My mother and niece were evacuated about 5 years ago.. but my mom has knee replacement and was in her 70’s at the time. So they had to call in their own fire department to get her out. They had to shut the water off and put a harness on her and bring out a mobile bridge to lay over the water in order to walk her out to get to the walk way. She said it was painful and took about an hour. It ended up being on the news
OHSA will be greatly appreciative of this known article. People throwing umbrellas. How safe is that?? Don’t be surprised if fined, sure that’s a safety violation
My aunt and I were evacuated from Grizzly River Run opening day. We were at the top of the main drop when it just stopped. Cast members came up and started unloading guests from rafts below us and a few came up and said they would get to us soon and to please not move around too much. Next thing we know, Disney fire department is there with chains, platforms, giant wedge shaped things, the whole nine yards. We realized once we were off the raft that there was such a commotion over our single raft because about 1/4 of it was off the lift part of the hill and was basically in midair. They had to secure the raft so that we wouldn’t tip the rest of the way over the drop when we got out. It was an adventure to say the least. They gave us a handful of special fast passes that never expired and got us to the front of the fast pass line so we had instant boarding. We used those for years with how many they gave each of us. Often times cast members wouldn’t take them, they’d just look at it so we used them multiple times as well. It definitely was a great way to keep us coming back
