I would love to get in and look at their maintenance records! Mean time between failures history seems to be decreasing, just by seeing all the breakdowns online. Like to see where they have cut back on budgets, labor and spare parts, along with stretching out PM program frequencies on equipment. If they have a serious accident, OSHA will be there looking and investigating all of their maintenance practices!
Sadly, this isn’t the case!! Diz n Universal both got exemption from inspection bc they agreed to report any injury requiring an overnight hospital stay. Isn’t that sickening??!!! Make me so mad they bought their way out of common decency and safety. Shows us it really is almighty dollar running things!!! I’m boycotting the parks indefinitely, most likely forever!!!
As an “insider”, I can tell you this: even with the rising costs, the company still has more and more people visiting the parks every year. This means higher crowds. Which also means higher wait times. Which also means that the attractions are constantly working at top capacity. Which means more down times. Not to mention down times that are being caused by guests carelessness. Not ALL down times are caused by machine malfunctions or CMs. A lot are due to guests not listening, not watching their children or their belongings. Much of the “long wait times” are caused by guests themselves.
The company COULD go back to creating a better guest experience, less crowds, less wait times, less overworked CMs… but then that would mean limiting capacity and there are a few ways in which that can be achieved, but most guests won’t like those ways.
You can’t have it all… you can’t have less crowding AND lower prices. But I agree that higher prices isn’t really doing much to curb the crowds.
If people rioted for change in the real world the way they do with Disney, maybe we could actually afford a better life.
Quality v. quantity. Disney used to be quality. Sadly, Paycheck and his board have made their choice to go with quantity. There is a difference and it shows.
It seems to me that most of the times when rides like the Haunted Mansion had temporary shutdowns that I experienced, it was because a guest was having difficulty getting on and off the ride and/or obeying directions.

I seriously question the safety of many Disney rides. If they are obviously malfunctioning this badly, what can’t we see?

Definitely many more disruptions in rides at WDW. It is especially disappointing with the prices increasing but the product diminishing.

Quantity? Large parts I’d the parks are still closed to save costs. It isn’t quality or quantity, it is “bare minimum” Disney is focusing on.

If a ride slows, it’s a handicap person
If it stops, it’s a more severe handicap person trying to board
