Could you provide prrof of that? Its easy to say things with no backup. I know Disney had grooming guidelines but never heard they turned away long hair men. But then how do you know they were men? Maybe they were idetifying as one of the 500 made up other genders.
It’s the first posters argument so he must provide proof. That’s how arguments work. You think something then back it up with proof. Why should I go and look it up when YOU should already have it ready to do it. Simple argumentative etiquette.
No, you’re just an uneducated moron. If someone has an accusation, they provide proof to back it up, not rely on the audience to look it up. Congratulations, you learned something new.
Funny how someone so “wildly anti semitic” left no actual evidence of that antisemitism. Walt must have had the same dedication to hiding his prejudice that you have to spreading discredited gossip…
That’s because on August 6. 1970 the motivating factor behind your so called long hair ban was a group of about 300 young “Yippies,” who entered the park with grand plans of capturing Tom Sawyer Island, liberating Minnie Mouse, and cooking Porky Pig (who is not even a Disney character). The park was shut down 5 hours early that day because law enforcement had to forcibly remove these people

Hey Eric Cartman, I don’t know if anyone told you this, but businesses cost money to run, and characters aren’t paid to give you attention. You’re paying to give them attention. The world doesn’t revolve around you, Karen. Save your money and stay home if you’re gonna be a party pooper. I like spending money at Disneyland because I know how to have fun, and I’m not a broke deadbeat like yourself.
I don’t understand why people would have a problem with people who don’t have children going to these parks. Adults are the ones with money not children and the parks weren’t meant for only children it was for everyone. People who have issues with childless people going to the parks should get over it.
My family is now 4 adults. My first visit to DL was Grad Nite. My first to WDW was on my Honeymoon. My children were born Disney babies and grew up to be Disney Adults – with one working at WDW now. Yes, Disney parks are places for all ages!
Wow that’s incredibly rude. It’s not like the kids were forced to become Disney adults because of growing up on them. They obviously enjoyed it. It’s nice to enjoy things in life rather than be a fun sucker that just goes on the internet to poopoo other people’s fun. I feel sorry for you, man.
I attended the Epcot food and wine festival last year and it was awesome. Very much adult centric and I don’t know many people who wouldn’t have had a great time during it. Including my friends who don’t care about Disney.
What this world needs is just one big heaping help of “its not that serious” and “get over yourself”. Its not racially or whatever other way you declared insensitive. You’re just a whiny lil b****.
Just put all of the whiny political activist scum that are on the left, right, middle, and fringe into a sealed off box canyon, give them all weapons, and let things sort themselves out, and, in the meantime, SANE humans will actually get things accomplished.
My wife and I are both from poor families and never got the opportunity to go as children. I never knew existed until I was an adult. I am happy to be able to take my children, and my wife and I enjoy it just as much.
Back in Walt’s day an adult could enjoy memories of the past. Now Disney is so focused on replacing beloved classics for the newest woke trend, what nostalgia will be left? I don’t care how much more money they think that brings in, there are many people that will always love a good blast to the past – even a past they weren’t alive yet to experience.
Yes!!!!! I’m only 25 and yet I’ve become more and more disappointed with all the changes Disney is making to appease the ridiculous “wokeness” of my and new generations. Splash Mountain will be no more, everything is now Frozen or Coco. Were I or my siblings ever around for the old western era? Or even my parents around for the Gilded Age that has inspired much of the parks?
Experienced wild adventures through exotic lands during the early ages of exploration and discoveries? Of course not, that’s kind of the point. Nostalgia for what so many have known and haven’t known! Glimpses into the past and hope for the future. That’s the part of the Disney magic, always has been. The secret ingredient and a goal Walt Disney had, to enduce that feeling. Modern Disney is just going downhill i feel and gosh it breaks our hearts…
Let’s be real here. This isn’t about “Disney Adults.” It’s trolls and cranky people hopping onto a “let’s hate on these people for what they like” trend. People can like whatever they want. Us “Disney Adults” don’t hate on others who lose their money on gambling or sports or whatever you people think is “adult.” Just a bunch of trolls trying to make others suffer in their own pitiful wallowing. If you find yourself on the offensive over someone singing Disney songs and enjoying a theme park, you really need to check yourself and your attitude. Let people love life and find your own. Seriously.
No one is hating on anyone here for liking Disney or.being a “Disney Adult”…. unless of course you like that fawking movie Frozen… people who like that movie should be rounded up and out trains.
My wife is a Disney adult. She grew up with yearly trips and, until Disney’s recent over the top actions, still loved to go. Adults pay the way and adults without children have more disposable income. Disney without adults wouldn’t be profitable.
I’m not a Disney fan, but I fully understand the love that many have for it. It’s not really anymore childish than adults who blow money going to football games, fancy vacations, or days at the spa. All of those things are equally wasteful in that none are actual investments. It’s certainly not any more or less wasteful than my vintage cars, boats, and tractors.
Hearing that video/tape was like hearing from an old friend. Disney/Land has been a source of calm and little trips help regain some sanity in a very different world. I see nothing wrong with loving Disneyland just as I enjoy and mentally re-group at the beach. So, everyone enjoy! Visit the waiting area for the ‘Turtle Talk With Crush’ attraction and get some good music going in your head! Kids need that. Widen the brain cells! Ha! ‘Just Keep Swimming…Just Keep Swimming…
My husband and I liked going to WDW. He always said “to escape reality”. I agree. The day we’d have to check out was the saddest day. We always brought our children AND grandchildren with us. Those were the days when the parks were affordable, before Chapek. It’ll be better when he’s gone!
Disney is a happy place for everyone, Walt made it that way. They have rules, if you don’t like to see happy people of all ages then don’t go, stop judging people. If I want to wear my Mickey Mouse shirt with my Mickey Mouse plushie in my arms and cry when I see Mickey, it is not any of your business. Disney is an escape from harsh reality, so please stop judging.
It’s funny because people who keep saying rumors are the ones who support childhood trafficking such as Matt getz Marjorie Taylor green and other members of the right-wing Christian Congress
well said Krystalcane, they are redirecting. They are the sickos but they want the attention on others so they can keep on with their GOP moral orgies.
If you’re a normal adult that just goes to Disney every now and then (maybe a sisters trip? Or mother/daughter?), that’s totally fine. If you’re 30 and wearing a Lilo and Stitch shirt, clutching the doll and crying when the person in the Stitch suit comes out…You need to stop using Disney for your escapism fix and handle whatever you’re dealing with mentally. That behavior is concerning.
I’m perfectly fine with the childish wonder that was once Disney being enjoyed by adults. I’m against turning Disney into adult content marketed to children.
Sad to see all critics now days online. Why can’t we just embrace his vision and enjoy without judging or ridicule of others? Mean spirited people can’t feel the joy and happiness and dreams that disney gives because they live in the shadows, focused on any minute thing to try to infect others and drag them into their miserable world. They aren’t happy so they get self righteous and hateful to ruin others joy
As an only child of the 1980s, WDW was THE destination on our family vacations to FL each summer. My parents divorced when I was just 5. That is the last place my parents took me before they split. I went back to WDW a few times as a teen and in my 20s with various groups and they found it odd that I chose to traverse the parks alone, that is until I explained that WDW was the last place where I remembered life being perfect and complete as a family. I didn’t even do the big rides. It was all about that wonderful feeling I once felt. Just walking around and hearing the laughter of all the children and seeing happiness in the eyes of all the parents, that was the highlight of my visits as an adult.
So please, take a moment and consider what those adult visitors might be going through before judging them. While there are exceptions, such as adults who visit as thrill seekers with no consideration for the experience of the many children in attendance, using foul language and fighting and dressing inappropriately, others of us are merely there to enjoy the smiling faces and the general happiness of the younger generation, or to savor good memories from days gone by.
My hubby and I just finished using our multi-day passes recently. We got there when it opened and didn’t leave until after the fireworks and Main Street Electric Parade. Never had kids on purpose. We had a blast!!!
There is nothing wrong with liking Disney in theory, but I doubt the mental state of anyone who would be a hyperconsumer of Disney in its current state.
Disney is my motivator in life. Literally going back to school currently for another degree so I can make more money and take my son on more Disney vacations. We take him 1-2 times a year. I went 1-2 times a year by myself throughout college! Most of my favorite memories were made in the parks, and the parks are my favorite places to make new memories with my family. I feel sorry for anyone on here dogging on Disney Adults, sounds like a sad life to me.
It TOTALLY amazes me that the question about adults being Disney Adults because it was what gave them, then as well as now, happiness as well as joy but the responses are total garbage & insults. What is the matter with you people specifically as well as in general? Who died and left you people in charge of other people’s lives?
Personally, I love Disney as a child as well as an adult. I grew up on Sunday night Disney shows & the Mickey Mouse Club. Pretty much the best time in my life. Yes, I had a rather sucky childhood, but the Disney shows gave me hope & some happiness.
I am proud to think of myself as a Disney Adult.
You folks are just mean and nasty “adult?” children.
Let people enjoy the sht they payed for, they should be allowed to enjoy themselves with their own money like everyone else. Just because having children ruined your life doesn’t mean you can go around dictating the freedom of adults that didn’t make the same stupid mistake as you.
Comments for Rare Video of Walt Disney Discussing “Disney Adults” Surfaces
Andre
Funny that Walt said everyone was welcome.
Disney World turned away long haired men back in the day.
Walt
Could you provide prrof of that? Its easy to say things with no backup. I know Disney had grooming guidelines but never heard they turned away long hair men. But then how do you know they were men? Maybe they were idetifying as one of the 500 made up other genders.
Kay
I googled it. Pretty easy to find.
M Lopez
Then. It should be easy for you to copy/paste the search that led you to that.
It’s on YOU to corroborate that. Not on us to refute.
Lol
Wtf? He’s not obligated to do anything. You sound like an entitled twit. Maybe if you question something, you should research it yourself, lol

That’s not how it works. The one making the claim has the burden of proof.
E Cotton
Could you please provide a citation that illustrates the etiquette for proper intent forum discourse?
Stigmadiabolicum
Haha definitely had an archaic 1950s puritannical view towards long hairs..
Also leaving out how wildly anti semitic Walt was haha
Ryan
Where did he say ANYTHING about long haired people?
Ben

As a falconer, my favorite Disney movie is Rusty and the falcon, it’s old, I can’t find it anywhere

Great comment! My inner child loves it! Just left two weeks ago and planning to go back in a few months.

If you are so negative about it, just stay away. No need for comments

Why shouldn’t you be able to enjoy something you grew up with that’s given you so many fond memories?

Exactly !

That was Walt’s vision. I often go by myself and I am 69. But it is more enjoyable accompanied by others especially children
Mel
I took my grandkids 5 years ago. They’re too cool for me now.

My family is now 4 adults. My first visit to DL was Grad Nite. My first to WDW was on my Honeymoon. My children were born Disney babies and grew up to be Disney Adults – with one working at WDW now. Yes, Disney parks are places for all ages!

jal11180
I doubt that your children want anything to do with your life now, Kevin.
Barbara
I love to go to Epcot and I’m an adult. Kids can’t have all the fun.
Mel
I feel sorry for YOU. I bet you have no one around to love you, not even a dog.
M Lopez
Well that was uncalled for.
What sort of logic did you apply with that?
Per our usual agreement, I’ll answer that.
Vacuous logic.
Go on, we’ll wait while you Google the definition of the word “Vacuous”.
Christian
When these sad Full grown adults spend all their time at a theme park over and over, who takes care of all of their cats?
Keil Fleischbein
Hey, when your ex wife dies, who’s gonna take care of your kids?
Josh
Lol, Christian has no kids.. if he does, they’ve disowned him by now.
Gryf
Who cares. Throw them in a wood chipper. Kids are useless
Wendy
Cats take care of themselves, duh.
Gigi
Sad little troll. So you never got a chance to go, huh?
Heidi
When these sad full grown adults spend all their time gambling or betting on sports over and over, who takes care of their house and life?
Fixed it for you.
Missy
1st, at this point, most Disney Adults were Disney kids…
2nd, think of all Disney does to attract adult visitors…
High end restaurants and resorts, spas, etc… at Victoria & Albert’s in Disney’s Grand Floridian, there is a minimum age for guests.
In EPCOT, there is the annual Food and Wine Festival.
Bottom line, the adults are the ones who pay the bills, and Disney can be as enjoyable a vacation for them as it can for any kid.
Nick
I attended the Epcot food and wine festival last year and it was awesome. Very much adult centric and I don’t know many people who wouldn’t have had a great time during it. Including my friends who don’t care about Disney.
Dude
Just don’t act like an 8 year old. Kids hate having you cut in line
Gryf
Nobody cares what kids think. They didn’t pay to get in.
kokomo
So because they arent paying money, they arent human? Does that mean they cant eat food their parents buy because they didnt pay for it?
Jack Sparrow
It’s sad you thought you made a point. Tragic.

Honestly, both you AND Amber Heard have points on your heads, Johnny Depp.

Disney just wants your children to groom along with the rest of the sickos. That’s why they hate adults there
