  1. My girlfriend and I were eating there once when I asked for jelly for my biscuit. The server brought out 5 cases of individual jelly packs and stacked them around our table. Hilarious! Ask for a straw sometime…I dare you!😁

    1. Bob

If it was a buffet, did you take all the jelly? They served it to you. Great quick pick up when fatigued at the park.

      1. Bob

        I meant wasn’t a buffet.

  2. AH

Good reason not to eat there. One cannot always get to WDW on the celebration date.

    1. It’s a joke hun

Right- please don’t go there. You obviously don’t understand humor and fun. You won’t fit in.
This place is known for this. This is why people book it.
Before making assumptions- please reread the article and notice how excited the family was to get exactly what they were hoping for.
      Breathe. It will be okay.

      1. Dave

Who are you to tell someone what they do or don’t understand? They stated their opinion….that’s it. “You obviously don’t understand humor”….yup…….you are what’s wrong with social media. Obviously.

        1. Ryan

Because “AH” doesn’t understand that this was a joke! He doesn’t seem to understand the concept of sarcasm and jokes, which this was. Yet you apparently don’t get the concept either since you are agreeing with him.

    2. Tracy

      Exactly!

    3. Sheila

I too failed to see the humor in being humiliated like that.

      1. Meme

Most rude comments have some truth to how the person really feels there’s a difference in being downright rude tacky and humor

  3. Leo

That guy should be FIRED. Disney is total garbage and getting worse by the day.

    1. Stop being offended

It’s part of the act. WCC is known for this. Need ketchup? They ask everyone (in the restaurant) to bring you the one off their table.
It’s satire. Funny. Light hearted, family fun.
      Lighten up.

      1. Mickey

        Not funny.

        1. Tincup

So don’t go and stop crying about it in random articles. It’s not like your opinion matters after all…

        2. David C

The family he did it to thought it was pretty damn funny! They understood the restaurant and how it works! It’s not about the food as much as it is about the interaction!!

        3. D

So stop crying about it on the internet and don’t go during future trips. East solution

      2. Ren Amamiya

They are having so much fun that I’m jealous, I didn’t know this place existed but now I want to go, where is it, please tell me

        1. Rick Williams

It is in the Wilderness Lodge. If you are using transportation, go to any destination and take the Wilderness Lodge bus, or for an added treat, go to Magic Kingdom and take the boat, resort launch.

      3. based

loool bad service is an act? disney could serve you schmucks cow dung on a platter with sprinkles on it and you would eat it right up.

      4. Bill

Asked for Kactup first thing one morning and got 100 bottles had to put them on all the tables

    2. Penny

I guess people go there to get insulted. Not my thing, so I wouldn’t go.

      1. Sheila

I too failed to see the humor in being humiliated like that.

    3. Ryan

It’s a joke!! Dang!! Guess you’ve never eaten there. They do this as part of the experience!!

  4. Amber

I used to work at the Sequoia Lodge (though this was over ten years ago) and my favorite thing they did was that if someone asked for ketchup that everyone in the restaurant that had a bottle of ketchup would bring it to that table. So they would have like ten bottles. And if someone else asked for it then it would be their turn to bring it. They are very eccentric there and also yell a lot. Not sure if they still do the wooden pony races around the restaurant.

  5. Kevin

This is absolutely disgusting on the CM. Jokes are fine. That was unacceptable. We all spend a great deal of money going to WDW to celebrate. We cannot always go on the exact date but plan our celebration there. Way to go.

    1. Kevin is Karen

Don’t be a Kevin- Kevin. This is what this place is known for. Everyone spends a great deal of money to be there so calm it down.
Did you miss the part where the family was happy to get the exact service they were hoping for? Or did you just start your “I’m offended for no reason” act immediately?

  6. Keil Fleischbein

That’s frankly disgusting. Imagine you work so hard that you don’t even take time off for your birthday, and instead settle for a week later. And then your act of selflessness is humiliated by a jerk like the server. Fire that bozo.

    1. offs

Seriously? This is exactly what this place is known for. This is why people book there.
How about you stop being offended on behalf of people who are not offended.

      1. Patches

I know about the ketchup, but never knew that would even consider doing this.

    2. Laura

Some people are so unhappy in their own little world that they can’t even fathom letting go and actually having a great time. I have never been here but I have been to Ed Debevic’s in Chicago and I’m sure it was way worse than at Disney. Let go and loosen up. You might even actually have a good time!!!

      1. Dave

Who are you to tell someone that they need to loosen up? So….your opinion matters….but theirs doesn’t?

        1. Wynder

Oh look! It’s Hall Monitor Dave.
He must be a blast at parties.
          SMFH.

    3. David C

The family actually went there for the humor! how do you think the server knew it wasn’t his actual birthday!! The place is famous for its slapstick style humor. We go there just to see this kind of interaction. disney announced they were going to “tone it down”. Probably to appease the whiners! The backlash was so “loud”. Disney walked that position back! I guess they didn’t want an empty restaurant. The food is good. But not worth it without the humor and fun!!

    4. Karina

Good way for me not to go there. People can’t always make it exactly in their bday you schmucks! I would’ve turned the whole table over and kicked his ass!

  7. Temperance

One of these days they’ll cross the WRONG guest and end up spending the rest of the day picking said teeth out of said ***…

I would not enjoy a place like that…I pay to eat, not be laughed at…Disney is going down hill fast!

    1. Bless your heart

Awww! Your adorable. This is what this place does. Please don’t go there. You’re not the kind of person they want there. They prefer people with a sense of humor. If you find one- try the restaurant. It’s a blast!

      1. C. C.

Having a sense of humor is hugely different than laughing at someone else being humiliated and/or treated with disrespect. You people are exactly what’s wrong with the world these days.

        1. David C

Actually, you people are exactly what is wrong with the world these days!!

    2. David C

“Disney is going downhill”!!! This slapstick is what made this one of the “must go to” restaurants at WDW. A couple years ago they stated they were going to “tone it down”. The backlash made them change their decision! Thank God!

    3. Ryan

Ah!! You don’t like jokes do you? You don’t understand taht this was a JOKE and that this is waht guests expect? Oh you dno’t because you can’t see passed the line. They do this there!! This is part of the xperience!! We went on our anniversary and had this experience of being joked at!! It’s the experience and what they do! It’s NOT bad! Get over yourself.

  8. Jill A Sackett

These are just more reasons I would NEVER go back to any Disney park
    Obnoxious woke entitled babies
My daughter hated Disney at age 6. She is very perceptive, saying, “Mommy, all it is is one big gift store trying to sell you junk after every ride.”
A 6 year old figured it out

    1. I call BS

Lol. Did you miss the part where they were super happy because they got exactly what they wanted? Oh- I bet your 6 year old figured it out before you did.
Get a life. Read all the words of the article. Stop lying about your child.

      1. Remy

Why do you have to respond to everyone as different names? Not everyone reads everything in detail. This this not a legal contract. Youre getting offended for no reason.

        1. Aren’t you a peach

Yes *Remy*, I enjoy making the names match the ignorance that the comment is directed at. The only thing to be offended by (which I just don’t have time to be offended- too busy correcting the brilliant people who lack common sense) is people who don’t read an article and just speak out of their ass. But thanks for noticing the name changes. Super swell of you 😜

    2. C. C.

People that enjoy humiliating others are not of the woke crowd. That’s the Trumpian method of operation.

      1. David C

Thank God they are not!!! We need some humor in life! Unlike many, who did not bother to read! People actually book this restaurant for exactly this kind of experience!

      2. Linda

Amazing how the woke conversation always comes back to blaming Trump for things.

      3. Linda

Why do you always have to blame Trump for everything?

  9. Lou

Damn. People are missing the point. It says the guests got what they were looking for. You go to this restaurant for the rudeness and to be made fun of. That’s part of that particular restaurant’s vibe. 🤦‍♀️ y’all need to pull that wedgie out of your bum.

    1. Berry

They got what they wanted. A video of Disney’s wrongdoings. Dip.

  10. Mike

What a steal from Ed debevics trademarked atmosphere.

    1. Laura

Ed Debevics was awesome to just forget everything for an hour or two. And these people are complaining about DW…..they wouldn’t last 15 minutes in Chicago.

    2. David C

Whispering Canyon and Prime Time Cafe have actually been doing this kid of humor for decades!! Not sure who stole from who. but it works! Except, apparently, for at least half the boneheads posting on here!

  11. GG

My son dropped his fork on the ground. The server brought a gigantic replacement fork out of the back that was at least four feet in length. Fun times & a great photo op! 🙂

  12. SCOTT Lee-ROSS

Its good service with a bad attitude. To those that think the server should be fired, in actuality, he deserves a raise. Just like any Disney dining, you may want to read the description of the restaurant: “over to this Old Western eatery for games and good eatin’ served with attitude”

    1. David C

Someone in this thread actually gets it!!!

  13. S1

This is horrible and shows the state of Disney “customer service” what a bunch of f*** c***!!

    1. umopapisdn

      You failed to understand.

      1. Laura

There is no point in even trying to explain…..they will never get it.

  14. Ava

What a bunch of babies in the comments. Never been yelled at in 50’s Primetime Café? One of my favorite memories was when my kid sister didn’t eat her green beans and the CM bought them back out to her at desert with some whipped cream and sprinkles on top. Made her take a bite too to get her desert 🤣 It’s all part of the act people

    1. EricJ

I had a morning breakfast at WC while staying at the Lodge, and am not a morning person until I get on the bus, so I was taking my breakfast solo and with low impact.

I heard the server ask the family at the next table, “Excuse me, folks, is this person bothering you? If he’s too loud, we can ask him to move to another table…”

      …You just can’t win. 😉

  15. Laura

OMG LOL sounds like a hilarious place.

That server is doing what they were hired for and paid to do at this particular restaurant- entertain guests with sassy attitude! Their interaction was spot on 😅🎉

  16. I asked for a bottle of ketchup ones and every single table walked over and gave me their bottle of ketchup. I must’ve had 50 bottles of ketchup on my table by the end first and last time I ate there

  17. Jack

This all sounds mind numbingly cringe. I guess it gives failed theater majors a place to work beyond Starbucks.

    1. Bxmamipr712

Exactly what I was thinking! Who would pay to sit through that? The stuff they do is so cringe and annoying. It’s not funny at all.

      1. Who likes fun

Yes- who would go to the happiest place on earth and then expect happiness? Crazy- right?? It is just like a bad comedy group- that’s kind of the point (which seems to have been missed).
Y’all need to loosen up a bit and enjoy life.

  18. Morris Fraser

    Turn about
We were eating at Whispering Canyon, and I needed to go to the bathroom. I asked for directions from a cast member, who pointed at the trees just outside the windows and to an emergency exit that led outside. I thanked her and started toward the door. Waving her hands frantically, she said, “Oh no. No!” Gotcha!

  19. J

Just like “Ducks” where they embarrass you but you’re not supposed to give it back to them.

  20. TjValion

Too bad ALL of the Disney parks and properties aren’t allowed to call out liars, cheaters, line cutters, abusive parents, rude people (listen up Brazilians)…etc….

  21. Bob

    Not a cult.

  22. Linda

Amazing how many people have no sense of humor anymore. Don’t go to the restaurant if you don’t like the concept. But, it’s not necessary to suggest firing the servers or closing the restaurant when other people obviously enjoy it.

  23. Bev Garrett

No sense of humor? Y’all are masochist! Who the —— pays all this money to be mistreated and disrespected? Get some therapy!!! STAT

    1. Oh Bev

Hey Bev- it’s called having fun. Do you remember fun? It’s something that makes you happy.
People go to WDW for fun. This is part of the experience.
No one is being disrespected or mistreated. The family knew exactly what they were getting into and (according to the article) loved it. The cast members know how to read the guests and know how far they can take their comedy act.
Don’t worry- everyone is okay. It’s just folks having a good time.

  24. Roger Underhill

If this happens to them they shout all kinds of excuses why they are being treated so rudely. I get the humor thing if that’s what you are looking for. If it wasn’t someone woke it might have a different meaning but the still sleeping look for this type of conflict. Maybe they just couldn’t make it on his birthday but he still could have asked.

  25. Michelobe

I get it was part of a comedic stunt, I just don’t get the reason people would want to pay an outrageous amount of money (considering a”Disney” Diner) and want to get treated poorly. I’ll pay that amount and get good service thanks. I know that just eating at these places and getting extra is NOT cheap. I’ve paid to have the cast come to our table and interact with my younger siblings, and what not. In any scenario paying that much I want a good experience with the cast, he can keep his damn birthday opinions out of his mouth, not everyone can go on the EXACT day. Just saying.

  26. Sheryl

Hey if Disney can celebrate it’s 50th for 18 months. He should be able to celebrate when ever he wants!

  27. Joan

    Disney is going downhill.

  28. Cody

Seems more like this place is designed for adults with a shaming fetish. Do they have somewhere a hot chick would spank me with a wooden paddle. After it’s supposed to be fun for the whole family.

  29. So if you have an OPINION and voice it, you basically get attacked?

  30. Ryan H.

Some people need to not take everything so seriously. This world has become colder and too drab since people became too sensitive.

Obviously this restaurant does exceedingly well, or it wouldn’t still exist. And it isn’t for everyone. If you don’t care for the atmosphere there, perhaps another restaurant is a better fit for you. That’s the joy of being in the United States, freedom to choose.

  31. Trump 2020

What I find hilarious is the soy boys and dayglow butch women who enjoy this treatment, are the first ones to be offended out in real life. I guess this is their anti-safespace and enjoy being humiliated in front of others.
