Disney management’s lame explanation, “Buzz Lightyear, the toy, is not the same as the person who inspired the toy…” sounds like nothing more than an excuse to produce a film they knew would be less engaging for fans than it could have been. So what if they are supposed to be physically separate individuals. That pretty much goes without saying that a man is not a toy. Even so, Tim Allen would have been acceptable as the voice and characterized ‘human’ upon which the tribute toy is based. At least in theory the Woody toy voice might have been sampled from the human that played the live TV show voice actor. Why not Buzz too?

Please Disney management, stop inventing lame excuses to intentionally do things that customers don’t want. Please discuss on profitable, high quality products and services that customers love. Park attendance may be up due to pent up demand but loosing money on questionable media products is taking a toll on the love we have for Disney and it’s negatively affecting the stock price and profitability which will circle back and hurt Disney’s ability to invest in producing more good things in the future.

That’s supposed to say, “please focus on…”

I think the Disney Company is far from Walt Disney dreams, I don’t like all the changes they are doing

Different character, different voice. Manufactured controversy. Hanks’ comment taken wildly out of context.

I guess that is why it flopped. No one wanted to see knockoff Buzz and be lectured about diversity.

Disney has no problem hiding Di*ks in every image they can but keeping a conservative in a role he made out of this world popular is beyond unacceptable to them. Money rules the world and wholeness is king. I’m happy it did as poorly as it did

Good for Tom Hanks! I agree and also agree the changes are not for the better. Why do you insist on fixing something that’s not broken?!
