I REFUSE TO BELIEVE MY BLACK PEOPLE ARE BEHIND THIS NONSENSE!! IF MCU LOVE AND WANT TO CELEBRATE HIS LIFE AND LEGACY THIS WAY THEN LET IT BE! IF ANYONE KNOWS ABOUT THE BLACK PANTHER COMICS,THERE ARE MORE THAN ONE BLACK PANTHER!! THIS IS BEYOND RIDICULOUS! I’M HERE FOR WAKANDA FOREVER!
Many Batman’s , many Black Panthers , let there be Mythic Heroes let art inspire us to greater realities than the evil reflected in our mundane social biases
T’Challa will be back. I’m a long time Comicbook head. There will be more films, there will be more comics. T’Challa was alive before any film was conceived. He lives in our hearts and our minds. Love Chadwick as T’Challa. There will be another that will reprise this role. Let’s not be reactive, let’s honor our brother with this film and move to the Future. T’Challawill be played by another. Sooner rather than later.
Looks pretty coo&seems to be a perfect intro for the “new.” Not replacement… Everybody is so sensitive, these days, Cheese!!! I am very much so, interested in peeping game… SafeJourney, Yall✌🏽
I’m a black man and I’m a comic book geek, I support the boycott.. When Shuri Became the Black Panther she was a grown woman and she wasn’t even the Black Panthet for long… It looks like The MCU are pandering again.
If they are just movies why are they all littered with agendas and propagandas? These are stories beloved by many. If you have agendas, be creative and sneak them in your own stories. Don’t mess ruin what has already established a legacy.
Jack Kirby and Stan Lee the creators of the black panther, didn’t back in the 60’s create him to be a black superhero,he was a superhero who just happened to be black, nothing more or less. I’m amused by all the hype,in my 60 yrs of reading comics and SF,I have ran across many heroes of color,Zula from Conan,Gabe jones from Nick fury and al Harper from the silver surfer. BUT did they kill the character of Sherlock Holmes, just because Basil Rathbone died, of course not.
Fun fact; Shuri becomes Black Panther in the comics. Much says she will in the movies… and you know what? That makes sense and is Not exploiting anyones death but simply puts a puzzlepiece in order. Rip Chadwick but having Shuri as Black Panther now or eventually is canon either way.
Any real fan would settle for nothing less than recasting T’Challa! Kill off the only prominent black male hero…??? No! Anyone black knows full well the black trauma games played by Hollywood, and playing black women against black men.
So when Chadwick died. I remember seeing from black ppl not to recast. That’ll be disrespectful they need to retire the character. Now ima say it yall gotta get out the MCU with your real world stuff. You’re wanting this to take yall out the real world but as soon as something that needs to be done to progress the story for marvel there’s problems.
The superhero is Black Panther, not T’Challa, just like Steve Rogers/Chris Evans is no longer Captain America, which is pissing off a lot of fans who do not want to see Anthony Mackie take over the role. T’Challa was the king of a nation, a human being with special qualities. He was the closest I will ever have to an earthly king, and I appreciate the opportunity to have closure and grieve the loss of who he was as an individual and all he represented to me. I amgrieving whether it is on screen or not. Every time I hear my sons call another “Brotha” with Shuri’s accent, my eyes fill with tears because I know I will not see MY T’Challa, Chadwick Boseman’s characterization everagain. The pain and trauma exist, and now I can grieve openly with my community. There are always family members complaining at every funeral.Just stay home.
T’Challa was the first black superhero for Marvel and you want to kill off a piece of black history? How white of you. For the record Chadwick would support recasting and his family supports recasting
I will still go see the movie. Its a movie for goodness sakes. I love it. All they had to do is let Lupita get pregnant & boom T’Chala Junior is born. Then a legacy begins….
No one ask for him to dawn the stars and stripes.
One of the top execs at Disney, who happens to be black, even said he hasn’t earned the shield yet even after having his own series. How disrespectful. Wake up and take the emotion out of it. T’Challa is greater than Chad and the family understands that. They are profiting off of his death.
My thoughts on the matter, I don’t think they need to necessarily recast T’challa why I believe that is because I personally don’t want him to be forgotten as the one and original T’challa so by putting someone else in the role you realize they’re going to have some really big shoes to fill. And even if they are better than Chadwick, that begs the question wouldn’t that just let people forget who the original was? Also for the comment that mentioned about batman and Spider-Man there’s a huge difference between those two and black panther. For one Black panther much like Captain America is a title Spider-Man has always been and always will be Peter Parker or at least the original version will always be Peter Parker and the same for Bruce Wayne so yeah you can recast it maybe they’ll be just as memorable or maybe they’ll be worse it may not necessarily work out in your favour but as I was saying black panther is a title so you don’t have to necessarily recast T’challa you can just pass it through the family or have another Next generation black panther come in like someone has a baby. They would only need to set up that T’challa and nakia had a baby that’s all they would need to do. I disagree that it’s an attack on black trauma like really? And they’re not profiting off of it either because they want to honor him as much as we do so why would they be profitting off of it? And I will go in the same vein with Star wars you didn’t hear people recast Grand Mof Tarkin they didn’t even do that they actually did a CGI version. Bad idea honestly but it’s basically the same type of idea. It’s one character who was played well by the very first person who was cast you wouldn’t just recast it and then forget about him. The show can still go on but with a different black panther.
T’Challa should be recast but in keeping with the storyline. T’Challa became the Black Panther b/c his father died. T’Challa has passed, now a new Panther must be selected. The question is: Who & how are they chosen?
Bravo. Excellent point. I think war machine is pretty prominent as well. Hope about Luke Cage? Blade? Photon? Nick Fury? Valkyrie? Iron heart and Patriot are coming. We have plenty of Black superheroes representing. This isnt even touching on all the supporting actors such as Heimdall.
I believe he should have been recast so that Waconda could have continued. I haven’t seen the new one but to kill off the royal family or that their home is destroyed is not good at all.
A real Black Panther fan would know that there was more than one Black Panther in the Marvel universe. Black Panther was one of Stan Lee’s favorite characters. This character has been around for ages. Read the comics and you will learn about the Black Panther story. The character was around way before the movie.
That’s DC, not Marvel. Different studios, different companies.
And they weren’t all “replacements ”. There were different story arcs, The Dark Knight was based off the graphic novel.
With Superman, they were reboots, not continuations of the original story.
When the original Batman movies did replacements after Micheal Keaton left, the resulting movies did horrible. It didn’t work very well.
So what is the answer? Recast T’Challa and risk it failing like all other movie series that replaced the original? Maybe they just shouldn’t have even made Black Panther 2 at all. Would that have been better? Let it all just get dumped in the trash?
T’Challa doesn’t even stay as Black Panther in the comics. He steps down and Shuri takes a turn (am so hoping that happens in the movie!!!) and his son also becomes Black Panther (also hoping this comes to life).
It was heartbreaking for Chadwick to die so young from such and awful disease that he fought so hard to battle.
Instead of seeing this as “Marvel is exploiting” or “it’s just for profits”, they were truly looking to give a farewell that showed the love of the people that worked with him at MCU and this is their heartfelt goodbye to someone very special that brought to life one of the best Marvel superheroes in such an amazing way and to give us fans a way to say goodbye as well?
Different studios? So you haven’t seen the Spiderman recasts? Didn’t see the Bruce Banner one either? Hulk wasn’t a different story arc as they are even using the same actor to continue playing Abomination.
Please do your research before commenting. Sony did Spider-Man (2002) and The Amazing Spiderman films while Marvel did MCU Spider-Man films. Two different studios. Also they didn’t “recast” Spider-Man, they just rebooted the series and couldn’t use either Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield because both were too old to play a high school kid. Second, both the Hulk and War Machine recasts were because of controversy that the actors got caught up in rather than the actors passing away. Two completely different situations.
Correction: Sony did Spider-Man films and reached an agreement allowing the character to be incorporated into the MCU. They were going to make more films with the character whether he was going to be in the MCU or not.
The only time he was in a Marvel MCU film was his appearance in Civil War. That’s why the Holland era was MCU adjacent, with characters like Iron Man or Nick Fury in purely supporting roles designed to progress a plot that was a solo Spider-Man story, not an MCU specific one. It’s also why No Way Home is primarily a Sony Spider-Man movie focused on the Sony live action Spider-Man Universe that preceded it, relegating Doctor Strange to supporting background status. It’s also why we have the Into the Spider-Verse franchise, which has nothing to do with the MCU.
Bro u tripping Marvel just place d all three Spiderman’s together but you are defending marvel for killing off a major character..a black one ..a positive ..one a royal one..a rich one …oh snap I see why now lol F@#$k Marvel and Feige
U missing the point …the characters don’t die of the actor does wtf …this is meaningful to young black and brown kids who have not had a hero to represent them
Your comment only disrespect, i would say, all black characters that exist! T‘Challa isn‘t the only black „hero“ to represent black children/people. Alone for Marvel i know 6 and there are also Star Trek, Doctor who, DC, Star Wars, …
The Hulk recast isn’t the same thing. Edward Norton didn’t die
Marvel only replaced Edward Norton because he wanted the same money as Robert Downey Jr for Avengers and Marvel told him no
Chadwick Bowman was a talented actor and seemed to be a sinceraly decent person. He will be missed. Let’s just enjoy the movies he did make. And enjoy the many other cast members talents who contributed to the Wakanda Forever Black Panther 2 project ❤️
Okay, so let me get this straight. You would be cool if your employer put together a memorial for you if you died (against your family’s wishes) and then thay charged $15 to attend said “memorial”..?
Bro u tripping Marvel just place d all three Spiderman’s together but you are defending marvel for killing off a major character..a black one ..a positive ..one a royal one..a rich one …oh snap I see why now lol F@#$k Marvel and Feige
Yes they recacs the Superman. I feel like Black Panther was such a strong character not only for the black community but for all of us how love can bring us together. Allowing him to go down in history just as that our hero! That is not an injustice. Young children will be able to look at him for years to come and know that there was no replacing that fantastic great black man!
And all the Batman’s suck, Let it be, people… Chadwick Bozeman was a GREAT T’Challa, we all must move on. And in no way is marvel profiting off of his death, it’s a story, make believe, so go ahead and make believe! Also… Maybe you should actually watch the movie before you comment on it. All you’ve seen so far is trailer.
There are plenty of stories in which T’Challa figures. His marriage to Storm connected him to the X-men. He and his wife were briefly part of the Fantastic Four. Would Marvel have simply dropped the character of Thor if Hemsworth had died? I’m sure they would have created an excuse for his absence and eventually recast the role. Why? It’s because some characters are important to the story. Just removing T’Challa gives the impression that his stories don’t matter so they can do without him.
They are using this death to get people’s sympathy to go back ……when they lied and said they wouldn’t this is disrespectful like they do all black characters in movies ….look at the garage cgi budget they gave them after all the other movies …racism is in Hollywood …hollyweird I mean
Often, the sensible voice gets drowned out in the din, but I hear you. We, Black folks, need to learn how to manifest reality from imagination rather than try to live reality without imagination.
I have a few issues. First of all, the insanely talented and kind hearted boseman was still alive when Paramount decided not to recast Checkhov in Star Trek after the actor died, so it’s not like he was unfamiliar with preserving a performance.
Second, Black Panther was a massive success as beside being black escapism it was also a pan-African story.
Personally i feel the uproar is uniquely African American and views the situation through the daily lens of their lives.
In today’s competitive market movies, especially high budget movies need to make the most profit internationally.
For me it is not hard to see and identify several african civil rights heroes on whom the modern tchalla is based. Many of them died before their time and they are still known and not forgotten.
Edward Norton played the Hulk in a paramount movie, not a marvel one, so in the mcu only ruffalo portrays him.
A recast would mean restarting most of the process from scratch snd i font think it eould serve the purpise many angry people now think it would.
Exactly Black Panther I I will do well. These are either racist yt people using black faces to spread hate. Or people are asinine with their comments I will support this movie The Harder They Fall Movie did a true tribute to Chadwick Boseman true thespian he will be missed Rest in Power King 👑 ❤
These the same folx that talk about not voting as if that gets us anywhere. Yes, black people can be this ornery and counterproductive. No surprise for me at all.
Black panther was in more then one movie so these people that said he was in one movie are crazy plus what’s more powerful then a black women becoming black panther it happens in the comic
Who knows who’s behind it but they make a valid point. Is boycotting BP2 the right thing to try to do, of course not. I’m seeing this 1000%. I do believe in recasting T’Challa because we didn’t get enough of the character solo stories. Yes, Shuri became BP as well and it’s ok for her too but T’Challa is an important figure for Wakanda, Avengers and the world. Not to mention, this biggest marriage in mcu history was between him and Storm who fans also want to see become apart of Wakanda in her part as Queen. It’s so many different stories regarding T’Challa and that is the point of what fans are saying. Chad’s own family spoke about this and saying he would have wanted his character to be recast because he understood the importance of T’Challa. There may be some secrets revealed in BP2 and we just may get a hint of a recast at the end..who know.
I agree. I cried for days when Chadwick died like he was my brother. I see it as an honor but people just want to complain about everything. Let his sister take up the mantle of Black Panther. Wakanda Forever. Chadwick will always be my king.
I can’t believe Black people like you are so naive. MCU is trying to profit off of Chadwicks death. Then killing off T Challah , now all of the young black boys who was a fan get to see him killed for the third time
First off the original Black panther never died in the comics we don’t want an alternate version of him we want the original they should request and honor him like Chadwick’s brother said recast or boycott.
You clearly never read the comics cause 95 percent of the Black Panther stories revolves around T’Challa. In the comics Shuri and T’Challa was Black Panther at the same time at one point. Why you don’t want T’Challa recasted when the Boseman family supports recasting? How is Marvel going to honor Chadwick when they haven’t consulted the family? Killing off T’Challa is the opposite of honoring Chadwick. It’s actually everything he was against based on his own words.
With his passing, I think it’s best to honor him by getting rid of all black superheroes. Not just in Marvel movies but DC and other franchises. I say this completely out of love and respect. No more black superheroes!!! #UncastAllBlackPeople #InEverything #JustToBeSafe #TheyCantBeExtrasEither #OnlyJanitorsOffscreen
Has to be the woke nuts, Disney needs to go unwoke, and become human again. God is need back at Disney, but Disney and it’s woke employees and supporters
are nothing but Satan’s pets.
You sound foo bro he got one movie! Tchalla is black panther point blank period, just like theirs super girl, and super boy no.ome cares they love superman Clark Kent…just like iron heart and war machine no.ome cares really its Tony stark is the man, Spiderman its Peter bro not miles morales but I’m here for it but it’s Peter…I want tchalla he’s the panther not Chadwick rest his soul….
Good point and he owned the role of the black panther, so why not his memory be celebrated and the power of the black panther be transferred to someone else to lead and protect WAKANDAS PEOPLE WAKANDA FOREVER
Funniest thing I heard on the radio today, was a DJ, a white woman in her 50s, who knew absolutely nothing about the MCU, (she said she only has seen black panther, but didn’t know a single thing about the movie) was talking about the trailer that was released. She said flat out, she didn’t know what was happening in the trailer, then blurted out, “That’s it. I’m sold. BLACK POWER.” The fact she said she knows nothing about the character, the story from the first one, even though she said she watched it, and was shouting “BLACK POWER” on the radio, saying she loved the trailler,(again without knowing the story, the characters,) showed she didn’t care about the movie, she just wanted to make a political statement. She likely wasn’t even going to watch the movie, but was going to tell people how great it is. Now you see articles, about how people want to protest the second movie, because it’s essentially an insult to Chadwick Boseman.

I hate this. I hate knowing that this decision was old white dudes in suits that sat around a golden table snorting gold dust though golden straws and came to a conclusion that this was the best decision to make and it’s what black people would have wanted. It pisses me off cause I’m white and i know that nobody who is a fan of this massive odyssey and bringing together the greatest Marvel superheroes and paying homage to the beloved comics, nobody in that category wants this. It’s beyond exploiting a real life death. A few people that were behind this decision actually think that by doing this, they’ll appear more humane but all it does is price their absence of humanity. Nobody is concerned about another actor doing as good of a job, it’s disconcerting because they’re killing off a fictional character because the actor tragically died. Keep his legacy alive through his heart. Following this logic, no superman movies should have made when Christopher Reeves was paralyzed but that wasn’t even brought up. Andy Whitfield died after season 1 of Spartacus but they recast and told the story he gave life to. Its like you’re killing his legacy in a demented way that resembles retiring pro athletes numbers but that’s real life… Smh. Equality doesn’t have exceptions

Exactly! Of all the YouTube video reactions (most from Black YouTube channels) and comments, not ONE time have I seen this “trend” being talked about. They have all said they, they are against recasting Chadwick, so I don’t know what TF this “trend” is all about. Sometimes the people making the most noise about something aren’t even the one’s directly affected by it, so I too believe this is mostly other folks being “outraged”. I’m Mexican and I agree, T’Challa should not be recast. Like someone here said, there are other BP’s in the comics, let them shine as well. I will support the movie either way. PS: I low-key hope they bring back Eric so he can become BP in the next movie lol
He has a sister, why can’t she take over as Queen of Wakanda? It is terrible he passed and he is an amazing Black Panther but we all know recast roles always have proponents for or against how each actor plays the role. We all have our favorite Batman or Spiderman actor and even the actor that didn’t live up to the role. They did also open up the whole multiverse so there are different heros in each different multiverse. So I am pretty sure Black Panther will show again, just not in the way we think and won’t necessarily be recast in the primary timeline.
I totallybelu4ve it. Because this is the kind of short-sighted and stupid stuff that we do. We always do this to ourselves, then blame our deprivations on everybody else. White people act against black people, but black people make the white man’s work more complete with just as many rationalizations and justifications.
There is not one Black Panther. It’s a a role past down over time for the most worthy protector of Wakanda. They have to kill of his Black Panther because he is no longer with us. Then they can rewrite how they passed the torch to the recanted characters for future movies.
This is BS. If Tom Holland were to tragically pass, they would recast spider man. They would NOT replace him with a woman. This movie is going to be the biggest box office bomb in the MCU.

Very suspicious how toxic this demanding is. This could easily be Astroturf. There is no right way to handle death. Marvel is walking away from franchise gold by not recasting. Marvel is about more than money. This is not a controversy. Boycotting the movie is a middle finger to the cast and crew who would have been in the alternate version. They were Chadwick’s peers. They are cool with this. Chadwick’s family is not the arbiter
I know there have been MCU recasts in the past (most notably with the roles of Banner/Hulk and Rhodes/War Machine) but Boseman absolutely dominated the role of T’Challa. He was the Black Panther and I don’t blame Feige for not wanting to recast that particular part. It is in honor and respect of Chadwick Boseman that this decision was made. People should equally respect that choice and move on. They should also take heed: you see what happened when they “recast” Han Solo in his Star Wars origin movie. Look how badly it went.
Well his brother isn’t Chadwick and Chadwick is not here to say how he really feels. We are and so are the people making the movie. Most of us don’t want T’Challa to be recast, Feige respected that, so he did basically what the majority of the fans wanted. Those “other fans” should respect that too.

Oh, this is entertainment at its finest. Black people are calling for a boycott of a black super hero that should a role model for them, because they won’t recast T’challa? Read the comics, Shuri takes over as black panther. People need to get lives
Shuri came way many comics down the road. This is some b.s. This is a skao in Black men’s face to recast black panther with a female. Hollywood is ahain going woke and trying to put our women over us men. Symbolism at its finest.
With his passing, I think it’s best to honor him by getting rid of all black superheroes. Not just in Marvel movies but DC and other franchises. I say this completely out of love and respect. What these fans don’t realize is that they have to find a way to explain the different appearance of T’Challa if they are to recast him. For now, the role of Black Panther will go to Shuri, as it did in the comics. Perhaps a T’Challa from another universe, who looks different, will take over the role from Shuri at some point. We’ll just have to wait and see.
No one seems overly deterred by the differerent appearances of Bruce Banner/Hulk, Bruce Wayne/Batman, Peter Parker/Spider-man, James Rhodes/War Machine, or Clark Kent/Superman. Certainly not enough to no longer embrace the characters. There might be some debate as to who was best in the role (The many faces of James Bond). Chadwick Boseman was indeed iconic in the role of T’Challa, but it was also an iconic role that deserved to be continued.
I am black Man raising three strong young black men. I want be seeing this movie. I agree with the article. This is not the right way to move forward with the Black Panther franchise. Marvel you missed it. T’Challa will not be given the chance to fully blossom.
Actors are recast all the time. It is a common practice. To me, the fact that they chose to NOT recast the character, is more of a respectful gesture due to it’s rarity as an occurrence. They did not kill off T’Challa. They decided that T’Challa will not be recast so that Chadwick and his memory holds that Marvel Studios legacy exclusively.
The trailer looks great! I don’t know who is talking about boycotting this movie! If they would’ve recast most people would complain about that! I’m going to go and see the movie and support the remaining and newer cast because the movie looks like a great deal of fun and excitement to be had by all!!
Amen. But you know how folk are can’t wait to be the first to attack something. My family and I will be there on opening night. Didn’t Ryan Coogler write this story? I doubt he (or the other main actors) would exploit Chadwick’s memory for profit.
Nobody else could have played that role. Recasting and getting a sub-par portrayal of the character would have disrespected Chadwick, the character, and the fans. They chose the only thing that made sense. It’s a shame that they had to make the choice, but they are doing the best in a tragic situation. I think that the trailer looks amazing, and I can’t wait to see the movie. People need to stop looking for things to complain about. People make movies to entertain us, yet the public feels emboldened to get online and tear their efforts apart. If you don’t like it, don’t go watch it. Nothing else really has to be said about it. They can’t make every fan happy. It’s impossible.
Really….nobody could have played the character as well? That’s pretty insulting to black actors and actors in general. If someone else had played him originally and passed away, you might be saying the same thing. Very closed minded. Nobody should feel so ignorant to make a statement like that.
We need black panther killing off the hero just because the actor passed is very unreasonable Black Panther will be eternal as always been in the comics
There is another option. Don’t recast T’Challa, but don’t kill him either. Deep Fake technology is probably almost good enough now to keep Boseman as T’Challa. I bet if Disney studios tried, they could make it happen. The actors guild may have a coronary tho….
Y’all are aware of the multiverse, right? There are billions of T’Challa’s out there. Plenty of opportunity to recast for another adventure in the future, not just those here in 616
What about honor Chadwick Boseman by respecting his family. Listen to their opinion not the studio, not the fans, not any movements or anyone trying to push for one thing or another. They know him best and what he would have wanted and what they feel is the best. Not what everyone else thinks. Everyone wants to say their opinion and wants people to listen to them. But we all should listen more and talk less.
Isn’t this the Multiverse Saga? Who says T’Challa won’t be back?
Chadwick brought something special to the role and his death was a tragedy. I think recasting his exact role isn’t necessary when others can take the mantle and his variant(s) can join in. It adds drama and sadness to the story. Why would they not use the elements in front of them?
Plus, why is everyone hating on Shuri? Let her shine in this one.
It’s not “evil” that MCU went ahead with a no-Chadwick movie anyway where T’Challa was fictionally dead–
It’s more an example of that neurotic Hollywood practice called “Doubling down”:
Where, rather than admit they just shouldn’t have made the movie in the first place after announcing it (and the fact that they can’t contractually give back the money they raised to investors), they go overboard in responding to fans’ complaints of “You can’t make this movie without Chadwick!”
And, instead of just giving it a plot where the queen or sister become the new Panther, play we-meant-to-do-that and go OVERBOARD in making it a glass-ceiling drama of the female struggle to overcome death and take on the new responsibility, as ruler and mother of her people!…
…And end up making it look like it’s going to be another soppy female-audience Eternals/Black Widow chik-flik.
Now, a recast T’Challa vs. Namor, I would’ve gone to see.
Let see how this works out. If it tanks then when Kang comes around they’ll do what they do in the com is, HULK will eat a magic taco during victory party & a magic fart cloud will reset time, space & reality with a new T’Challa!
I feel compelled to point out this the sequel, like the original, is written and directed by Ryan Coogler, who doesn’t seem inclined to dishonor Black actors or characters in any way. Does that not carry any confidence for fans? Come on, now!
Black Panther was easily one of the very best Marvel movies— and hero movies— of all time, and the sequel looks at least as amazing. Fanboys have needed to chill out ever since the Internet blew up. Seriously.
Kill him off, don’t kill him people are gonna gonna complain either way. It’s not about the art of anything anymore, people can’t just shut up and enjoy life anymore without trying to find things to complain about. Grow up, stop being so sensitive and enjoy the art of the comics being brought to film!

I understand the recast movement but has anyone actually seen the movie yet? Do they know if they killed off the black panther or if the mantle has been passed again. Marvel does not like to recast, it’s only happened twice to my knowledge and Marvel is really good at keeping info from people. Only when the move comes out will we truly know.
I do not think T’Challa should not be recast! Chadwick played this role perfectly and no one could ever, ever, replace him and if they do recast T’challa and the person that gets cast for the role doesn’t add up to Chadwick
then people would only complain about how they ruined the part so that would be a dishonor to Chadwick! I think boycotting this movie would be so wrong and just let Chadwick be the only true king in Black Panther!!!
You ask me, this argument isn’t actually about recasting T’challa or about dishonoring Chadwick Boseman. It’s about a bunch of trolls who hate the idea of a female Black Panther, and so have latched on to the only way they have to divide fans in the hopes of undermining the movie’s success. #WakandaForever
I was initially very skeptical about this direction. I was in favor of a superbly done deep fake for Chadwick Bozeman like the one used for Mark Hamil. However, this is actually staying true to the comics. Black panther died of an aneurysm or was assassinated in a few separate timelines. Shiri then inherited the BP mantle. As long as it’s handled correctly I think the BP & wakanda legacy will continue.
I don’t agree with recasting and I think if Tom Holland died they would not recast him either but they are obviously moving on with a black panther it just isn’t t’challa. Thats fine with me as long as black panther continues on and I’m gonna take a stab in the dark that its a person of color playing this part whether its a man or woman I would prefer a man but ill be happy either way knowing the character can live on and they can continue to let it be a staple of the mcu. I think too many people would hate it more if they recasted and the person did a bad job or wasn’t as good this way we can judge the person for being their own black panther.
I think this is like the dusting cliff hanger characters did get brought back. I think they are doing this as an honor to Chadwick Boseman so in the 616 he will forever be Black Panther (gotta admit he did amazing work and fighting cancer along with it, amazing). But look at the line up and the future set up carefully there’s a full multiverse they are just begining to unlock. I think Black Panther will be recast as either a different multiverse variant or one that transcended from one to another. Remember they just added there is a Valhalla so in Norse mythos you die you go there and are reborn in the next plane, this universe or the next. So between multiverses and the Valhalla reference and Marvel killing off and bringing characters back. I think it was out of respect to Chadwick Boseman and this will allow more character development of Wakandans and the others who have not gotten as much screen time. Before the big reveal that Black Panther shifted between planes and will pop back up recast coming in from another universe. I know nobody likes seeing thier guy die off but this is Marvel anything is possible and I ain’t flooding the faith just yet, he will be back.
Black Panther is not dead he is being recast just by another character. The films are an adaptation of the comic books and making black Panther someone else can be written into the films. Peoples complaints are nonsense Black Panther is forever.
Even if I don’t agree, I get people wanting to recast T’Challa but don’t people understand that T’Challa and Black Panther are two separate entities. T’Challa was the fictional real-life person in Marvel, which would be weird to see someone else other than Chadwick Bozeman play, while many characters from Shuri to Kilmonger have worn the Black Panther suit. To me, you can have a “second” Black Panther without recasting T’Challa because in the comics the idea of the suit was bigger than the one character who wore it at the time.
Recast T’Challa. I don’t think it’s blacks not wanting to not recast at all . It’s Disney who controls Marvel Studios doing this. Yes it’s unfortunate that Chadwick passed away but if it would have been any other character from another race, they wouldn’t have hesitate to recast. They know blacks are overemotional and they are taking advantage of it. It’s a way to push this feminist crap on to these black women who think they are empowered . If you notice they are changing all the male characters to female characters. I only saw 3 men in the trailer. The rest were women .
Wow. That was a lot of boilerplate for a tiny story. I mean, I know your entire stick is to reuse the same copy and paste summaries that waste people’s time to make them scroll through piles of ads to get to the actual story, but this one takes the cake.
You will NOT keep us from supporting this movie. We will be out in full force. We WILL usurp the narrative that black film can’t be at the forefront of theatrical entertainment. Wakanda…the struggle, FOREVER!
Often, the sensible voice gets drowned out in the din, but I hear you. We, Black folks, need to learn how to manifest reality from imagination rather than try to live reality without imagination.
Boseman’s Black Panther died in the film, his father was black panther before him and his people will choose a new black panther. Tony stark died in the film, you don’t see him being recast. Black widow died and she’s not recast either but black panther is different. There will always be a black panther because when 1 dies another is selected.
They should recast Black Panther with a white actor to balance things out a bit.
After all the list of race swapped white characters is long:
Jordan cast as Johnny storm in Fantastic 4 remake bomb.
Fishburne as Perry White in Man of Steel
Billy Dee Williams as Harvey Dent in Batman 89
Will Smith as Deadshot
Idris Elba as VIKING god Heimdall
Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury
Harry Lennix as Martian Manhunter
Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen (Supergirl)
Halle Berry as Catwoman
Candice Patton as Iris West in the Flash
Wally West in the Flash
Jaime Fox as Electro
Mordo in Dr Strange
Granted most of these are comics to movie raceswapping and not race swapping an existing movie actor but it still counts.
Of course recast the role…..What a lot of you MCU fans fail to understand is that T’Challa/Black Panther is a character that has been apart of the Marvel story for 60years !!!! There is so much of this character’s story that we haven’t seen yet. The fact that they are pushing the Atlantis/Wakanda War without T’Challa is reckless and taking an unnecessary gamble. Imagine doing the Civil War story without Iron Man…. It wouldn’t work . Secondly, and most importantly, why wouldn’t you want to give another Black actor an opportunity ? This SOOOOO not right. The only Black male superheroes left in the MCU are the ones who were sidekicks who inherited their titles from more popular white characters.BP is the first, legitimate, Black superhero that was created to be his own, independent character that didn’t require any help being a superhero from any other character. Give our boys the image of a strong Black male leader/ superhero again.
I feel like recasting him would be hard because it would never be the same. At least give a reason he died. Marvel is Marvel not real life. And the actor who would recast him would just be compared constantly and face a lot of hate. Also there is another black panther. Just not another t’challa.
I would still see the movie. Loved the 1st one. All they had to do was let Lupita make a T’Challa Jr. & create a legacy so the character will live on in his child & future children. I mean that will make more sense.
If they were to recast they people would be upset they recast him so they didn’t recast him and people are still upset it won’t matter cause by the time secret wars drops the whole mcu is gonna get rebooted anyway so that’s the time to recast everyone it’s gonna happen watch
It’s all nonsense. The media loves to turn 10 tweets from random people into it must be the majority is outraged. Secondly I just can’t stand Disney anymore they just can’t get out of their own way
Yes, the character should be recast. As a Dine, or a Roumanian, or a plains Mongolian, or an indigenous australian. These groups are horrendously underrepresented.
I’m not sure how all of this nonsense got started. I WILL BE SUPPORTING THIS MOVIE! No one has even seen the movie to know the storyline. Maybe this movie is a setup for a new Black Panther to emerge. People are assuming based on a trailer.
of course they were going to ‘recast’ the actual Black Panther part of it and I don’t believe that’s slapping Boseman in the fact at all. It’s not about profit its about moving on. Where where all of you whiners when all they did was show a magazine cover of Stan Lee in Venom 2? Why didn’t any of you complain about them finding someone else to make his little cameos? All they did for Stan is put his face someplace and yet the world rejoiced. Now you are all complaining about this? It’s jist a character. I’m sure wherever Boseman is, he’s happy with the direction they took things. Life moves on, it has to.
I don’t think that Feige is wrong by not recasting the role. He has a vision for the marvel universe on a large scale lets at least see the movie before we start to bash it.
Someone said T’challa is just as important to Marvel as Tony Stark and Steve Rogers. Well, Tony Stark died and Steve Rogers left to grow old with Carter, so why are y’all crying over this? It’s a great honor that Boseman will be the only Black Panther. That is until the character is recast as another person, be it a white person or a female just like they are doing with Iron Heart, Capt. America, Thor, and others. Y’all ain’t been in upheavel over these characters… Just saying!!
Okay, so let me get this straight. You would be cool if your employer put together a memorial for you if you died (against your family’s wishes) and then thay charged $15 to attend said “memorial”..?
This is a no-win situation. If they recast, some would hate it if they kill him off others will hate it. Is it respectful to kill him off or disrespectful that they recast? It’s all your perspective of the movie and cast.
Their choice is to honor his performance as the character.
People wouldn’t have been satisfied either way. Same people saying recast would be the the first ones upset that the replacement wasn’t Chadwick and saying they shouldn’t have recasted. Any any REAL MARVEL fan knows that T’Challa isn’t the only Black Panther, and his sister actually did take over for a time.
I think they should have a new character take up the Black panther mantle. The arguments I’m seeing quoted in this article that because he was in one solo movie we somehow haven’t gotten a substantial amount of Tchalla are insane. The hulk was in one solo movie as well and he’s still a pivotal character, as is T’challa, who is a very important character in three MCU films, and I suspect even in death, will be a very important character in a fourth.
Really?!! A movie without the lead character!! Only Disney would do something this stupid. Hey try this? Recast and honor Chadwick by not letting something he help create and keep people interested and happy, or don’t and walk over the character that Chadwick help make famous. Da heck are y’all doing anyway?
Thankfully the movie wasn’t called T’Challa. It used the title Black Panther that has been passed to other characters many times in the comics and once already in the MCU
Marvel fans are toxic, it’s gross. They get what they ask for and will nitpick at everything.
Obviously they got the greenlight to continue this story. How about you wait and watch it THEN you can form your opinions.
The original actors that played Superman, Batman and Spiderman stared in more than one of there series movie and none of those actors passed away
causing a recast. And when a character is played by different people it does not bring the same energy to the roll.
Just as the mantle of Captain America gets passed, Iron Man’s place gets filled, Thor got passed around by a few beings, so did Black Panther in the comics. Having a completely different character take up the mantle would not be out of the realm of possibilities. MCU hasn’t exactly followed the chronological order of events or the characters involved, such as no X-Men, Fantastic Four, or Adam Warlock in the Infinity Gauntlet movies even though they played big parts in the comics. I know if was due to contracts and licensing, but my point is there are ways things like this. Recasting Black Panther and carrying in the character’s story seems a MORE fitting way to carry on Chadwick Boseman’s legacy with the character than to kill him off. Normally I’m against recasting major characters, but I’m this case it’s not against canon.
Since they killed off just about every female marvel superhero except Captain Marvel, maybe Shuri should be there next Black Panther. Has Marvel even had a black female superhero yet?
So many of us are beyond tired of everything being said that the world is prejudice against black. And getting in an uproar if a blacks not in a movie or killed in a movie or whatever. Can you imagine if we had a channel called the white channel. They have the Bet channel the Bet awards n more. It’s ridiculous!! Stop the nonsense
Honestly, the allowance of a dead actor’s character to be written out tastefully is so much less tacky than what Lucasfilm did with Carrie Fisher’s visage when she died, CGI’ing her face on someone else. People have a weird need to make everything involving black skin to be racism. If he was recast people would say that it means black actors are interchangeable. If you recast it’s racist cause it’s saying a black hero dying is killing off a role model or causing black trauma.
People in real life die, it’s a fact of life. Maybe the movie will be a good film about grieving a dead loved one. It would be the antithesis of causing trauma that way but it’s still problematic somehow.
I understand both sides. Looking at what was said made me think people were right they should’ve recast the character. I know when Chadwick first passed people came out saying they didn’t want anyone else in that role and I think that was in grief. It’s true that if GOD forbid Downey or Hemsworth or anyone like that had passed instead they wouldn’t have that character pass away as well. The movie is a tribute which is great and it will successful. There’s still a chance both will happen. There’s a multiverse now so we could still see another T’Challa without offending anyone.
With other media platforms, Star Wars, Star Trek, other MCU projects like Thor, and most Disney movies going with all female casts, has it occurred to anyone that with the passing of Chadwick Boseman that maybe the producers are going to introduce a FEMALE Black Panther?
Oh my God. T’challa is dead. Chadwick is dead. How am I going to live. My life is over. MCU is all i care about. I even gave up my family and job just so that I could talk about MCU all day long. What am I going to do now?
What a stupid article. The author needs to do more than look at a few social media posts. There is no evidence that this is representative of what most people really want, and it wouldn’t matter if it did.
Here is a simple solution that would not only honor Chadwick Boseman, but also keep T’Challa alive.
In one of the other universes, that universe’s Black Panther was killed when his father was assassinated. That universe needed Boseman’s T’Challa and by grabbing him, another T’Challa replaces the one missing from the Boseman Timeline. 10 minutes of story and boom, you can recast Boseman, honor his legacy, and give the new T’Challa something to model himself after as maybe he was not as happy being in his father’s Shadow.
There was an amazing potential story about fathers and sons in Black Panther and due to the powers that be at Marvel, nobody saw it.
One son sees duty in honoring his father while a different T’Challa finds strength in understanding his father but not becoming like him, and learning that with great power comes great responsibility.
That to me would be a Black Panther movie worth my time.
This is exactly why Ryan chose this direction, folks are unable to separate Chadwick from T’Challa. Since he’s no longer around the mantle cannot be passed to another character as they have been doing in the marvel series. Therefore you add some reality to fiction – kill him off, pass Shuri the mantle and we know she didn’t do that good of a job which would help to explain the new T’Challa. The new T’Challa may even be used to help reintroduce the Xmen into the Marvel-verse
Born in 1968, I have been doing all things comicbook related for over 50 years. Toys, clothing, comics, cartoons, movies, board games, video games
…TV shows. I remember T’Challa sporting a half mask. Jungle Action to Fantastic Four. Y’all really tried it as if Black Folks aren’t into Superheroes like that. I will make it my PERSONAL MISSION TO SEE THIS MOVIE FAIL.
Crazy cause I don’t believe you would’ve pulled this on Stan’s watch.
I feel like recasting will be like beating a dead horse. We’ve seen this time and time again with movies and it’s so redundant. Give the movie a chance before y’all attack it! Also remember that Marvel is full of stunts. They’ll show one thing in the trailer and then it’ll be completely different in the actual movie itself. Or have we not learned that after 10/11 years in the MCU??
This entire situation is a lose-lose. Replacing Chadwick would seem like his take on the character is not actually his own and he’s replaceable. I understand his wishes to have T’Challa live on and I personally would do as he wished but, optically, I could see people misconstruing it as black actors being expendable and turn it into a racial argument.
The funny thing is, unlike some people speculating on this comment section, I think the MCU’s casting department WOULD lay other characters to rest if the actor had an untimely death and they’d try to do what they’re doing here. If Tom Holland did pass away they’d try to have Miles Morales or someone take up the reigns because these days the MCU very much emphasizes the importance of the star power behind the roles. If Chris Hemsworth died they’d have to figure out a way for someone else to fill the role. Same with anyone, IMO. These days the MCU doesn’t recast often and they definitely don’t when it’s in a tactless way (like replacing someone who recently died at a really young age). The only did under a few special cases where it wasn’t DEATH preventing them from using the character, it was money/contract disputes (Edward Norton and Terrance Howard).
The alternate is doing a homage to T’Challa and picking up the pieces with his supporting cast and figuring out how to utilize the remaining cast to carry his story on. It is sad that a Marvel Comics icon whose comics are still on going will be unable to be used. It’s a big shame but, Chadwick was wonderful in the role but it’s probably better to allow the audience to not compare another actor to him as a character. Especially since T’Challa was Chadwick’s most beloved role.
I believe that’s Shuri in the suit. She takes over as the new Black Panther in the comics, so I’ve read, first and foremost. Second, I know curves when I see ’em.
I think everyone might be jumping the gun on this. For all we know they are going to come up with a was to resurrect the character. Or I mean it shows a baby being born if he is given the name sake then the character can continue. If it plays out of everyone is saying then maybe. As far as the civil war and people dying and all being brought up in all comics there is always pain and destruction, otherwise there is no need for heroes.
With all due respect Falcon is a sidekick. And the sidekick legacy of black actors is typical of Hollywood’s undermining of the characters they play. There’s more to be said on this topic but I want to drive this home. King T’Challa’s mythical history holds weight heavier then Iron Man or any other character in Marvel for what he represents along with the other Wakandans. To kill him of like a red shirt in Star Trek is Kim to the running joke of killing off black characters in old Hollywood movies early in the Movie. One of the things that made the first movie so great was the not only was it depicting royalty but a functional black family working with others. The shine was on cooperate working between black people in their own kingdom not under some people unjustly ruling over them. We can go down the list of other A list heroes both comic and non-comic book that were recast. Black death has been profitable on the big screen for many years since the first Hollywood Blockbuster Birth of a Nation and although the narrative has slightly changed the fundament idea is still prominent. These would be just a few of the reasons why black people are upset.
Let’s not forget they killed Tchalla’s uncle and father on the first Black Panther, the Hollywood tradition of killing off black male characters is intact.
Honestly, why are we not channeling on this energy into getting the Real Life black historical people who have contributed to society? Focused on a fictional characters back stories and arguing about something imaginary, what about the real people that white history has excluded from our collective education overall. They trying to rewrite history calling slavery “involuntary relocation”. Real problems facing real people.
It’s not black folks doing this! It’s ignorant potsters trying to make black folks look insane! It happens all the time, and they try to cause division in the community.
Their is nothing wrong with killing him off. These people are just fans of the movie nothing more. The real FANS KNOW ABOUT THE BLACK PANTHER. In the comics he actually died. His sister took the mantle of the Black Panther. Yes, their were more Balck Panthers. These people are making political when it doesn’t have to be. Marvel OWNS THE RIGHTS TO THE BLACK PANTHER. NOT THESE FOOLS. UNTIL YOU OWN A COMIC CHARACTER. THEN YOU CAN DO WHITE YA’LL WANT. THEY ARE PAYING RESPECT TO HIM. HE MADE BLACK PANTHER. NONE OF YOU WHO ARE COMPLAINING MADE THE BLACK PANTHER. I DON’T LIKE CAPTIAN NAMOR A.K.A SUB-MARINER.. HE’S HALF HUMAN AND HALF ATLANTEAN.. JUST LIKE AQUAMAN. I DON’T LIKE THAT HE’S MAYAN DESCENT. IT IS WHAT IT IS. I CAN’T CHANGE THAT. JUST WATCH THE MOVIE AND GIVE MY OPINION ABOUT.
Just don’t go to the movie, but why boycott? I’m not a MCU fan, but I am a Black Panther fan. My mother went to see & LOVED Black Panther, she isn’t going to see any other MCU movie. This particular movie goes far beyond the influence of MCU, therefore Chadwick’s death also transcends. Doesn’t his character die in the comics anyway? How about stick to the script!
It always bothers me when, without having seen the final movie, people call for a boycott. I trust Ryan Coogler! I believe a hero will emerge, how can one not? It’s not going to be T’Challa but his “brother” in spirit.
I wouldn’t want any actor to bear the responsibility and wrath of the entire internet to try to “replace” Mr. Boseman. He was one of a kind. But another character with his same heroic attributes would be the next best thing, imo. MCU always has surprises up their sleeves and I believe they will quell most of our fears.
Trust Ryan Coogler!
I don’t believe TChalla should be Recast! Nobody can play this role better than Chadwick and it is what it is! I don know why people don’t get that you can’t just stick someone else in the Black Panther suit and say here be Black Panther. There are also parts where the actor doesn’t have that suit on as TChalla. We don’t need someone else to come and mess up this character. It’s not ablack or white thing it’s a common sense thing. I will be supporting this movie as will all my fam and friends and I’m sure other (true) Marvel fans!
It’s Marvel’s decision.
Get over yourselves.
Watch the movie and decide if you like it or not. Or don’t.
Just don’t ruin it for those that want to see it.
I really like the character of T’Challa. And there’s a lot of important story-telling left for that character. But I feel that recasting T’Challa is in poor taste, and THAT would be prioritizing Greed > Legacy. Disney makes so much more money off toys and merchandise than it does from getting butts in a movie theater. Boseman’s family will still get royalties from the movie, and they can choose to use that money in whatever way they please – be it for themselves or for charities.
Recasting T’Challa will require an actor who can (1) is willing to compromise their own creative impute to satisfy the anti-recast fan and (2) give a performance that not only matches Boseman’s performance, but exceeds it. Considering almost every top-tier black actor is already in BP, there’s very few options for a recast.. Mahershala Ali would have been amazing, but he’s already working on providing a new Blade (and he’s feeling tremendous personal pressure on trying to give us a Blade that respects Wesley Snipes’ from 20 years ago).
I don’t know when we’ll be ready for a new T’Challa, but I really hope they keep the animated version alive for all the kids out there.
Yeah, I mean not recasting T’Challa, simply because Chadwick Boseman died isn’t a good idea. Not to mention, Rhodey was recast from Terrence Howard to Don Cheadle, so how is this any different?
Besides, if anything needs boycotting its that stupid Civil War movie, because it promoted hatemongering on such a subtle level.
The T’Challa played by Chadwick Bozeman can be replaced by a variant from another universe .
That would be a good way to do this . Have a T’Challa from an alternate Universe get stuck here .
Either way I’ll see the movie .
I’m obviously not the intended audience for this article, because I am thoroughly confused as to what the “controversy” is even about. Might want to translate things for us lay folk if publishing to a mass audience.
I have always believed that the role should be recast. I even believe the actor Atandwa Kani who played young King T’Chaka in the first movie should be the actor recast to play him. No disrespect at all to Chadwick Boseman may God grant him rest. But the character of Black Panther should live on. Like Superman, Batman, Spider-Man and others. #RecastT’Challa
Cry Me a river. t’challa’s sister shuri it’s a black panther in the comics and more than capable of taking over the role. I don’t know why everybody is whining. I guess it’s not going to please everybody.
T’Challa was the first black superhero for Marvel and you want to kill off a piece of black history? How white of you. For the record Chadwick would support recasting and his family supports recasting
When I initially heard they weren’t recasting I though what a silly. Even more silly was pretending this was the first black superhero on film/tv. I’m sure Disney promoted and played into that propaganda to just make more money meanwhile I bet ol’ Wesley Snipes was sitting there wondering how everyone forgot about him. I bet Mike Colter (Luke Cage) had to be a lil put off by that as well. Like all their great performances didn’t count or something🙄 I guess too late now Marvel
Hell naw nobody’s boycotting black panther 2 f*** what y’all are talking about this is for Chadwick like f*** your boycott black panther 2.
WAKANDA FOREVER
MUTHF*****.
I think they honor T’Challa and his death. Seeing the small glimpse of the ‘Black Panther’ at the end of the trailer leads me to believe Nakia or Okoye will become the next Black Panther. I will watch the movie myself too see. Iron Man is dead. I don’t think the Black Panther is.
Every time I turn around there’s a new Spiderman, Superman, or Batman. Why can’t someone else play TChalla? I’m sure Chadwick would appreciate the sentiment of retiring the character because of his untimely passing, but I believe he would rather keep him alive. Isn’t it more important to keep the Black Panther alive for future generations? Isn’t it better to give little brown kids a superhero of their own to look up to?
This is not just a black thing. White people, Asian, Indian, we all Love black panther and Chadwick. If you watch the preview again you’ll notice a WOMAN in the costume. Definitely should have recast instead of bringing real life trauma on the screen.
If you know the story you know that black panther is a role that passes along. Boseman’s passing fits into the mold of the next in line picking up the mantle. It’s sad, but completely in line.
When Christopher Reeves was injured and could no longer play superman, the role was eventually recast and other actors took on the role. Superman is a much more known and historic character than black panther, and yet he was recast when the first guy in our modern times a special facts was no longer able to carry the mantle in movies. It does seem waste totally remove a major character in marvel comics because the actor who played him so well has died. It’s a weird decision that doesn’t happen in other places and I wonder if over time, they will change their mind about it. We are just too close to the death of Chadwick boseman right now to realize that the character should go on without him. Black panther existed a long long time before Chadwick boseman ever played him.
Dawg I seriously can’t understand how butthurt some people be, yall didn’t make the movie, yall didn’t play the role, you simply observe. Not only is it one of kind, yeah if Peter Parker or batman died they would be replaced, they have the money and people too, but this is them showing true love, showing they can’t and shouldn’t replace Chadwick, he was the actor that made the movie whole. Along with that, as people who actually care know and have pointed out, it fits into the story of the Black panther anyways, even though it’s Wakanda Forever, they aren’t, nor are we immortal.
Just stating the obvious, anytime a black man is shown in a positive light free of the white man’s opinion it is a threat to racist white male fragility. This whole matter is a text book example of how black people fit in a white narrative. Mediocre white men must always tell black people how to be black. This is done on purpose to have the excuse not to produce any black centric MCU going forward.
All they want to do is honor Chad Wick Boseman in the way he should be honored. They can do it like a soap opera, his family thinks he’s dead but he’s really not and he comes back from the dead being trapped in a hole or something. IJS let these people do what they do. Black Panther the character will never be forgotten.
Just another example of the overwntitled fans that exist today.
They don’t have any clue what the new movie holds or what direction the story will take but they are still yelling to the skies about being wronged in some way.
Let the director make his movie. He knows the material better than you and has a vision.
007 was never killed off. And several of those guys have died. Just saying… Disney was looking for a good reason to double down on female protagonists, and capitalize on Boseman’s death.
This is just my perspective…This has perfect timing in fitting the narrative of the feminist agenda we’ve all seen taking place within the past six years in television and film. African American women have now been tagged with the assist into the ring with this film and ‘The Woman King’s soon to be released.
If anyone has kept up this is now much more than one universe so the next black panther isn’t from 616 he’s from another universe hence no recast because it’s not the same black panther that was in universe 616 keep up people
One solo movie!!! It’s called Black Panther, Comic book fans want to see the hero. Recast Tchalla and scrap this movie. If you don’t scrap it Atleast take black panther off it and call just call it Wakanda. The actors have an expiration on these characters stop making this about color. Christopher Reeves couldn’t play Superman forever, Toby Couldn’t do Spider-Man for 20 years. Change the name or scrap the movie. I want to see the king not move on to what should of been the 4th movie that being someone else takes the mantle
When I heard that T’Challa would not be recast, I thought that meant they would use CGI to keep Chadwick Boseman’s image, at least, still portraying Black Panther. Maybe have him wearing the mask for more of the movie’s duration, like how Bruce Lee’s character in Game of Death wore the motorcycle helmet through half the movie. The idea of killing off the characters in the MCU is just ridiculous.
Everytime black ppl try to have something good, here come OTHERS trying to put a damper on it, always trying to put it in ways that blacks are doing something negative I don’t believe it and there is no way I’m gonna boycott this movie, so KICK ROCKS
I am neither Black nor particularly fond of superhero films. But Chadwick Boseman’s performance brought depth and complexity to the role in a way few actors could have matched. My admiration for the man is heightened by the knowledgeable that he was very ill while making the movie, yet conveyed such strength, calm, and dignity throughout. I would not want to be the actor who would have to fill his shoes. But I suspect his brother was right: The actor knew that the role was bigger than the man; and the man was very big, indeed
The comparison of pattinson-batman or holland-spiderman is very very very ignorant. Those comicbook characters have been well-known even before being shown in the cinema. THE CHARACTER MADE THE ACTOR FAMOUS NOT THE ACTOR MAKING THE CHARACTER FAMOUS.
Among the millions around the world who watched the first Black Panther movie, who knows the character very well? Who even buy and read his comics before? Boseman made black panther famous and Marvel appreciate and honor that.
Or maybe the sexist American men are afraid that the next Black Panther is a woman? You tried this tactic before Captain Marvel was shown in public but it was still a hit in the box office
Why not handle it the same way the comics did? T’challa died without an heir, so his sister, Shuri became queen of Wakanda, and the new Black Panther. It’s a natural and organic story development that respects the source material and the actor.
So tell us you didn’t watch the trailer without telling us you didn’t WATCH THE TRAILER
All yall yelling when yall don’t know if Tchalla was recasted or not. FYI if you watched the whole trailer then you would have seen a black panther at the end of the trailer. Now what does this mean or who it is or anything is yet to be seen. But yall jumping to much conclusions. Calm down
So many people freaking out over a trailer. I think the trailer looked beautiful and intriguing. I am interested to see how it plays out. And for all anyone knows T’challa is still alive. You know how many times characters die in Marvel films and they are back a few movies later? Or even later in the film? Like in Black Panther. Also, it isn’t too far out of the ordinary for them to recast a character. They did that with Tony Stark’s dad and with the guy who plays War Machine. He was a different actor in the first Iron Man. He was a lot more handsome originally.
People die characters die Hollywood is Hollywood they put up the money! for those who don’t wanna see it you don’t have too! That is yourright to not see it (For those who do I say enjoy it) That is what we call freedom in this country we are getting too carried away with trying to make everybody fit into one box think about it people and not everything is about race it is usually about money right!🙌
I personally need time to move on. I can’t accept anyone else playing the role of T’Challa. No one will be good enough to replace Chadwick Boseman… not yet.
Yes, recast the role, in 10 years time. Not now. I think the funeral procession in the trailer is a beautiful Tribute.
Also, Marvel Universe believes in the Multi Verse. In this Universe, T’Challa passed away. We can always have another Universe with a new T’Challa.
This is not a racial issue; if they had cancelled BP2 y’all would be saying that Chadwick would have wanted the movie to be made no matter the choice for his character. If they had recast him y’all would be saying that it was wrong to not acknowledge that Chadwick died. They made the movie and are profiting off of his death. You wouldn’t be happy either way.
Though the story is not yet revealed fully, I believe T’Challa will be recasted soon to follow after the movie. To give time to look for a fitting Character artist for T’Challa. Unless the movie reveals that its final and never will “resurrect” T’Challa is surely choatic. But I just hope that it would be other wise that the real black panther would appear soon on the upcoming sequel.
Why is it that everyone thinks that this is the first black mcu hero on screen when blade paved the road for All the mcu movies. Its a slap in the face to the first true starter of the series
Maybe recast the lead as a white person the opposite has become the Hollywood norm, remaking/rebooting sitcoms with black actors some things don’t need remade these writer’s get paid huge amounts of money and can’t come up with new ideas, honestly black panther was garbage just like the latest batman I’m all for equality but seriously stop replacing normally white roles with black’s just to be PC
Black people are never, ever going to be happy in life. Replace him and it is racist. Dont replace him and it is racist. That’s all black people know how to do, is pull the race card. They cannot and will not ever jist lead happy lives in the modern world because they think theyre better than everyone and that white people owe them.
I don’t understand why this is an issue now after the movie has been made. Everyone knew for years now that Chadwick wasn’t going to be recast. Now people are throwing down as if Disney is going to say ‘oh OK we are just going to scrap this entire movie and redo it’. Come on really
At first, I was a part of the do not recast opinion. No one can play T Challa the Chadwick did. However, Black Panther was the 1st superhero our black boys could look up to and feel pride in. With the world continously putting black men in stereotypical roles. Not only our boys but our girls to need to see a strong positive black man caring and fighting for his family and his people. #recastBlack Panther
So it’s not ALL black ppl cause when this movie come out I’m first to buy the ticket like wat are y’all talking about and where did tom holland come from 🧍🏽
I agree with the recasting of T’Challa! I was filled with pride to see our people all over the screen! Our children need to see positive images and storiesof themselves and their greatness! It would be a beautiful honor and trubute to powerful and great actor gone too soon. ❤️
I agree. This is some other ppl with fake outrage “for” us. Listen, there are roles which employ several different actors, Batman, Spiderman, Superman, and that’s okay FOR THOSE ROLES. We are going to support this movie with all our heart and soul, just like we did with the 1st one. Just like Steve passed down the mantle, we are intelligent enough to accept a passing down of the Panther without a recast. I bet these are the same folks who couldn’t accept Sam Wilson as the new Captain America too, SMH. #WAKANDAFOREVER
If those who follow the comics should know…Black Panther was replaced with someone else…his sister!! I agree that Chadwick is and was the true Black Panther and I will not boycott Wakanda forever!!
No, 3 different actors have played 3 different SpiderMen, not the same SpiderMan. There is a difference. No one was “re-cast”. So when Marvel says that they will never have another Black Panther from another part of the Multiverse, then what you’re saying will be true. Until then, how about honoring Chadwick by not spreading baseless lies about his character?
What about honor Chadwick Boseman by respecting his family. Listen to their opinion not the studio, not the fans, not any movements or anyone trying to push for one thing or another. They know him best and what he would have wanted and what they feel is the best. Not what everyone else thinks. Everyone wants to say their opinion and wants people to listen to them. But we all should listen more and talk less.
I don’t think that they should kill off the character and I don’t think that Chad would have want this either. The Black Panther is global hero he’s represents way more than just a comic book hero he is in fact a symbol of I would think all black nations especially that of African people since thats where Wankonda exist a country where life is very hard. Regardless of the death of Chad which gave the character life beyond our dreams he would definitely want to past the mantle on to the next deserving Black Panther. I can think of so many black actors that would consider it a honour to portray this character. I think at this point that MCU would definitely want the some how in the end of Wankonda movie bring the Black Panther back to life if not your going to have a very disappointed fans!!!!
Chadwick Boseman was sick & tired of being Black Panther. He was, after all, an actor. A young actor who was being mentored by Denzel Washington who, in his entire career never played a superhero. The issue was people making Chadwick, Black Panther. His face whenever he threw up the X was priceless after a while. Because look what they did! Using this man’s real life tragedy & putting it in a Marvel movie? On top of that – no women no cry isn’t an African song so confused on why it was used instead of original music like Black Panther. These people don’t know how to treat Black people. Because – you think the family is getting ONE DIME off Black Panther 2 when Chadwick is in the ground? Think again. Also, black brothers attacking & killing each other, written by a white man – same story as The Harder They Fall & every white written story about Black people. They just want to put in the media – we would kill our own brother. This makes it OK when cops ‘fear for their lives’ because we’ve seen it 1000 times- Black men will kill their own family! They won’t think twice about killing strangers. Let Chadwick – who never murdered anyone, let alone his own brother, rest in PEACE! He’s not Black Panther! He was a phenomenal actor & should be remembered as such.
How many people played Spiderman? One. Just One. Tom Holland. As explained by an entire recent movie, Every other spiderman were NOT the same Spiderman, but different multiverse versions. No one said that there would not be alternate Black Panthers from other universes at some point.
Going back to animated series and video gakes, dozens have played parker. Disnee saying their stuff is all that counts does not erase the work of those actors
We have some folks who have not looked into the history of the Black Panther. There have been numerous Black Panthers, including his sister Shuri. She has held the mantle numerous times, just like her brother. If people knew that comic history, they may have realized that this could be a setup, Shuri will wear it for now, her brother will come back, and take back over. Then when he disappears again, she takes it over again.
Samia need to go get a life. And I really do believe this is not being pushed by black people, unless it’s black people who don’t know the history of the comic character that they supposedly love.
Honestly they shouldn’t recast The original Black Panther, why can’t they work Winston Duke (M’BAKU) into the story line to be the next King
The next Black Panther! Why can’t the torch be passed to him??
Yea im not boycotting nothing I at least want to see it this wasn’t no black people being ijs if it was they some footsie dint ger nothing other then slave or trauma movies as is
The actor playing a role died, but why does the character the actor played needs to die as well? All for someone else taking the mantle of Black Panther(I hope it’s Shuri), but that doesn’t require King T’Challa dying. It doesn’t have to be an “either or”.
“God forbid…but if Tom Holland died today, they would NOT kill off Peter Parker. If Robert Pattinson died, they would not stop casting people to play Bruce Wayne.”
1) They LITERALLY just had a movie explaining the different recastings of SpiderMan were not “re-castings” but alternate versions from the multiverse. So yes, they WOULD kill off Peter Parker. In fact, They killed off Professor X AND BROUGHT HIM BACK AS THE SAME ACTOR IN A DIFFERENT VERSION. 2) If you don’t realize Batman is not a Marvel property, you shouldn’t be speaking.
Yes, there have many roles recast. Frankly I didn’t agree with it then. But try to look at it this way: Chadwick played the role so well, he became that person to a higher degree than others might have. And if you understand how the kings pass over their title, how Black Panthers become Black Panther, then you understand the new person to carry that title doesn’t have to have the same name. They still become the new Black Panther. This will be difficult no matter what because whether they go by the same name or not, they ARE NOT CHADWICK. So it’s going to be hard. I believe that when people transcend in a certain way, it should be left alone. I’m an old Star Trek fan, and cannot watch new people portraying characters I have literally had around me for over 50yrs.I believe they deserve that from me. Those actors I got to meet and know. Chadwick deserves this for not only his portrayal, but the dignity he earned in how he died. I will always admire him.
If anyone knows anything about the comics then they should know that the black panther title eventually goes to his sister Shuri so I don’t get the big deal.
This articles was crazy long an you just rambled on about stuff we know already.. And why would we boycott that’s so stupid it’s crazy I see trump folks must be haten…NOPE IM GOING TO THE THEATER
Just like Superman, Batman, Spiderman and so on has had many faces, do the same for Black Panther..let him live on and continue to be a role model for all the kids and some grown ups also.. #WaKanda forever
Hell no. Ya’ll gotta stop making such a big deal about these random ass bs tweets. These don’t speak for majority of the fans. Ya’ll should just get off twitter for good and go to reddit or something.
Is this what blogging is now? Rehashing some movie history and then copying tweets and then embedding them? It’s just a twitter stream with an introduction.
The problem with comparing this to Spiderman or Batman (or Superman, for that matter), is that those characters were recast for what were (and are, in the case of Batman and Superman and until recently Spiderman) completely NEW stories and arcs. If Black Panther gets a reboot in a decade, then yes, recasting makes sense. Chris Nolan had ONE Batman for his trilogy, he didn’t recast Joker after Heath Ledger’s death.
I agree with other commenters, this has to be non-Black fans behind this. Also, no one should be speaking on behalf of the dead. We will never know his opinion because we can’t ask him. And you’re telling me, with what we know of Chadwick Boseman, that he wouldn’t be more thrilled at the opportunity this gives the returning Black women in the cast and new Black cast members to shine and further establish their own legacies? If the Black Panther is given to a Black woman, that will be HUGE.
These people sound like they can only remember one Black man’s face at a time while simultaneously knowing all the differences in wrinkles between the Chrises.
How many people played Batman? Superman? Spider Man? Do they all give the same charisma as the other stars who played the same role? It’s not about who gave charisma to the character rather it’s about keeping the character alive.
Fans are not boycotting only lazy slacktavists are because they werent going to ho anyway. And when the media and these fake journalists say this the movie makes 1bil. Because they are out of touch and are just shills at the end of the day.
One thing is for certain. The media has got black people so confused to the point that they will never completely be happy on anything, but always be divided to keep them down. Wake up! You’re better than this.
I’m just gonna leave this here… in the comics Shuri takes over as black panther after a fight with Doom nearly kills T’challa. Shuri gets tired of living in the shadow of men and decides to do it herself.
This is a walking plot hole. T’Challa is the King of the dead & also since we are dealing with the multiverse & @ 1 time having three Peter Parkers, how is it we have zero T’Challas as Black Panther? Disney u have a problem A Black Male like T’Challa being a King on screen, u need 2 clean this mess up.
Recasting T’Challa with another actor would remove the memory of Chadwick Boseman for just a another character. Black Panther can live on with another character, but grant Chadwick the honour of being the one T’Challa.
I think he should have been recasted because black people need their super hero’s to continue due to rare ethic characters. Our children need to beable to have heros that they can relate too. Caucasian children always have another super hero after one is discontinued. Someone needs to level the playing field , not put it to rest. Besides your inferring that there’s not any other talented black actor that could fill the roll. Again your limiting not only our potential, but our creativity. Allow us some say. We are the ones that help to create the success which you were provided with . Chadwick was about giving others the same opportunity which he himself experienced. To end the black panther is to put a end to Chadwick. No difference. He would want this I am sure. A mere painted mural is not a honor. It’s a slap in the face. I would have rather waited until you found a new king Tachaka. Than you to think about doing a rush job , not taking the ideas of others. Please reconsider. Thank you!
Actually I’ve changed my mind about what I posted above. With his passing, I think it’s best to honor him by getting rid of all black superheroes. Not just in Marvel movies but DC and other franchises. I say this completely out of love and respect. No more black superheroes!!! #UncastAllBlackPeople #InEverything #JustToBeSafe #TheyCantBeExtrasEither #OnlyJanitorsOffscreen

Uh huh, if they’d recast the character then people would throw a fit about it’s respecting Boseman’s legacy. You can’t win no matter what with these people who I think are unaware that like every comic book superhero has died like 50 times each.
Also the absolute audacity to say “he would’ve wanted the part recast.” You don’t know him. You cannot speak for him. And the man knew he had cancer and might die. Seems like he would’ve made a statement either way about it if he cared.
We’re just ignoring that the lead actress is a bitc4, though?
There was a good and bad in everything if look hard enough
The Bible just an example
We can either honor the man or not but let’s not profit off of his death
Whether kill character off or not
Just sincerely honor the man and his accomplishments
Way 1. They use a digital full head mask of T’Challa(Chadwick Boseman) like what they briefly did with Tony Stark(Robert Downey Jr) in Iron Man 3 when the actor was injured
Way 2. They completely recast the character like they did with Terrence Howard’s character from Iron Man 2 and onwards (don’t know if anyone noticed but Don Cheadle was his replacement.)
Alternatively if they don’t want to BREAK their universe and proceed in universe then they could work on strengthening the political infrastructure of Wakanda by having a vice panther and an overall line of succession. The Black Panther isn’t just a superhero after all it is also political position and there should be a line of succession for it should any in the position fall. My votes for either of his sisters yo take the mantel in lieu of an of age male heir.
You can’t give Black people anything. We always bring the drama so that what we get amd do becomes less appealing so that we end up in the end with nothing. White people can put ANYTHING on TV, and they end up getting everything on TV. But Black people, especially those who haven’t done anything, judge what other Black people are doing, and our TV shows get shut down, not because of anyone else but the Black people. Everybody else knows how to help each other up. Then the ones helped up can help bring up the ones still down. Even the darn Ku Klux Klan know how to help each other. Ain’t that crazy. But Black people are professional at tearing down each other. No other MCU movie is being boycotted except for Wakanda Forever, and that drama is from Black people. Until a week or 2 ago, Black Panther was the highest rated MCU property, and, as a Black man, I have been VERY PROUD of that. I am still VERY PROUD of they hype that we created all over social media for the Black Panther movie before it came out, and all the comraderie we had with each other the day the movie came out. Until this very day, I have never seen so many people in a movie theater as I saw that day. And we were celebrating with dances and songs in the theater. We made a positive statement together that will always stick, and an all Black cast made Cinematic history. And that created opportunities. Short-sightedness is about to ruin another opportunity because we want to bring drama with the next one, and lower Box Office numbers with boycotts. Later, we will, one way or the other, blame what we don’t have on white people, BUT IT’S US THAT’S DOING IT! No other MCU property is the cause of a boycott, only the one with the all Black cast and the potential to make Cinematic history again. I’ll bet you that Boseman wouldn’t have been down for that at all.
It’s not about how many black panthers it was. Chad played a amazing role in the movie black Panther and I don’t think no one can do a better job then him. I think the character black Panther should rest. Some movies can’t be recasted.
That’s like saying recast Scarface with Al Pacino you can’t do it. Sometimes you just have to let Greatness Rest.
Kill off Tchalla and then cast someone else to take his place. There has been different people who were black panther so anyone making a deal about this clearly never read a single comic in their life.
Heath ledger gave one of the most amazing performances as the joker now if the jokers character had died because ledger did when Phoenix was up for the roll as the joker in the joker movie it would have never become one of the most amazing movies of all time at least in my book
God, people can’t be pleased. After his death everyone was adamant on NOT recasting him. Now that that haven’t everyone is mad that they DIDN’T recast him. It just seems like the typical offended world again. Plus bringing race into a discussion about recasting a character? Come on.
I think Black Panther should definitely be recast so they can do more with the story and stay more true to the legends in the comics. There’s really no reason to not. There’s so many talented people out there. Surely somebody could carry on the legacy.
Considering the fact that everything points to Shuri taking up the mantle, I don’t know what everyone is losing their bananas about. Calm down everyone.
T’challa probably should and will be recast eventually but I think it will be down the line a bit, probably in the secret wars movie. The new actor playing T’challa would just be considered a variant of the character.
Anyone screaming boycott Black Panther is suspect to me. So punish the all minority cast, Black director and cast a shadow over the most decorated and most successful Black films in history bc you can’t have your way. Anyone who follows the comics knows that Suri eventually becomes Black Panther anyway. MCU killed off several characters including Ironman to make way for Iron heart. So stop being so obtuse and juvenile. You stay home in November while the rest of us celebrate the sequel and rejoice in the inclusion of the Latin community and the rest of the world. Yall mad stay mad.
So apparently, these fans that want a boycott already watched the film and saw that nobody takes the mantle of black panther, or they say the 2-3 mins trailer and thought that was it ( because they will reveal everything to you in such a short trailer )
If you havent’ seen it, then stfu and sit your ass down and stop complaining. There’s no way of knowing, what happens and even as a character, he was human ( granted they have technological advances), but he is still subjected to dying of old age or through other means ( look at tony stark)
LET ME START BY SAYING IM NOT BLACK….. SO I WILL NOT AND CANNOT GET INTO THE BLACK POLITICS OF THIS DEBATE OVER RECASTING BLACK PANTHER, WITH THAT SAID, I AM A MARVEL SUPER NERD AND AN AVID MARVEL KNOW IT ALL AND I JUST HAVE ONE VIEW TO THIS… MARVEL WILL NOT STOP THE RECASTING OF CAPTAIN AMERICA WHEN STEVE RODGERS AGED, THEY DIDNT BAT AN EYE OVER RECASTING THE INCREDIBLE HULK, BECAUSE MARK WAS DEFINITELY NOT THE FIRST CHOICE TO PLAY THE CHARACTER. MY POINT IS CHADWICK PASSED AND THIS IS A TERRIBLE TRAGEDY. HE WAS TAKEN FROM US FAR TO SOON, BUT AS HIS FAMILY SAID ( THE SHOW MUST GO ON)… SO RECAST THE BLACK PANTHER AS OTHER MARVEL SUPERHEROES HAVE AND EVENTUALLY WILL BE.
What no one understands is that even with the horrible loss of Chadwick Bozeman, it is their movie to make. It’s their story that is being told. When the first Spider-Man actor was recast his did you react?
And then we got the current actor. I loved Chadwick Bozeman as Black Panther, and I’m looking forward to the new one……as long as they don’t say oh now the character will played by a white guy. That would be a slap in the face!
Does anyone else remember, for MONTHS after Chadwick Boseman died, when people started an online campaign threatening to boycott Marvel if they DID recast him? And then, like, the INSTANT they said, “Okay, we won’t,” all those same people immediately flipped out and threatened to boycott if they DIDN’T recast him and suddenly cared about what his family guessed he would want? And now, they’re all acting like it’s fresh news again and making a billion wild assumptions based on a *teaser* trailer which provides almost no information about the actual movie, acting furious over Marvel even mentioning the man they originally demanded be honored and not recast, and telling everyone what, “real fans,” would do—ironically displaying that they have no idea about what happens in the actual comics..
I think a very good point was made in this article. If Robert Downy Jr had passed away during filming of avengers they would have recasted him. Just because Chadwick did so well as Black Panther does not mean someone else couldn’t . Are we not going to watch Blade because Wesley Snipes is not playing that role going forward? I think it’s simply because Disney see a chance to recast as BP as a black woman .. I have nothing against that except that we just got Black Panther.. So where are our Super powered Black male heros now? 0.. Falcon and war machine are not super powered But we have Valkyrie, Monica Rambo, and soon Black panther.. all black females..
I will be supporting Wakanda Forever. I like the way the film honored Chadwick Boseman and whomever the new black panther is, I’m hoping will do the suit justice. All this bs about killing off T’ Challa is just hate that a real man’s honor is being carried over into fiction. Would it be this much drama if it had been someone else?
Hi…I was glad to see M’Baku speak to viewers as trailer for “Wakanda Forever” was unveiled. It is fitting— for he is of the Royal Family tradition in Wakanda–and, I feel, it is from this vantage point to continue/begin the Sequel! We fans want THE LEGACY TO CONTINUE so here is my suggestion…
I , and we, want —memories to savor…scenes of the King’s life that will be upfull and respectful. Don’t just show a flat billboard poster to his memory— how one-dimensioal and impersonal! But how ’bout showing how King T’Challa was saved by M’Baku’s tribe (as we already know) through adding a new character, a Queen maybe M’Baku’s mom who turns out to be the Sister to King T’Challa’s mother!!! And they both reminisce about a young T’Challa, thereby giving more details how ‘this Queen saved her nephew!’ And then the scene turns ” cloudy & misty” to memories of T’Challa as a young boy frolicking with the Queen Auntie & his own Queen Mother and other royal children. Like a Pre-quel where we get further “live ” moments of our King. Then the M’Baku Queen Mother will go into like a trance telling her sis Queen T’Challa’s mother: ” I see death in his future!” This is a way to respectfully blend REAL LIFE with FANTASY. Now as the movie plot can segway into battle for the throne–or something with action of course 🙂 Let there be therefore a NEW Black Panther King who wins and we can have it both ways– more scenes/memories of King T’Challa Chadwick Boseman in a prequel and because of the prophecy
(respectful to real life events) understand that his life will be cut short. WAKANDA FOREVER WILL LIVE ON!!!!!!! We have real life young Kings to nurture which should be done in a joyful manner!!!
P.S. Has anyone of you met a living Black Panther Royal from Africa? Could this be a true fact?

I REFUSE TO BELIEVE MY BLACK PEOPLE ARE BEHIND THIS NONSENSE!! IF MCU LOVE AND WANT TO CELEBRATE HIS LIFE AND LEGACY THIS WAY THEN LET IT BE! IF ANYONE KNOWS ABOUT THE BLACK PANTHER COMICS,THERE ARE MORE THAN ONE BLACK PANTHER!! THIS IS BEYOND RIDICULOUS! I’M HERE FOR WAKANDA FOREVER!
Lexi
I don’t think it’s Black people behind this at all. I will be supporting this movie❤️

Many Batman’s , many Black Panthers , let there be Mythic Heroes let art inspire us to greater realities than the evil reflected in our mundane social biases
Nana Asare Nova
T’Challa will be back. I’m a long time Comicbook head. There will be more films, there will be more comics. T’Challa was alive before any film was conceived. He lives in our hearts and our minds. Love Chadwick as T’Challa. There will be another that will reprise this role. Let’s not be reactive, let’s honor our brother with this film and move to the Future. T’Challawill be played by another. Sooner rather than later.

Vp of Marvel Nate Moore said they are NEVER recasting T’Challa
LeniLikeKravitz
Looks pretty coo&seems to be a perfect intro for the “new.” Not replacement… Everybody is so sensitive, these days, Cheese!!! I am very much so, interested in peeping game… SafeJourney, Yall✌🏽

I’m a black man and I’m a comic book geek, I support the boycott.. When Shuri Became the Black Panther she was a grown woman and she wasn’t even the Black Panthet for long… It looks like The MCU are pandering again.
Mickele
Honestly thought his sister was suppose to step up. Has no one read any comics before?
Mason
Not to mention many Superman’s or is it supermen many Wonder Woman’s , many spider man’s ,many green lanterns, and many hulks
Michael
All of you need to get back to reality. You know it’s a movie, right? Entertainment. OMG. Lol
John
If they are just movies why are they all littered with agendas and propagandas? These are stories beloved by many. If you have agendas, be creative and sneak them in your own stories. Don’t mess ruin what has already established a legacy.
Lee marshe
Jack Kirby and Stan Lee the creators of the black panther, didn’t back in the 60’s create him to be a black superhero,he was a superhero who just happened to be black, nothing more or less. I’m amused by all the hype,in my 60 yrs of reading comics and SF,I have ran across many heroes of color,Zula from Conan,Gabe jones from Nick fury and al Harper from the silver surfer. BUT did they kill the character of Sherlock Holmes, just because Basil Rathbone died, of course not.
yaJ
Fun fact; Shuri becomes Black Panther in the comics. Much says she will in the movies… and you know what? That makes sense and is Not exploiting anyones death but simply puts a puzzlepiece in order. Rip Chadwick but having Shuri as Black Panther now or eventually is canon either way.
Gerry
I agree. If tchLla can die it’s definitely time to kill if Peter Parker and Bruce waYne.
Who needs them anyway.
😂😂😂😂
Toni Williams
Loved Chadwick Bosman as an actor, but I truly believe that they should recast Black Panther.
Robert D Peterson
Any real fan would settle for nothing less than recasting T’Challa! Kill off the only prominent black male hero…??? No! Anyone black knows full well the black trauma games played by Hollywood, and playing black women against black men.
KL
The only prominent Black male hero? Anthony Mackie would beg to differ.
Chris
True. But what’s wrong with a recast?
Jane
I agree with the fact that everyone would be mad and boycott anyways if they didn’t like the actor who replaced him. They can’t win either way.
JD
👆 This.

Blade was the first black led marvel movie and saved the studio
Michael Patton
Blade didn’t save anything. Read up on the history instead of spouting off crap
Darius
So when Chadwick died. I remember seeing from black ppl not to recast. That’ll be disrespectful they need to retire the character. Now ima say it yall gotta get out the MCU with your real world stuff. You’re wanting this to take yall out the real world but as soon as something that needs to be done to progress the story for marvel there’s problems.
Colleen McAllister
I agree. There are more black superheroes. But there was only ONE Chadwick Boseman. Don’t recast T’Challa. Find a new Black Panther.
Kim
WWill
T’Challa was the first black superhero for Marvel and you want to kill off a piece of black history? How white of you. For the record Chadwick would support recasting and his family supports recasting
Dee
I will still go see the movie. Its a movie for goodness sakes. I love it. All they had to do is let Lupita get pregnant & boom T’Chala Junior is born. Then a legacy begins….
Ps
No one ask for him to dawn the stars and stripes.
One of the top execs at Disney, who happens to be black, even said he hasn’t earned the shield yet even after having his own series. How disrespectful. Wake up and take the emotion out of it. T’Challa is greater than Chad and the family understands that. They are profiting off of his death.
Jerome
VS
T’Challa should be recast but in keeping with the storyline. T’Challa became the Black Panther b/c his father died. T’Challa has passed, now a new Panther must be selected. The question is: Who & how are they chosen?
Louise
In the comics, Shuri takes over for a while and then T’Challa’s son takes up the mantle when he’s old enough
CCho
Pat Bryant
I believe he should have been recast so that Waconda could have continued. I haven’t seen the new one but to kill off the royal family or that their home is destroyed is not good at all.
E
Definitely the last part.

Thank you

As a black .an I Totally disagree. Also, this is a movie, my focus is real life. REALITY Forever!
Sriv
A real Black Panther fan would know that there was more than one Black Panther in the Marvel universe. Black Panther was one of Stan Lee’s favorite characters. This character has been around for ages. Read the comics and you will learn about the Black Panther story. The character was around way before the movie.
Shaggylady40
Yes recast T’Challa. You would recast any other cast member if they passed. Superman was recast. They have found new Batman’s almost every film.
Carli
Julio Figueroa
Different studios? So you haven’t seen the Spiderman recasts? Didn’t see the Bruce Banner one either? Hulk wasn’t a different story arc as they are even using the same actor to continue playing Abomination.
Jamie Soloman
Please do your research before commenting. Sony did Spider-Man (2002) and The Amazing Spiderman films while Marvel did MCU Spider-Man films. Two different studios. Also they didn’t “recast” Spider-Man, they just rebooted the series and couldn’t use either Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield because both were too old to play a high school kid. Second, both the Hulk and War Machine recasts were because of controversy that the actors got caught up in rather than the actors passing away. Two completely different situations.
DS

Danny
Spiderman hasn’t been recast, just rebooted. Recasting Hulk was due to poor reception of the first movie and difficulty of the actor.
Only true recent comparison that comes to mind for me is Paul Walker. I’ve never heard anyone say Brian should still be in F&F movies
Kharique Merritt
U missing the point …the characters don’t die of the actor does wtf …this is meaningful to young black and brown kids who have not had a hero to represent them
But u see this as fine ..smh
Julius
Your comment only disrespect, i would say, all black characters that exist! T‘Challa isn‘t the only black „hero“ to represent black children/people. Alone for Marvel i know 6 and there are also Star Trek, Doctor who, DC, Star Wars, …

The Hulk recast isn’t the same thing. Edward Norton didn’t die
Marvel only replaced Edward Norton because he wanted the same money as Robert Downey Jr for Avengers and Marvel told him no
Shawnysoothe@gmail.com
Chadwick Bowman was a talented actor and seemed to be a sinceraly decent person. He will be missed. Let’s just enjoy the movies he did make. And enjoy the many other cast members talents who contributed to the Wakanda Forever Black Panther 2 project ❤️

Okay, so let me get this straight. You would be cool if your employer put together a memorial for you if you died (against your family’s wishes) and then thay charged $15 to attend said “memorial”..?

And every superman after Christopher Reeves suck. Sales was not as great.
FallonSavage
Yes they recacs the Superman. I feel like Black Panther was such a strong character not only for the black community but for all of us how love can bring us together. Allowing him to go down in history just as that our hero! That is not an injustice. Young children will be able to look at him for years to come and know that there was no replacing that fantastic great black man!
J MASTER
And all the Batman’s suck, Let it be, people… Chadwick Bozeman was a GREAT T’Challa, we all must move on. And in no way is marvel profiting off of his death, it’s a story, make believe, so go ahead and make believe! Also… Maybe you should actually watch the movie before you comment on it. All you’ve seen so far is trailer.
J Ryan
There are plenty of stories in which T’Challa figures. His marriage to Storm connected him to the X-men. He and his wife were briefly part of the Fantastic Four. Would Marvel have simply dropped the character of Thor if Hemsworth had died? I’m sure they would have created an excuse for his absence and eventually recast the role. Why? It’s because some characters are important to the story. Just removing T’Challa gives the impression that his stories don’t matter so they can do without him.
Kharique Merritt
They are using this death to get people’s sympathy to go back ……when they lied and said they wouldn’t this is disrespectful like they do all black characters in movies ….look at the garage cgi budget they gave them after all the other movies …racism is in Hollywood …hollyweird I mean
What?
After his death, the mantle of Black Panther, not T’Challa, will be assumed by another strong, black character. Let the story continue.
Willie Beaman
Y’all are comparing recast of characters with completely different scenarios
Bruno
Exactly!!! Thank you!

DS9Yanks
Incorrect. Norton’s Hulk movie is indeed part of the MCU. Also Universal holds the movie rights to Hulk not Paramount.
Tanisha N Thomas

Marian
Agreed
Lawrence Scott
But T’Challa IS the one true Black Panther and the greatest of them all and he needs to be re-cast.

That’s your personal opinion. I don’t think he does as t’challa’s sister shuri is just fine and capable of taking over the role.

I agree. I cried for days when Chadwick died like he was my brother. I see it as an honor but people just want to complain about everything. Let his sister take up the mantle of Black Panther. Wakanda Forever. Chadwick will always be my king.

Pay attention people. They are killing off Black Panther character. So, out of sight out of mind. No more Black Panther movies.

No. It’s a title that has been passed down many times in the comics. The fact that 2 is still happening proves you wrong itself.
Jay
I can’t believe Black people like you are so naive. MCU is trying to profit off of Chadwicks death. Then killing off T Challah , now all of the young black boys who was a fan get to see him killed for the third time
Tony
First off the original Black panther never died in the comics we don’t want an alternate version of him we want the original they should request and honor him like Chadwick’s brother said recast or boycott.
Will
You clearly never read the comics cause 95 percent of the Black Panther stories revolves around T’Challa.
Francis Turner

Good point and he owned the role of the black panther, so why not his memory be celebrated and the power of the black panther be transferred to someone else to lead and protect WAKANDAS PEOPLE WAKANDA FOREVER
David Von Raesfeld

I don’t believe it either…we all know who’s really behind this bs…I’m going to support this movie to the fullest no matter what!
Vivi
Linebacker
Absolutely! They recast stars all the time! How many Batman, Supermen, Wonder Woman, Hulks, etc, have there been? Ridiculous! The show goes on.
Lisa
He has a sister, why can’t she take over as Queen of Wakanda? It is terrible he passed and he is an amazing Black Panther but we all know recast roles always have proponents for or against how each actor plays the role. We all have our favorite Batman or Spiderman actor and even the actor that didn’t live up to the role. They did also open up the whole multiverse so there are different heros in each different multiverse. So I am pretty sure Black Panther will show again, just not in the way we think and won’t necessarily be recast in the primary timeline.
Patrick
I totallybelu4ve it. Because this is the kind of short-sighted and stupid stuff that we do. We always do this to ourselves, then blame our deprivations on everybody else. White people act against black people, but black people make the white man’s work more complete with just as many rationalizations and justifications.
Shawn
There is not one Black Panther. It’s a a role past down over time for the most worthy protector of Wakanda. They have to kill of his Black Panther because he is no longer with us. Then they can rewrite how they passed the torch to the recanted characters for future movies.
Norman Anderson
This is BS. If Tom Holland were to tragically pass, they would recast spider man. They would NOT replace him with a woman. This movie is going to be the biggest box office bomb in the MCU.
Norman Anderson

Michael
Very suspicious how toxic this demanding is. This could easily be Astroturf. There is no right way to handle death. Marvel is walking away from franchise gold by not recasting. Marvel is about more than money. This is not a controversy. Boycotting the movie is a middle finger to the cast and crew who would have been in the alternate version. They were Chadwick’s peers. They are cool with this. Chadwick’s family is not the arbiter
Mechafx
I know there have been MCU recasts in the past (most notably with the roles of Banner/Hulk and Rhodes/War Machine) but Boseman absolutely dominated the role of T’Challa. He was the Black Panther and I don’t blame Feige for not wanting to recast that particular part. It is in honor and respect of Chadwick Boseman that this decision was made. People should equally respect that choice and move on. They should also take heed: you see what happened when they “recast” Han Solo in his Star Wars origin movie. Look how badly it went.
Chris
Disagree.Solo had decades of the memory of Harris Ford to deal with. Chadwick was a great T’Challa but even his brother said the role should be recast
Vivi
Well his brother isn’t Chadwick and Chadwick is not here to say how he really feels. We are and so are the people making the movie. Most of us don’t want T’Challa to be recast, Feige respected that, so he did basically what the majority of the fans wanted. Those “other fans” should respect that too.

Oh, this is entertainment at its finest. Black people are calling for a boycott of a black super hero that should a role model for them, because they won’t recast T’challa? Read the comics, Shuri takes over as black panther. People need to get lives
Robert D Peterson
Lol, she took over for a few books, and then writers realized people stopped buying the book, then quickly went back to the true king!
Chris
In the comic Shuri takes over after T’Challa is injured not killed. He comes back later.
Cory
Shuri came way many comics down the road. This is some b.s. This is a skao in Black men’s face to recast black panther with a female. Hollywood is ahain going woke and trying to put our women over us men. Symbolism at its finest.

It’s not just black people it white people to so stop.

He was created specifically to be a role model for Black Boys and T’Challa is Black Panther. No one wants Shuri as Black Panther

James
No one seems overly deterred by the differerent appearances of Bruce Banner/Hulk, Bruce Wayne/Batman, Peter Parker/Spider-man, James Rhodes/War Machine, or Clark Kent/Superman. Certainly not enough to no longer embrace the characters. There might be some debate as to who was best in the role (The many faces of James Bond). Chadwick Boseman was indeed iconic in the role of T’Challa, but it was also an iconic role that deserved to be continued.
No
All of those recasts were done across reboots. Except for Rhodes, but he was a minor side character.
Dad Prince
I am black Man raising three strong young black men. I want be seeing this movie. I agree with the article. This is not the right way to move forward with the Black Panther franchise. Marvel you missed it. T’Challa will not be given the chance to fully blossom.
JD
Actors are recast all the time. It is a common practice. To me, the fact that they chose to NOT recast the character, is more of a respectful gesture due to it’s rarity as an occurrence. They did not kill off T’Challa. They decided that T’Challa will not be recast so that Chadwick and his memory holds that Marvel Studios legacy exclusively.
That is, until a reboot long after the Feige era.
Renee
The trailer looks great! I don’t know who is talking about boycotting this movie! If they would’ve recast most people would complain about that! I’m going to go and see the movie and support the remaining and newer cast because the movie looks like a great deal of fun and excitement to be had by all!!
Jer
How about we watch the movie first , see how they honor or dishoner chadwick , then complain about it ??
Mr. Maze
Amen. But you know how folk are can’t wait to be the first to attack something. My family and I will be there on opening night. Didn’t Ryan Coogler write this story? I doubt he (or the other main actors) would exploit Chadwick’s memory for profit.
JC
This is why we can’t have nice things.
Brian
Danimalviking11
Really….nobody could have played the character as well? That’s pretty insulting to black actors and actors in general. If someone else had played him originally and passed away, you might be saying the same thing. Very closed minded. Nobody should feel so ignorant to make a statement like that.
James
We need black panther killing off the hero just because the actor passed is very unreasonable Black Panther will be eternal as always been in the comics
Prognosis
There is another option. Don’t recast T’Challa, but don’t kill him either. Deep Fake technology is probably almost good enough now to keep Boseman as T’Challa. I bet if Disney studios tried, they could make it happen. The actors guild may have a coronary tho….
Blaggs
Y’all are aware of the multiverse, right? There are billions of T’Challa’s out there. Plenty of opportunity to recast for another adventure in the future, not just those here in 616
Mo
What about honor Chadwick Boseman by respecting his family. Listen to their opinion not the studio, not the fans, not any movements or anyone trying to push for one thing or another. They know him best and what he would have wanted and what they feel is the best. Not what everyone else thinks. Everyone wants to say their opinion and wants people to listen to them. But we all should listen more and talk less.
Sal
Wow
Your words are amazing and inspiring. We do need to listen more.
Thomas
OK can someone tell the 20 something white people to shut up. People that matter want this movie to happen to honor Chadwick
Amy
Isn’t this the Multiverse Saga? Who says T’Challa won’t be back?
Chadwick brought something special to the role and his death was a tragedy. I think recasting his exact role isn’t necessary when others can take the mantle and his variant(s) can join in. It adds drama and sadness to the story. Why would they not use the elements in front of them?
Plus, why is everyone hating on Shuri? Let her shine in this one.
EricJ
Patrick
Let see how this works out. If it tanks then when Kang comes around they’ll do what they do in the com is, HULK will eat a magic taco during victory party & a magic fart cloud will reset time, space & reality with a new T’Challa!
nNark
I feel compelled to point out this the sequel, like the original, is written and directed by Ryan Coogler, who doesn’t seem inclined to dishonor Black actors or characters in any way. Does that not carry any confidence for fans? Come on, now!
Black Panther was easily one of the very best Marvel movies— and hero movies— of all time, and the sequel looks at least as amazing. Fanboys have needed to chill out ever since the Internet blew up. Seriously.
K
Kill him off, don’t kill him people are gonna gonna complain either way. It’s not about the art of anything anymore, people can’t just shut up and enjoy life anymore without trying to find things to complain about. Grow up, stop being so sensitive and enjoy the art of the comics being brought to film!
Amy

Scot

Jay
I don’t agree with recasting and I think if Tom Holland died they would not recast him either but they are obviously moving on with a black panther it just isn’t t’challa. Thats fine with me as long as black panther continues on and I’m gonna take a stab in the dark that its a person of color playing this part whether its a man or woman I would prefer a man but ill be happy either way knowing the character can live on and they can continue to let it be a staple of the mcu. I think too many people would hate it more if they recasted and the person did a bad job or wasn’t as good this way we can judge the person for being their own black panther.
K.M.
Tim
Black Panther is not dead he is being recast just by another character. The films are an adaptation of the comic books and making black Panther someone else can be written into the films. Peoples complaints are nonsense Black Panther is forever.
James Sullivan
Recast the character.
PFrancois
Even if I don’t agree, I get people wanting to recast T’Challa but don’t people understand that T’Challa and Black Panther are two separate entities. T’Challa was the fictional real-life person in Marvel, which would be weird to see someone else other than Chadwick Bozeman play, while many characters from Shuri to Kilmonger have worn the Black Panther suit. To me, you can have a “second” Black Panther without recasting T’Challa because in the comics the idea of the suit was bigger than the one character who wore it at the time.
Nick
All I got to say is if they had recast the character you would complain about it as well. There is no winning with you. # persecuted my ass

I wish people would spend this much energy trying to get along in the REAL WORLD
RC
Recast T’Challa. I don’t think it’s blacks not wanting to not recast at all . It’s Disney who controls Marvel Studios doing this. Yes it’s unfortunate that Chadwick passed away but if it would have been any other character from another race, they wouldn’t have hesitate to recast. They know blacks are overemotional and they are taking advantage of it. It’s a way to push this feminist crap on to these black women who think they are empowered . If you notice they are changing all the male characters to female characters. I only saw 3 men in the trailer. The rest were women .
Nomad
Wow. That was a lot of boilerplate for a tiny story. I mean, I know your entire stick is to reuse the same copy and paste summaries that waste people’s time to make them scroll through piles of ads to get to the actual story, but this one takes the cake.
Mark Graff
Just put Vanity Smurf in the suit and call it Blue Panther. Who gives a smurf.
Boo
NO.
You will NOT keep us from supporting this movie. We will be out in full force. We WILL usurp the narrative that black film can’t be at the forefront of theatrical entertainment. Wakanda…the struggle, FOREVER!
Jerry
Cast Ryan gosling as the new black panther. Black panther has a glaring need for some diversity.
Max
IT IS DIVERSE. There are white people in every other marvel movie. There are plenty of white side characters just for your enjoyment.
Bruce at Large
Often, the sensible voice gets drowned out in the din, but I hear you. We, Black folks, need to learn how to manifest reality from imagination rather than try to live reality without imagination.
RiBeastie
Boseman’s Black Panther died in the film, his father was black panther before him and his people will choose a new black panther. Tony stark died in the film, you don’t see him being recast. Black widow died and she’s not recast either but black panther is different. There will always be a black panther because when 1 dies another is selected.
Max
But those people didn’t die irl. It’s different.
Azza
They should recast Black Panther with a white actor to balance things out a bit.
After all the list of race swapped white characters is long:
Jordan cast as Johnny storm in Fantastic 4 remake bomb.
Fishburne as Perry White in Man of Steel
Billy Dee Williams as Harvey Dent in Batman 89
Will Smith as Deadshot
Idris Elba as VIKING god Heimdall
Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury
Harry Lennix as Martian Manhunter
Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen (Supergirl)
Halle Berry as Catwoman
Candice Patton as Iris West in the Flash
Wally West in the Flash
Jaime Fox as Electro
Mordo in Dr Strange
Granted most of these are comics to movie raceswapping and not race swapping an existing movie actor but it still counts.
Henry Cavill as Black panther 🙂
Calvin
🖕🏾🖕🏾🖕🏾
Max
If your serious that’s disgusting. But this does sound like a decision Disney would make. Not marvel
Calvin
Max
I feel like recasting him would be hard because it would never be the same. At least give a reason he died. Marvel is Marvel not real life. And the actor who would recast him would just be compared constantly and face a lot of hate. Also there is another black panther. Just not another t’challa.
Dee
I would still see the movie. Loved the 1st one. All they had to do was let Lupita make a T’Challa Jr. & create a legacy so the character will live on in his child & future children. I mean that will make more sense.
Kris
If you’re angry about this, you obviously don’t understand that they can literally do anything they want in the MCU with the multiverse.
Calm yourselves. The movie isn’t out yet. They could have MANY surprises.
Tone capone
If they were to recast they people would be upset they recast him so they didn’t recast him and people are still upset it won’t matter cause by the time secret wars drops the whole mcu is gonna get rebooted anyway so that’s the time to recast everyone it’s gonna happen watch
Gene
It’s all nonsense. The media loves to turn 10 tweets from random people into it must be the majority is outraged. Secondly I just can’t stand Disney anymore they just can’t get out of their own way
Hippie
Yes, the character should be recast. As a Dine, or a Roumanian, or a plains Mongolian, or an indigenous australian. These groups are horrendously underrepresented.
Cocopuff
I’m not sure how all of this nonsense got started. I WILL BE SUPPORTING THIS MOVIE! No one has even seen the movie to know the storyline. Maybe this movie is a setup for a new Black Panther to emerge. People are assuming based on a trailer.
ORANGES78671
of course they were going to ‘recast’ the actual Black Panther part of it and I don’t believe that’s slapping Boseman in the fact at all.
Karruim
I don’t think that Feige is wrong by not recasting the role. He has a vision for the marvel universe on a large scale lets at least see the movie before we start to bash it.
Jason
Someone said T’challa is just as important to Marvel as Tony Stark and Steve Rogers. Well, Tony Stark died and Steve Rogers left to grow old with Carter, so why are y’all crying over this? It’s a great honor that Boseman will be the only Black Panther. That is until the character is recast as another person, be it a white person or a female just like they are doing with Iron Heart, Capt. America, Thor, and others. Y’all ain’t been in upheavel over these characters… Just saying!!
Ps
Okay, so let me get this straight. You would be cool if your employer put together a memorial for you if you died (against your family’s wishes) and then thay charged $15 to attend said “memorial”..?
Kris
This is a no-win situation. If they recast, some would hate it if they kill him off others will hate it. Is it respectful to kill him off or disrespectful that they recast? It’s all your perspective of the movie and cast.
Their choice is to honor his performance as the character.
Cory
People wouldn’t have been satisfied either way. Same people saying recast would be the the first ones upset that the replacement wasn’t Chadwick and saying they shouldn’t have recasted. Any any REAL MARVEL fan knows that T’Challa isn’t the only Black Panther, and his sister actually did take over for a time.
Sean
I think they should have a new character take up the Black panther mantle. The arguments I’m seeing quoted in this article that because he was in one solo movie we somehow haven’t gotten a substantial amount of Tchalla are insane. The hulk was in one solo movie as well and he’s still a pivotal character, as is T’challa, who is a very important character in three MCU films, and I suspect even in death, will be a very important character in a fourth.
Michael Crocker
Really?!! A movie without the lead character!! Only Disney would do something this stupid. Hey try this? Recast and honor Chadwick by not letting something he help create and keep people interested and happy, or don’t and walk over the character that Chadwick help make famous. Da heck are y’all doing anyway?
TK
Thankfully the movie wasn’t called T’Challa. It used the title Black Panther that has been passed to other characters many times in the comics and once already in the MCU
Mo
Marvel fans are toxic, it’s gross. They get what they ask for and will nitpick at everything.
Obviously they got the greenlight to continue this story. How about you wait and watch it THEN you can form your opinions.
Shawn
The original actors that played Superman, Batman and Spiderman stared in more than one of there series movie and none of those actors passed away
causing a recast. And when a character is played by different people it does not bring the same energy to the roll.
Jah Know
too late now. adapt people, move on.
Steve
Sandra
Since they killed off just about every female marvel superhero except Captain Marvel, maybe Shuri should be there next Black Panther. Has Marvel even had a black female superhero yet?
Jeff D
So many of us are beyond tired of everything being said that the world is prejudice against black. And getting in an uproar if a blacks not in a movie or killed in a movie or whatever. Can you imagine if we had a channel called the white channel. They have the Bet channel the Bet awards n more. It’s ridiculous!! Stop the nonsense
MT
Mel
I understand both sides. Looking at what was said made me think people were right they should’ve recast the character. I know when Chadwick first passed people came out saying they didn’t want anyone else in that role and I think that was in grief. It’s true that if GOD forbid Downey or Hemsworth or anyone like that had passed instead they wouldn’t have that character pass away as well. The movie is a tribute which is great and it will successful. There’s still a chance both will happen. There’s a multiverse now so we could still see another T’Challa without offending anyone.
Bob
With other media platforms, Star Wars, Star Trek, other MCU projects like Thor, and most Disney movies going with all female casts, has it occurred to anyone that with the passing of Chadwick Boseman that maybe the producers are going to introduce a FEMALE Black Panther?
AN
Oh my God. T’challa is dead. Chadwick is dead. How am I going to live. My life is over. MCU is all i care about. I even gave up my family and job just so that I could talk about MCU all day long. What am I going to do now?
Bob
Write and make your own movie then.
You’re fully capable and able to do so.
Take ownership of the project.
Slick
What a stupid article. The author needs to do more than look at a few social media posts. There is no evidence that this is representative of what most people really want, and it wouldn’t matter if it did.
Felice
Do not recast the role – as it would be impossible for a new actor to fill such very large shoes. Chadwick Boseman was one of a kind.
KM
Chadwick Boseman was great in the role, but T’Chala should be recast, not killed off.
Tom
Nell
This is exactly why Ryan chose this direction, folks are unable to separate Chadwick from T’Challa. Since he’s no longer around the mantle cannot be passed to another character as they have been doing in the marvel series. Therefore you add some reality to fiction – kill him off, pass Shuri the mantle and we know she didn’t do that good of a job which would help to explain the new T’Challa. The new T’Challa may even be used to help reintroduce the Xmen into the Marvel-verse
Theo Butler
Born in 1968, I have been doing all things comicbook related for over 50 years. Toys, clothing, comics, cartoons, movies, board games, video games
…TV shows. I remember T’Challa sporting a half mask. Jungle Action to Fantastic Four. Y’all really tried it as if Black Folks aren’t into Superheroes like that. I will make it my PERSONAL MISSION TO SEE THIS MOVIE FAIL.
Crazy cause I don’t believe you would’ve pulled this on Stan’s watch.
Rio
I feel like recasting will be like beating a dead horse. We’ve seen this time and time again with movies and it’s so redundant. Give the movie a chance before y’all attack it! Also remember that Marvel is full of stunts. They’ll show one thing in the trailer and then it’ll be completely different in the actual movie itself. Or have we not learned that after 10/11 years in the MCU??
MT
Kingoftheants
Who cares
Social media and people’s opinions have ruined artistic expression forever.
MrE
I believe that’s Shuri in the suit. She takes over as the new Black Panther in the comics, so I’ve read, first and foremost. Second, I know curves when I see ’em.
Marion
I think everyone might be jumping the gun on this. For all we know they are going to come up with a was to resurrect the character. Or I mean it shows a baby being born if he is given the name sake then the character can continue. If it plays out of everyone is saying then maybe. As far as the civil war and people dying and all being brought up in all comics there is always pain and destruction, otherwise there is no need for heroes.
C. Barrett
Recasting someone to play Ta’challa would be wrong because they will not be Chadwick. Let Shuri play black panther
Monde
Valiarius
Let’s not forget they killed Tchalla’s uncle and father on the first Black Panther, the Hollywood tradition of killing off black male characters is intact.
Donna
Honestly, why are we not channeling on this energy into getting the Real Life black historical people who have contributed to society? Focused on a fictional characters back stories and arguing about something imaginary, what about the real people that white history has excluded from our collective education overall. They trying to rewrite history calling slavery “involuntary relocation”. Real problems facing real people.
john p sorg
It’s not black folks doing this! It’s ignorant potsters trying to make black folks look insane! It happens all the time, and they try to cause division in the community.
Valiarius
It’s time for Suri to rise as the first female Black Panther! #SuriBlackPanther #FemaleBlackPanther
J.M
Kenya
Just don’t go to the movie, but why boycott? I’m not a MCU fan, but I am a Black Panther fan. My mother went to see & LOVED Black Panther, she isn’t going to see any other MCU movie. This particular movie goes far beyond the influence of MCU, therefore Chadwick’s death also transcends. Doesn’t his character die in the comics anyway? How about stick to the script!
Woofdog
It always bothers me when, without having seen the final movie, people call for a boycott. I trust Ryan Coogler! I believe a hero will emerge, how can one not? It’s not going to be T’Challa but his “brother” in spirit.
I wouldn’t want any actor to bear the responsibility and wrath of the entire internet to try to “replace” Mr. Boseman. He was one of a kind. But another character with his same heroic attributes would be the next best thing, imo. MCU always has surprises up their sleeves and I believe they will quell most of our fears.
Trust Ryan Coogler!
Christie
I don’t believe TChalla should be Recast! Nobody can play this role better than Chadwick and it is what it is! I don know why people don’t get that you can’t just stick someone else in the Black Panther suit and say here be Black Panther. There are also parts where the actor doesn’t have that suit on as TChalla. We don’t need someone else to come and mess up this character. It’s not ablack or white thing it’s a common sense thing. I will be supporting this movie as will all my fam and friends and I’m sure other (true) Marvel fans!
Mookie

John J
Yeah, I mean not recasting T’Challa, simply because Chadwick Boseman died isn’t a good idea. Not to mention, Rhodey was recast from Terrence Howard to Don Cheadle, so how is this any different?
Besides, if anything needs boycotting its that stupid Civil War movie, because it promoted hatemongering on such a subtle level.
Rob
The T’Challa played by Chadwick Bozeman can be replaced by a variant from another universe .
That would be a good way to do this . Have a T’Challa from an alternate Universe get stuck here .
Either way I’ll see the movie .
Janice
Recast! It’s extremely important, especially during the times we are living in, for people of color to connect with a hero who represents us!
David
I’m obviously not the intended audience for this article, because I am thoroughly confused as to what the “controversy” is even about. Might want to translate things for us lay folk if publishing to a mass audience.
kim
I think they need to find a new black panther. Don’t do a recast but the black panther should live on.
Francisco Duncan
I have always believed that the role should be recast. I even believe the actor Atandwa Kani who played young King T’Chaka in the first movie should be the actor recast to play him. No disrespect at all to Chadwick Boseman may God grant him rest. But the character of Black Panther should live on. Like Superman, Batman, Spider-Man and others. #RecastT’Challa
Chris
Cry Me a river. t’challa’s sister shuri it’s a black panther in the comics and more than capable of taking over the role. I don’t know why everybody is whining. I guess it’s not going to please everybody.
Shane
First black superhero???? Has blade starring Wesley snipes that HAD 2 SEQUELS been forgotten already?
Dubya
Bro that was the first thing I thought of.
WWill
T’Challa was the first black superhero for Marvel and you want to kill off a piece of black history? How white of you. For the record Chadwick would support recasting and his family supports recasting
Carwynnn
Blade is also marvel…
WWill
There’s something called comics you know
Dubya
When I initially heard they weren’t recasting I though what a silly. Even more silly was pretending this was the first black superhero on film/tv. I’m sure Disney promoted and played into that propaganda to just make more money meanwhile I bet ol’ Wesley Snipes was sitting there wondering how everyone forgot about him. I bet Mike Colter (Luke Cage) had to be a lil put off by that as well. Like all their great performances didn’t count or something🙄 I guess too late now Marvel
Whit
Honestly if they read Comics they’d have no complaint. King T does indeed die. I know MCU fans may be upset but Try to be open minded.
Gloria J
The trailer shows someone in the black Panther suit. It’s good that they honor Chad. Black Panther will go on and I am glad it’s back.
Charlean
Hell naw nobody’s boycotting black panther 2 f*** what y’all are talking about this is for Chadwick like f*** your boycott black panther 2.
WAKANDA FOREVER
MUTHF*****.
Brown
I think they honor T’Challa and his death. Seeing the small glimpse of the ‘Black Panther’ at the end of the trailer leads me to believe Nakia or Okoye will become the next Black Panther. I will watch the movie myself too see. Iron Man is dead. I don’t think the Black Panther is.
Paula Wynn
Every time I turn around there’s a new Spiderman, Superman, or Batman. Why can’t someone else play TChalla? I’m sure Chadwick would appreciate the sentiment of retiring the character because of his untimely passing, but I believe he would rather keep him alive. Isn’t it more important to keep the Black Panther alive for future generations? Isn’t it better to give little brown kids a superhero of their own to look up to?
Kevin
This is not just a black thing. White people, Asian, Indian, we all Love black panther and Chadwick. If you watch the preview again you’ll notice a WOMAN in the costume. Definitely should have recast instead of bringing real life trauma on the screen.
Fred Gibbons
If you know the story you know that black panther is a role that passes along. Boseman’s passing fits into the mold of the next in line picking up the mantle. It’s sad, but completely in line.
Prawn
Holy manufactured outrage Batman
Don’t kid yourselves, it was always about profit to Disney, even if they had recast T’challa🤦🏼♀️
John
It’s a movie!!!!!!
Daiv Whaley
Jeramiah C
Dawg I seriously can’t understand how butthurt some people be, yall didn’t make the movie, yall didn’t play the role, you simply observe. Not only is it one of kind, yeah if Peter Parker or batman died they would be replaced, they have the money and people too, but this is them showing true love, showing they can’t and shouldn’t replace Chadwick, he was the actor that made the movie whole. Along with that, as people who actually care know and have pointed out, it fits into the story of the Black panther anyways, even though it’s Wakanda Forever, they aren’t, nor are we immortal.
Tia

Just stating the obvious, anytime a black man is shown in a positive light free of the white man’s opinion it is a threat to racist white male fragility. This whole matter is a text book example of how black people fit in a white narrative. Mediocre white men must always tell black people how to be black. This is done on purpose to have the excuse not to produce any black centric MCU going forward.
Richard
Let wakanda rise and soar,I’m all in.
Tia
All they want to do is honor Chad Wick Boseman in the way he should be honored. They can do it like a soap opera, his family thinks he’s dead but he’s really not and he comes back from the dead being trapped in a hole or something. IJS let these people do what they do. Black Panther the character will never be forgotten.
DontWorry
This is by far one of the most drawn out, boring, “get to the point” amateur articles I’ve read in my entire life.
Felix
Just another example of the overwntitled fans that exist today.
They don’t have any clue what the new movie holds or what direction the story will take but they are still yelling to the skies about being wronged in some way.
Let the director make his movie. He knows the material better than you and has a vision.
You arent the artist you are just a consumer.
Tia
@ Felis Thank you they haven’t seen the movie and complaining. They don’t know which way the directors are going.
Kay
They should’ve just recast the role of T’Challa..
Pablo
007 was never killed off. And several of those guys have died. Just saying… Disney was looking for a good reason to double down on female protagonists, and capitalize on Boseman’s death.
Mr. FOSHA
This is just my perspective…This has perfect timing in fitting the narrative of the feminist agenda we’ve all seen taking place within the past six years in television and film. African American women have now been tagged with the assist into the ring with this film and ‘The Woman King’s soon to be released.
Jason
If anyone has kept up this is now much more than one universe so the next black panther isn’t from 616 he’s from another universe hence no recast because it’s not the same black panther that was in universe 616 keep up people
Yen
One solo movie!!! It’s called Black Panther, Comic book fans want to see the hero. Recast Tchalla and scrap this movie. If you don’t scrap it Atleast take black panther off it and call just call it Wakanda. The actors have an expiration on these characters stop making this about color. Christopher Reeves couldn’t play Superman forever, Toby Couldn’t do Spider-Man for 20 years. Change the name or scrap the movie. I want to see the king not move on to what should of been the 4th movie that being someone else takes the mantle
The Ogre
I guess no one realizes this film takes place in between the “SNAPS”…
Paul N
When I heard that T’Challa would not be recast, I thought that meant they would use CGI to keep Chadwick Boseman’s image, at least, still portraying Black Panther. Maybe have him wearing the mask for more of the movie’s duration, like how Bruce Lee’s character in Game of Death wore the motorcycle helmet through half the movie. The idea of killing off the characters in the MCU is just ridiculous.
Bridgette
Everytime black ppl try to have something good, here come OTHERS trying to put a damper on it, always trying to put it in ways that blacks are doing something negative I don’t believe it and there is no way I’m gonna boycott this movie, so KICK ROCKS
Anthony Mosley
I am neither Black nor particularly fond of superhero films. But Chadwick Boseman’s performance brought depth and complexity to the role in a way few actors could have matched. My admiration for the man is heightened by the knowledgeable that he was very ill while making the movie, yet conveyed such strength, calm, and dignity throughout. I would not want to be the actor who would have to fill his shoes. But I suspect his brother was right: The actor knew that the role was bigger than the man; and the man was very big, indeed
Jay
Shane
Why not handle it the same way the comics did? T’challa died without an heir, so his sister, Shuri became queen of Wakanda, and the new Black Panther. It’s a natural and organic story development that respects the source material and the actor.
Rodney J
So tell us you didn’t watch the trailer without telling us you didn’t WATCH THE TRAILER
All yall yelling when yall don’t know if Tchalla was recasted or not. FYI if you watched the whole trailer then you would have seen a black panther at the end of the trailer. Now what does this mean or who it is or anything is yet to be seen. But yall jumping to much conclusions. Calm down
Beverly M.
I Think, take. the Chance, on a
Re-Casting !

Dave
People die characters die Hollywood is Hollywood they put up the money! for those who don’t wanna see it you don’t have too! That is yourright to not see it (For those who do I say enjoy it) That is what we call freedom in this country we are getting too carried away with trying to make everybody fit into one box think about it people and not everything is about race it is usually about money right!🙌
ChristinaM
I personally need time to move on. I can’t accept anyone else playing the role of T’Challa. No one will be good enough to replace Chadwick Boseman… not yet.
Yes, recast the role, in 10 years time. Not now. I think the funeral procession in the trailer is a beautiful Tribute.
Also, Marvel Universe believes in the Multi Verse. In this Universe, T’Challa passed away. We can always have another Universe with a new T’Challa.
I miss Chadwick Boseman.
Ben Efits
This is not a racial issue; if they had cancelled BP2 y’all would be saying that Chadwick would have wanted the movie to be made no matter the choice for his character. If they had recast him y’all would be saying that it was wrong to not acknowledge that Chadwick died. They made the movie and are profiting off of his death. You wouldn’t be happy either way.

First movie was a bore fest, and the second won’t be any different.
Panfilo
Though the story is not yet revealed fully, I believe T’Challa will be recasted soon to follow after the movie. To give time to look for a fitting Character artist for T’Challa. Unless the movie reveals that its final and never will “resurrect” T’Challa is surely choatic. But I just hope that it would be other wise that the real black panther would appear soon on the upcoming sequel.
Q c
Why is it that everyone thinks that this is the first black mcu hero on screen when blade paved the road for All the mcu movies. Its a slap in the face to the first true starter of the series
James
Maybe recast the lead as a white person the opposite has become the Hollywood norm, remaking/rebooting sitcoms with black actors some things don’t need remade these writer’s get paid huge amounts of money and can’t come up with new ideas, honestly black panther was garbage just like the latest batman I’m all for equality but seriously stop replacing normally white roles with black’s just to be PC
Carolyn Terry
Yes recasting Black panther
Delay
Shhhhhhhh this isn’t about u lady nobody cares tht u think I have a voice in a movie recasting plz take several seats
Kevin
Black people are never, ever going to be happy in life. Replace him and it is racist. Dont replace him and it is racist. That’s all black people know how to do, is pull the race card. They cannot and will not ever jist lead happy lives in the modern world because they think theyre better than everyone and that white people owe them.
Let them eat cake.
Hannah
I don’t understand why this is an issue now after the movie has been made. Everyone knew for years now that Chadwick wasn’t going to be recast. Now people are throwing down as if Disney is going to say ‘oh OK we are just going to scrap this entire movie and redo it’. Come on really
Teena Marie
At first, I was a part of the do not recast opinion. No one can play T Challa the Chadwick did. However, Black Panther was the 1st superhero our black boys could look up to and feel pride in. With the world continously putting black men in stereotypical roles. Not only our boys but our girls to need to see a strong positive black man caring and fighting for his family and his people. #recastBlack Panther
Dejay
So it’s not ALL black ppl cause when this movie come out I’m first to buy the ticket like wat are y’all talking about and where did tom holland come from 🧍🏽
Mind
Technically Blade was Marvel’s first African American led movie. And Blade is Technically a superhero.
JoAnn
I agree with the recasting of T’Challa! I was filled with pride to see our people all over the screen! Our children need to see positive images and storiesof themselves and their greatness! It would be a beautiful honor and trubute to powerful and great actor gone too soon. ❤️
JayGee
Lori S Williams
If those who follow the comics should know…Black Panther was replaced with someone else…his sister!! I agree that Chadwick is and was the true Black Panther and I will not boycott Wakanda forever!!
Joz
Three different actors have played Spider-Man. There is no disrespect in recasting the Black Panther. RIP, Chadwick.
Bluesmessiah
No, 3 different actors have played 3 different SpiderMen, not the same SpiderMan. There is a difference. No one was “re-cast”. So when Marvel says that they will never have another Black Panther from another part of the Multiverse, then what you’re saying will be true. Until then, how about honoring Chadwick by not spreading baseless lies about his character?
Mojo
What about honor Chadwick Boseman by respecting his family. Listen to their opinion not the studio, not the fans, not any movements or anyone trying to push for one thing or another. They know him best and what he would have wanted and what they feel is the best. Not what everyone else thinks. Everyone wants to say their opinion and wants people to listen to them. But we all should listen more and talk less.
Nunya
I will be supporting this movie. For all we know they Did recast him. Did those calling for the boycott not see the full trailer?
Katina
Elle
Jessica
Recast the role already how many people played spider man or Bruce banner even the original brody from iron man was recast
Bluesmessiah
How many people played Spiderman? One. Just One. Tom Holland. As explained by an entire recent movie, Every other spiderman were NOT the same Spiderman, but different multiverse versions. No one said that there would not be alternate Black Panthers from other universes at some point.
Hippie
Going back to animated series and video gakes, dozens have played parker. Disnee saying their stuff is all that counts does not erase the work of those actors
P A
We have some folks who have not looked into the history of the Black Panther.
Prophet
Y’all don’t give MCU enough credit. And as soon as the big reveal comes, how many complainers are going to spoil it?
MeMe
Honestly they shouldn’t recast The original Black Panther, why can’t they work Winston Duke (M’BAKU) into the story line to be the next King
The next Black Panther! Why can’t the torch be passed to him??
Sarah
Yea im not boycotting nothing I at least want to see it this wasn’t no black people being ijs if it was they some footsie dint ger nothing other then slave or trauma movies as is
Donavan Q
The actor playing a role died, but why does the character the actor played needs to die as well? All for someone else taking the mantle of Black Panther(I hope it’s Shuri), but that doesn’t require King T’Challa dying. It doesn’t have to be an “either or”.
LG
What fans are calling for this so called boycott? Ugh you’re articles are terrible.
Jessamine
#RecastTChalla
What about Rhodes/ War Machine?!
War Machine/Rhodes was recast.
Actor Don Cheadle replaced actor Terrence Howard as Iron Man’s best friend, Rhodes, and became war machine.
Red Skull was recast.
Ant Man’s daughter was recast.
Bluesmessiah
B. Milligan
RavenDarkmoon666
If anyone knows anything about the comics then they should know that the black panther title eventually goes to his sister Shuri so I don’t get the big deal.
Aleesha
This articles was crazy long an you just rambled on about stuff we know already.. And why would we boycott that’s so stupid it’s crazy I see trump folks must be haten…NOPE IM GOING TO THE THEATER
Debora Fields
Just like Superman, Batman, Spiderman and so on has had many faces, do the same for Black Panther..let him live on and continue to be a role model for all the kids and some grown ups also.. #WaKanda forever
Sunbeam Khan
Hell no. Ya’ll gotta stop making such a big deal about these random ass bs tweets. These don’t speak for majority of the fans. Ya’ll should just get off twitter for good and go to reddit or something.

Secret wars is coming!!! Why are people up in arms in general??!!! Man I tell you damned if you do damned if you don’t!!
Ben
Is this what blogging is now? Rehashing some movie history and then copying tweets and then embedding them? It’s just a twitter stream with an introduction.
Corey
Blade was the 1st Black Marvel Superhero Movie made.
Kate
Berna
How many people played Batman? Superman? Spider Man? Do they all give the same charisma as the other stars who played the same role? It’s not about who gave charisma to the character rather it’s about keeping the character alive.
Rr
Fans are not boycotting only lazy slacktavists are because they werent going to ho anyway. And when the media and these fake journalists say this the movie makes 1bil. Because they are out of touch and are just shills at the end of the day.
Doug Sawyer
Let him be a gay character LGBQ …see how that goes over or have a White Guy play him….
Robert
Recast T’Challa!
Joe
One thing is for certain. The media has got black people so confused to the point that they will never completely be happy on anything, but always be divided to keep them down. Wake up! You’re better than this.
Dora
I’m just gonna leave this here… in the comics Shuri takes over as black panther after a fight with Doom nearly kills T’challa. Shuri gets tired of living in the shadow of men and decides to do it herself.
Dan416
If this has been handled correctly it could have been the start of a legacy role something akin to Bond 007.
Timothy King
This is a walking plot hole. T’Challa is the King of the dead & also since we are dealing with the multiverse & @ 1 time having three Peter Parkers, how is it we have zero T’Challas as Black Panther? Disney u have a problem A Black Male like T’Challa being a King on screen, u need 2 clean this mess up.
Liliana
Wasn’t the majority vote before this trailer NOT to recast? And now people are changing their minds? The world is turning into flip flops…
Koekeloertjie
Recasting T’Challa with another actor would remove the memory of Chadwick Boseman for just a another character. Black Panther can live on with another character, but grant Chadwick the honour of being the one T’Challa.
Kim
Thank you!
Kim

Listen I can see this going one of 2 ways:
Patrick
Robert
It’s not about how many black panthers it was. Chad played a amazing role in the movie black Panther and I don’t think no one can do a better job then him. I think the character black Panther should rest. Some movies can’t be recasted.
That’s like saying recast Scarface with Al Pacino you can’t do it. Sometimes you just have to let Greatness Rest.
RobbedofLife
Kill off Tchalla and then cast someone else to take his place. There has been different people who were black panther so anyone making a deal about this clearly never read a single comic in their life.
Neuscence
Heath ledger gave one of the most amazing performances as the joker now if the jokers character had died because ledger did when Phoenix was up for the roll as the joker in the joker movie it would have never become one of the most amazing movies of all time at least in my book
J
That was a different take on the Joker altogether. This is the same character from the same reality and the same timeliness.
J
God, people can’t be pleased. After his death everyone was adamant on NOT recasting him. Now that that haven’t everyone is mad that they DIDN’T recast him. It just seems like the typical offended world again. Plus bringing race into a discussion about recasting a character? Come on.
Elizabeth
I think Black Panther should definitely be recast so they can do more with the story and stay more true to the legends in the comics. There’s really no reason to not. There’s so many talented people out there. Surely somebody could carry on the legacy.
Fren
Considering the fact that everything points to Shuri taking up the mantle, I don’t know what everyone is losing their bananas about. Calm down everyone.
Andrew
T’challa probably should and will be recast eventually but I think it will be down the line a bit, probably in the secret wars movie. The new actor playing T’challa would just be considered a variant of the character.
William Bookman
Some arent calling it “the biggest attack in MCU history. ONE person on twitter said it.
Just stop.
D
This is a no win situation…like for real people would be pissed if they recast him and they would if they didnt…this is a pretty idiotic farce
Toni
Anyone screaming boycott Black Panther is suspect to me. So punish the all minority cast, Black director and cast a shadow over the most decorated and most successful Black films in history bc you can’t have your way. Anyone who follows the comics knows that Suri eventually becomes Black Panther anyway. MCU killed off several characters including Ironman to make way for Iron heart. So stop being so obtuse and juvenile. You stay home in November while the rest of us celebrate the sequel and rejoice in the inclusion of the Latin community and the rest of the world. Yall mad stay mad.
Al
So apparently, these fans that want a boycott already watched the film and saw that nobody takes the mantle of black panther, or they say the 2-3 mins trailer and thought that was it ( because they will reveal everything to you in such a short trailer )
If you havent’ seen it, then stfu and sit your ass down and stop complaining. There’s no way of knowing, what happens and even as a character, he was human ( granted they have technological advances), but he is still subjected to dying of old age or through other means ( look at tony stark)
So, either watch the movie or don’t come November
Jackie
Sick of sjws
The movie is about a character, not a specific actor. Grow up.
Tom Bratcher
What no one understands is that even with the horrible loss of Chadwick Bozeman, it is their movie to make. It’s their story that is being told. When the first Spider-Man actor was recast his did you react?
And then we got the current actor. I loved Chadwick Bozeman as Black Panther, and I’m looking forward to the new one……as long as they don’t say oh now the character will played by a white guy. That would be a slap in the face!
MarvelSux
Yeah God forbid they EVER recast a black character with a white actor like they have done the opposite countless amounts of times.
Pavel
Stop listening to people on Twitter.

This movie lost me when they turned Namor into a gayer looking version of Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite.
