I mean, Bob Chapek is a lot of things, but he doesn’t seem senile at all. How do you know what color his house is? Or are YOU so senile you forgot the topic and just put your usual message-board tripe on here, too?
I’m done with Disneyland. My family has had the premium annual passes since they started many years ago. We renewed them for over 25 years. There’s no magic anymore with all the ridiculous things going on now. We won’t be going back because it’s just not the same.
I agree the magic is gone, I took my family every year and enjoyed the magical express where our vacation started when we went to the airport. Now it’s awful you have to preplan so much that it take all the fun out of it
Wow! I agree with you!!! The magic used to start with landing in Orlando and catching the Magical Express. Now the magic is slowly going away little by little. Our trip in Nov. may be our last one. My family and I have going to Disney World for years. We also did the Mickey’s not so scary Halloween. Couldn’t do it this year being sold out and the crazy prices. We went to SeaWorld and The Fun Spot instead. Kids had a great time. They want to go back to Seaworld.
It’s too much money and work to plan! My family has been going consistently for 30 years. I even got married there. Our visit in November will be the last for a while. We recently visited Hershey Park in PA which was affordable and well staffed. There are plenty of theme parks in the US. It’s time to branch out!
Its so sad , Disney has become so commercial and so all about how much money can we make that unfortunately Walt’s dream has totally been forgotten . Went every year as a child , now at 66 , I have non-desire to spend a fortune to just stand in endless lines – the magic is gone – RIP Mickey !
This 100%! We have gone for years since Disney World opened when I was a kid but the magic is gone. They have forgotten about Walt’s dream. It is only about money now. It is now so expensive the average family cannot go. He works for the stockholders. He is making them money so they keep him on and give him raises. Until people stop going and giving them money, nothing will change. And now it is a full time job just to organize the vacation and you have to hope that you get a reservation? So they go ahead and sell you tickets with no guarantee you will even be able to get in? Something is very wrong with that. Very sad, indeed.
Was an annual pass holder for quite a while but we changed to Universal instead of Disney World this year. The last straw(s) for us was doing away with Fastpasses and canceling the Star Wars runs.
CEO’s come and go. Disney’s current state goes through the board as well as penny-pinching Bob. We own DVC and are in it for the long haul…maybe. We have come to the conclusion that, for now, we will use our DVC for the resorts, but utilize the magic of Harry Potter and other nearby parks.
That’s exactly how I feel. I love my DVC but the parks are no longer appealing to me. Vacation should not be so much work. I will continue to use my DVC but take day trips to Universal. The magic is definitely gone for me:(
We have paid of the last annual passes we will be getting. Its exactly what they want. They do not want annual passholders. They feel we don’t spend enough there. So they will be getting exactly as they wish.
It used to be great to pop over for Dinner, dessert and a few hours in the parks. Now universal gets that money.
Im not stupid enough to think that my 5k makes a difference on their bottom line at Disney. But eventually enough people leave and maybe when Florida has had their way with them, MAYBE the board will get tired too. Doubt it tho. They are raking in money from everywhere. But in 5 months we are done. I can afford it… but choose to go where we are welcome at any time.
We had a good time in 2019 but our trip this May was just stressful and disappointing. The prices, lack of amenities, crowds, not enough staff, having to pay for rides or wait in line all day was just crazy. They’re getting a COVID and 50th anniversary bump but people will eventually have had enough.
It’s so sad what Disney has become..I was raised going to Disney World every year since 1972. That was our family trip during the summer..As I grew up I would go sometimes 2 or 3 times a year…(I live in Tennessee) I”m 54 now and all of the changes from having to schedule your days to parks…restaurant bookings…ticket prices …and finally no passes…I never thought so a wonderful place would become some a money hole..
The Parks continue to be packed, the Resorts and Cruise Ships continue to sell out, Disney+ has a record number of subscribers. And you all are still here, reading and commenting on a website focused on Disney. Something isn’t adding up? Bottom line, it doesn’t appear that Disney is going to miss you 🙂
Hmm, okay Steve, I’ll bite. High inflation has a negative impact on the stock market resulting in already nominal returns being negative. So you think Disney stock should go up in times of high inflation where the dollar buys less and disposable incomes are negatively impacted? Come on Steve, you gotta do better than that. Now’s the time to buy Disney stock, it will go up in value. Or be like Steve and go to the 7/11 with your Social Security check and buy more scratch off tickets. The lottery is always a good investment strategy.
Not sure who’s going to break Disney up under “antitrust”. The most recent of these acquisitions was over 10 years ago and some go back almost 25 years. Antitrust would have been investigated at that time. At this point they are inherent and integral components of one large corporation.
S1, thanks for your service and say hi to those powerful connection folks you know. With your help the sky is the limit and can’t wait until you “take over” Disney. Not so sure of the 1960’s thing though. The Vietnam War, the assassinations of President John F Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Cuban Missile Crisis. Maybe bring back the 1970’s when WDW opened. All we had then is Watergate, the break up of the Beatles and Elvis died.
So you believe that a forum like this is for only those that drink the koolaid and believe they should that they should blindly endorse everything Disney is doing and selling?
Other People have as much right as you to express their dismay, frustration and disappointment over the actions of Disney.
🙂 You tell me cause you’re the “smart” guy on this forum. Bought Disney stock on July 14th at $92 a share. It closed yesterday at $116. I’ll do the math for you, that’s a $24 a share increase in 40 days. Steve, that would buy you a lot of scratch off tickets. If your comments weren’t so funny, they’d just be sad.
Wow! I agree with you!!! The magic used to start with landing in Orlando and catching the Magical Express. Now the magic is slowly going away little by little. Our trip in Nov. may be our last one. So sad. We loved Disney, now it’s become the “land of the woke” and NOT in a good way. Chapek can’t seem to stand up to the bullies.
The Disney “Magic” is definitely gone. Chapek is all for profits, not for the Disney experience. Our family used to go every four years, with visits in-between to MNSSHP and the Christmas party. But we will no longer be a part of Chapek’s reign. We went to Universal this past summer– so much better!
We all will continue to love Disney, but not in its current state and form. As much as I would love to go back, the high cost and the overplanning is putting a stop to that. I haven’t been since 2018 and have no current plans to return. I miss the dining plan and Magical Express. But mostly I don’t want to have to plan on which park to go to each day, months ahead of time. And personally, I don’t think Disney should be involved in controversial topics in the news, it’s just not their place to comment. Just stay neutral and offer a magical vacation to all.

We became annual passport holders in 1987. We did so because the parks had a magical feeling to them that didn’t exist at other parks. The employees were wonderful. Prices and crowds were reasonable. When you left the park at night, you were tired, but mentally you started planning the next visit. That was probably what Walt wanted. Then came Eisner and Iger…..and the focus went from a customer focus to shareholder profit. When they did that, prices started to increase and services started to get smaller. When that happened, the Disney illusion started to die. We used to go to Disney 3 or 4 times a year. Since 2015, we’ve been to the park 1 time….hoping to recapture some of that old Disney feeling. But sadly, we’ve concluded it doesn’t exists anymore
Well said! I remember when cast members told you to have a “Disney Day” and they seemed to really enjoy their jobs. People at the parks were truly happy to be there. Now the House of Mouse has become a Rat Race. It’s not fun, it’s work.
My husband and I have taken many trips to Disney world. We have given all ten of our grandkids there own special trip when they turned 6 years old. We have taken many just adult trips but this year we joined the “enough is enough” group. It is no longer affordable and all the perks are gone. We thought Disney was for families. It is definitely not for the middle class anymore. I’m so sad that I will not get to experience the Star Wars area. It is like an ending for our family
we did a family trip last November. We knew it would be busy over Thanksgiving, but it was insane. We have been to Disney probably 20 times over the years. Loved the spontaneity of doing the Park Hopper, and just feeling the Magic. All we did was stare at our phones to navigate the new system, which is ridiculous, and frustrating. We have 3 days left on no expiration tickets, and aren’t really fired up to return any time soon. Sad Sad
I realized that place was being run by tone deaf, depraved weirdos who hate their fans and customers the moment they fired Gina Carano. As soon as they fired Gina (and neglected to give any valid explanation) I canceled Disney + and am boycotting Disney in every way I can. I don’t miss it one bit!
I knew way before that, when Disney Wars Episode I came out. No respect for anyone paying their bills, Disney fans or Star Wars fans. Just woke drivel.
Disney was fine when I was a kid, but I just have no desire to go any longer. Universal, Sea World and Busch Gardens blow Disney away on rides. I do not understand why adults even think about going to Disney. Now you throw in the extraordinary prices, garbage (and overpriced) food, and a company that seems more interested in politics (basically spitting on half the country) than entertainment, all make any desire to visit even more unlikely.
I believe that this is what one would call the K-Mart Effect. Remember when K-Mart was the best place to shop. Then they got to big and started down a road of cost cutting, increased prices, poor maintenance and so on? This is the same thing Chapek is doing with Disney Parks and I can see the same effect occurring. Look at the lack of maintenance now and it is only going to get worse. I figure that it will take Disney about 10 years to accomplish what K-Mart did in what I consider 20 years give or take.
The Disney I miss no longer exists. I was the Disney planner in our family. Even for me, the work it takes to go to the World with reservations and restrictions and the sheer cost make it more restful to stay at work.
Done with Disney. My last trip there was on the 50th (October 1, 2021). I spent a ridiculous amount of money and it was a HUGE disappointment. I’m glad that my kids were able to experience Disney before it went in the gutter – but we will be Universal people from now on. Spent 4 nights there in 2021 and it was way more enjoyable than Disney.
I spent nearly $15K to give my family and I a magical experience. That was for the flight and nine night stay at the Wilderness Lodge. This was in 2015.
We had the top dining plan as well which we made sure to use, but one or two snacks per day doesn’t cut it when burning all those calories. The price for a ice cream bar at $5-$10 each is ridiculous! The price for food and drink is nuts! At least the lightning passes were free.
I know they got hit with having to pay taxes since DeSantis screwed with Disney after the CEO disagreed with the Don’t Say Gay bill.
I believe that celebrities, pro sports players, and businesses should stay out of the public limelight when it comes to politics. Honestly, nothing good can come out of it with this divided country.
Wanna visit the park? get out your phone and make a reservation. Wanna eat while there? get our your phone and make a reservation. Wanna ride a ride? get out your phone and check times then pay extra to make a reservation. Oh there’s also the fact that a majority of the time all those reservations you want to make are unavailable so you should probably just keep staring at your screen hitting refresh until there is something you can reserve. Talk about a magical experience of escaping the real world right!!! First time since 2001 I am not renewing and its entirely because the experience is now less physical and more virtual.
My husband and I have been DVC members since the beginning. Due to illness we have not been to WDW for 3 years but other family members have gone on our behalf. I have no idea how we will enjoy our next visit with all these changes: park reservations, no DVC member cards, using cell phones for room and park entries, parking fees for resort guests and it is becoming near IMPOSSIBLE to get reservations using our points. I do not wish to use my phone for every single aspect of our trip and constantly using it. And don’t even want to mention how much our dues have increased since we purchased. The magic is gone….
I’m done with Disney! Been part of the magic since it opened in 1971, but Chapek has screwed it into something unrecognizable. I live one hour from the front gate of Disney World and would go about every two weeks. Once Chapek took over I’ve watched the parks go downhill while prices rise. The parks are dirty, rides break down frequently, live entertainment has been cut – it’s lost it’s luster and magic. I’m done.
We ended when Disney got stupid with covid. We’ve had the top scale resident passes since they came out with passes. We were also there from opening. I was a little girl, but remember.
Our last trip, before the PLANdemic, we could see things starting to go downhill then.
And now the elimination of splash mountain due to PC management…..yet they go right past the part where all of those characters were based on the tales that originated in Africa and the slaves brought over with them.
Disney is so screwed up, I’m not sure it will ever come back. And it was a park that, unlike the others, had something for everyone.
Chapek is ruining Disney and needs to go. Nickle and dime-ing the middle class doesn’t make loyal customers out of them. Last time I went magic bands and magic express and free parking for resort guests helped make my trip memorable. I haven’t been since. Walt and Roy are probably spinning in the graves at what has become of Disney Parks.
Disney may be there own demise. They are pricing themselves out of the market for middle income citizens. Perhaps their current strategy is to direct their appeal toward a small number of people who have large incomes. 100 people spending $10 equals the same amount as 10 people spending $100.
I’m definitely not in the large income category but would much rather pay more to have fewer people in the park. I’m going out on a limb and predicting prices will continue to go up until the overcrowding stops. They are definitely doing something right if they can continue to sell out with prices going up in this poor economy. Prices everywhere else have gone up, why are we so surprised when Disney does the same? It IS a business after all and Walt knew this would be a cash cow, he charged entry AND per ride. Ticket prices tripled the first year he was opened. I’d gladly pay double if it meant half the crowds/less waiting.
As a shareholder, I could not disagree with you more. Walt never developed this park for elitists, as you seem to be. He developed it for ALL families to come and make some memories together.
If Disney tanks…and so go my shares……so be it. I’d rather see that than it become another playground for the elite.
Totally agree that the magic is gone and the prices are outrageous. There is so much time and stress spent on your phone trying to get your food for the day ordered and trying to get tickets for rides that you have very little time to enjoy a relaxing vacation. It’s too bad the bottom line was more important to Chapek than keeping Walt’s ideal, magical, family vacation as a priority.
My (now ex-)wife “forced” me to got to WDW when our first daughter was 19 mos old (she’s now 29!). One visit was all it took for me to become addicted to the magic! Since then, together or separately, we’ve continued to go multiple times each year. We’d always planned to retire to FL to be near WDW, and eventually, we both did, even though separately, and we’ve even gone back to WDW together since the divorce! I think she will continue to go; somehow, she is still enthralled; I, however, am not. I’ve been a few times this year, having been fortunate to snag a Pirrrrate Pass before they did away with them, and though I did get to experience a bit of Disney Magic recently in a cast member singling me out for a bit of special treatment, I admit I am at the point that the majority of the fun is gone, and simply does not justify the cost. Clearly, Disney/Chapek do not WANT the middle class; they only want the rich, which consists of rude snobs and rude thugs. By squeezing out us middle class-types, I predict they will eventually find they have shot themselves in the big, yellow, inflated-looking mouse-shoed foot. I will NOT be renewing my oh-so-rare-and-desirable Pirrrrate Pass. Even though I’m still working full-time in retirement and actually making more than I ever did as a school administrator pre-retirement, I just cannot justify the cost. It’s crazy. I’m going to start exploring other vacation destinations, despite having retired to FL expressly to be near WDW. None of the other parks will ever measure up to the WDW we experienced when our kids were young. Just as the kids have grown up, and we’ve grown older, I am resigned that WDW is now part of our past. Sadly, whatever lies ahead in WDW’s future will have to be experienced, evaluated and financed by someone else.
I go to Disney whenever I am visiting family in Florida but my last trip this past February was just awful! The magic is gone, the cost was ridiculous for what you get. It was my son’s first trip and it was not at all worth what I paid for. I said it after the trip I will not go back to Disney until they let go of the current CEO and gut out some of the senior leadership. If enough people get fed up Disney will have to look at changing leadership. I hope they do soon.
I’ve been a Passholder for 8 years. I currently have the Platinum pass. It expires in October. I don’t believe I will be renewing. The pass I currently have is now over $1,200 and the the services are less. It saddens me that I can’t get up and go! I live an hour and a half away. I’m sure Disney is saying, “oh well”. That don’t care!
My family and I had been going to WDW twice a month before COVID messed everything up. Now we haven’t been there since reopening. We aren’t planning on buying Annual Passes again. We might be back if the Disney Company wakes up and fires Chapek. He’s the reason the parks are failing.
The last time we visited Disneyland was in 2009 when you got in free if it was your birthday. So I took my husband since it was his b-day (yeah, big spender, lol), and I paid $72 for myself to enter. We took some PB&J’s, a change of shoes (really made a difference!), put it in a locker until it was lunchtime. We ate our sandwiches at the Plaza Pavilion and changed our shoes at one of the outside tables. We rode an incredible 20 attractions that day! We’ve not been back since. Just too crowded, expensive, and all this reservation stuff is a put-off for us. We would just want to let the day evolve, not plan it all out. We did have a really good day, but that was 13 years ago…
I have been at Disney World 80 times in my life. This last time, the magic was gone. I paid for genie plus. I was not having fun. Food was super bad. The 220 dinner atmosphere was below avg.what were they thinking? Food was below avg everywhere. The castle was good. Germany was below avg as well. I eat at all the best restaurants. The food was short of quality.

Its so sad , Disney has become so commercial and so all about how much money can we make that unfortunately Walt’s dream has totally been forgotten . Went every year as a child , now at 66 , I have non-desire to spend a fortune to just stand in endless lines – the magic is gone – RIP Mickey !
Karen
Casia
Was an annual pass holder for quite a while but we changed to Universal instead of Disney World this year. The last straw(s) for us was doing away with Fastpasses and canceling the Star Wars runs.
Mickeymouse3
CEO’s come and go. Disney’s current state goes through the board as well as penny-pinching Bob. We own DVC and are in it for the long haul…maybe. We have come to the conclusion that, for now, we will use our DVC for the resorts, but utilize the magic of Harry Potter and other nearby parks.
Barbara A Ford
That’s exactly how I feel. I love my DVC but the parks are no longer appealing to me. Vacation should not be so much work. I will continue to use my DVC but take day trips to Universal. The magic is definitely gone for me:(
Dj
Daryl
So you rather get cancer by going to Universal. You idiot.
Joan
They lost us at 25$ a day to park
Kim
Who are you? Just another butthead that enjoys putting others down.
billnyenotascienceguy
@Daryl..What does that even mean?
Steve
You are a 12 year old.
Micky
The only idiot within this forum is looking at you from the mirror!
JB
We had a good time in 2019 but our trip this May was just stressful and disappointing. The prices, lack of amenities, crowds, not enough staff, having to pay for rides or wait in line all day was just crazy. They’re getting a COVID and 50th anniversary bump but people will eventually have had enough.
Christina Arpino
It’s so sad what Disney has become..I was raised going to Disney World every year since 1972. That was our family trip during the summer..As I grew up I would go sometimes 2 or 3 times a year…(I live in Tennessee) I”m 54 now and all of the changes from having to schedule your days to parks…restaurant bookings…ticket prices …and finally no passes…I never thought so a wonderful place would become some a money hole..
Ron
The Parks continue to be packed, the Resorts and Cruise Ships continue to sell out, Disney+ has a record number of subscribers. And you all are still here, reading and commenting on a website focused on Disney. Something isn’t adding up? Bottom line, it doesn’t appear that Disney is going to miss you 🙂
Steve
Their stock is still in the gutter despite historic inflation. Why do you think that might be?
Ron
Hmm, okay Steve, I’ll bite. High inflation has a negative impact on the stock market resulting in already nominal returns being negative. So you think Disney stock should go up in times of high inflation where the dollar buys less and disposable incomes are negatively impacted? Come on Steve, you gotta do better than that. Now’s the time to buy Disney stock, it will go up in value. Or be like Steve and go to the 7/11 with your Social Security check and buy more scratch off tickets. The lottery is always a good investment strategy.
Steve
A guy who has no money and thinks Disney is a good investment pretending to know how investing works. Classic!
JohnnyJumpup
Not sure who’s going to break Disney up under “antitrust”. The most recent of these acquisitions was over 10 years ago and some go back almost 25 years. Antitrust would have been investigated at that time. At this point they are inherent and integral components of one large corporation.
Emma
S1, thanks for your service and say hi to those powerful connection folks you know. With your help the sky is the limit and can’t wait until you “take over” Disney. Not so sure of the 1960’s thing though. The Vietnam War, the assassinations of President John F Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Cuban Missile Crisis. Maybe bring back the 1970’s when WDW opened. All we had then is Watergate, the break up of the Beatles and Elvis died.
Mickey
So you believe that a forum like this is for only those that drink the koolaid and believe they should that they should blindly endorse everything Disney is doing and selling?
Other People have as much right as you to express their dismay, frustration and disappointment over the actions of Disney.
Steve
You are the one gullible enough to buy Disney stock. How did that work out?
Ron
🙂 You tell me cause you’re the “smart” guy on this forum. Bought Disney stock on July 14th at $92 a share. It closed yesterday at $116. I’ll do the math for you, that’s a $24 a share increase in 40 days. Steve, that would buy you a lot of scratch off tickets. If your comments weren’t so funny, they’d just be sad.
Denis
One last trip to use up our pass and we are done!
Kim
Stephanie McCurry
The Disney “Magic” is definitely gone. Chapek is all for profits, not for the Disney experience. Our family used to go every four years, with visits in-between to MNSSHP and the Christmas party. But we will no longer be a part of Chapek’s reign. We went to Universal this past summer– so much better!
Carol Graney
We all will continue to love Disney, but not in its current state and form. As much as I would love to go back, the high cost and the overplanning is putting a stop to that. I haven’t been since 2018 and have no current plans to return. I miss the dining plan and Magical Express. But mostly I don’t want to have to plan on which park to go to each day, months ahead of time. And personally, I don’t think Disney should be involved in controversial topics in the news, it’s just not their place to comment. Just stay neutral and offer a magical vacation to all.
Kim

He won’t stand up to him because he is one of them. So was Iger, who hired them all, often replacing normal people with crazy wokesters.
Ex-Mouse
Kim
Well said! I remember when cast members told you to have a “Disney Day” and they seemed to really enjoy their jobs. People at the parks were truly happy to be there. Now the House of Mouse has become a Rat Race. It’s not fun, it’s work.
Therese
My husband and I have taken many trips to Disney world. We have given all ten of our grandkids there own special trip when they turned 6 years old. We have taken many just adult trips but this year we joined the “enough is enough” group. It is no longer affordable and all the perks are gone. We thought Disney was for families. It is definitely not for the middle class anymore. I’m so sad that I will not get to experience the Star Wars area. It is like an ending for our family
Carol
we did a family trip last November. Sad Sad
JayArnold
I realized that place was being run by tone deaf, depraved weirdos who hate their fans and customers the moment they fired Gina Carano. As soon as they fired Gina (and neglected to give any valid explanation) I canceled Disney + and am boycotting Disney in every way I can. I don’t miss it one bit!
Steve
I knew way before that, when Disney Wars Episode I came out. No respect for anyone paying their bills, Disney fans or Star Wars fans. Just woke drivel.
Chuck Richards
Disney was fine when I was a kid, but I just have no desire to go any longer. Universal, Sea World and Busch Gardens blow Disney away on rides. I do not understand why adults even think about going to Disney. Now you throw in the extraordinary prices, garbage (and overpriced) food, and a company that seems more interested in politics (basically spitting on half the country) than entertainment, all make any desire to visit even more unlikely.
Steve
Disney is garbage. Iger steered for the cliff and Paycheck gunned it.
Tim
I believe that this is what one would call the K-Mart Effect. Remember when K-Mart was the best place to shop. Then they got to big and started down a road of cost cutting, increased prices, poor maintenance and so on? This is the same thing Chapek is doing with Disney Parks and I can see the same effect occurring. Look at the lack of maintenance now and it is only going to get worse. I figure that it will take Disney about 10 years to accomplish what K-Mart did in what I consider 20 years give or take.
Steve
Wait for someone to die on their poorly maintained rides and Desantis to run a full investigation.
Jay Weckerle
The Disney I miss no longer exists. I was the Disney planner in our family. Even for me, the work it takes to go to the World with reservations and restrictions and the sheer cost make it more restful to stay at work.
Jennifer
Done with Disney. My last trip there was on the 50th (October 1, 2021). I spent a ridiculous amount of money and it was a HUGE disappointment. I’m glad that my kids were able to experience Disney before it went in the gutter – but we will be Universal people from now on. Spent 4 nights there in 2021 and it was way more enjoyable than Disney.
Catherine
Bill
The Anaheim parks are really bad. It feels like no one is enjoying being there, guests and cast members alike.
Tom
Why in the hell don’t you all cancel your Disney plus subscription? That’s the only thing that will send a message!
Steve
I can’t, I never had one.
My annual pass, though that isn’t being renewed.
Colin
Wanna visit the park? get out your phone and make a reservation. Wanna eat while there? get our your phone and make a reservation. Wanna ride a ride? get out your phone and check times then pay extra to make a reservation. Oh there’s also the fact that a majority of the time all those reservations you want to make are unavailable so you should probably just keep staring at your screen hitting refresh until there is something you can reserve. Talk about a magical experience of escaping the real world right!!! First time since 2001 I am not renewing and its entirely because the experience is now less physical and more virtual.
Linda
My husband and I have been DVC members since the beginning. Due to illness we have not been to WDW for 3 years but other family members have gone on our behalf. I have no idea how we will enjoy our next visit with all these changes: park reservations, no DVC member cards, using cell phones for room and park entries, parking fees for resort guests and it is becoming near IMPOSSIBLE to get reservations using our points. I do not wish to use my phone for every single aspect of our trip and constantly using it. And don’t even want to mention how much our dues have increased since we purchased. The magic is gone….
Melanie
I’m done with Disney! Been part of the magic since it opened in 1971, but Chapek has screwed it into something unrecognizable. I live one hour from the front gate of Disney World and would go about every two weeks. Once Chapek took over I’ve watched the parks go downhill while prices rise. The parks are dirty, rides break down frequently, live entertainment has been cut – it’s lost it’s luster and magic. I’m done.
Kim
We ended when Disney got stupid with covid. We’ve had the top scale resident passes since they came out with passes. We were also there from opening. I was a little girl, but remember.
Our last trip, before the PLANdemic, we could see things starting to go downhill then.
And now the elimination of splash mountain due to PC management…..yet they go right past the part where all of those characters were based on the tales that originated in Africa and the slaves brought over with them.
Disney is so screwed up, I’m not sure it will ever come back. And it was a park that, unlike the others, had something for everyone.
Barbara
Have visited since opening day. Last November was my final visit. Chapek has ruined Di$ney. I’m done. Time to rediscover Universal
Jayne1955
Chapek is ruining Disney and needs to go. Nickle and dime-ing the middle class doesn’t make loyal customers out of them. Last time I went magic bands and magic express and free parking for resort guests helped make my trip memorable. I haven’t been since. Walt and Roy are probably spinning in the graves at what has become of Disney Parks.
Eileen
Disney may be there own demise. They are pricing themselves out of the market for middle income citizens. Perhaps their current strategy is to direct their appeal toward a small number of people who have large incomes. 100 people spending $10 equals the same amount as 10 people spending $100.
VacaDad
I’m definitely not in the large income category but would much rather pay more to have fewer people in the park. I’m going out on a limb and predicting prices will continue to go up until the overcrowding stops. They are definitely doing something right if they can continue to sell out with prices going up in this poor economy. Prices everywhere else have gone up, why are we so surprised when Disney does the same? It IS a business after all and Walt knew this would be a cash cow, he charged entry AND per ride. Ticket prices tripled the first year he was opened. I’d gladly pay double if it meant half the crowds/less waiting.
Kim
As a shareholder, I could not disagree with you more. Walt never developed this park for elitists, as you seem to be. He developed it for ALL families to come and make some memories together.
If Disney tanks…and so go my shares……so be it. I’d rather see that than it become another playground for the elite.
sam
Totally agree that the magic is gone and the prices are outrageous. There is so much time and stress spent on your phone trying to get your food for the day ordered and trying to get tickets for rides that you have very little time to enjoy a relaxing vacation. It’s too bad the bottom line was more important to Chapek than keeping Walt’s ideal, magical, family vacation as a priority.
princeofprussia
Mason
I didn’t leave The Xalt Disney Company , The Xalt Disney Company left me. That is how I see it.
Amanda
I go to Disney whenever I am visiting family in Florida but my last trip this past February was just awful! The magic is gone, the cost was ridiculous for what you get. It was my son’s first trip and it was not at all worth what I paid for. I said it after the trip I will not go back to Disney until they let go of the current CEO and gut out some of the senior leadership. If enough people get fed up Disney will have to look at changing leadership. I hope they do soon.
CB
I’ve been a Passholder for 8 years. I currently have the Platinum pass. It expires in October. I don’t believe I will be renewing. The pass I currently have is now over $1,200 and the the services are less. It saddens me that I can’t get up and go! I live an hour and a half away. I’m sure Disney is saying, “oh well”. That don’t care!
Sharon
My family and I had been going to WDW twice a month before COVID messed everything up. Now we haven’t been there since reopening. We aren’t planning on buying Annual Passes again. We might be back if the Disney Company wakes up and fires Chapek. He’s the reason the parks are failing.
Kurt
David orey
I’m done with them. Go woke go broke. I don’t need to be preached at about political views by some Hollywood pedo.
dnordic
I have been at Disney World 80 times in my life. This last time, the magic was gone. I paid for genie plus. I was not having fun. Food was super bad. The 220 dinner atmosphere was below avg.what were they thinking? Food was below avg everywhere. The castle was good. Germany was below avg as well. I eat at all the best restaurants. The food was short of quality.
Kevin
Chapek is a money hungry person. Don’t care about you or me just wants profits Disney is making millions and just want more
Christina
Sorry, I’m not completely done yet but I’m not going annually like I used to and the last couple of trips I skipped Disney all together.
