After being run over for the umteenth time by a scooter , wheel chair , or stroller I can certainly understand this persons frustration. Even if not for the same reasons.
I say BS… if you’ve been “run over for the umteenth time by a scooter” then that’s most likely due to your cutting in front of a scooter and getting yourself run over since scooters don’t stop on a dime and you need to consider being more considerate of others while walking in the parks.
Ive always felt that if you had a handicapped party someone should have to wait in the que and when they get to the loading area everyone in their party could then get on the ride.
We recently went to Animal Kingdom and my 80 year old dad rented a scooter. We waited in the line with him for the Safari (the only ride he went on). Our whole party wanted in line together until we got to the handicap loading area and then our whole party got on the ride together. App the other guests in scooters did the same thing. We didn’t get to jump the line.
I also saw guests in scooters waiting in all the lines at Hollywood Studios and Epcot until they got to the handicapped boarding areas.
I understand the frustration for people that think the scooters are in the way but my response to that is be grateful you don’t need one. I’ve spent many years at Disney being able to walk anywhere but now it’s a different story. I would much rather be walking than riding. You miss out on so much when your confined to the scooter.
I have used an ECV for a number of years at Disney, I have bad hips and knees and can’t do all the walking. Do you really think I want to sit and look at peoples back ends all the time, the ECV is a necessity. I wait my turn in line like anyone else. If the lines for the buses are full, I wait to be on the next bus. Just be considerate, not everyone just “loves” riding in one of those and worrying whether it will run out of power somewhere inconvenient. It is a godsend for those who can’t walk that much.
I totally agree! I have a prosthetic leg and have ALWAYS had to use a wheelchair /ecv at the parks and trust me it’s not as “amazing”as it sounds! I would much rather not be that “lazy” person and walk like everyone else! This is why people should not comment when they don’t know the reasons behind peoples doings!
I have had to use the last few times I’ve been to The Big Three in Orlando and also Disney land and California Adventure, you get cut off all the time!! The only thing is they will give you a ticket with a time frame to come back, that is equivalent to the wait time in lines. Not an advantage butane the amount of people who cut you off is insane!! I’ve had surgery on a very bad foot the walking isn’t bad for me it’s the constant standing
