Went to Lost Island Theme Park the last weekend they were open, and we really loved it. It was clear they had staffing problems and attendance was quite low (we thought it was because the weather was iffy all day). If they can hang on and get a few more attractions going, it’s going to be absolutely terrific.
If I had a suggestion, it would be to offer a 2-day park hopper pass, and run a shuttle between the RV Park, the water park, and the theme park (and maybe the casino?). I think the water park regulars would be willing to try the theme park if they didn’t have to commit to buying a more expensive ticket and staying all day for an “unknown“ experience.

They did offer a 2 day hopper pass. I was told a shuttle was in the works l, but need to be able to justify it with attendance numbers.

Sounds like another Hard.Rock Park problem. New Park trying to make it ,bad timing to open.

Lack of advertising I would say i never even knew about the place!

      1. jimmy69mac

        Me neither!

    2. AW

It didn’t close due to low attendance. It closes cause schools started back. Just like a lot of other theme parks in the snowy states.

      1. Fred

The boss man there says otherwise. Read the story, it tells you that they closed early because of low attendance and staffing issues.

    3. Mike

Wow you remember the Hard Rock Park. 👍👍

I would recommend more advertising. I had no idea this place opened/existed and am only a few hours away, definitely would have gone had I known it was there.

    1. Amanda

Same! Live in Nebraska and had no idea either park existed!! I would have totally brought my family!

    2. Max

I live an hour away and I never saw any advertising for it. Last we heard in the spring was that they had a fire and also some of the rides were not functioning yet. Advertise. Put out some billboards that scream out “We’re open!!”. Also, make your prices affordable at least as an introductory price to entice people in. Adventureland is a much larger park and about the same price.

    3. Soley

I definitely would live to take a family vacation there next season. Put me on your email list if you have one!

    4. Fred

Unfortunately advertising is not cheap. Maybe they did advertise a bit and also figured the park has good exposure just by people passing by because you do typically have taller rides. They may have thought that word of mouth and social media postings would help as well. But yeah advertising for surrounding communities is not a bad idea.

Disney’s promoting harmful LGBTQ to children violating parents’ rights has probably caught up to them?

    1. Katy

What does Disney have to do with this park?

      1. Dirk

These people are deranged; they just repeat the same things everywhere.

        1. Jill E. Bean

          Spot on.

          1. Jerry

First time I heard about the park hear in MN. But we don’t watch much TV or news. Sorry.

    2. Lol

Mary, you probably need to have your batteries replaced, you’re leaking a battery acid.

    3. TruthSeeker

Ummmm, Disney seems to be doing fine.

    4. geo

      huh?? 💩

    5. Fred

Lol!😂 Ok Karen! Oh, but shows as Mary. If this was a Disney park it would have plenty of visitors and would not be closing early. It’s not a Disney owned park. Looks like you probably don’t like Disney and we’ll post that just about anywhere there’s a story about a theme park..lol

    6. Fred

Karen, oops Mary! That is not a Disney owned park. Read the story or look up the park name online.

    7. jimmy69mac

This is not a Disney owned property. You have been indoctrinated by maga Qweirdos. Best not to comment because whatever you think sounds bat nutty fruitcakes to everybody else who is normal and non radicalized.

  5. Ray W

Maybe the problem is I never even knew about this place being built!!!!! Maybe they may want to invest in advertising!!!!

  6. Annie

If that park has anything todo with Disney I’ll never go. I stand Disney, truly I wish Disney would fall off the face of the earth.

    1. Annie

Typo, I can’t stand Disney I wish you would fall off the face of the Earth.

      1. CJA

If you don’t like something, don’t go. Easy peezy – no need to hope for a catastrophe.

      2. jimmy69mac

Annie? We knew what you meant!!! and We stand with you! God help America!

    2. geo

      ur on crack babygurl

    3. Duckie

Oh no, what ever will Disney do without your attendance to their parks or viewership? How will they ever recover from this?

  7. Mec

I helped build this park…I live on Indiana and was basically in Iowa for 9 months straight… I assure you these owners along with the GC I work for puree their heart and soul into it.. this place has nothing to do with Disney whoever started that bs… We worked on days it was -25°.. outside…. When this place gets up and running full steam next year.. it will be a wonderful experience… Mr. Bertch and his family are trying to do something good in that area…. Youinz should be happy there is someone willing to invest that kind of money in your area to give ya something to do…ty

Thanks for your comment. It amazes me when I see some of the complaints mainly the cost. When Six Flags in Gurnee, Illinois opened they only had 3 roller coasters and one had low risership because no one like it. Their 1st season passes you had to go 4 to 5 days to get uour money’s worth same as Lost Island is. Some even said they had no shade areas but I saw several plus you can always gp into the shops or restaurants if needed. One way people can help is by sharing about the park and your positive experiences. Leave out the negativity all you negative Nancy people. Give the park a chance to learn and grow.

Lower your prices then maybe people will start cooking again.

  9. Michael Andrews

It’s in the middle of nowhere. Why did they think it was a good idea?

  10. Jesse

I’m no genius, but I wouldn’t charge $49 to get in the 1st year. Charge an enticable $10 or $15 to get the crowds in then you can raise the prices once you have a return customer base.

    1. TD

Ummm sorry, but you guys are complaining about a measly $49? Wow, try $250 to get into Islands of Adventure in Orlando, where there’s only 2-3 rides worth getting on. Some people complain about everything….

    2. Sean

I would bring my family and the neighbors for $49. I took my 2 kids to Six Flags Great Adventure here in NJ and it was a $440 day for the 3 of us. That’s admission and eating twice and the girls got a couple of t shirts.

No offense but IOWA? Don’t know much but a friend said it’s flat and horrible? Ps I’m from Pennsylvania land of taxes!

  13. Ryan Anderson

Please don’t cause forever I’m dying to come see your party!

  14. We are in a recession!

  15. T

Well did you advertise ,I did not know it existed,
And probably many other people have not heard of it either

  16. JD

We went there in early August. The one coaster that was supposedly up and running, did not run the entire time we were there. The noodle place gave me food poisoning. The woman working the boat ride was the rudest human being I’ve ever encountered. When the severe storms rolled in, we were told that we would have to pay the parking fee again if we returned.

Whoever is in charge of their online PR straight up attacks anyone who says anything even neutral. We had high hopes for this place, but after being treated like garbage, we’ll be looking for another place to spend 2 days next summer at a water park / theme park.

  17. Horrorkesh

I kind of think it’s just a bad time to have a theme park a lot of people are more concerned with paying their rent and food and utilities then traveling to a theme park

  18. Mike
