I feel like this is a bit of a ‘no harm no foul’ incident… after all this is literally why this is an animatronic and not a real stunt actor! I do hope it wasn’t badly damaged, though… that thing has to be pricey to fix.
what looks like happened is that the cable release failed and the drag from the trailing launch cable meant the machine a) didn’t spin properly and b) fell short of its target (i.e. the side of the building).
