Vision was always popular with readers. But the general public within the comics regarded him with prejudice, disregard, wariness and ignorance. It wouldn’t surprise me if the general public within the MCU disregarded him. I think the avengers themselves are the only people who considered him to be a person. At least he did get a mention in Peter Parker’s school.
What’s more frustrating is how little time the MCU creators have given him. He’s a great character with so much amazing comic history. I dont care for these new characters nearly as much as I care for Vision. And honestly… how many iterations of “person in cool suit” and “person with beams coming out of them” do we need?
Vision is the only synthetic lifeform! He’s so unique. He raises interesting questions about what it means to be alive.
