Why are people mentioning Peter Pan’s flight? But has nothing to do with this attraction. Not only are they a different Parks but they’re totally different types of rides geared to different age groups etc. I love both rides of course growing up with Peter Pan but I have no reason to believe that they would tear down Tower of terror I think they might just be updating it which sometimes sucks but at the same time sometimes it does make it better but you never know until they’re done with it. I really do hope that they’re not changing the attraction and then they may just be updating the sign a little bit. I’m crossing my fingers that may just be it!
I wish management was as quick to get their stock prices back up!! Maybe the board and management should close Disney for 2 years and rebuild it WOKE ?!!!
Because Splash Mountain is being destroyed for being about a movie that extremists on Twitter believe is racist, despite never watching it. The same people have been going after Peter Pan’s Flight after they got that win. Mark my words, it will be gone or seriously editorialized (like Pirates) within 3 years.
Tower of Terror is likely to be turned into superhero garbage. Both RNR and TOT have been rethemed to marvel garbage in other parks. It’s only a matter of time and Disney ensuring they don’t get sued by Universal.
The way this sign was completely trashed overnight is a symbol of how modern Disney operates.
I think this is ridiculous first of all I rode that ride when I first ever attended Disney world I loved it I don’t understand why they are making these drastic changes they don’t realize Walt Disney would turn over in his grave right now at New management changing the place he so created out of his imagination and at the thought the new management driving such loyal customers away they need to leave it alone
Get used to it Shannon. Paycheck’s contract was extended with a raise included. Also as many times I have seen the phrase “turning over in his grave”, am thinking Disney may create a new ride with this feature🤔!
I am heartbroken with all of these changes. There’s still plenty of expansion land to put new rides in, I don’t see why the need to try & fix what isn’t broken. There’s no innovation anymore… just make a new attraction or ride out of a movie – right… It used to be the other way around, and then it didn’t “go out of style” like it does now. Disney was always a place for dreamers, creators & innovators, now it’s just “What’s going to make the most money? Let’s go with that, who cares how long it lasts, we’ll just go to the next thing when it stops making the money.”
It’s just the sign(although it’s a travesty of justice even doing that though!!) not the ride itself, although I can see why you would have thought that, as I did at first while reading the post. It’s one of our family’s fave rides, and I’m sure that it will never be replaced(maybe a refurbish of kind)as there would be outrage from Disney and TOT fans.
It is shameful what Chapek and cohorts are doing to Disney. There is no magic in the parks and all the things that us old timers loved are slowly going away to be replaced with fads and movies that will it stand the test of time. Give me back my old Disney.
Exactly! Marvel is a fad and makes me feel like I’m at universal which no offense to universal, I don’t want that at Disney!
And, as you said, the magic is gone. They have totally forgotten Walt’s vision and basis for the parks!
And, so done with the Woke culture and the push of strange ideas on children. It’s almost borderline creepy. It’s supposed to be a family focused brand. Not so much anymore.
Walt Disney always envisioned Disneyland and Disney World would never be completed. Meaning it was always thought that attractions would come and go.
I also think we should demand more from our leaders than from a for profit company. Is it really that tragic that a ride is being dismantled? Companies need to continually innovate and reinvent to stay relevant.
I get there’s got to be change I just think that they could have done something better with that sign than just destroy it okay relocate it or something. That ride always has a long wait time which indicates it’s still a wanted ride don’t get rid of it it would be a huge mistake don’t read them it either refresh it sure make it new again absolutely but getting rid of it would be a big mistake
Nothing Disney does anymore surprises me. Maybe it offend someone bc we don’t want to offend anyone bc if we don’t we have to get rid of it. Wether it be a ride or a sign or a
Statue. 🤫
Ever since Bob Chapek took over we’ve have seen drastic change like he said he was going to do, unfortunately he’s taken a hard left and changing it for the worst. Prices are out of control for a company that is worth $173,410,000,000 billion dollar company he has our priced lower and middle class families. He’s has done everything that goes against what Walt Disney built this company to be.
My opinion… the days of the Tower of Terror at WDW are numbered. Themed lands have been the recent goal, and avengers campus just launched in Paris. There, the RnR Coaster track is an Iron Man theme… we know the Aerosmith licensing has been a discussion… my prediction is a ToT retune me and a RnR retheme… all to make way for a florida Avengers Campus. Could even see the Beauty Show go away, the cars show… the whole area gutted and rethemed. The removal of the sign… it’s the first step of the magic act that makes ToT vanish into the memories of yesterday! Get ready!
The shareholders lost half their investment since this failure of a CEO took over. The entire board needs removed and sued. They are not acting in the interests of shareholders.
Sound vaguely familiar to anyone? Tower of Terror had always been my favorite at CalAdv. I’m still not over it. I’m all for Marvel, love it, but if Disney wants to add it, just build more! If Vegas can figure out how to squish 20 houses on a quarter acre, certainly you can find space for more rides.
On July 23, 2016, at San Diego Comic-Con, Disney announced that the California version would be replaced by an attraction based on Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy film series, titled Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout!, which opened in May 2017 and uses the same structure and ride system.[2][44] This is the first American Disney attraction to be based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe (Marvel Entertainment having been wholly acquired by Disney in 2009).[45]
Tower of Terror’s final day of operation at Disney California Adventure was January 2, 2017; the ride then closed January 3.[3][4] In preparation for the closure, Disney began a “farewell” promotion of the ride on September 9, 2016, which featured a “Late Check Out” option to experience the drop portion of the ride in total darkness. The same audio would play, but the show scenes on the fifth and fourth floors would be completely dark. On the night of September 19 and early morning of September 20, the “Hollywood Tower Hotel” sign was removed to prepare for the new attraction.
Building more means more upkeep… Bob isn’t hiring enough techs to keep the current rides running, there’s no way he will pay for more. Besides, why bother? Long lines will just encourage them to buy line cuts!
Disney should sue Universal over Despicable Me because Bob was clearly the basis for Gru, just without any redemption arc.
I miss it when rides were more of a mix between thrill and relaxing. If we wanted scream rides we would go to Thrillville (now defunct) or Six Flags. Why the sudden rush to make Disney be a ‘crappier’ version of Six Flags instead of it’s own image?
The same thing with Knotts Berry Farm once a VERY peaceful spot until the roller coasters came in. Pre Coaster era they didn’t even charge entry fees! You could go in at any direction and just wander around and actually had real shops and a real post office for the zip code of Orange County.
All the things in Knotts had real practical use unlike Disney which was always ‘cartoony’ and phony though both had their own strengths and weaknesses.
We haven’t had ‘capitalism’ since Woodward Wilson. During WW2 monopolies were setup to ‘streamline’ things due to shipping shortages and when the war ended the enactment stayed which ended the ‘pretend’ capitalism game. In the 80s companies decided to sell out to China slowly including anti virus ones (not all) but most.
Before WW2 there were DOZENS and dozens of small companies many times in that region only!
What most people have experienced is more and more globalism most which have kissed the butt of China meaning whatever China says these companies HAVE to do or they get their body parts donated for the cause of science’. Yes they do that!
I could go on and on about the things they do to businesses that decide to side with China but this isn’t the blog for that and it will go way above your heads.
Right after that China suddenly went from making cheap crap to guided missiles and bombs that outrival the western world with stolen technology for political power. Arkancide all the way and that’s only what was leaked.
Disney has allowed an extremely small minority to run the company. They need to stay out of woke politics and stick the entertainment business. This minority has a big agenda and won’t be happy until they take over everything. I wish the vast majority of the cast would stand up and speak up for what is right!

Saw this movie before
Cool, let me try…
Disney better not touch Peter Pan’s Flight!
Mr Wolf
Lol! I needed this after all the ridiculousness that has been Disney over the past year.
That said, I’m also kinda scared for Peter Pan now.
Lorenda

Don’t give them ideas, they may change haunted mansion then.

There has already been chatter among the usual suspects about gutting parts of Haunted Mansion because they are triggering to sissies.

Incoming retheme for Mission Space? The Walt Spinner 360!
Gern Blanston
Shannon – A real Disney fan would know that Walt was cremated, so there would be no rolling over in his grave!

Hahaha! Ya burnt! Time for some “retherming”.

Did you see the stock price? Billions lost. It is getting too expensive for people to do there without taking out a second mortgage.

I’m going to miss seeing the Tower while I’m on some of my routes. I’m a WDW bus driver, and it was a great landmark to look forward to seeing.

The sign is still there, I was just there last week and it passed it every day on the way to the parks.
Todd
Well, I am here now and it is gone.

It’s gone. Smashed to pieces. They literally demolished it the night they announced it was being removed.
