If a character actor is doing that good of a job that it brings customers to their over priced Park, then they should be thanked for lining the pickets of the CEO and board members pockets, not forced to quit or get fired. I agree re the company firing people. Absolutely that is a company issue not a guest posting issue. That said, if you go to Disney, what are the chances that you’ll see this EXACT Peter Pan? Be reasonable people! No-one can be expected to work 24/7. Any other rude behavior is also on the guests. Disney absolutely shouldn’t fire a worker for that. We personally did have an encounter with Snow White – or rather a non-encounter-who spent 10 minutes taking pictures with several grown men when our young daughter was clearly waiting for her own encounter. Instead of somehow nicely suggesting to the men that our child was also waiting, she posed in a variety of not exactly suggestive but more adult poses with each guy before waving to my daughter that she had to go see the Prince now. The poses were adult enough to where my 5 year old muttered “Prince? Well I’m going to tell him you were too busy flirting with other guys to see me….” This was over 20 years ago Disney so chances are she’s the witch now not Snow White anymore, if she even still works there so don’t go firing all the current Snow Whites lol.

This woman is directing her comments at the wrong audience. Disney is the one who she should be addressing. The bad behavior at Disney theme parks is because Disney is too lax on their rules and because more often than not guests are only removed from the parks for the day they got in trouble instead of permanently banned. Disney needs to issue a permanent ban for people who are blatantly breaking the rules, especially when it comes to fighting in the park.
As for not posting videos on social media of characters I would love to know why people don’t keep their social media channels within their friends groups only. I understand influencers and You Tuber’s that share, but everywhere else it seems like that should be private between you and your friends.

Would you like someone to post what you do at work on social media? There are so many rules at Disney that have been around since the beginning that the public doesn’t know about, today society would be amazed, like characters can’t touch guests unless they touch you first. Or you can’t drink water in front of the guests.
Anything that gets posted to the internet is at risk for going public. Just because you set filters to friends/family only doesn’t mean that one of them can’t take a pic or vid of yours, repost it somewhere else and then have it take off. The only way to prevent that is to not share anything at all.

No offense but if the person telling visitors to not post videos of the characters is a former employee then she needs to stay quiet. It is no longer her place to tell any visitor what to do. What’s going to happen next….are all visitors going to be told that they are not allowed to film their vacations or even take still pictures? I umpired at WWOS the 1st 12 years it was open. I was there all summer long (6 straight weeks) as well as off and on throughout the year. They treated us like 2nd class citizens, servants. In the brutal heat where we spent hours a day in our gear sweating profusely they had us change in black tents WITH A FAN to keep us cool! It was 95° or hotter on the fields with the heat index at 105° or hotter. It was well known by EVERYONE that they didn’t even want us there. But we were a necessity if they wanted to run events. DISNEY DOESN’T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT ANYONE, JUST HOW MANY BILLUONS IN PROFIT EVERY MONTH THEY CAN SCREW PEOPLE OUT OF. I’ve umpired every level of baseball, legitimately over 10 thousand games in 9 states. And I will NEVER do another game for those assh___s.

As a former cast member I’d say you would be better off owning the interaction trying to get out of it is a quick way to get terminated. I would meet rude guest exhaust all options and let them boil over. Usually the spouse would stop it before it got too far but I had no problem with a manager escorting them off property.
Disney defended themselves filming Mulan near Uighur imprisonment camps in China, and it’s a surprise that they wouldn’t treat employees with dignity and respect? Some families save their entire lives just to be able to take said family to a Disney park one time. By the time you take care of flights, lodging, transportation, food and spending money it’s crazy expensive. So if a family wants to record those moments for themselves and whoever else… Then I’d say they more than paid for it. I spent thousands on my family of 4 to fly from Maine to Florida and do a couple days at Disney. After spending all that money to do 4 rides in 12 hours…itl never happen again I can tell ya that. The experience was wonderful… And my family now has great memories to add to the books… But never again. I’m a pretty private person so my photos and videos are shared w selected people… But I would do whatever I want with them regardless. I’ve had jobs I didn’t like. Know what I did? Searched for a new one.

I’m in Disney and won’t be returning. The reservation system is ridiculous. There aren’t enough cast members to assist, and just try to get someone on the phone. They blame it on a new system, but aI think that they laid off half the we staff during the pandemic and haven’t bothered replacing them. I have seen horrible stories by cast members stating that they have to work a few jobs to make ends meet. This company is in a freefall. It’s not a cheap vacation, and now there’s no quality. Bob Chapek may succeed in accomplishing what no other company has been able to do. He may destroy Disney.
That’s what her initial claim was. But then, she made the mistake of saying the quiet part out loud. She was trying to blame the firings on people taking video, and did so by mentioning the “rude customers”, but then admitted that the reason they get fired is because, and I quote, “they get caught doing something against the rules on video”. She even tries to soften THAT admission by claiming it likely happened “while they were doing something amazing”. Bottom line is there are rules, and she is right. There are thousands of people who would love that job. Ones that might both follow said rules AND do something amazing.
This is just more blame shifting that seems to be the national sport lately. No one is responsible for their own actions anymore. It’s always the fault of some tertiary force.

This seems like more of a problem with Disney employment practices than bad guest behavior. Ask a guest not to take pix or videos during a visit? May as well ask them to stay home. I have mixed reviews of her comments. I agree everyone visiting should follow the rules and be respectful to park members and other guests so everyone can have a pleasant experience, no matter how much money or trouble you have to go through to get to a Disney park. There are no exception, no one is special, and no one should be entitled to think they deserve a better experience in the expense of others.
Having said that, as a FORMER employee, I am perplexed as to why she is still speaking on Disney’s behalf and refer to the visitors as “her clients”. Her example for crew members getting fired don’t exactly correlate to guests bad behaviors, if anything it appears to insinuate the company has poor human resources management and creating bad morale. Asking the visitors not to take videos seem to be a passive and ineffective way to deal with the problem (if the said problem is indeed real). I am wondering if she is giving Disney a backhand slap?

I agree re the company firing people. Absolutely that is a company issue not a guest posting issue. That said, if you go to Disney, what are the chances that you’ll see this EXACT Peter Pan? Be reasonable people! No-one can be expected to work 24/7. Any other rude behavior is also on the guests. Disney absolutely shouldn’t fire a worker for that. We personally did have an encounter with Snow White – or rather a non-encounter-who spent 10 minutes taking pictures with several grown men when our young daughter was clearly waiting for her own encounter. Instead of somehow nicely suggesting to the men that our child was also waiting, she posed in a variety of not exactly suggestive but more adult poses with each guy before waving to my daughter that she had to go see the Prince now. The poses were adult enough to where my 5 year old muttered “Prince? Well I’m going to tell him you were too busy flirting with other guys to see me….” This was over 20 years ago Disney so chances are she’s the witch now not Snow White anymore, if she even still works there so don’t go firing all the current Snow Whites lol.

This woman is directing her comments at the wrong audience. Disney is the one who she should be addressing. The bad behavior at Disney theme parks is because Disney is too lax on their rules and because more often than not guests are only removed from the parks for the day they got in trouble instead of permanently banned. Disney needs to issue a permanent ban for people who are blatantly breaking the rules, especially when it comes to fighting in the park.
As for not posting videos on social media of characters I would love to know why people don’t keep their social media channels within their friends groups only. I understand influencers and You Tuber’s that share, but everywhere else it seems like that should be private between you and your friends.

What’s going to happen next….are all visitors going to be told that they are not allowed to film their vacations or even take still pictures? I umpired at WWOS the 1st 12 years it was open. I was there all summer long (6 straight weeks) as well as off and on throughout the year. They treated us like 2nd class citizens, servants. In the brutal heat where we spent hours a day in our gear sweating profusely they had us change in black tents WITH A FAN to keep us cool! As a former cast member I’d say you would be better off owning the interaction trying to get out of it is a quick way to get terminated. I would meet rude guest exhaust all options and let them boil over. Usually the spouse would stop it before it got too far but I had no problem with a manager escorting them off property.

Disney defended themselves filming Mulan near Uighur imprisonment camps in China, and it’s a surprise that they wouldn’t treat employees with dignity and respect? Some families save their entire lives just to be able to take said family to a Disney park one time. By the time you take care of flights, lodging, transportation, food and spending money it’s crazy expensive. So if a family wants to record those moments for themselves and whoever else… Then I’d say they more than paid for it. I spent thousands on my family of 4 to fly from Maine to Florida and do a couple days at Disney. After spending all that money to do 4 rides in 12 hours…itl never happen again I can tell ya that. The experience was wonderful… And my family now has great memories to add to the books… But never again. I’m a pretty private person so my photos and videos are shared w selected people… But I would do whatever I want with them regardless. I’ve had jobs I didn’t like. Know what I did? I have seen horrible stories by cast members stating that they have to work a few jobs to make ends meet. This company is in a freefall. It’s not a cheap vacation, and now there’s no quality. That’s what her initial claim was. But then, she made the mistake of saying the quiet part out loud. She was trying to blame the firings on people taking video, and did so by mentioning the “rude customers”, but then admitted that the reason they get fired is because, and I quote, “they get caught doing something against the rules on video”. She even tries to soften THAT admission by claiming it likely happened “while they were doing something amazing”. Bottom line is there are rules, and she is right. There are thousands of people who would love that job. Ones that might both follow said rules AND do something amazing.

I have mixed reviews of her comments. I agree everyone visiting should follow the rules and be respectful to park members and other guests so everyone can have a pleasant experience, no matter how much money or trouble you have to go through to get to a Disney park. There are no exception, no one is special, and no one should be entitled to think they deserve a better experience in the expense of others.
Having said that, as a FORMER employee, I am perplexed as to why she is still speaking on Disney’s behalf and refer to the visitors as “her clients”. Her example for crew members getting fired don’t exactly correlate to guests bad behaviors, if anything it appears to insinuate the company has poor human resources management and creating bad morale. Asking the visitors not to take videos seem to be a passive and ineffective way to deal with the problem (if the said problem is indeed real). I am wondering if she is giving Disney a backhand slap?

Sounds like a YOU problem, not everyone else’s. Considering I pay a small fortune to go to your park for 2 days (seriously, last time it was nearly $10K)and your parent company’s recent…..shall we say….controversial political stances considering their clientele (mostly children), perhaps you should just be happy anyone comes at all and not be foisting a bunch of arbitrary rules on us. The people who think 10k isn’t a lot of money don’t go to theme parks, they go to Barbados for a month. So maybe follow the rules of your employer, and then you don’t have to worry about getting caught on video.

Ever since pandemic disney cast has been awful. Been there many times (don’t know how I kept comi g back after one bad experience after another) and they are rude, demeaning and not at all giving people that disney magic we were used to in the past. Maybe instead of saying people are being rude maybe realize it starts with how you guys have been treating you guests – CUSTOMERS lately. And dont post videos of Cinderella and Mickey mouse online?
