Happened the exact same way to me too. I wasn’t even in a position to have renewed in my 4 day window, and was told rough luck by the Supervisor. Really lousy customer care.
Totally expected out of this Disney Company. The management including the board are woke and suck. They could care less about you little people. SPEND YOUR DOLLARS ELSEWHERE. There is life after Disney – until they change!
Lol, and there’s good ole “Walt”. Hates Disney soooo much, that he spends all his time on this website telling everyone that he hates Disney. What a miser@bIe way to live. You should really follow your own advise. I assume you’re unemployed, but there are still better things for you to do with your life than spread your Dumpist ideals on here, “Walt”.
It looks like Disney is phasing out Annual Passes/Magic Keys. If you don’t renew then the pass is gone. I noticed that the magic keys are only for renewals and not for new applicants.
What a stupid comment. What does that have to do with anything if u pay in full or u pay monthly? U prob just mad cuz u can’t afford one no matter how u could pay.
Why be such an a-hole for no reason? Charles simply voiced his opinion on the fact that southern California residents have the option to make monthly payments on the Keys, when non-SoCal residents must pay in full. What does that have to do with someone being unable to afford it? There are lots of us that live comfortably,
but dont want to shell out several hundred dollars at one time for something. And a huge majority of the countries population live paycheck to paycheck…. We all have the freedom of speech to voice our opinions, but berating someone for it is not cool.
As a Magic Key Holder we were aware of this. Renewals ONLY for CURRENT magic key holders. After your exp date nothing you can do because it would be like purchasing a new one. We need to take accountability and not be entitled. Rules are rules. I renewed a month prior my exp date to avoid something like this. Forgetting or keys selling out.
There was no renewal option before 8/18 (when it went live) and my pass expired 8/24. Renewal link kept crashing or leading to a dead link. How did you renew a month prior when they shut down the renewal option while it was still unannounced and not live yet?
Same here… given 7 days to renew. Renewal link kept crashing or going to broken links during those 7 days and then the pass fully expired. Customer service told me that I should have called them about it crashing and stated that we have UP to 30 days before pass expiration to renew. Quite disappointed so I’ll most likely just explore what disneyworld or put that money towards my future revisit of Tokyo Disneyland
Why not build another Disneyland in Nevada I see a lot of unhappy guests and if I was Disney CEO I wouldn’t ignore complaints I would Actually take the initiative and see how we could expand the park even if it means to build a Disney casino on the las Vegas strip ..
We are getting so disillusioned with Disney’s decision to move away from their previous dedicated customer support. We are 20+ year DVC members and we always bought annual passes and went on multiple trips each year to WDW. The annual pass allowed us to do that. Now we cannot get annual passes at all ( we are from PA not Florida) and we’ve cut back our trips dramatically. Not sure how Disney thinks it’s to their advantage when we spent money on food , clothing , souvenirs etc every time we went. The final straw for us was when I called DVC to ask when AP’s would become available again to DVC members. The response …. “ your not the demographic Disney is focusing on”. That summed it all up for us.
We are 20+ year DVC members who always bought AP’s and made multiple trips each year to WDW from our PA home. Not any more. We cannot even buy annual passes and when I called DVC to ask when they would become available again I was told “ your not the demographic Disney is focusing on”. That was the most insulting thing to be told after the tens of thousands of dollars we’ve invested in our membership and our costly vacations. Things have definitely changed for the worse with this current management team who seems determined to replace the magic and Walt’s vision with greed
On the app it states that our passes expire on 10/1. I called 9/2 to renew and was told they are not renewable since we bought them 8/25 and they have been expired since then. We have not used them yet due to health issues but wanted to renew them. We have reservations for the end of September, and as I stated before, the app says they expire 10/1. I talked to a manager, who was not very helpful and got sharp toward the end of the conversation. I explained everything to her but was told there is nothing that can be done and I will have to wait to buy a new key IF and when they become available. This is not the customer service I have come to expect from Disney.

Just stop giving disney any more of your money- time to move on
Underwhelmed.
Our passes expire November 30th. If they’re sold out of them before we can renew, we’re screwed. Absolutely awful customer service.

I take it that you work for Disney. Is your name “Bob”.
Lol
I take it your name is really Karen?

If they really wanted a quote “more favorable customer mix” they would have eliminated the monthly payments option.
Charles
Exactly. Living in Arizona. Only 6 hours away we have to pay in full. Someone who lives up in Northern California gets payments. Not fair Disneyland.

It’s not the responsibility of the corporation if you read the expiration date wrong. Have some accountability and stop trying to blame someone else.
