The fact that people in this world are so petty that they will deliberately wear clothing that goes against Disney’s theme park dress code just to get a chance at a free shirt says a lot about the state of the world today. I think Disney giving out free shirts is the wrong way to handle this situation. Their dress code is easy to find online. If you don’t wear appropriate clothing you shouldn’t be allowed in the park. You shouldn’t be rewarded with free Disney merchandise. Until Disney stops catering to the rule breakers people are going to keep testing Disney’s rules.
This is why things increase in price because people want something for nothing!! If you want a Disney shirt, grow and and buy it like everyone else.
The problem with so many people today is they lack common sense. Disney is for everyone, but especially for FAMILIES. If you don’t mind your 10 year old seeing you dress like a whore, that’s on you, but Sally may not want her children to see that. Have RESPECT for others, how hard is that?
using the word whore was completely unnecessary. I get what you’re saying and I agree, but maybe use something not so rude. You can make a point without jabbing at others.
My husband was told to turn his t-shirt inside out because the graphics could be taken “offensively”, but there was no shortage of women wearing half their butt cheeks hanging out from their super short shorts…most kids at Disneyland aren’t even going to be reading someone’s t-shirt, but kids in a stroller are at butt-height behind some of those women
@sarah
Exactly! It doesn’t matter if you agree or disagree the rules are there for a reason and every one is supposed to get the same treatment when rules are broken.
I’ve been a native to Florida my entire life. Never even thought about them having a dreas code. Lmao. If they didnt like wtf ya had on, they shoukda GAVE u one of those Im assuming $50+ hot ads shirts. Not make u pay for them! Woulda turned and went to Universal. Although they ate just as bad bec I had an undercover cop SHOVE me for having a turkey leg walking to our car. Others had food and drinks… Why single ME out? He had about 8 of my friends smearing turkey grease all over his stupid face. F Disney and the whole what USES TO be fun Orlando Disney area. Scumbags…
That’s not the point of this. It’s called common sense, which people seem to lack nowadays. You’re going to a park where families, kids are going to be in abundance. A sensible person would think of that, and dress appropriately, not dress however they want, because they can. Using one’s head, what a concept. Seriously, soup isn’t expect something for nothing, because you dislike the rules, or didn’t think.
I believe you are right. They should be stopped at the check in part and told they can’t come in before they buy any tickets. No refunds then or free shirts.
I did read the article. However there are multiple articles about Disneyland giving away free shirts to people who have broken the dress code. They need to kick anyone out who violates the dress code, no questions asked. Instead they make it a case by case basis and give some people a free shirt.
The real problem is, someone finds a loophole, and first thing they gotta do is spread it all over the internet, most don’t realize Disney has people online reading those post and watching those same videos. a smart person will keep get overs to themselves, not spread it and then complain when it gets fixed.
Guests do know the dress code rules and ignore them. Disney needs to STOP giving free shirts to their excuses. Escort them out of the parks and tell them to return to their resort or wherever and change to a decent shirt/top for a re-entry. Simple!
This is just my opinion but if the woman wore a Mickey Mouse t-shirt that she cut apart just to put safety pins on the front to hold it together to Disneyland, she should have been kicked out. I wouldn’t have let her purchase a different one. Who defaces a Disney shirt just to wear it to a Disney park. Honestly no one should even be given the option of getting a new shirt if they violate the dress code. They should just get kicked out. Rules are put in place for a reason and everyone can view them on the site. People only do this to make their videos. Grow up. The world DOES NOT revolve around you. The parks are for everyone and you really need to respect everyone.
Influencers are to blame for some of this Disney clamp down. As per Roe Disney just has to tell to have to leave and do it publicly so the message gets sent. At the same time Disney gives these influencers freebies, and special passes to keep them placated.
I don’t know about u,but to me that’s just monumentally messed up. Geeze everyone just has to have want they want when want it, Nevermind the rules in place.
Dress codes are there for a reason. You should know that as you are getting dressed to go to the parks. Abide or don’t come-period. No sympathy for folks who don’t.
Stop dressing like a prostitute in a child theme park. It’s very creepy to want to show so much skin to literal children. Stop sexualizing the children. Period.
Guess you didn’t notice how she was holding the “camera” did you? She did that angle because she was hiding the facts that she was braless and the top was covering nothing from below her bellybutton to her breasts. Hence the angle. Same kind of exposure found in Las Vegas on the Strip.
Many of you need to pull your heads out of your as!#%s.
Disney has every right to enforce a decency /modesty dress code. It is not up to Disney to provide proper attire for admittance into one of the most child friendly theme parks anywhere.
If you feel the need to show off your b## bs, chest or a#s…go someplace else, and don’t subject younger children ( or anyone for that matter), to your nonsense and lack of discretion
First and foremost it’s the sense of entitlement that these people have. their expected to get a free shirt by breaking the rules and now since that’s changed their upset that they have to either pay for one or are inconvenience by having to go back and change and act shocked that they were told no. Secondly you are all well aware of how you are dressing and that it is more for clubs or can be seen as inappropriate but because of internet fame keep pushing the envelope to get more hits or just act entitled. stop with the antics, dress appropriately and enjoy a day at the parks.
There should be a dress code and it should be consistently enforced. No, Disney should not give yiu a free article of clothing because you didn’t want to dress appropriately. Time and place people. A family park with a vast diversity of people from different ages, religions, cultures, etc should have rules that need to be followed. You don’t have to agree with it, you just need to comply. Just like going to work, there is a dress code. If you don’t like it, then don’t go.
I hear only Magic Kingdom has their car parking lot tram working.
I also understand that if you rent a mobile scooter from Disney… that an adult cannot take anyone else on it like a child or baby with them 😕
Where was this control in their movies?? Watching Disney turn family friendly into a LGBTQZ nightmare. Why not focus on your content and it may bring back the families instead of telling people gow to dress. I mean my body my choice right guys!!! Or is that only when you support murdering unborn children #FDisney
How the hell is it murder when it’s not even alive? You do realize that unborn means it hasn’t been born yet which legally means it’s not alive, right? And Disney is actually one the the companies that is pro-choice.
Sorry, but it’s actually their property, their choice, although you can choose to not go, or not watch their movies (btw not saying you don’t have a point with the movies, but they have absolutely nothing to do with the dress code at the parks.)
Something is wrong with them if they are standing in a line for hours for a ride after paying over a C note for park entry and they still don’t care or are unaffected by it.
As a former CM, I can tell you that no one who works at Disney is stupid. Your image is followed around the park by security cameras. They not only have the authority to monitor your progress in the park, they have the right to toss you out at any given time AND cancel your tickets and passes. Disney doesn’t do anything without proof to back them up.
Influencers are gonna be the end of Disney parks. Also. Disney should just refuse to let them in if they dont have change of clothes. It’s literally in the park “rules” and if people cant follow them they shouldn’t be allowed to enter.. not get rewarded a new shirt or shorts.
I saw several people wear inappropriate attire in the parks & wondered why they were allowed in. Back when Disneyland opened, you had to be well groomed & dress respectfully to be allowed in. The rules should go back to that!!
I never thought it was a deliberate attempt to get a free shirt. That is outrageous!! They should be told to leave until they can dress appropriately. That goes for guys who wear their pants hanging down off their a__, too.
I don’t care about the clothes….how about Disney invest in a water filtration system . Orlando Disney fountains make you gag. Billions a year and they don’t care about us…..they magically empty tour wallet
I’m fully in agreement if them not giving free shirts or clothing to those individuals that purposely wear things deemed unfit. I went to Disneyland and had my shorts tear while on a ride; multiple cast members told me to go by another pair at the Main Street store. I ended up going to the medical building and they miraculously had a pair that not only fit, but I could keep. Since I endured a wardrobe malfunction due to a ride, i should have been given a voucher for a new garment, but I’ll take the shorts given in any case.
Disney needs to add to their list of rules no piece of clothing that has vulgar language or graphics. It mentioned tattoos but not clothing. Please correct me if I’m wrong. Some kids can read and will start asking questions.
Disney is a corporation ran by the board now. Walt is dead and all they care about is profits. DISNEY TRULY SUCKS NOW…..I’M TYPING THIS FROM DISNEY WORLD RIGHT NOW.
The problem is these young bimbos think they can where whatever they want, wherever they want & don’t care at all about dress codes. They have a lot of nerve complaining in the first place. That disrupt one isn’t even wearing what is not considered a “crop top” at all, it’s just a piece of lace cloth wrapped around her chest where its showing everything. I, for one,, am sick & tired of seeing any female, no matter what age, looking like bimbos with everything hanging out. And these ignorants, are doing this on purpose, however, should be forced to buy a shirt, not get it for free. And why in the world would someone where a not only a ball gown, but a floor length ball gown to Disney. Rules are in place for a reason, yet, people are too self privileged & too self important assuming they can do whatever they want, disgusting.
“Family friendly ” according to whose family? WASP? I am a true Disney kid (Classic Disney). Went every year growing up, twice a year. Disney tattoos all over me, not that it matters. Was also a cast member at WDW and did my college internship there. However, I would not take my family there for nothing. You could not pay me enough to enter that place. It does not contain the magic it once held for the luster is gone. It used to be as soon as you stepped foot on the grounds, the world would melt away and you were transported into a different reality. A place where nothing else mattered, and all your cares and worries were motes of pixie dust carried off into a distant land. Now… now, it’s just another bit of corporate greed just like any other big chain (i.e. Starbucks, McDonald’s). Except it is only for the elite. The house of mouse has lost its way. The magic is truly gone, and I fear it will never recover.
Did it ever occurr to anyone that this happens ALL THE TIME? Disney will try and stop.you BEFORE you get in. Once in ita cheaper to eat the shirt than turn you away . DELIBERATLY TRYING to score a free t shirt because a tik toilet did it is the most childish logic any adult can use.
That’s what happens when you follow the me to and woke movement. Both looney liberal cult policies. The females and males because that is all there is two sexes. Started all this petty BS.
Me too is about sexual harassment and being “woke” is about keeping up with the times and moving forward in thinking. Not related to this article at all.
The best way for the “free shirt” thing to work is for Disney to have a specific stock of t-shirts that are the ones given to the dress code violator. It is not their “choice of shirt”, it is specific to the situation. That would ensure Disney being able to enforce the dress code without people like that Amanda De Meo chick who take advantage and rip off the company by choosing something exorbitant.
I think it was nice that they gave free shirts before, but now people are doing it on purpose to get something for free. Obviously they’re going to stop doing, it’s everyone’s fault who tried to take advantage.
It was considered Disney Magic for the guest that might not know they were inappropriately dressed. Cast member would simply give them a Disney shirt. Pixie dust. Pixie Dust! Another thing taken away because of us guests taking advantage of a generous gift.
