I hate snakes, Jock. I hate ’em!”— Indiana Jones expresses his feeling on the matter right off the bat with this memorable line from his debut in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Dr. Jan 23, 2021
Honestly, the only thing that seems a little different is that I remember that ride being slightly more well lit. Other than that, this ride hasn’t changed at all since it opened, only it isn’t known as the temple of the three hour line now
That is exactly what it means to be a Mandela effect. Some people remember it one way while other people remember it another way. My book about it is called ‘Mandela Effect Memories’ and is on Amazon.
Mandela Effect is the inability for a person to accept their memory is faulty. It’s easier to believe the universe has changed than admit they are wrong.
I have never come across one that was not easily explained as pop culture confusion (hearing the misquote more times than the movie), mishearing words vs spelling. Or mixing up similar people or things.
Even the name derives from people having watched the movie Cry Freedom and confusing Steven Biko with Nelson Mandela.
It is never anything like Dustin Hoffman was Obi Wan Kenobi. It is always something simple like hearing Bernstein but not realizing (you couldnt read cursive as a child to read Bernstain).
Perpetuating the lie of parallel universe, simulation to the gullible is why we have climate change deniers, 9/11 conspiracy theories, fake moon landing or flat earth and Jan 6 traitors believing the election was stolen (people died).
You are profiting because you can’t be that gullible. An actual factual book explaining why does not reinforce their beliefs and will not be that popular. Maybe I will write my own.
The original LCU is no longer playing, it’s been broken since 2011. You have been hearing a broken version of the soundtrack with sound effects incorrectly playing. I created a video that talks about this in full depth. That is something that changed horribly.
I don’t remember Snakes, why’d it have to be snakes in Indiana Jones but maybe they’ve been to Disney World in Florida… The now defunct Great Movie ride had the guides / actors use this phrase in the temple scene where he / she tries to steal the jewel off the statue….
While the line has always been, “Snakes? You guys are on your own!” because you are only in front of the snake for a very short amount of time. The scene has changed over the years…
The snake animatronic used to actually MOVE, and menace riders by baring its fangs. The last several times I’ve been on the ride, it was completely stationary.
I agree that the Snake isn’t as animatronic as it used to be …. the Temple of the Forbidden Eye (so tired of the abbreviation Indiana Jones Adventure) has one of the better interactive queue lines …. although I tend to use the Single Rider Pass.
He says “you’re on your own” at the beginning of the ride, and “snakes, it had to be snakes” (or something to that effect) at the very end of the ride (but this randomized or on a cycle with other ending dialogue, so you might get something different each time you ride).
That’s incorrect. You only get the two phrases in the snake temple scene.
Snakes, you guys are on your own.
Careful! Watch out for anything that slithers!
As an extreme expert on this attraction, this phrase never existed. You only have two phrases. “Snakes, you guys are on your own.” And “Careful, watch out for anything that slithers!”
However, with the original LCU, there was a rare glitch whenever your jeep was about to enter the “Dark Room” where your jeep stalls, you would hear indy say this exact dialogue from Raiders. “Snakes.. Why does it always have to be snakes..” It was very quiet and hard to come by. There are two videos that have this occurrence play.

Because the snake they have in is the “Stand-in” snake. It’s used when the real one is being worked on.

They sadly removed Single Rider! I used to exclusively single ride and mourn its loss.

The snake they got in right now is the “Stand-in”. It is used while the other one is being fixed up.
