His religious beliefs are his own but it’s not up to a public place to accommodate everyone’s specific religious beliefs. Eating Halal doesn’t kill like a food allergy. If he was allergic to peanuts , of course they’d accommodate but this is again these cult crazies wanting it their way. I’m atheist and my ‘relgion’ states all food is FREE so why didn’t they accommodate me at Disneyland?
Did you even read the article? It literally says they cater to halal and other religious beliefs. He notified Disney well in advance, and they had no problem taking his money and agreeing to the special request. It’s fine if Disney doesn’t want to cater to people with special diets, but they shouldn’t have advertised Halal meals, and they definitely should not have accepted his dinner reservation and special request if they couldn’t even warm up a meal for him.
Do you know how the meat is preped, Halal food is that which adheres to Islamic law, as defined in the Koran. The Islamic form of slaughtering animals or poultry, dhabiha, involves killing through a cut to the jugular vein, carotid artery and windpipe. Animals must be alive and healthy at the time of slaughter and all blood is drained from the carcass.
Come on, I can’t be everywhere at once. Do you want me to turn on notifications for “Muslim related Disney stories” or something? I applauded Muslim countries for restricting Lightyear, why do you expect so much from me!?
@Steve… so what you’re saying is that you alone are the ‘conservative outrage cult’? I don’t get get you. Who’s expecting anything from YOU when no one knows who you are… or even cares?
I wouldn’t expect anything less from employees these days. Not only Disney. Employees have gotten rude, stupid and ignorant all the way up the chain. I applaud those who are still capable of providing quality service no matter the job.
I feel like we are missing key parts of this story to make any valid statements on what happened. Like such as, if it’s like other theme parks, what microwave are they supposed to use? The ones back in the kitchen? I believe, based on limited information, that the family have a very unique request that Disney just could not accommodate. I find it hard to believe the Disney would just plop down frozen/cold food. Did they bring in their own frozen hallah compliant food and wanted the kitchen to cook said meal? So vague on the details.
The special dietary meals are premade and frozen in advance since they’re not purchased frequently at the parks. Instead of reheating the food like they should have, they just served him the frozen meal and told him to heat it up himself. It 100% was the restaurant dropping the ball, since they were notified about his dietary request 11 days in advance and had plenty of time to notify him that they couldn’t accommodate his request or just cancel his reservation altogether so the guy could find a different restaurant that could serve him.
Any moron that would claim this is a “human rights infringement” doesn’t know what true human rights infringements are and should never speak about things they know nothing about again.

Then why did they offer it as an option and take his money for those meals?

Of course when Disney hates Muslims the conservative outrage cult says nothing.

Common sense
Missing the point for 1000, Alex.

What is it you actually want? Articulate it.

Exactly what I was thinking. You’re ignorant if you think denial of proper table food service at an expensive theme park, is a human rights issue.
