That change is fine and logical… But as a 50 year plus viewer, I cannot understand the embarrassment of sending a contestant off stage simply because they are not in the positive… I wrote a letter years ago to Jeopardy after watching a young girl in the teen tournament sent off the stage with her eyes watering… Absolutely shameful! Why not let them stay and see if they can save face and perhaps be the only one they get final Jeopardy. They would still be in third place but what is gained by embarrassing someone who has qualified and may have had a different result with different categories and may have been a champion.
It would complicate the format. They must wager something, even if it’s zero. If they finish in the negative, even zero isn’t feasible, they technically OWE.
Mayim is the host, she has earned it and does a great job and keeps the game moving with enthusiasm and knowledge.

They should show the category for every question since it’s part of the clue to the answer. How can we play along eqyally at home
when the contestants are able to view the category and we can’t?

And both Mayim and Ken were offered the job as host, but both declined. Mayim is a very smart and busy woman with a TV show of her own, and Ken likes his current job behind the scenes on Jeopardy. There will be a permanent host when they find one that meets their stringent rules.

I have played Final Jeopardy differently since the 80s. I started guessing the answer after the the topic is shown. I give myself until the commercials end, but before the question is shown. It’s just more challenging that way, and such a high when you get it right! I’ve got it right 3 times in about 3 years before I gave up watching Jeopardy because of work commitments. One answer I remember getting is “moon rocks” off the topic “Space Program”.
My sister saw me do it once, and then she tried for years to do it. She finally got it right once, and boy was she happy! Try it yourself at home and see if it makes Jeopardy even more thrilling of a show.
No one can replace our Alex Trebek, but Ken Jennings is an awesome host! I love Mayim, but Ken is a natural. I don’t know why 2nd & 3rd place contestants lose all their money & go home with a measly $1K & $2K! On Wheel of Fortune, all contestants get to keep what they have earned! Come on, Jeopardy, be a part of the 21st century!! And, PLEASE make Ken Jennings the permanent host!! 🤞🤞
