  1. Is the people mover sign still present at the entrance of the attraction and on the map? If so, I’m good.

  2. I find it kind of ironic that Disney is doing this for a corporate sponsor but wouldn’t do a complete overhaul of the monorail system for free sponsored by Siemens

What a dump this place has become

      Amen.

Its so the “furries” can ride and not be offended because they identify as “animals” not “people”.
With Disney, it wouldn’t surprise me sadly

now you are just making things up. You can not make your own facts up.

      1. Chris

Sadly, there are people that identify themselves as “furies” and not people now, so there is some truth to the statement, but I doubt it is the reason for the signs removal.

    2. Laura

You’re so wrong it’s laughable. Tell me you often take “facts” out your boot?

  5. Kathleen

It’s too keep those who don’t identify as “people” from being offended.

  6. One of my fav rides! So enjoyable! I think the place has become so woke though that they have killed a lot of the Magic! Old man Walt definitely would not appreciate!

I was waiting for the first ‘woke’ comment to come about changing a SIGN. Good grief!

      1. Bob

You’re a fine example of someone who’s woke.

But People still buy the tickets and merchandise. Stop giving Disney Execs. money; when will people learn that Corporations and Executives are only attentive to dollar signs and sales numbers.
Want change, hit them in their wallets. Stop going to the parks, and stop buying their merchandise.

Sign should say “Thing that moves things”

  9. Charlotte

But the ride is still there, right? Then why care about signage? People getting so worked up about something so trivial.

  10. Mark

Didn’t the sign back in the dark ages say Wedway People Mover? Did people get bent out of shape when they removed that sign. Probably not because there wasn’t social media to complain on, or these stupid sites that makes everything sound like it’s the end of the world!

I knew before I even started reading the comments that some idiot would try to blame the “woke” or state it must have “offended” someone. Thank you to the idiots who proved my theory right. So now take a moment and try to figure out why a sign may have offended anyone. Now take another moment and try to figure out why the “woke” would want the sign changed. Okay. You got the answer? If you did, then you passed the test to confirm you are indeed an idiot. If you did not come up with an answer, congratulations, you’re not a complete idiot so stop spouting the nonsense of “woke and offended” as an excuse for everything in this country. For those who did not even think to use “woke” or “offended” in their replies, congratulations you are the intelligent ones who also use common sense to navigate through life. Remember folks, this is not the Disney we all loved, this is now a money hungry, greedy Disney run by an idiot who plays both sides of the fence to maximize the profit which in turn gives him a bigger bonus. This is now the story of a man and his board who do not care about the guests any longer, only money.

I can’t imagine why the new sponsor would care if it was called “PeopleMover”?
So, why would Disney change the name?
Makes no sense, especially since the name is related to a very popular ride.

At the end of the day, Disney can no longer afford to not become corporate shills and raise the cost of everything.
Did they change the sign directly due to woke nonsense? No.
It is however, their penchant for pushing woke nonsense that cause them to lose so much money, they could never be an entirely independent entity, at this point.
Yes, they wanted to move with the Twitter crowd and keep up appearances, but what did it cost them?
    Everything.

Disney attractions have always had corporate sponsors. The house of the future was sponsored by Monsanto. If you had wings was sponsored by Delta.
      Always had corporate sponsors.

  14. Mickeymouse3

Simply change the name to “Carbon unit mover”
