But while there are some politically-motivated user-submitted reviews, Thor:L&T is not low-rated because it’s “controversial”, but because…it’s an unholy mess.

(Basically, Taika didn’t realize he’d HAVE to do another Thor movie after Ragnarok’s wrapped-up finale, until MCU wanted Lady Thor for Phase IV, so if L&T looks quickly thrown together…)

    1. Eric

Don’t pawn this off on the bigots. The Thor movie was ridiculous. Ragnorok walked the line on comedy, but it worked. This latest Thor threw in too much.

    2. It’s not really the fact it’s in there, it’s why it’s in there. It’s like the new drug at the doctors office, it’s being shoved down everyone’s throat

    3. Adam

Wrll for the record, the only people bringing up homophobia, racism or any form of bigotry are those who have issue with any legitimate criticism of the film. If you enjoyed the movie, great! If you didn’t…just as good! You want to know a secret? You can like or dislike a movie withput going online and telling everyone about it. Your opinion of q movie doesn’t make you a better or worse person!

  2. Bob Cheapskate

Go woke go broke. As the other poster said that the movie is a mess… thats because they put political agenda before art. They don’t care if it’s good art as long as it meets their quota of inclusion.

    1. Jordan

      You couldn’t be more wrong

    2. Ellis Hugh

      Exactly correct.

    3. Spot on.
King valkrye we knew. Zeus was stupid ,I mean no meaning what so ever to that mess.
      Korg,, just why?
Guarantee if they would have made Zeus serious and put a half of a thought into the god city it would have been MUCH better.

This article conveniently ignores the abysmal 47% rating “Eternals” got to and wrongfully calls “Love and Thunder” the worst rated MCU movie, when it is truthfully the worst rated Thor movie. Let’s not forget that “Eternals” is the only MCU to get a rotten score.

    1. Brandon F

A well-deserved rotten score for Eternals. That movie was hot garbage, not Thor: Love and Thunder.

    2. Eternals needed about 3 more movies to get you interested in the characters, but I would pay to watch it to keep from watching love and thunder for free.

My husband and I both thought it was entertaining enough even though we never liked Natalie as Jane, although we like her well enough in other roles. I do NOT see what people are whining about when it comes to political agenda. Some kids DO have two dads, or two moms as the case may be. Don’t pretend these people don’t exist. Eterrnals and the Hulk were BOTH much worse than this was.

    1. It’s not that people fear inclusion, the M She U is just over pandering to women

      1. Rich

Like every male superhero isn’t pandering to male fantasies? A little diversity…gender …race…religion …. a lot of ….diversity isn’t going to kill you.

Ms Marvel got slammed by the anti-woke Comicsgate crowd.
I gave it a try out of curiosity, I mean a series about a Muslim teenage girl was not in my wheelhouse. Glad I did it was a delightful show and a wonderful window into a different culture and perspective.

Except this is LITERALLY a comic adaptation of a well-known comic. Hell, even *I* knew about Jane becoming Thor and Mjolnir killing her by aggravating her cancer. Love and Thunder is probably the most comic-accurate adaption in the entire MCU. If you want to complain about political agendas, look to Amazon’s new Lord of the Rings series. L&T is NOT a political agenda. Complain to the comic writers who wrote what this movie is based off of.

Yes an infantasmally small percentage of the population has two mothers or two fathers which is not ideal. It shouldn’t be touted as normal as it is not. If you look at Disney’s products the amount of overrepresentation of homosexuality is ridiculous. The gay population in the world is less than 5% you wouldn’t think that from the representation in these movies and TV shows. Disney is trying to normalize homosexuality as well as transgenderism. That’s a mistake. They should be accepted but biologically normal. Also diversity we’re showing people of color again far more numerous than what their actual demographic represents. All for the sake of being woke.

      1. Dborne

Dude you could not be more wrong.
5% you say? So that means it would be acceptable for 1 out of 20 of the MCU characters to be gay, if it were realistic?
Well as of 4 years ago someone made a list and there were 118 characters with powers in the MCU, including enemies and heroes both. By your realism logic, and the 5% you just gave, that would mean there should be 6 gay heroes or villains in the MCU.
        There aren’t.
But when even so much as one or 2 show up, even if the total is less than 5%, people like you whine about the woke agenda or some crap. Just admit it upsets you to see gay people in your movies.
Don’t ever moan and groan about that group being over represented because it just ain’t true.

        1. Justin Thomas III

          Don’t waste your time
and energy using facts and logic to push back against this GOOO W0K3 G0 bR0ke clown. Just enjoy the entertainment value of rationalized bigotry

  5. Frankly, it looked to be trash from the trailers

  6. Eric

Why is the go to when a diverse movie flops is that its because of bigotry? That’s just an excuse for a bad story. The SW sequels, the all female Ghostbusters movie, and a few others, well the writing was terrible. We accepted Ripley as a heroine in Aliens. We accepted Morpheus in the Matrix. A good movie is a good movie. Thor 4 was not a good movie.

  7. Sarah

It was bad because it was way to heavy on the comedy. And some things were just too much. Like the goats screaming every 5 seconds, and the kid battle. I mean, really. Even with Thor sharing his magic powers with them, they shouldn’t have been allowed to fight. Not one of them took one self defense class in their lived! What sort of irresponsible imbecile allows that? Oh, wait. It WAS Thor, after all…enough said.

  8. Disney Disappointed

I was a loyal MCU fan, but I genuinely feel that Stan Lee would have cringed at the movie. The only acting performance worth mentioning was Christian Bale. Overall, the script was childish and looked like it forced itself to align to Disney’s political agenda. If this is the future of MCU, I hope DC steps it up, otherwise I will be using my entertainment dollars somewhere else. Very sad to feel like I have lost the Disney that my family have loved over the years.

    1. Rich

Just occurred to me, in a weird way Stan approved of stories almost like this . In the late sixties Marvel released a 13 run of a title called Not Brand Echh, which was a parody of Comic Books, poking fun at all publishers characters and stories.

TL&T certainly at times seems like one of those issues. Doesn’t really work as the movie is all over the place in tone but taken on its own it is certainly entertaining. Ragnarok was a great movie whose comedy mostly went up to the line but didn’t cross over it.

  9. James

    Exactly. Well said.

  10. Joe

No… it’s not. Eternals is at 47%. It’s the lowest rated Thor film.

Could you at least kind of do your job?

    1. Maybe not but it should have been.

  11. It was seriously the worst. I’ve never missed a marvel movie, but I’m rethinking if I want to wait and catch the next one on TV.
Zeus was absolutely stupid. They kept saying online it was made for a 7 year old. What 7 year old wants to see a God In a skirt talking about orgies. Worst ever!

  12. Carter

I can care less that there was gay/lesbian representation in the movie, I’m not some over sensitive snowflake that gets offended by those things. The movie isn’t getting low ratings because of so called political agendas. It got a low rating because it was just a terrible movie. They went way too hard on the comedic writing, most of which didn’t land well at all, several of which were just beyond cringe. Having a joke every 30 seconds really stifled the serious elements in the movie and they ended up turning Thor into a parody of itself. Such a shame too, because I thought the opening scene of the god butcher’s origin was fantastic. It’s such a shame what proceeded it was just straight vomit.

  13. Thaddeus

The title of this is just wrong. It is the lowest rated Thor movie. Both Captain Marvel and the Eternals have much lower critic and audience scores than Love and Thunder.

    1. Rich

Well we all know the Captain Marvel was review bombed before the movie was even released, which caused RT to overhaul the system to not let reviews being posted before the movie was, well you know actually out and you must have a verified account.

  14. A.D

    Get woke, go broke! Hahahaha

  15. Ben

Too much comedy. Just because these are comic book movies doesn’t mean they have to be funny or cute. Comic books were originally written as the poor people’s literature. The comic in comic book want meant for comedy. Comics like the Archies were meant to be funny. Not superhero comics. A little humor if fine, but this one went overboard.
