I was literally fixing to say that. Lol Actually Dollywood used to be Silver Dollar City, but when it was bought out they changed the name. Now the only Silver Dollar City is in Missouri. So if it did happen at the one in TN, it wasn’t recently.
This is sad. However, parents need to keep a hold of their kids. There are warning signs everywhere and yet when a parent has a mishap they blame it on everyone else except themselves. If you can’t keep track of your kids as one should then honestly the blame here is only on you. Stop creating excuses people. This is a tragedy but the parents need to be held liable for what happened.
I am sorry before accusing the parents maybe you need facts. Nobody knows what happened. There’s no detail about that in the article . Not that I disagree parents in general need to be more attentive, but we honestly don’t know how this happened. There could have been a million things that played out. Either way I hope the toddler recovers, bc it is very sad.
So glad you guys know everything. What if the child has special needs and got in front of the train. Kids run off and it happens fast. You guys would rather just assume it’s the oarents. Real intelligent
I feel the same, why weren’t holding the kids hand, parents today are just so busy in their phones they don’t see what their kid is doing, sad story hope child recovers
Correct! Parents heads are always down gawking in their phones. I have seen many times where parents are walking a few feet ahead of their toddlers. Pay attention Parents!!!
The Land of Make Believe has been one of my favorite parks for 25+ years. my kids are 32, 29, and 21, and agree, it is a fantastic park, and one of the things they miss since we moved to Florida. My 32 yo and I are planning a trip ‘home’ to introduce her 2 yo to Santa’s Barn, the splash pad, and waffle ice cream sandwiches. the train that goes around the park is slow, and had a bell that chimes continuously. i can’t imagine how a child got hurt on the train tracks, the train is so slow even a kid who falls can get swooped out of the way. i hope that little one is ok.

Exactly! In these type of TRAIN situations, most of the time the parents are NOT paying attention.
Aaron
How do you know that?
Aaron
Sounds like, kid got hit by a train but oh well

Stop assuming. We don’t know all the details.

I know this park well. Conductor gives warning signal and lights go on to move off the tracks. Child must of slipped away from the parents.
