Well, actually, Guardians is the first of its kind. Time Traveler, which I have ridden and enjoy is a free spinning coaster, the cars rotate (spin) but can be slowed or allowed to spin faster based on its braking system under the cars. The Spins are created by the inertia of the traditional dips, drops, speed of a traditional coaster, but the sponning can be controlled. Disney however got patents for designs to Guardians that make the BusBars under each car to spin purposely toward certain scenes and displays throughout the ride. The spinning is more of a rotating toward a specific location to enhance the story being told. So, in short, Guardians is a one of a kind type of omnicoaster. The fact that it has several patents for its unique technology makes it so. And who cares how Disney markets its ride. Many brands across many products market their items as “one of a kind”.
