I agree, all Disney movies need at least one LBTQAI+ scene. They need to reflect reality so that everyone is represented.

I wonder how much this will cost Disney. The overall value of the company is down over 50% (loss of over $200 Billion!).

Perhaps Disney could make regional cuts (versions) of the film that respects other peoples’ culture and philosophy rather than forcing elitist ‘modern’ culture on them as elitist western powers have done to other people for centuries.

Disney and other media organizations already often accommodate the socialist dictatorship in China to conform to their social and government dictates for their version of ‘social justice’ and ‘social stability’. Given that, why step into controversy? Where is the profit in controversial content that may reduce consumption?

Perhaps Disney should focus on creative products that satisfy the largest groups of potential customers and promote profitability rather than misusing their mega corporation status to manipulate our democracy and society.

Do any of us really want any mega corporation like Disney/ESPN manipulating our culture and government? Does anyone really want mega oil, drug, media or military corporations manipulating our freedoms and cultural thinking?

The argument you make is extremely racist and bigoted. “Disney should focus on … the largest groups of potential customers.” Make content for the straight evangelical white folks? That is the largest group. Ignore the LGBT people, the people of color, the minorities so the “Majority” feel comfortable?
That is the very definition of bigotry.

          Hello SCOTT m Lee-ROSS,

Perhaps you need to look up the definitions of racism and bigotry.

I’ll make it easy for you to understand.

Racial bigotry is when people like Joe Biden delivered a ‘racial jungle’ speech in Congress and tried to keep my 6th grade friend Patrice, a young black girl, from going to school with me.

Asking corporations to focus on their business, service their customers and stay out of our democracy is anti-racist and anti-corporate-manipulation-of-our-democracy.

          Give it some thought.

          1. SCOTT m Lee-ROSS

let me make it clear. Here is the definition of Bigotry: obstinate or unreasonable attachment to a belief, opinion, or faction; in particular, prejudice against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular group.
Asking corporations to give up their First Amendment right to Freedom of Speech is not anti-racists, it is bigotry. And corporate speech is part of our democratic republic. Unless you do not know what that is either??

Has there ever been a heterosexual kiss in any of their movies? This is a kids movie. No sexual kiss should be anywhere near this!

    1. SCOTT m Lee-ROSS

Yes, from the very first animated feature, Snow White. And the scene in Lightyear is as sexual as the kiss in Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, or any other Disney film.

  3. KG

No parent wants to take their kids to a cartoon and have to explain sexuality, much less deviant sexuality, to them. This is common sense

    1. SCOTT m Lee-ROSS

Why would they have to explain “deviant” sexuality, much less any other sexuality. They see people kiss all around them. This is no different.
