What’s more kind, celebrating someone for being unhealthy, or encouraging them to change their lifestyle so they eat right, exercise, and live a longer, healthier life?
Celebrating people is more kind. Especially as the latter option you provided has been shown by numerous peer-reviewed studies to be damaging to health. So it’s a pretty easy answer. Thanks for asking, and I hope you’ll take this knowledge into your future interactions with others. 🙂
Yes lets “celebrate” higher instances of heart disease, diabetes and a myriad of other health issues so we can do as we damn well please. But I’m sure its a glandular issue. And yes I have fought the battle of the bulge all my life but it’s nothing to celebrate!
I detest the term ‘plus sized’. I’m fat, not plus sized. Either someone is large, or they’re fat. Stop being so sensitive and admit the truth like a responsible adult. There is no shame in being fat. But there is when using words to avoid admitting it.
Never in history has a fat person been considered a warrior. People get fat by overeating and not exercising. Only recently have people had the luxury of an abundance of food and the ability to avoid almost all manual labor.
Awesome! Glad to see that! Definitely encouraging for the future. 🙂
Also, I’m amazed at the absolute cruelty of people in these comments. Fat shaming does NOT help one’s health. It has been shown by countless studies to do the opposite. So if you were really concerned about “health,” you wouldn’t say anything. Pretty simple. Besides, she is certainly healthier than most by being able to do this job in the heat and keep going. So I’d say her health is fine, or at the very least, none of your business.
