  1. Sad, sad, sad. Splash Mountain is such a beautiful ride. My grandkids never saw the Song of the South, they know nothing of all that back story, but they loved that ride. They watched Tiana once – not interested. She’s no Ariel or Belle. The ride may be made into a beautiful ride, but I have no interest.

Make the ride somewhere else. Leave the B’rer patch alone…

  2. OmegaKL

They went to New Orleans and visited “Chicago square”………….LOL who writes this stuff

  3. #savesongofthesouth please #savesplashmountain at Disneyland resort for the future children!

I agree with you on that. Unlike that S1 Troll that talks perjury and allegedly plots to become a “dictator” of Disney through delusions of grandeur, I can support YOUR cause

Themes come and go, but when a theme that Currently on Splash Mountain is so controversial that it needs to go. I never had the chance to ride it. What’s stange is that the mountain will still be there it just won’t be called Splash Mountain anymore. To me the theme would work better in New Orleans square where Pirates of the Caribbean is.

    1. Kevin

Its only “controversial” because sites like this say it is in an attempt to cater to the overly vociferous minority of people out there that find “offense” in just about everything. 99% of people don’t want this ride changed.

      1. Manny

Statistics which you pulled out of where? Hmmm maybe your nethers?

      2. Wing

Glad someone sees that too. And it’s amazing that these people are so bored with their lives they pretend to be ” offended “for everyone else

    2. Chris Walsh

Why is the theme controversial? Because someone claims it is. It’s a bunch of kid friendly animatronics and never was an issue until last 2 years. You can look at anything and find something offensive if you look hard enough. This is just woke mentality shining through.

  6. BdBum

Leave Splash Mountain alone and give Tiana her own ride somewhere else. Why tear down an iconic ride because of “woke” culture. Once again Disney has folded. Sad, very sad.

    1. Manny

Not one single comment without having to mention “woke.” Social justice is not going away. Deal with it. Thank you for baseless commentary you have earned your penny from a right wing conservative pac. Better yet Russian-bot.

    2. SD

What do you expect the place is run by activists. Soy drinking no Talent no imagination Twitter hopping activists. Just like this manny fellow

  7. BD

Disney Parks have gotten too expensive. The nostalgia of Splash Mountain was a main reason for going. Looks like now is the time to say goodbye to the Disney Parks……

    1. Dr. Manny

Nostalgia for what? Post Civil War southern reconstructionism? The delusional idea that everything was okay after the Civil War and that the song Zippity Do Do will make all better?

      1. Z

Chill Manny, you are getting way too worked up over this. News flash: People will like what they like and your bullying them won’t change that.

      2. Anonymous

Everything was okay in the movie stupid. It’s you whose delusional and misguided. So chill out, buzz off, and stop bullying others.

      3. Anonymous

Everything did turn okay as seen in the movie, stupid.

      4. Don

Where in the entire ride is there any reference to Reconstruction, any reference to slavery? The answer is none. Learn to separate the ride from Reconstruction or you’ll live in the past the rest of your life.

      5. Zip

You do realize that Song of the South resulted in the first ever Academy Award to an African American and that this helps to erode the immense contributions Baskett made to the African American community in his short life?

      6. Steve

This post is so misguided it comes across as pro-Confederate.

      7. BD

The ride was a favorite for me as a kid, and then a favorite for my kids. It was cool to re-experience as an adult while watching my kids have fun on it.

What in the world are you even rambling about?

  8. Anonymous

You mean “if” it will be closing. There is no “when” Andrew Boardwine. That was not an official release date because that date is a launch date. Launch dates are not promising. And because of the greater numbers against it and rumors of Chapek on a woke purge, things get cancelled and would not work out. Get Real.

    1. ZR

Seeing is believing, I’ll believe Chapek will go order 66,when I hear some of those hack activists are out the door or resign of their own accord

      1. Steve

They control him. He had his chance, now he is going to ride out the collapse. Doesn’t matter, he has a golden parachute.

  9. Tswartz

It’s Congo Square NOT Chicago Square….

  10. CT

If Disney did it’s research, it would realize that PATF has racial problems of its own. This story takes place in the 1920s in the Deep South.

    1. Steve

It’s progressive at the moment. In 10 years, they can realize it was racist all along and demolish it again.

  11. Sharon

So many changes that can and should be made, Splash Mountain isn’t one of them. Splash Mountain and the music are originals. Princess and the frog are too new and not great compared to princesses like Cinderella and Snow White. Leave this ride alone and replace the smelly cars. Splash Mountain is a favorite for many Disney Parks fans.

  12. Sharon

Bring back the Br’ers and the fun Laughing Place. If some people are holding onto Song of the South prejudice, let it go. Uncle Remus, who was a very nice old black man, was replaced by Brier Frog. LEAVE SPLASH MOUNTAIN AS IS AND PUT PRINCESS AND THE FROG IN PLACE OF THE STUPID SMELLY CARS!!!

  13. Sharon

Poll Magic Kingdom fans about replacing Splash Mountain. Most want it to remain!

  14. Mason

Congratulations to Disney for showing woke culture by canceling a beloved ride based off of a movie that was banned from generations.

  15. Jeremy

I think it’s huge mistake to change splash and I bet the vast majority would rather it be left alone. And who’s interested in what happens after the kiss? You ride these attractions to be in the movie, not what happens after. Not using the original story and music, no Dr. Facilier, and no friends on the other side sounds like a disaster.

  16. Steve

    1. Screens
    2. Empty rooms
    3. A shorter but louder line
    4. No explanation of he mountain in Louisiana
    5. Maybe a lesbian kiss scene

  17. G

Give Tiana her own ride in New Orleans. I don’t mind some updates but 100% should be Pocahontas!!! Come on! Where is Pocahontas at?! In one of the songs in the movie, she’s in a canoe and has little drops, just like the ride. To me it’s a no brainer. Color projections on the walls during “colors of the wind”. It would be amazing and beautiful!!

    1. Steve

Not black enough. Native Americans are too small of a minority to sell race-labeled toys to. Building a new attraction costs money Bob won’t pay.

The real reason this is happening, by the way, is Disney finds the cost if upkeep for the ride too high.

  18. Good Luck

Suuuuuuuure it is. And where is your factual evidence?

  19. Angel

Personally for me the Magic has died, may it Rest In Peace

  20. Princess Tiana deserves her own ride and restaurant by retheming Tom Sawyer Island better than retheming Splash Mountain in Frontierland at the Magic Kingdom
    #SaveSplashMoutain

  21. KRC

I wish I could take my grand children to see splash mountain it is my favorite ride. I love the music and the story. I just don’t see how princess Tiana fits into Frontierland. I think I will probably just take them to universal studios unless they also decide to go totally woke. I hate seeing an iconic empire caving in to the pressures from a small minority
