    As I’ve said before,

Please Disney management, stop inventing lame excuses to intentionally do things that customers don’t want. Please focus on profitable, high quality products and services that customers love. Park attendance may be up due to pent up demand but loosing money on questionable media products is taking a toll on the love we have for Disney and it’s negatively affecting the stock price and profitability which will circle back and hurt Disney’s ability to invest in producing more good things in the future.

    1. Can we not anymore

I can see Peter Dinklage’s point of view… however, I can also see his community’s point of view when they say that he doesn’t speak for all of them just because he gained more fame than the average person worth dwarfism, thanks to game of thrones. A lot of those who standing with Dinklage, were average size people, being offended on behalf of those who didn’t ask them to be.

There are actors who wanted those roles and he caused them to miss out because of wokeism they didn’t ask for. He didn’t even know how the characters were going to be written. Perhaps they were going to be made less like caricatures and more like the dwarves of lord of the rings with a snow white flare.

But that should have been up to more than one man to decide. The majority of the community of actors like Dinklage, wanted a chance to audition for those roles. It should have been more of a stand together or say your peace and stand aside thing.

That said… the Snow White trope is over done, PERIOD. end of story. There’s been cartoons, live actions, reimaginings, snow white with a twist, snow white from the evil queen’s point of view, from the point of view of the man sent to kill her, (none but the animated ones used dwarves btw)

ENOUGH already. We get it. Move on. How about live action Encanto? Or Princess and the Frog? Heck I’ll take a live action Frozen at this point.

No more Cinderella or Snow White for the love of all that’s holy

      1. EricJ

IOW, one ego-fueled crank is not a, quote, “backlash”.

And as for “Enough with the live-actions!”, how long did it take us during the Aladdin/Lion ones to figure out this is NOT about the audience?
It’s about marketing, as it was with the 00’s vidquels: Only the vidquels did the 30’s/40’s copyright-extensions first, and then the obscure 60’s/70’s titles (or, in the remakes’ case, the late 90’s/early 00’s titles) that needed to have their IP’s jumpstarted.

That’s why live-action Pinocchio and Snow White HAVE to look like their animated originals, or lose the image marketing.

    2. Normandy

You’re clearly coming from the Trumper don’t say gay nonsense, thinking Disney is too woke and ignorantly assuming it is hurting Disney’s profitability.
      It isn’t.
Disney could care less what you bigots want.
They are the most successful film and tv company in the world.

      1. Steve

        We get it, Bob.

      2. Walt

Over 60% stock decline in one year indicates most would prefer Disney abandon their campaign of forced social propaganda.

      3. walt

Yes yes yes and the great succcess of lightyear and the stock price is absolute evidence of their success. Isn’t it intersting that those who call anyone who does not adhere to their own world view is a bigot? but they never are? If it wasn’t for the bigots there would be no children for them to diddle.

      4. Heather

Your true colors show when you start nasty language to make your point! Just like a true leftist!

      5. BG

I won’t give Disney another dime of my money. I don’t support degeneracy or child abuse, and Disney is pushing both.

  2. Christene

I’m confused. So a person of color must voice Tiana, but Snow White isn’t white?

    1. Steve

The left must erase whites in media. It is the first step to erasing them in reality.

      1. Marcus

There is no such thing as replacement theory. Drop the drama. The left vs. right business is ridiculous.

        1. Steve

Funny the that on these same comments, a leftist is applauding that replacement is happening.

What makes you think it isn’t happening? Have you looked at any actual statistics? Your belief wouldn’t survive doing so.

        2. BG

It is definitely happening. Hide your head in the sand if you like, but most people see it.

    2. Normandy

Tiana is a black woman character whose story is uniquely black – why wouldn’t a black actress voice her?
Snow White’s race is unimportant to her story.
Take off the bigoted colored glasses Trumper!

      1. Chris Kinney

Uhhhhhh, her name comes from the description in the story of her snow-white skin.

      2. Steve

Snow White is literally a German folk tale. How is Tiana’s story more black than that is white?

      3. Walt

ummmmm… Snow white is called snow white becuase of her pale skin. Wow can you really be that unaware? Tiana is a warmed over Pricess and the Frog story – not original at all. And as long as we are pointing out truth Song of the South – that terrible racist trope – was based on BLACK AFRICAN fables, was designed to feature BLACK actors becuase Hollywood relegated them to small roles or none at all and IS supported by Uncle Remus staff at the museum with the same name. The ignorance of the woke is incredible

      4. Philly

Yes, YOU should take off your bigoted glasses!

      5. Guest

Because race doesn’t matter when it comes to voice acting. If your voice is deemed right for the character, them it shouldn’t matter what you look like. There’s no specific way people of a certain race should sound in certain cases, especially if said character doesn’t have a specific accent.

    3. Exactly. I believe the actual description of Snow White is that she has skin “as white as snow”.

  3. kurt

Not a fan of making live action movies out of classic cartoon movies.
Although I did see Jungle Book a few years back and I remember it being pretty good, so there you go. Given a choice, I would prefer new original content.

    1. Normandy

Your choice isn’t a factor when the most successful film and tv studio creates films.

  4. Vera

After reading the title and content of this article, I’m quite confused. Will they honor the traditional storyline and utilize talented members of the dwarfism community? Or, as is the norm of late, cave to the remotely possible “offended”? I am a huge Disney fan, but becoming more saddened and disappointed on the regular by the choices they are making.

    1. Normandy

      Sigh
You straight white bigots are tiresome
You are a shrinking minority now
      Disney is inclusive
      Always has been
      See Saludos Amigos
      Or the three Caballeros!
It’s best for their bottom dollar.
      They lead.

      1. Steve

You can’t make that kind of argument and then also act like people upset they are being replaced in their own countries are irrational.

      2. Dj

Your ignorance must be bliss Normandy, to be calling out “straight white bigots” Your opinion is BS when facts are Disney is failing and trying to grasp what’s left from you whiny little turds.

        1. Kim Jaafil

Ok DJ finally someone comes around with a good comeback. I’m so tired of the oh wow is me racists. I’m dealing with one now. 👏👏👏 again to DJ.

      3. Kay

Tried to find something or merit or relevance in your comments but they appear to be typical angry; unhinged lefty/lib/Dem propaganda talking points. Maybe try thinking for yourself and include thoughtful content in your contributions here.

  5. Steve

    Go broke.

    1. Normandy

      Sorry, bigot
They’re the most successful film and tv studio in world history
      They make billions every year
      You are nothing
      A shrinking racist minority
      Get bent

      1. Steve

Their stock is half what it was a year ago and their blockbusters are getting trounced. Tiresome leftist drivel as always.

      2. Goofy

I sure love the way you put your 7th grade education to use Norm.

  6. Paul

I don’t remember an entire village of dwarves throwing a huge fit as part of the Munchkins in Wizard of Oz. Or was I born I the wrong decade?

    1. Steve

The problem here is Disney and the media is intentionally misrepresenting the situation.

Peter was jabbing at Disney’s woke-pushing with black Tinkerbell and the like by pointing out they had a bunch if dwarves in a subservient role. I don’t know if he was actually upset or feigning it, but if he was, it was clearly contextual.

It is easier for Disney to paint the criticism as “the dwarves are offensive” rather than addressing the nuance that they don’t really care about inclusively.

Most of the other dwarves are on the side of the Seven Dwarves remaining as they were, either because they don’t want their own ability to work in media to be canceled, or because they actually like the depiction.

      1. Normandy

        Disney is all about inclusivity
You’re ignorant of their film and tv product if you think otherwise

        1. They should do a live action Goofy movie…Normandy would be perfect for the role!

  7. Robert

Honestly, they should make the 7 Dwarves prequel that Lassenter cancelled. Mainly because if they want to do stuff with the legacy characters, create something new instead of remaking stuff. Despite all the crap the direct to video films (including the billion Pooh Cinematic Universe and Tinkerbell Cinematic Universe) have more creativity than a live action remake. Heck, look at Cinderella 3, Lion King 2, An Extremley Goofy Movie, and Aladdin King of Thieves. They’re all regarded as better than a lot of the other remakes put out. Also don’t watch Hunchback of Notre Dame II.

  8. Normandy

A lot of angry straight white trumpers on here.
    Listen closely
    You don’t matter to Disney
    You’re a tiny minority
Disney is one of the most successful brands in history
    They make billions every year

    1. Steve

They also lost half of their valuation since they started going woke.

      1. Marcus

Wrong. The woke charge has nothing to do with it. They lost value because of the COVID pandemic (which was real and not a hoax). Disney’s parks are filled with more people than pre-pandemic. So you’re wrong. BTW – being woke isn’t a bad thing.

        1. Steve

The valuation loss happened from mid 2021 onward… not 2020. Nothing to do with COVID, everything to do with deciding to be political, especially eoth most of it around when Bob picked a fight with Florida.

          Typical woke low IQ begging.

  9. Paul N

The story is Snow White and the Seven DWARVES. I can understand the criticism from those in the dwarfism community who object to it, truly. But Disney just has to make a decision about what they want to do at the outset. If you don’t want to offend those with the condition, that’s fine. Then just don’t do the story. But if you want to do the story, then accept the backlash, and do the story. You’re either going to offend people because you didn’t compromise, or you’re going to offend people in a different fashion because you compromised to keep everyone happy and produced garbage. Pick a lane.

  10. Marcus

I truly hope there are 7 dwarfs. That’s the name of the story. That’s what it’s about. Sorry, but that’s how it is.

    1. U. Cantspell

Pretty sure the name of the story is Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.
Sorry, champ…that’s just how it is.

  11. Roger Stevens

I do not plan on watching another Disney classic ruin. Snow White.

  12. P.L. Hinson

As a former castmember, and fan of Disney since I was 6 years old when I got my 1st Mickey Mouse for a birthday present, Disney is gonna keep changing the original movies we have come to love and pass down to our children, Disney is going to write itself OUT OF BUSINESS.

  13. Leland

    I don’t buy anyting Disney
Now it has become a place were gays and LBJQ rule and that is not want my children or grand children to see.

  14. Amie

I may be in the minority here but I enjoy more the “essence” of the original stories but with a twist. Tim Burton knows how to do this. He captured the essence of Ichabod and Alice. Maleficent was a wonderful take on Sleeping Beauty. Cinderella was a huge disappointment that didn’t know what direction to go. I haven’t seen the Jungle Book bc its 99% CGI and I just wasn’t interested in that. Aladdin disappointed as well for me and I never liked the original Beauty and the Beast (I know, I know). I just think Disney should quit with the live actions and move on to original stories. Raya and the Last Dragon was a great movie that gets little fanfare. And I’m not sure why.
With whomever said Disney is thriving, I’m not sure they keep up with business news. They are making a lot of money but compared to the past, they are losing money. Also, all “woke” talk aside, I have been going to Disney for our yearly vacation literally since I was born and now with my own family. This year, I seriously considered going elsewhere. The cost is so over the top and the quality is falling by the month. We started seeing things go downhill around 2017 at the resorts and parks. They do not take care of things like they once did, yet I’m paying double what I paid for the same room only a few years ago with less amenities and less attention to even basic utilities. Disney truly needs to address this or some other company will start making their park the favorite.

  15. Kathy

Peter Dinklage, I think you need to go back and look at the original movie. You said the dwarves live in a cave. Incorrect. They are miners and WORK in a cave. They live in a nice, but messy, cottage in the woods.

  16. Emma

Hell, Disney themselves already made a snow white movie with Kristen Stewart and Once upon a Time.

  17. Bruce

thank you for representing 7 percent of the population

  18. BG

Shouldn’t they change the name? I mean, she’s not Snow White….Snow Brown? Mocha Beige?

  19. Jarvis

    “reinforce stereotypes”

The moment I hear PC, woke, tripe like that, I always tune out.
