We rode it for the first time on our last trip. We noticed on the part in the cave that it was double visioned as stated, and it did indeed make me sick. My head was spinning after and I had to sit for a bit. And I’m not one to get motion sickness or sick on rides in general, so it was really odd that it affected me so much. But we rode it another 5 times throughout our vacation (we went off season, very little wait times) and it wasn’t as bad. So probably bad room that first time, lol
Chapek – pinching more pennies. He just wants your money, he couldn’t care less if the food portions are smaller, the rides are broken, the park is full of trash or that we’re waiting in our longest rides ever – as long as he gets more money from us and gives us less in return – all good. I hope these rides don’t fall into such disrepair that they’re permanently damaged.
100% noticed the blurry and at times double vision. After riding the ride when it first opened and seeing the difference today, it is strikingly noticeable.
From what I understand Disney treats attraction AV very differently than Universal. Universal has a department that specializes in AV that goes to each venue every day and does 3D calibration and other AV maintenance. Disney, from what I understand, just has ride techs at each venue that aren’t necessarily an AV specialist but are given some training on that particular rides AV system but they also do other mechanical work on the ride too.
Definitely noticed double vision/ blurriness when we rode in June. Never noticed it before, have ridden since it opened. I just figured it was an ‘off day’ , I assumed they check that every day of operation.
We just rode it today. It was Blurry for me. I also thought maybe it was the glasses they gave me. We have ridden this ride many times since it opened & has always been very clear. I’m just glad to know it wasnt something with my vision.
Speaking of pandora, has anyone noticed the difference in the illuminated glow-in-the-dark sections at night. We went the first year that was open and everything was glowing brightly and easy to see… Almost magical looking. The last time we went things were incredibly dark there at night, and the area had lost a lot of it’s after-dark charm.
Has anyone else noticed this difference? I feel like it’s pretty substantial.
Yes, our last trip at the end of 2021 we noticed Pandora was not nearly as bright as our previous trips. As if all the lighting was replaced with dimmer bulbs. Which makes no sense so the best we came up with was the power was just plain reduced.
We got on FoP 3 times that trip and luckily didn’t hit the bad projector room. Our trip previously we did on our 2nd ride of the day. Man does that make you sick.
My husband and I went on Avatar flight of passage in May and both agreed it’s the best ride we’ve ever been on ever!! Used the Genie pass to help lessen the wait time. Didn’t experience any blurriness! Everything was perfect! The other Avatar ride was ok, but it was less fun than “Pirates of the Caribbean “. It was too tame! Sort of like “It’s a Small world” in the dark.
Rode 5 years ago few months after the ride opened. Was an amazing ride and experience. During this trip in July we rode twice and both times experienced issues. Blurry 3D, water mist effects and smells not working. During my second flight my banshees breathing was out of sync letting each side breathe independent of the other side. If my family had paid the upcharge to ride this I would be even more disappointed and upset at the lack of upkeep. Also rode River Journey many simple effects not working also. Was a very disappointing experience.
Yep, we rode it in July and we’re wondering why it looked so bad. At first I though maybe they spray disinfectant on the glasses and that’s why it was blurry and was trying to see if I could wipe it off so I could enjoy the ride (to no avail). Agreed that something is going on…if it’s only in one theater that bums me out that we drew the short stick and got the crappy experience. Ride it multiple times in 2018 and 2019 and it was always clear and awesome.
I never knew this was a known issue until I saw this article..and the comments. It’s me and wifes favorite ride in WDW, on our last visit last year we did the ride 4 times and we both noticed that the ride felt blurry..we thought it was the glasses or our position but we couldn’t quite figure what felt off..this wasn’t like that in 2019/2018..I guess now I know why, what a shame

They are effectively permanently damaged already. Disney will never fix them. Look at the Yeti.

At least Universal’s budget (screen-based) attractions are calibrated. Disney’s greed is endless.
And this company operates ROLLERCOASTERS. I would feel safer at the county fair.

We were just there in May 2022 and rode FOP twice. Never noticed any bluriness at all. In my book this is by far the best ride Disney has ever created

The paint wears off through the year. I’m not sure how often but they do re apply the paint and will have sections closed off so it can seal properly.

If people paid extra money to ride it, they should ask for refund if ride is not working properly. Thats the only way to get action.

Surprised that no one commented that Mr Rohde left no tax Florida for high tax California.
Joe, what were you thinking?!
