There is nothing wrong with using mobility aids if you need them. The problem at Disney is that too many people use mobility aids (wheelchairs and electric wheelchairs) who are just trying to game the system. These people have even admitted it on their social media channels.
As someone who uses a rollator/walker to help provide balance, stability, and a place to sit because I cannot stand for long periods of time, it was a joy going to Disneyland because of their disability friendly policies. Unfortunately too many people took advantage of the system. I know Disneyland cannot ask for proof of a person’s disability in order to provide them with assistance, but I wish they would, to cut back on all of the people who cheat the system and ruined the great system Disney had for those who legitimately need it.
Totally and full heartily agree with Disney Asking to SEE SOMETHING like a Doctors note or something else similar to showing that the person in question is in deed Disabled 😁👍🏼
Unfortunately I’m one of the Mobilty Scooter 🛺 people who is CONSTANTLY GETTING YELD AT, Snickered at, Looked at in disgust & also being told to my face that I’m FAT, LAZY & so on 😭😭😭 Ya wanna talk about hurting. Yup, I hear & see it all the time because of “MY OWN MOBILTY SCOOTER 🛺” I have a BONE DISEASE that’s KILLING MY BONES 🦴 but I’m NOT GOING TO JUSTIFY ANY of MY ILLNESS WITH ANYBODY!!!! You wanna condemn me & yell at me for having to use one of these. Go right ahead, because I’m not going to stop using what I have. I’ve been through the crutches, Walker & wheelchair 🦽 but I wanted to be Mobile & ALONE while using MY MOBILITY DEVICE. This World IS NOT GOING TO DICTATE TO ME OR ANYBODY ELSE I SEE GETTING RIPPED ON because “YOU HAVE THE ISSUE.” I’d give ANYTHING to be able to run, dance, walk & even STAND FOR ANY period of time, but this disease won’t let me. So SHUT UP & MOVE ON. Come talk to me when You have something worth listening to. I’m soooooooo tired of ALL OF THIS GARBAGE 😡😡😡😡 Get a life and leave us Handicappable people alone. Sure, IF I’ve done something to have injured you while being in my scooter, please by all means let me know, but if I’m minding my own business and fallowing the rules JUST LIKE A PERSON DRIVING A CAR. Leave me be. We come in All shapes & colors. DON’T ASSUME ANYTHING, whenever you see someone like me using MY OWN MOBILTY SCOOTER 🛺🛺🛺 My Family Doctor & my insurance got me MY MOBILTY SCOOTER JUST FOR ME because I NEEDED IT ALRIGHT? Sheesh. Enough is enough people. Try being in my shoes for 1 DAY, THEN WE’LL TALK.
Yell at the government. The ADA is one of the worst trash pieces of legislation in American history and makes it impossible for businesses to restrict accommodations like scooters to those who really need them. The result is widespread abuse and the justified disdain from the public.
Too many emojis used and WAY too many randomly capitalized words in a post just make you look like a deranged lunatic on a crazy rant shouting at the clouds. I stopped reading after the first sentence.
I am one of the ones who have to use a scooter any time I go to Disney. I have an autoimmune disease that attacks my blood vessels and can be exacerbated by prolonged standing/walking. A disease that may eventually kill me if I don’t give it the reverence it is due. Made the mistake recently of thinking I could go on a vacation without needing any mobility assistance and spent 3 days in bed because I was in so much pain that I couldn’t walk. When I’ve gone to Disneyland in the past, I was exceedingly grateful for their wheelchair services. I wouldn’t have been able to experience the parks without it, but received no shortage of dirty looks and sneers because I could get up out of my wheelchair and walk onto a ride – or even at times stand. The point is – you don’t know what someone else is going through. Don’t jump to conclusions. Be grateful you have a body that is healthy.
As someone who wears glasses because I’m too heavy for a scooter , I’m shocked by this behavior. I remember when people on scooters were burned for fuel ( justified by the lack of productivity of people like myself )

Don't you see
“The blind community gonna be so mad when they see this.”
If this wasn’t intended as a joke, it should have been.
