In an appeal to younger “teenagers “ Disney has added much Faster and intense rides. Trying to keep up with Six flags Great adventure. And now charge a $$$ premium for lighting lane.
like Space Mountain was never faster and intense. I rode SM back in 91 and it was pretty intense riding a fast car thru the dark with only blurbs of light going by you, the occasional support beam just beyond an arms length from you…..sorry but faster and intense isn’t anything new.
Obviously you’ve never even been on most of the rides mentioned, because with the exception of Flight of Passage, all of those rides are rather slow moving with no drops.
Most of those instances sound like people who rode the rides who should have known better. Unless you have a condition unknown to you, then you probably shouldn’t be riding something that will cause you to have a cardiac event or to have a seizure, but then again some people just say screw and do it anyway….I get it live life to the edge. But I’d be curious how many of these people had these things happen to them while on a ride and then turned around to sue Disney to get a quick payday, even though their condition was known and they knew better.
I had a cardiac event at Disney world. No pre existing conditions, and I hadn’t gotten on my first ride.
These things just happen. As it turned out, after 10 days in the hospital, they could not find anything wrong with me. Flying to Orlando this weekend for a week at the Contemoprary.
I agree with Dave! It’s not the parks fault or the ride it’s the person who got on in the first place, unless they didn’t know they had a condition, they should have known better!
My husband and I have been going with our grandchildren for years and while I choose not to go on most rides my husband loves them all but I wouldn’t blame the park for his crazy!
Several of these “events” are due to pre- existing conditions, also over exertion and or dehydration! The parks are huge, Florida heat and humidity is something people forget about. Unfortunately lots of people aren’t accustomed to walking 10,000 steps per day- then add in all the other factors = recipe for problems. We just returned home from an 8 days stay and it was HOT, but we are from the south and deal with the same weather at home. We saw numerous people needing the services of Reedy Creek First Responders- they are wonderful! Please keep reminded people to hydrate and don’t push too hard- you should know your limits
perhaps they were “handicapped” and since disney has chosen to take away the “handicapped access” that I used to be able to use it until one twenty something “cinderella” in Magi Kingdom guest services told me…”If you are able to walk then you don’t get handicapped access anymore” yes that is true…..I am not obese nor am I visably handicapped but I cannot walk for more than like 400 yards nor stand for more than like 5 minutes because of stents in my legs and a heart condition. I use a scooter to get around so I can keep up with my kids and family…yet she said…”NO GOOD FOR YOU” I took it to CORPORATE and THEY AGREED WITH HER! This after a visit in September which I received an access pass. (the visit in question was in March) Been using handicapped access since 2000 and now they change their rules…..DONE WITH DISNEY
My “handicap” is hidden as I have “epilepsy”. If they have anything that’s shown on a screen “usually a flatscreen television” or “strobe lights” I can’t ride it. My best times at the Magic Kingdom were the early’80’s’.
Comments for Guest Has “Cardiac Event” on Disney Ride, Multiple Seizures Reported
How many zeroes?
I want to see the “Cardiac Event” stats after seeing the bill at Disney restaurants.

To add to that, the manager at the Contemporary, gave us a fee do over since I spent my vacation in the hospital. That is what I call premium service.
