Say what you will about Amber Heard. Personally, I don’t think the ACLU should’ve chosen her to pen the op-ed in the Washington Post as a representative of domestic abuse victims. It simply wasn’t her story to tell.

Yet for all of Heard’s lack of credibility, Johnny Depp has shown himself to be no better. He can gloat and crow and fist bump with his adoring fans over his win in court all he wants — it doesn’t change the fact that Depp still comes across as a vengeful prima donna.

In his own words, Depp wanted his ex-wife to suffer “global humiliation”. That’s exactly what he got.

The public humiliation of Amber Heard was the result of Depp’s rabid support on social media — funded in part by shady far-right political groups — in addition to an ugly and deeply misogynistic schmear campaign that at worst, Depp knowingly encouraged, or at the very least, tacitly approved of.

Depp clearly couldn’t care less that his ex-wife and those who testified on her behalf have received death threats as a result of a trial that he himself instigated. He couldn’t care less that the public hatred for Heard, and anyone who supports her, might discourage real victims of abuse from coming forward.

Depp’s claims that he’s the real victim of abuse are ironic given that he’s shown no concern whatsoever for those who’ve been targeted by his more fanatical fans. If he really cared about victims of abuse, he might’ve at least tried to discourage his fans from turning the trial into a public circus. He could’ve denounced the extreme hate towards Heard, or at the very least, publicly condemned the death threats she’s received.

But a de-escalation of the angry mob who continues to bully Heard was not what Depp wanted. He wanted revenge. It was never just about “clearing his name”.

In all likelihood, Depp and Heard were mutually abusive towards one another to equally comparable degrees.

But Depp’s defamation lawsuit was never about the validity of Heard’s allegations, or the damage to his career. Depp’s lawsuit was a childish attempt on his part to have the last word. He HATED that the trial in the UK found in favor of his ex-wife based on sufficient evidence that Depp had, in fact, abused her multiple times. He just couldn’t let that go. To Depp, this was a zero-sum battle to gain the upper hand by seeing Heard brought low.

Rather than accept responsibility for his role in a mutually abusive, toxic relationship and move on, Depp decided to sue Heard for penning an op-ed that didn’t even refer to him specifically. An op-ed that he probably didn’t even care enough about to read at first. Depp can carry a grudge with the best of them, and if Heard hadn’t penned the op-ed, he would’ve tried to find another way to get back at her and sooth his fragile ego.

Even though they’re both toxic and they’ve both done awful things, Depp’s money and fame, and let’s face it, his gender, have shielded him from the same backlash his ex-wife is facing. Depp is put on a pedestal, when in reality, he appears to be as petty and as vindictive of a narcissist as Heard is perceived to be.

Imagine an international celebrity and multi-millionaire like Johnny Depp whining about how an op-ed that didn’t even mention him ruined his life. Boo hoo.

Well gee maybe she shouldn’t have lied about being abused huh? To quote any 5 year old, “She started it!”

    2. Femme

That’s a lot of puffery and waffling just to say “I didn’t bother watching the trial because I already made up my mind he’s an abusive druggie.”

Why is it the most ill informed will talk so much…

You must be a Turd fan. 🙄

I don’t get it Bob. Is this the creation of a new victimization? Are you saying it’s okay if Mr. Depp is wrongfully blacklisted and demoralized by the media, but it’s not okay the other way around, and this is now all Mr. Depp’s fault? Is it okay if my ex uses every skeleton from our past, exaggerates on it, makes it public causing me to lose my career, reputation, life as I know it because he thinks I’m undeserving of the life I worked for?

You’re absolutely right Bob, hate has no place, but you just went on trying to convince every reader of the many reasons you want them to blame and hate Mr. Depp. He did not do this. The only thing he did was stand up for himself. Nice try!

Amber Heard was found to be guilty of defamation by a jury which means the evidence spoke for itself. And reactive violence is NOT abuse, it is a response to abuse by another person IE: Amber Heard. She has been proven to have provoked conflicts. As anyone who has had the misfortune of getting caught up in the web of a Cluster B personality knows, they are quite capable of running an evil, calculated game on good, unsuspecting people with the goal of destroying them and this is what Johnny has been dealing with from her. SHE was out to ruin HIM and he fought back. The evidence clearly showed her to be guilty. She did this to herself and she gets what she gets.

I think this is a pathetic attempt to gain publicity and just get on the gravy train and further try to ruin a good man’s name. It just seems coincidental that this person is coming out of the woodwork to sue someone one would question why now and not back when it actually happened. To me it seems like a strike while the iron is hot so to speak moment like it didn’t bother then before so why now. To me it seems like they know he has deep pockets so let’s make him dig in them to get their slice of the pie it truly sickens me.

Are you really this clueless Amanda? The Lawsuit was filed in 2018. There was a pandemic and lockdown that brought court cases to a standstill. In the best of times, these cases take several years. The Heard/Depp case that was just resolved was filed in Virginia in 2019. It took three years to begin. Probably because the Covid protocols were more strict in California.

This has nothing to do with getting on the publicity bandwagon etc. this is unrelated and happened before Depp current lawsuit.

Actually read the salient details before commenting.

Are you that clueless BOB? This lawsuit was filed by a no-name after ScAmber filed her TRO. He’s a racist POS who wants a payday. Can’t wait to see his proof. I bet it’s about as compelling and credible as scAmber’s photos.

Another loser looking to make money off the back of a hard working person. Looking for 15 min of fame. JD has proven not to be an aggressor and reacts. All of a sudden after how many years this guy decides he’s gonna sue🙄 dudes a loser. Go to Heard for some $$ from Depp

It makes you wonder if this case, along with another in California and possibly others, was suppressed as evidence of Depp’s violent tendencies at the Heard-Depp civil trial. Heard appeared less credible because the court suppressed a lot of evidence. It seems apparent now that the cat is out of the bag and Depp will likely continue his violent tirades (drug-induced or not). One thing is evident – he puts on a good act.

    1. Femme

Suppressed evidence, Amber? Like the “tissue damage” from too much coke?

“Rocky” Brooks harassed and verbally berated a homeless WOC, even going so far as to use slurs, when Johnny stepped in. By all accounts (by others on set), it didn’t even come to blows. They even took a selfie afterwards to show no hard feelings.

This dude just piled on after ScAmber filed her TRO so he could cop a payday. So another lawsuit because someone thought they could fleece him. He’s done playing with all the leeches, and he’s taking them all the court.

Johnny Depp will once again prove his truth. He does not hide his faults, but he I will defend his actions when a reported incident has been misrepresented. I look forward to this trial for Johnny to tell his account of the events. Let the evidence unfold.
