they can just quit and get paid not to work and/or just go next door to get another job.

    3. Bang, bang, bang are you going to check out as they try and force there way in your room with the safety latch on .

      1. I fully agree Chapeck is a disaster, but everything your complaining about will never change until people don’t go anymore. Seriously, do you honestly think that’s going to happen?

    4. Karen

Unfortunately many hotels have reduced the times your get service. Same with Ramada. Same with my hotels in New York
      Cost cutting

  4. Elaine

I’m from Florida. BUGS LOVE ARE everywhere….When I just move here they appear in my back door and windows…I cleaned them out after 5 minutes was more and more…
They choose a spots, and come in millions…Please just search about this bug you’ll understand.

    1. Elaine

      *BUGS LOVE

  5. Beth W.

While yes, this is Florida and there are millions of Love Bugs around, that does not mean they should get into a hotel room…especially one that you’re paying over $100 for! Disney definitely needs to go back to at least cleaning the rooms every other day. What they’re doing now is ridiculous. It’s different in the Vacation Club rooms, because they come with brooms and vacuums, and you expect to do that yourself. In hotel rooms…nope! You can bet that Chapek never stays in a room that hasn’t been cleaned daily. He needs to lower that nose a few inches.

  6. Love bugs are everywhere in Florida. Lol that’s just the way it is.
The garbage is something different. We stayed 2 weeks at Port Orleans Riverside. Just horrible!!! Too many issues to list. The garbage under the stairwell and the gang tag is was really got me. For crap like that I could have stayed in Kissimmee. If I would have known I could have switched resorts I would have. It was the longest 2 weeks ever.

    1. Tammy Hall

What is a gang tag? I’m sorry but I’m clueless.

  7. Laurie

Love bug season is short. They are everywhere right now. They are annoying but harmless. They are getting in homes as well .

  8. Tom

I have stayed at all three all stars and pop century. I also stay at Kissimmee Best Western and Kissimmee Holiday inn. When all Disney gives you is a crappy “Magic” half hour in the morning with a lot of the good genie time slots gone in seconds at 7:00 a.m. the only perk worth getting is the skyliner. Which sadly kind of likes to break down. All Businesses are over using Covid as an excuse to slash service. I just do not want to pay a premium with no magical express and no Magic hours. The nighttime ones are very missed by me. But it makes more sense to go to an after hours party than pay $ 500.00 plus a night just to get a nighttime magic hour. BTW I did see bugs recently at a non Disney hotel but earlier to laugh off at lower prices.

    1. Tom

I meant to type easier but auto correct but in earlier.. LOL

  9. Bonnie placinski

My daughter and I stayed at Pop Century at Christmas last year when there are no love bugs and our room was swimming with bugs, even having to shower with them, I complained and was told someone would look into it, that’s it Disney, really??!! Never again, even at upgraded Coronado Springs there were bugs!! No longer a fan!! Totally unacceptable!!!

  10. Justin

I work at all star movies in bell services and yes those are love bugs and yes they are annoying but not harmful in anyway but of course guest will make a fuss over anything these days

    1. Bob

If I wanted to pay to stay somewhere with bugs, I would have gone glamping.
I don’t consider this “complaining”, and it’s sad to see a CM stooping to such standards.

  11. Ransu

I used to work at Art of Animation Resort and had to help guests change rooms because of bugs before. I’ve worked at a couple other non-Disney hotels which had the same issue. Bugs inuding roaches can sneak into luggage and escape into a room when guests arrive so always make sure you’re not carrying any stowaways when you’re traveling.

  12. Jenna

Been to Disney 5 times since 2018. Always stay at All Stars Resorts. Never had issues. Mousekeeping is incredibly friendly, and brought me everything we needed, including a boxfan.

  13. Holly

We just got back last week on Thursday from staying at the All-Stars movie resort. When you CHECK-IN on their app you have to choose that you’d like every other day cleaning or none at all. We did check that option and had no issues whatsoever. Mousekeeping was thorough and we had no complaints. This was also our first time starting on property.

  14. Ashlee

Tell me you’re not from FL without telling you’re not from FL😂

  15. Corinnaraiford

    Exactly!!

  16. Phyllis Worrell

Just returned from 2 weeks at Movies, it’s mating season for love bugs and they are everywhere but they are harmless and NOT an indication of poor cleaning. (I swear a million followed me in every time I opened the door!) While there we had trash emptied every day, towels refreshed throughout our stay. Beds were remade every other day and linens changed at least twice.

  17. Vicki

I went in Dec of 2021 and although there was no bedsmade they did come.in.and refresh the bathroom and empty garbage. We did nit have any problem with bugs. Thus is certainly not normal.for disney.

  18. Star

Bugs get in even in a sparkling clean place. It is what it is but they just need to take care of it safely. It isn’t an issue of lack of cleanliness that causes this. Don’t travel outside the country anywhere if something like that freaks you out lol. It is also FL after all.

  19. alliekat9090

Those are bed bugs. Kiss your clothing and luggage goodbye. Demand compensation!

  20. Jared

Overpriced resorts. Motel 6 meets Disney.

  21. Steve

People claiming those are love bugs… are you blind?

    Those are drain flies.

  22. Steve

    They’re probably their friends.

  23. Kenneth Turner

Who knows that could of been brought in from their luggage after being on a cruise. Know one knows it might have been you and not Disney’s fault…

  24. Liz Rose

Yep! Stayed at All Star Movies in 2017 with a friend to celebrate us graduating and passing our esthetician state test. We woke up after our 1st night there with bug bites on our legs and torso. Called front desk and they just re cleaned our room and beds. The next night we had the same issue but less bites. They didn’t apologize, or offer anything. I mean I would’ve atleast liked some benadryl or cream for the darn bites. Was very upset and refuse to stay at that resort again.

  25. Michele

Couple of years ago we stayed at fort wilderness and had bed bugs. You have to check your beds. We were a party of 7 and Disney made right and immediately gave us money to buy new clothes while all of our belongings were treated. They also put us up in the Polynesian bungalow for entire stay and credited us park tickets for our time wasted dealing with problem. This problem unfortunately is everywhere especially with the turnover at Disney. It was horrible don’t get me wrong but I think Disney did everything they could to make it right.
