Noose, not excited whatsoever. I would be excited if they made Tiana a brand new attraction from scratch, not a re-theme. There is nothing problematic on the ride, and Br’er Rabbit actually comes from African American folklore. That deserves to be preserved. Tiana deserves a ride, but not at the expense of Splash Mountain.

    1. DisneyFan

      **Nope, not excited whatsoever.

    2. Victor Nazarian

One of the most strange issues about Song of the South is that people mistakenly object to the slavery in the film when it actually takes place after emancipation and every black person in that film is a free individual. That said, Princess and the Frog is a fantastic movie and there’s not a single bad song on the whole soundtrack. If they do it right, Splash Mountain will be reborn as a better ride. If only they would put Tianna in the transformation green dress dress. It’s among the most beautiful of all princess dresses in all of Disney.

    3. Normandy

Shut it. The rides root story is universally seen as offensive and racist. You’re clearly white so shush. The new story will actually respect black culture, which is more than deserved.

Worst idea Disney has ever had.ok what they did with Great Movie ride. Made cheaply and no flow. PATF should get their own ride and not mess with a classic ride that has over an hour wait every day. #savesplashmountain

    1. Normandy

People who have seen it are not complaining about the slavery. They’re complaining about the racism in it, the offense to blacks. And the overall disrespect of how the story is handled.

    2. Normandy

      You’re ignorant, Karen
It’s never an hour wait anymore
Disney revamps most of their rides at some point
Out with the racist rooted story
And in with the respectable story!

  3. Frank

This would be a grave mistake..

Done with Disney too WOKE for me

    1. Normandy

Woke means aware, progressive, empathetic to others
No one cares what an old straight white fart in the south like you thinks, Karen
You can’t really afford Disney anyway

It hurts that my favorite ride in the park is being destroyed. After the retheme, I don’t think I’ll ever want to ride it (or visit the US parks) again because it’s not the plunge and splashing that gets me, but the catchy music and down-to-earth critters that have filled me with joy as a child and as an adult, and I can’t imagine visiting the park without hearing that ZipADeeDooDah finale. I’m at least glad that Tokyo is keeping their version.

  6. Walt

“While Reaction to the retheme has been mixed, it’s good to reserve judgment until Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort in 2024.”
Yes there are two people that support it and tens of thousands that oppose it. Not to mention it is a tribute to BLACK fables performed by BLACK actors (deliberately to give them major roles by Walt) and supported by Uncle Remus museum staff. Done with Disney – they slap every traditional value they were founded on in the face as well as the many of the people which are their market.

    1. Steve

It never ceases to amaze how the media openly uses weasel words to avoid telling the truth and the majority don’t notice. The response to the invasion of Poland was also mixed.

    2. Normandy

      It’s being improved, dumdum

  7. Diana

Not happy that they’ve replaced Splash Mountain. The ride and songs in Splash Mountain were my favorite. Disney should just have created another ride for Princess Tiana for those who thought Splash Mountain was offensive. I loved it.

    1. Steve

You make the mistake it is about building something new, when it is really about destroying something beloved. This is the same approach Disney took to Star Wars and Toy Story.

    2. Normandy

Because you’re white and ignorant lol
It’s not being redone for your kind

  8. Kenny

Can’t say I’ve found anything about Disney and anything it does that I like. Nothing! Such a shame. My children and grandchildren and I have been going frequently for 25 years but we have to be finished.

    1. Normandy

      No one cares
You shouldn’t be using the welfare on Disneyland anyway

  9. Steve

A.S.S. should be recycled for this retheme.

  10. Mickeymouse3

I still don’t understand Disney’s view of “Song of the south”. I will not argue it depicts blacks as poor and uneducated, but that was a lot of people during that period. Uncle Remus brings a great message of togetherness and love for ALL.

    1. P.L. Hinson

Disney is going to do what it wants to do. Blaming an innocent ride of black folks, animals, and a movie themed in earlier times is wrong.

    2. Normandy

      You’re white
      You’re pov is not important

      1. Walt

I am NOT white and I think you ARE the RACIST. You are trying so hard to stir the pot….I’m betting you are not even a POC.

  11. NOLA Girl

As a New Orleanian, I’m just trying to figure out how they plan to incoorperate the drops. We literally do not have one single area in the entire bayou that could be explain the drops within the inside part of the ride much less a 5 story drop. Our levees that protect the cities from flooding aren’t even that high. Just looks like total pandering to the woke but uneducated, live in my feelings and not the real world crowd. Funny part is they don’t even realize how lazy of an effort on Disney’s part to actually give Tiana her rightful place in the park! I mean the entire movie for the ones who forgot was about Tiana wanting her own restaurant. Unless Disney plans to drop you off at the end in a restaurant instead of a damn gift shop then this is just stupid!! There I said it!! This is stupid and as a Tiana fan I’m offended 🤨

    1. Steve

They will have it located in the wild west, too. Disney needs to brush up on geography.

    2. Rickey Mouse

      Good points.

    3. Normandy

      Shut it
It’s a story of talking animals and magic spells
      The drops will be cool
And the ride will be much more respectful to black people

  12. Mason

Congratulations to Disney for virtue signaling and the ten Disney fans that endorse it.

    1. Normandy

You mean the ten trumpterds that don’t like it
      You guys don’t matter
      You’re in a racist cult

  13. Rickey Mouse

Changes are mostly nice. But to change because someone has become offended after the life of the ride for so many years is ridiculous. We are in the era of offensiveness. I’m offended that someone is offended by the happiness and acknowledgment of an ethnic background. But that won’t make a difference. So if [me] being offended doesn’t make a difference, then why should their being offended make a difference. Offensiveness is one sided. Both sides are never listened to anymore. Chapek should have not folded on wokeism and left Splash Mountain alone. If it’s so offensive to a certain ethnic group then why is it the most popular song on the ride is sung by a black man in the movie?

    1. Normandy

      All rides are eventually redone
This has been planned for years

  14. Disney lover

I am very displeased with changing Splash Mountain. My kids have grown up with zippadedodah since they were little and and now their kids are growing up with the excitement of Brer Rabbit and others. The line is long but it is worth the wait I see nothing racist in the ride and I love Uncle Remis story ( which he isn’t even mentioned in ride ). I believe it’s a terrible decision to change this ride Make a new ride for Tiana. It should be a relaxing ride to tell her story Her story isn’t as wild as Brer Rabbit I will not ride it once its changed. Not worth getting wet for.

    1. Normandy

      No one cares, Karen
      Millions will ride it

  15. Dawn

I won’t ride it once it changes. It’s that simple. I think the line for the ride will go way down. I am not a Princess and the Frog fan, not sure what it is about it, but I just don’t like the animated movie. The tale is an old one and even as a child I didn’t care for it.

  16. Lauren

Worst idea ever!!! Disney higher ups, please wake up and stop trying to be PC and woke!!!

  17. Debra

As a former cast member who worked in Frontier Land this is heartbreaking. Splash Mountain was one of the most popular rides in Frontier Land. Disney has become entirely too political and woke. Walt intended his parks and movies to be a distraction from all the crap going on in every day life, a place where people could briefly escape into a fantasy world. So sad to see what Disney has become.

    1. Normandy

      Oh Shutup
The woke are why you can vote
      Show some respect

      1. Waltettea

Are you for real? You sound like a 9 year old spoilt brat!

  18. Wayne Foster

This another woke moment for Disney. Walt would build something new instead of dismantling of a beloved ride. I’m glad I have all the photos with my family from this ride. The movie didn’t do well at all and just who and how many demanded the ride be changed? Keep the minority happy!

    1. Normandy

      There’s no more room, dumdum

  19. SandraA1

Not at all excited with the re theme……
Disney World has more than enough room to simply add a new ride and leave Splash Mountain alone!!
As for Disneyland….management always seems to find room for any new additions without re-theming or destroying rides that people are still enjoying….so they could build a new ride there as well!
Both parks need more enclosed water rides.
It appears that Disney Management has allowed the uneducated and uninformed to take control and make decisions.
It is long past time that the Disney Stockholders started speaking up and demanding a new leader at the helm! Quality has gone down in the U.S.A. parks while prices have gone up!
Walt Disney must be tuning over in his grave…….

  20. Ben Collins

I won’t mind if zip a dee du da was on big thunder mountain, it won’t bother Disney fans. If Disney fans boycott that’s there problem. Can’t please everyone

    1. Normandy

      No one is boycotting Disney

  21. bert

If you’re not woke you must be asleep at the wheel…

    1. Ben Collins

I will let my statement stand by itself, I will never stand for anyone that believes in the contrary.

    2. Normandy

      Shut your mouth
Woke means aware, progressive and kind
      You trumpers are disgusting

  22. Normandy

    You’re stoopid

  23. Ben Collins

People that accuse anyone of brainwash on a Disney website, dose not give warm feelings of Disney magic.
