Talk about a whiner. First come first serve. There’s a lot of places to sit around the park. Jolly Holiday is right around the corner and they have a lot of tables.
No. I don’t trust trading at the park. I used to trade online, but too many offer a Hidden Mickey pin for an LE pin and then get upset when you won’t trade. Its not fun like it used to be. Disneyland used to have trading events. What happened?
I think they should just keep it outside in the picnic area like it has always been. There is enough tables and real traders know about this. Doing it inside the park like this is really strange to me. I feel like it’s for attention.
I don’t Pin Trade, but I don’t have a problem with Pin Traders.
Team Disney Anaheim could easily solve this by bringing back “designated pin trading areas” (Cast Members can be in charge and there can be a time limit for how long you can Pin Trade). Just decide where inside the Theme Park and where outside the Theme Park (don’t forget the hand sanitizer!)
Team Disney Anaheim does need to bring back more shaded seating (for dining, for taking a break, etc). They claimed to have widen the pathways between Lands (but all they did was get rid of benches and landscaping!)
I think If Disney allows pin trading, which they obviously do, they a should provide tables or tell guests to only trade what they can hold out carry (which is what I see at WDW). I think it’s disrespectful to take up any seating. I don’t know about Disneyland but at WDW there’s never enough seating anyway.
Every time I get on this site to read Anything, all I read/see is MURMURING & COMPLAINING about EVERYTHING WRONG WITH DISNEYLAND OR WALT DISNEY WORLD. I think it’s time to unsubscribe to this site. I get such a headache reading all of this. It use to be fun reading the different ideas, comments and so on, but now a-days all I see is complaining & hating each other. Toodles 🙂👋🏼🙂👋🏼🙂
The times I managed to get out to SoCal for work I would visit Disneyland as much as possible. I got into trading pins myself, but kind of limited myself to certain themes. I eventually started carrying around a little folder type shoulder satchel, and would sometimes sit on a bench in certain spots to relax, have a bite, and/or just kick back and set out my opened satchel next to me and see if anyone wanted to come up and look. Never had any issues with anyone, so I don’t see what the fuss is all about (some people just like to moan and groan a lot I guess). I remember catching a couple of times some little event someone organized and they’d have a whole bunch of people in the evening at a large group of tables over in California Adventure trading A LOT of pins. Was kinda neat. I even had one time someone from Japan trade me a nice pin from there for something from my limited selection.
My wife used to be a Pin Trader.. It’s like the 7th ring in hell.. Many grifters are involved.. The change to reservations was an attempt to reign them in by closing them out of the parks
I like pin trading but the last time because of pandemic rules, I could not do much. I love to do the mystery pins and use my extras to trade. I love when kids come up and offer a lesser pin for a mystery pin. I get such a chuckle seeing the kid think he/she has pulled a fast one on me. The parents look over all upset and I’m laughing. Little do they know I probably have a dozen of that same pin. 😉
My kids have always loved to pin trade. Even as young adult they still do. It’s something we done every time we’re in the park. Plus we’ve always been annual pass holders until COVID. Pin are not cheap but it’s a fun part of Disneyland just like getting a new pair of Mickey Mouse ears!! Last time I went Oct 2021 I don’t remember seeing any signs on those benches saying they are reserved for anybody!! Ppl just always have something to complain about. They want to turn the happiest place on earth into the rest of the grouchiest places on earth. Geez.
I’ve been to both Disney world and Disney land many times and have found it near impossible to find some place to sit and eat. I think if the traiders are capable of carrying boxes and boxes of pins they should be able to carry in their own table to set up as well and not block public benches that people could sit on.
Disney is missing the mark lately. I have literally thousands invested in the pin trading hobby. The last time my family and I went to DW, they had less then half of the attractions open, and the food court was a nightmare because of their fully embracing the covid crap, and pin trading was a joke. From the precovid times I went, compared to this last time, there was maybe 5-10% cast members trading. Every shop had a board to trade off of, but not this last time. Of the entire park, there were literally 3 per park, out of 50per park. The time spent there should be totally embarsing to those working at Disney. I have a disability and have little mobility, so while my family goes on rides, I pin trade. My entire vacation experience was ruined by this policy change, and they were not interested in recouping my losses or the cash spent on my portion of the vacation. So, I solved this issue by advocating against anything Disney related, even planning our new vacation spots to dollywood in tennessee instead.
If they want to trade, fine, but don’t make other guests sit on the ground so you can have space for your pins! That is rude and people need to rest or eat somewhere comfortable, be considerate.
We were at the park a couple of weeks ago..the first day I thought it was some type of “trading day” but, each day we were there..more and more people sitting on the floor all around that area near the water fountain..it was getting messy, hard to move with my scooter…one girl had no shoes on sitting in the dirt..there dirty backpacks thrown all over, this loud talking from this very enthusiastic trader..you would have thought he was performing a stage show lol..they were taking things out of bags ..putting things back in bags..I wondered how that was allowed so close to the gift shop right there. I know people are very into that hobby…but it should be more controlled than that day. Yea..it looked like a garage sale type situation…maybe next time I’ll park my scooter near the snack stand and sell frozen water bottles🤷♀️🤭🤣

Pin trading is very fun and has been so limited in the park. Everyone has a right to enjoy Disneyland as they see fit.
Bob
So if someone’s idea of having fun at Disney included blocking lines for rides would that still be acceptable to you?

As long as their rights don’t infringe on other people’s rights.

Pin trading in and of itself is such a joke LOL…people think it is their retirement plan or something.

Bring back the full pin trading experience like it used to be and ditch the whole germaphobic excuse and this type of thing wouldn’t happen.
