Guess who else is breaking the rules? Mally Mouse – she’s using the park for commercial profit. That is forbidden in the Disney admission/park rules. I hope she paid you guys for drawing more views to her video. I’m so sick of these live streamers in the park. Streaming for hours, putting anyone and everyone around them on live, possibly worldwide, without their consent. Some of these livestreamers stream for several hours. Disney needs to stop this – it’s a park of beggars – begging for monetized views and super chats.

    1. Don

I agree Brooke add in the fact that they are ones hogging all the reservations to become an “influencer” and I have no sympathy for them or their camera.

      1. Dawn

“hogging all the reservations”?!?! I can sign in right now, make a reservation for today, and go to the park…. They aren’t hogging up reservations. They are annoying and at some point the bottom will fall out of the entire “influencer” crap. The Pandemic helped to create more of them, sadly, as people were living vicariously through others.

I understand that it’s not “polite” to splash strangers. I mean they are strangers lol. However you’re also in a KIDS park. On a WATER ride. Complaining that kids are getting you wet. And the description of the ride says “you will get wet” the title of the ride is SPLASH MOUNTAIN. I don’t understand how much more obvious this could get….

          1. Mike

            Kick those kids out

          2. AK

Not a kids park. Walt Disney made the park specifically so it’s for all ages. He even says it in his speeches for the parks.

      2. Steve A

She broke a safety rule filming on a moving ride! Two wrongs don’t make a right. Here camera could have injured another rider if it came loose from her possession.

      3. Joe

It’s Disney and you get wet. So shiut the camera off. Maybe they don’t want to be filmed? So your also wrong! Ride the ride and put the camera away! Next time I will splash u myself

    2. Jayne1955

I too am sick of whiny self entitled influencers. Not that I encourage rule breaking. I do not. But get rid of these morons. Many people don’t want to be filmed by perfect strangers trying to make a buck.

      1. Christian

Is anyone really “Influenced” by these types? You want a better experience at Disney? Take away the ability to go into debt for an annual pass. Make people pay full cash price. Since they started monthly payments on their items it looks more like a Walmart in a sketchy part of town.

      2. AK

Did you watch her video? I did. She didn’t complain to them. At all. She made a quick noise when she was splashed, but anyone would. The father apologized to her later and she said it was fine.

    3. drew

I was really hoping that Disneyland wasn’t going to keep offering annual passes. The last time we were there I lost track of the number of people streaming. I also had a couple friends forward me some clips where the “influencers” were worried about having to buy full priced tickets (oh the horror!) to get into the parks if they couldn’t renew their APs. It was pretty hilarious to watch them lose their stuff about possibly losing access to the parks.

      1. Joe

Anything that ruins a tik-toker or youtubes is okay in my book.
But, I’m glad my kids are grown and don’t feel the need to go back anytime soon. It’s ruined my experience and they offer nothing I want to see.

    4. Wicked

I feel totally different than you do about the streamers. They are providing the ability for people to experience the parks that are unable to financially. It’s also free advertising for Disney and Disney doesn’t pay them for that. It’s a win win. If you do not want to be in others videos or pictures then you need to not go to the parks. Every family that takes a picture gets tons of people in the background without getting their permission. That’s been happening since the parks have open.

      1. sfcpres

Yes but a family photo isn’t necessarily being used for monetary gain. These streamers think they own the park as they will scream at you if you cross their path.

      2. Sam

Of all companies out there Disney is absolutely the last one that needs random nobodies to provide advertising for them. Everyone knows who they are and what they do. And watching people go on rides is in no way comparable to actually being there. A ride is something you need to physically experience. It’s not like watching a bootleg movie where you are essentially still getting the same product.

    5. sfcpres

It may be public view but if the streamer is using it for monetary purposes than they do have to have permission to post others. Disney themselves doesn’t have to get permission as a guest waives the right via their ticket.

      1. Not the press

Putting press in your name only makes you look worse. 3rd parties sell video to news stations every day, get paid for it, and no permission was ever needed

      2. Randall Lombard

How you gonna enforce no cameras at Disneyland???? Parade cops all over the park questioning guests with cameras??? Ridiculous.

    6. Sam

      Exactly my thought.

    7. Steve

What a ridiculous post on so many levels. Typical Disney Adult.

    8. Tiredofbs

Finally someone said it!! Whats wrong with Disney? Not Ok for thee but fine streamers??
      Good for you!

  2. Jessica

Go figure – getting wet on a water ride.

  3. Gwen

I don’t recommend breaking park rules or risking your hands getting crushed, but I also don’t recommend taking your camera on water rides (duh) or filming people without their consent, or generally being an entitled *ss at a park where other people (not just you!) also pay to have a good time. Hope her camera got jacked up, and I hope her phone insurance doesn’t cover any of it.

    1. Lola

      🙌
      Agree 100%!!!

    2. Sam

      Amen to this comment!!

  4. Jessica

Worked Spalsh for a while. People have lost fingers and broken wrists and arms because they put their hands in the water at Splash. The logs fare not on a track; they float freely in the flume. So, they can jerk at anytime and they WILL move when a log comes down a fall behind you. Aside from being rude, it is dangerous.

    1. Jessica

To those complaining about YouTube recording them: part of the contract you consent to by entering the parks includes being video taped for commercial purpose (or at least it did pre-pandemic). You can’t escape that. As far as YouTubers go, Disney has traditionally permitted this because it has been very, very good for their business. As long as Disney continues to profit off the backs of people creating content free-for-Disney, it’ll continue to happen…

      1. Bob

        Interesting.
I always assumed (and you know how that goes) that admission contract was between me and Disney. I didn’t think it would be extended to anyone else videoing or streaming.
I would think anyone else who wants to film/vid/stream me would need to make there own contract with me.

        1. Kinza

It is between you and Disney. However, Disney could be considered a public place where there is no expectation of privacy. That might be how influencers get away with it.

          1. R

@kinza it is not a public place. You consent to being filmed by the Big D for security reasons. The guests have every right decline or even object to being filmed by a guest who makes money online for those images It isn’t shunned at the Big D because it works well for them as you tube, rumble, etc., are free advertising for the parks and that’s all. You have the right to not be recorded or filmed for anyones money making business and that is why every state has laws about it.

          2. sfcpres

Disney is private property. Others don’t have the right you are referring too. Until Disney chooses to shut it down these parasites will continue.

      2. sfcpres

Except your given consent via a ticket is expressly to Disney, not some disillusioned person with a camera trying to make money off of someone else. Disney may not pursue now but given these Tiktok challenges they may be coming to an end.

    2. Fed-up

I am so old that I remember when Disneyland was about children.

      1. Jen

Cute, but it’s ALWAYS been about all ages, even in Walt’s own words. Try again to be cute

  5. Phoebe L Ho

On my last D-land trip, I was seated in the very back behind a family in this order- kids, husband, wife. Of course as soon as we got underway in the flume, the “adult” dad kept sticking his hand in the water and splashing his kids despite them yelling at him to stop and his wife doing the same. All I could do was say in a mature voice “please keep all hands, arns, feet and legs inside the log.” At least I knew the wife was on my side but I was really pissed. You shouldn’t be expected to suffer fools to ruin your time. And what if he had gotten injured? Do these people even think???

    1. Critical Thinker

Is your story as fake as this one? The unedited video is posted and “kids splash, dad says stop, crickets”. Nothing else.

  6. Len

If the water is so “disgusting”, then don’t get on the ride. You do get wet.

  7. billnyenotascienceguy

Wish I was there…So I could buy those kids a mickey bar. Nice job kids!

    1. Miles

Yup, always the Proud boy in the crowd allowing his rats to do whatever they want in the park. We’re your kids the ones who took out a can of cheese wiz and sprayed all over Thunder Mountain too?

      1. billnyenotascienceguy

No I’m pretty sure that was your mom.

  8. Walt

Wah wah wah – I am the most important person and you must all bow to my awesomenss. Seems to be a theme this day in these articles – whiny millenials and younger. I Blame the parents.

    1. Lol

Morning “Walt”.. I was wondering if baby had woken up from his nap yet

  9. EmilyH

ESH. The kids for sticking their hands out of a moving ride (AND splashing ppl!) and this livestreamer for taking her camera on a water ride. Only good guy is the dad.

  10. Dana

You can have your camera out now on rides? It’s been a long while since I’ve been to Disney but they used to tell you to not have cameraa on rides 🤷

    1. Dawn

You aren’t supposed to and selfie sticks are still prohibited, but they cannot stop everyone from holding their phones. Sadly.

  11. Carol

How about putting down the camera and enjoying the park. And to the person who wrote “part of the contract you consent to by entering the parks includes being video taped for commercial purpose” ~ that is between Disney and the guest and as nothing to do with Youtubers. These people walking around with their cameras out and videoing every step of their trip are a pain in the butt to those of us who just want to enjoy our visit.

  12. Dee Dee

Generally speaking, when you are in public, it is legal to record someone (video and/or audio), as long as they don’t have what is called a reasonable expectation of privacy. And generally in public, you do not have a reasonable expectation of privacy and so you can be recorded.

    1. R

The park is open to the public yes, but it is a private company. You sign a contract with Disney to be filmed for security purposes and their own advertising. You do not consent to being filmed by strangers who use your image as money making scheme online. Recording someone attacking you is different then following people around and getting their images without consent.

  13. Lola

Whats with all these Disney park bashing articles lately? Have you journalists ran out of real life things to report on? Sounds to me, Mar needs to either grow a thicker skin or a set of b*lls. This is something that was happening even back when I was a youngin, and that was a few generations ago. Bring tissue with you buddy cuz after reading this article…sounds like you can use them.

  14. william

I agree with keeping your hands inside the logs but you are on a water ride and pretty much guaranteed to get soaked by the time you get off. What is the big deal about getting splashed a little other than the possibility that you may have some blood mixed with the water if the moron doing the splashing loses their finger in the process.

  15. Kinza

The legality of if aside, it was a kid. Kids do stuff like splash people. It is good the Dad stopped it because it’s dangerous to have your hand in the water but kids do things like that. I’m not shocked that a kid splashed people. If you don’t want to be wet with the ride water, then maybe stay off the ride.

  16. MR.J

I’m siding with the kids. I can remember being a kid at Disney. Being happy, having fun, oh and just being a kid. Touching my finger in the water during almost every water ride. Yes the Dad did the right parenting thing. If your upset over getting a few drops of water tossed on you and OMG let’s be ever so careful with your stupid side hustle camera. Get over it! Buy a better water proof camera or better yet. Find a better hustle.

  17. NobodysBaby

Hell, I would’ve done it just to piss her off. Stupid entitled brat. “Influencers” are a waste of oxygen.

  18. Maxwell McDonough

Why are you complaining about getting wet on a water ride? Of course the water ain’t gonna be clean but you ain’t drinking it or bathing in it, You outta just leave the park then

  19. Joe

Influencers are the worst. Put down the phone and live your life…you can do it, really you can.

  20. AJ

How is this news? A Karen complaining about kids splashing water on a water ride.

  21. Victor

“let me take my camera on splash mountain then complain when I get wet”. “the water is disgusting” . You did willingly get on said WATER ride did you not? I vividly remember one or two signs stating you might get wet. The entire world is out there for you to see and you choose to view it through a camera lens. Best of luck to you and your social media career

  22. Henry

While I agree that everyone needs to keep their hands in the ride, not splash folks with the nasty water, etc., you lso shouldn’t be allowed to film it either. These attention grabbers need to knock it off. I wish there was a way to ban phones/cameras on rides and attractions. People should be enjoying themselves and the experience instead of dealing with these people.

  23. Michael L

    Wow, first world problems.. Lol

  24. Steven

So this person is complaining because they were splashed with dirty water? Don’t ride an attraction that gets you covered in it then!

  25. Aggie

They should ban so called influencers, the whole world would be a little better.

  26. Dnisey

I’m not condoning it, but, it’s nothing new. Children AND adults did it when I went. I was 13 and am now 57. In all seriousness it should’ve been addressed DECADES ago.

  27. Terry

So you take your cameras on a water ride and then take to social media when they get splashed.
    Arent you special !

  28. Jack Mehoff

    These stories suck ass

    1. Bruce Verbeck

And you are a dirty pig!

  29. StupidGames

Anyone putting their hands in the water on Splash or Pirates risk losing fingers (which has happened) or hands crushed (which has happened), and frankly they deserve it.

Anyone filming while riding deserves to have their camera fall and smash (which has happened).

All around, anyone breaking rules deserves what they get. PSGWSP.

    1. Bruce Verbeck

Gee your a breath of fresh air! Not!

  30. It’s litterly splash mountain a water ride water my guy the sighn says you will get wet so mind your business

  31. Hat

I can’t stand streamers. I won’t go to the parks until they are banned.

  32. Mike

You’re on a water ride that will splash you and you’re overly worried about a kid splashing you ?! Grow up Karen. The only thing that is an issue here, is the safety issue of ANYONE putting their hands over the edge and into the water because, and you mentioned it, they can can severely hurt or injured. But complaing about getting splashed on a water ride that will drench you is petty. I’m Pretty sure having your phone or camera out on a moving ride could have some safety ramifications, but nobody is calling you out on that. Next time, mention the safety aspect and not the “oh my God they’re splashing me” drama.

  33. Rob

Oh, poor girl. I was with her about the water right up until she got to the ‘think about me, it’s all about me’ part. ‘My camera’. Hey cupcake, it’s a water splash ride that everyone knows you may get completely soaked on. Deal with it.

  34. Bruce Verbeck

Get a grip ya Twit and lighten up! We’re you ever a kid?! These kids live in real time and I suggest you try it. Get over yourself !
