Why continue to pay for their proselytizing?
“Lightyear” needed to get to 600 to 800 million box office just to BREAK EVEN! For those of you who are ignorant of how this works out I will attempt to enlighten you: Production costs for this film were 200 Million, (BTW-Gru Minions only costs 85 million to make-I guess WOKEness is expensive to film as well ?!?) Promotional costs were also in the 200 million dollar range. Thats 400 million total cost that has to be overcome. Now the box office does not go 100% to the film makers. Usually the split goes closer to 40% to 50% to the films producers. Do the math and you see that my above numbers would BARELY turn a profit for the mouse…..Lightyear will probably not get to 300 million world wide (So sorry Mr. Evans…who is “dying” now??)
“Lightyear” is a film about a lesbian relationship and “Buzz” actually becomes the BAD GUY because if he is successful in his endeavors then that relationship would never had happened. Not to mention the infamous lesbian kiss. How is this at all the kind of “entertainment” you think parents want to take their kids to?
Then you release the gay “Baymax” and immediately subscribers to Disney+ start crashing off the books….MORE LOST $$$ !!!
And NOW Disney wants to follow this up with a film that IS EVEN MORE IN YOUR FACE about homosexuality??
Methinks that Disney needs to see the OBVIOUS TRUTH: There is NO MARKET for WOKE CONTENT!! Netflixx finally saw the light and recently began their own “woke purge” after watching their own market cap collapse….
Truly Gru proves what we have known all along: Produce good, non woke entertainment and people will come!
You are not at all “too big too fail” Disney! Iger left you in too much debt (like any good democrat does) to be able to continue to take all of these self inflicted losses. You can’t AFFORD any more ‘wokeness” Disney! Your shares HAVE ALREADY CRASHED since February ’21. From almost $190 a share to less than $97 a share as I type!…………..Proceed at your own peril……
They have nonbinary pronouns they/them. They literally had drag and crossdressing in the past movies and probably do again on this. Kids think it’s super funny while right wing adults have a meltdown over “woke” or whatever. My kids saw it because literally everyone loves minions and I can’t escape them.
Right wingers really need to let go of this culture war BS. It’s a kids film for Christ’s Sake.
