Considering that previously it couldn’t be used during the party, I am sure there are kinks they have to work out, but really you wouldn’t think it would be that hard.
We just spent 4 days in the parks. Everyday was a challenge to get return times. They told us to uninstall the app. Which we did several times a day. Finally gave up and had to just go to the attractions and get return times direct. Then they would disappear. Four days of complete stress and inconvenience.
I find it funny that people are whining about using DAS with ADHD… the last time I went with a friend in a wheelchair, he was ineligible for DAS since “he could sit in his chair in the queue.” So let me get this straight- people with actual, physical handicaps can’t get a DAS pass, but if you might throw a tantrum waiting in line for more than five minutes you’re golden.
I totally agree- I have 2 adult children with autism, ADHD, and various medical issues. My son has nearly died 4 times in his 22 years. How ignorant and inconsiderate some people can be. DAS is a lifesaver for someone who wants to experience the same things that “normal healthy” people can enjoy each day.
until till you have a kid on spectrum keep your f….. comments to yourself gavin… disney had to make the lines wider since people misused the das pass in past just to skip the lines back in the day… i lend you my kid for the day and lets see how you do….
Physical handicaps come in many forms. That being said this is for those that cannot wait in line, the problem they have is that many people have “cheated” the system. I am so disappointed in my fellow humans! As Chris mentioned Disney had to change a lot of the queue lines because of this. As a wheelchair user there are still some queues that are not mobility friendly (Jungle cruise, Small world) so you still have to get a return time or go in another entrance.
As someone who assists individuals with both physical and developmental challenges, I have to say I understand your frustration but unfortunately as I said a few ruined it for some individuals that could benefit from this. Unfortunately, Disney can’t ask for proof because of HIPPA and I’m sure other regulations. 😤
Yes, if it makes it difficult for you to wait in line! That is what it is for! Obviously, this person did not have a reason that they were unable to wait in line.
Just so you know they are really cracking down on this as it has become a ‘tik tok’ trend to ‘pretend’ you need a wheelchair just to get this ‘privilege’. (Like it is a ‘privilege’ to worry about a ‘melt down’ constantly🤦♀️) This is what really makes me upset! I am afraid that when someone who truly needs this service may not get it because of these “Jerks”
It is hard enough trying to navigate the parks with physical and/or developmental issues. That being said that is why we like to visit Disney, not only do we not have to worry about transportation to and from the parks so many of the rides are accessible 😊
First uneducated person!!! Not all disabilities are physical! Good to know I still have to deal with boneheads like you! Yes I said your a bonehead!!! ….because you took the time to write on this site and try to shame or gaslight whatever to all the parents who like myself deal with a child on the Spectrum..yes that’s what it’s called now…google it if you don’t know what I’m talking about? From a accepting, educated person
I understand your frustration but please remember this is also difficult for those that because of the actions of some still have to wait. In many cases they then have to wait again at the ride vehicles for a vehicle that can accommodate them as not all ride vehicles are accessible to wheelchair users.
You truly have no idea what it is like having a child with Autism and trying to navigate Disney World. The poster was not whining about waiting in line, they were talking about having issues with the app. We experienced the same issue in using the DAS with the app when we were just at Disney World and even though it was not during a party it was still frustrating. These issue not only affect DAS but they also affect Genie + as well. So please do not talk about something you know absolutely nothing about. The DAS was NEVER a front of the line pass.
You are correct you still have to wait the wait time just not in line and… might I add Disney tends to ‘pad’ the wait times so…
I am wondering if you found any times or situations that the app was more ‘glitchy’ just wondering since we are preparing for a trip ourselves and looking at our best options. You said it also affected the Genie + so it sounds like it is the typical Disney app issue that has been happening since it was launched even before the Genie + and DAS being added 😤You would think they would have worked out the bugs by now 🤷♀️ Oh well!
Hello insensitive uneducated person…”actual” disabilities include those with neurological disabilities this includes those diagnosed with Autism, adhd, and a number of other neurological disabilities. People like yourself are what has made navigating the world of the neurotypical so difficult for our kiddos. If they don’t “look” disabled they aren’t disabled. It’s Tuesday Karen, why don’t you take a break today.
As an autistic and ADHD adult who both used to be a CM and who used DAS nearly every single time I go to the parks, I’m going to kindly ask you to keep your mouth shut on this one. You have no idea what it’s like existing as a person with invisible disabilities at a theme park with lines like this, let alone in the rest of the neurotypical-geared world.
You try having meltdowns over things that other people think are miniscule issues at best and see how you feel when people treat you like you’re an incompetent child. I still have a hard enough time in lines WITH DAS because of the uncertainty of how long the lines will take. I start freaking out when I don’t have a set time frame that gets adhered to and it’s really stressful.
I’m Epileptic and never used one. I just researched the rides to see what rides had and where theses effects happened. My disability is something you can’t see til it happens.
The last times I went to WDW I had to use a wheelchair. I still had to wait in line. Not a problem, the looks from other guests got annoying. I don’t look disabled. But what bothered me was this poor soul sitting in a motorized wheelchair chair. Burned up from the sun, no hat to block the sun. The people with her never talked to her didn’t wipe her face from either drool or sweat. I have never been so angry at people in my life!!! It seemed as if they were using her just to cut the lines. You could tell this disabled person had no idea where they were. I’m not being mean, this was years ago and it still pisses me off.

It said ADHD and Autism. Obviously, you do not know what it’s like to visit a theme park with a child who has Autism.
That’s terrible for your friend, but their experience doesn’t make a child with autism and adhd any less deserving of accommodations.
