I agree. Though, I actually truly enjoy the sequels! 😆 I know they’re pretty cringe and make no sense at most times, but I still just feel happy watching them because I become a little kid watching cool lightsabers and blasters and Jedi heh.
I wouldn’t mind new sequels that make more sense and are made by George Lucas (don’t see why Disney can’t just make that happen, we need George for a last trilogy!) but until then I’m actually quite happy with the movies. And I think The Last Jedi is actually my favorite despite it being the most hated one.
Oh and the most important part that make me love them: the music! The music is awesome! I do wish they incorporated it more in certain scenes, I feel like they kind of missed a few moments especially between Kylo and Luke on Crait. But John Williams makes beautiful music and as a musician myself, I love everything his work touches.

Of course there’s someone behind the creation of that plot so there’s certainly someone to blame. The kenobi series was decent because it had different writers behind it who weren’t after pleasing a certain group of people but were actually passionate about Star Wars and it definitely shows.

Unless this new trilogy retcons the Sequels out of existence and makes Timothy Zahn’s books official lore again over Lucas’s plans on making Luke a broken man.
Sadly Lucas wanted this just because he wanted Luke to reflect himself over what the narrative of the Original trilogy setup. Sadly this isn’t what the fans want, and placing one creators desire to have the story reflect his life isn’t in the best interests of the franchise… and also lead to Kathleen Kennedy feeling she could hijack Lucas’s plans to have her own self-insert become the hero. Dave Filoni just wants everything to service his characters, namely Ahsoka and the Rebels crew. Luke to him shouldn’t ever get a happy ending either, his own words btw.
Of everyone involved, Dave Filoni, George Lucas, Kathleen Kennedy or Timothy Zahn, it is by far Timothy Zahn who is in most alignment of what fans of the Original trilogy want for Luke. Zahn fully believes Luke should be the hero who is like his father but overcome those same character flaws and does what his father couldn’t… being a successful father, husband and Jedi.
This is what the fans need and if the fans are content, the franchise can heal and overcome the great divisions caused by the Sequels.
Got a citation for that Dave Filoni quote? He’s said a handful of positive things about the Sequels and diversity and whatnot, but I imagine some of that is just CYA. After Mando S2, he should know very well what the fans want and know better than not delivering
It takes real talent to take a money printing franchise like Star Wars and turn it into what was great story telling mixed with mind blowing special effects and end up with crap filled with unlikable characters, infused with unpopular present day politics. KATHLEEN KENNEDY should have been given her walking papers long ago. The only good Star Wars to come out in 10 years KK had nothing to do with, except Rogue One. She has purposely degraded all of the OT characters. Mark Hamill was treated worst of all. As an old fart who saw A NEW HOPE in a theatre back in ’77, I think so many times a parallel Universe where the Sequel Trilogy deals with the Yuuzhan Vong Invasion. Now these movies would be epic. But let’s say for the sake of the conversation, we denounce Yuuzhan Vong. The thought of having Thrawn as the main villain is not bad at all. If only had they used it initially back in 2015. But as many of you wrote successfully in here, when you have K. Kennedy running the show, promoting a SJW agenda, you are not in a position to expect proper results.
